Smarter Balanced (SBAC) CAASPP TOMS Data Acquisition Instructions
Step 1
Go to www.caaspp.org
Step 2 Click on the green TOMS button (Test Operations Management System) Then, login using your private LEA CAASPP Coordinator credentials.
NOTE: If you are not logged in as the (one and only) LEA CAASPP Coordinator, you will not see the options below. No other role will suffice.
Step 3 Select 'LEA Reports' from the navigation bar. In the selection box, scroll down until you get to the section: 'CAASPP Student Score Data File' If you don’t see this option, it suggests you are not logged in under the one-and-only LEA Coordinator account.
Step 4 Select your Organization (district/school), then select the School Year. Please be sure to choose ‘By Tested LEA’ in the ‘Report Type’ drop-down box that is located under the Organization box. We are unable to use files that do not contain the tested students.
Step 5
Press the [Download Report] button.
Step 6 This will download a ZIP file to your computer, in the manner typical for your browser. Depending on your configured browser download behavior, the .zip file may be automatically saved to your computer (e.g. downloads folder), or it may prompt you to browse for a save location.
On Mac OS: The .zip may appear as a folder at first glance, as the “.zip” extension can be hidden. Simply add a “.zip” to your file name to avoid confusion. Simply save your .ZIP file, Do not open or extract the ZIP. Keep it as-is.

Step 7 Once downloaded from the publisher, upload the untouched, unopened, well-named .ZIP file to us via MMARS’ integrated, validated upload utility. Click here for a video tutorial
