May 5, 2020:  The Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success announces the continuation of institutional scholarships into the Fall 2020 semester.

May 1, 2020:  The Division of Student Affairs provides information about CARES Act funds as an extension of the university's current Student Emergency Fund application process.

April 21, 2020:  The university provides Grade Option Forms for undergraduate and graduate students to confirm their preferences under the Temporary Grading Policy published on April 16. April 16, 2020:  The university announces a Temporary Grading Policy for the spring 2020 and summer 2020 semesters resulting from transition to virtual/online instruction.

April 15, 2020:  The university announces guidelines for account adjustments, credits and refunds related to housing and dining charges as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

April 15, 2020:  The Division of Student Affairs announces upcoming virtual fireside chats for students (Thursday, April 16, 6 p.m. central time) and parents/families (Saturday, April 18, 11 a.m. central time), which will feature remarks and Q&A sessions with Acting President Ruby L. April 3, 2020:  The university provides guidance to work-study supervisors and work-study student employees about the continuation of federal work-study and college work-study payment through the end of the spring semester.

April 3, 2020:  The university shares guidance for student Census completers in response to dislocations caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

April 1, 2020:  The City of Tuskegee announces a city-wide curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day, which goes into effect Friday, April 3.

March 31, 2020:  The university emails guidance for students regarding a new Student Emergency Fund and resources for well-being, academic support services, virtual and on-campus student services, bookstore and textbook assistance, and virtual Student Code of Conduct expectations. March 26, 2020:  The Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs announce procedures for employees and students to follow in reporting suspected and positive COVID-19 cases.

March 25, 2020:  Tuskegee University issues a statement on two separate confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 involving an employee and a student.

March 24, 2020:  The Office of Human Resources and the Office of Information Technology release additional guidance to employees about transitioning to alternate work arrangements and collaboration tools available to employees working remotely [read more]

March 14, 2020:  Guidance from the Division of Student Affairs to all students who have resided on campus during the spring 2020 semester. March 13, 2020:  The Alabama Department of Public Health announced the state's first confirmed case of coronavirus, which is in Montgomery County. Monitor future updates on ADPH's CoronaVirus Disease 2019 website or on Twitter at @alpublichealth.

March 12, 2020:  Acting President Ruby L. Perry issues an update on the extension of spring break, the institution of virtual instruction, suspension of university-sponsored travel, and cancelation of all on-campus events through April 30 [view email]; a summary of those decisions include:

  • Spring Break extended through March 22
  • Instruction resumes virtually for the remainder of the semester on March 23
  • Students exhibiting no symptoms can return to residence halls on March 22, as there is no reported case at Tuskegee or in Macon County
  • Students can choose to remain on campus or go home for the semester, but must meet the demands of academic coursework
  • Dining services, the library, and the bookstore with remain available to students, and all employees will be available to assist students
  • University-sponsored travel and campus events/activities are canceled through April 30. We will evaluate travel and activities and whether commencement will occur after April 30.
