The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[5] Incumbent Michael Webert was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7]

Webert won re-election in the 2013 election for Virginia House of Delegates District 18. Webert ran unopposed in the June 11th Republican Primary. He defeated Colin Harris (D) in the general election on November 5, 2013.[8]

On November 8, 2011, Webert won election to District 18 of the Virginia House of Delegates. He defeated Kevin Kelly in the August 23 primary and Bob Zwick in the November 8 general election.[9]
