Smarter Balanced (SBAC) CAASPP ORS Data Acquisition Instructions
Step 1
Go to www.caaspp.org
Step 2 Click on the green TOMS button (Test Operations Management System) Then, login using your private LEA CAASPP Coordinator credentials. NOTE: If you are not logged in as the (one and only) LEA CAASPP Coordinator, you will not see the options below. No other role will suffice.
Step 3
Click on 'LINKS’ from the top navigation bar, then Click on 'Online Reporting System'
Step 4 IMPORTANT: This step is critical to ensure your export files include the correct students. Click on ‘Score Reports’ Check bottom selection: “Scores for students who were mine when they tested during the selected administration.” This is the only selection you’ll make on this screen.
Now return to the home screen.
Step 5
Click on 'LINKS’ from the top navigation bar, then Click on 'Online Reporting System'
Step 6
Click on ‘Retrieve Student Results’
Step 7
Make sure to make all of these selections in the ‘Retrieve Student Results’ window. Once your selections are made, click ‘Export to Inbox’ in the lower left-hand corner of the window. (Click on the picture to the left to enlarge it.) Take special note of the file type, making sure to change the selection to ‘CSV Comma Separated Values’. Do NOT send Excel.
Step 8
To view your exported files, click on the ‘Inbox’ tab on the top border of the ‘Retrieve Student Results’ window.

Step 9
Click on the file name of your desired files to download a ZIP file to your computer in the manner typical for your browser.
Step 10
Simply add your district name in the file name before saving, but Do not open or extract the ZIP. Keep it as-is. Repeat steps 5 - 10 for 2016 and 2015.
Step 11
Once downloaded from the publisher, upload the well-named files you created to us via MMARS’ integrated, validated upload utility. Click here for a video tutorial
