Roslynn Mauskopf is a federal judge with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She joined the court in 2007 after being nominated by President George W. Bush (R). Mauskopf served as the chief judge from 2020 to 2021.[1] Mauskopf was appointed as the Director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts effective February 1, 2021.[2]

Education

Mauskopf graduated from Brandeis University with her bachelor's degree in 1979 and later graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with her J.D. in 1982.[1]

Professional career

Mauskopf began her career as an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney's Office from 1982 to 1995 before becoming an inspector general for the State of New York from 1995 to 2002. From 2002 to 2007, Mauskopf was a U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.[1]

Judicial career

Mauskopf was nominated by President George W. Bush (R) on January 9, 2007, to a seat vacated by Judge David Trager. Masukopf was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 4, 2007, on a majority voice vote and received commission on October 18, 2007. She served as the chief judge from 2020 to 2021.[3] Mauskopf was appointed as the Director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts effective February 1, 2021.[2] She was appointed to the position by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
