Jux

â„¢

Jux™ is our abbreviated term for multi-dimensional charting using myriad juxtaposition options.

Jux·ta·po·si·tion (Noun)

/ˌjəkstəpəˈziSH(ə)n/

Juxtaposition is an act or instance of placing two elements close together or side by side, often done in order to compare/contrast the two, to show similarities or differences, etc.

Jux™ – Frequency Distribution (available now) Jux™ (short for juxtaposition), is our tool that compares different parameters side-by-side. Jux™ uses stacked bar charts, showing the distribution of scores for any group of students. You can choose from a variety of measures to compare, in a variety of orientations: -- What : Subjects, Claims/Skills/Clusters, Targets/Standards, etc. -- When :Years/Terms/Months, etc. -- Who : Districts, Schools, Teachers, Grades, Subgroups The Jux™ elements are referred to as Primary Compare and Secondary Compare. (see example to the right)    In this example, • Secondary Jux™ elements (Schools) are clustered, per • Primary Jux™ element (Subjects) along the X-axis. Side-by-side comparisons are readily apparent. You can also find the Jux™ comparison titles … beneath the report name at the top of the page.

YOU choose these, from a wide variety of Who, What, When options.

Jux3 – Lines Over Bars

(available August 10, 2020)

Jux3 is our new type of Jux™ report that add a 3rd dimension / comparison to the chart. Instead of a frequency distribution (prior page), Jux3 let’s you choose a single segment of a performance level chart (e.g. “Met or Exceeded Standard”), view the percentage of students with that set of scores, then overlays a line chart, showing a vivid, visual comparison with a full set of elements from another category. Any/all segments (performance levels) can be charted on subsequent pages. You can choose from a variety of measures to compare, in a variety of orientations: -- What : Subjects, Claims/Skills/Clusters, Targets/Standards, etc. -- When :Years/Terms/Months, etc. -- Who : Districts, Schools, Teachers, Grades, Subgroups The new Jux3 element (the lines) are referred to as Tertiary Compare. (see example to the right)  In this example, • The colored bars represent all students, districtwide, in this performance level. • The lines (Tertiary Jux™ elements) represent various Schools. • Secondary Jux™ elements (Years) are clustered, per • Primary Jux™ element (Subjects) along the X-axis.
