The list of brutal methods devised by Bruce Jessen and James Mitchell for use by the U.S. included waterboarding. The tactics were meant to condition detainees into a state of helplessness. Mitchell has said he was told by U.S. officials that the idea was to "walk right up to the edge of the law."

The case had been set to go before a jury on Sept. 5. Because of their status as contractors rather than government employees, the lawsuit had targeted Jessen and Mitchell as private citizens.

Based in Spokane, Wash., the two psychologists were sued by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of two former prisoners and the family of one detainee who died of extreme cold in a secret CIA prison.

The case was filed in October 2015, after the Senate intelligence committee released part of its report on the CIA's programs in which Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the panel's chairwoman, wrote that she had concluded that "under any common meaning of the term, CIA detainees were tortured."

False : some Southerners did contrive such a plan (and many others) but not THE SOUTH : the authorities in charge in the South, which were formed of usual suspects, counted on NYC which acted as a "neutral" sanctuary city. I make no critique regarding New Orleans… But most financial centers are coastal for a reason. They developed as industrial powerhouses first - and usually based on shipping things in and out. The financial industries set up shop to initially serve them. In ironic fashion those cities then often become too expensive for the industries that initially built them and they switch to the service sector. Other than Shanghai - can’t think of any that still serves as both. And even Shanghai industry has moved further and further inland - for cost reasons.

So, I wouldn’t say that the non-English language influence is dominant, but it’s definitely grown. For example, when I was an adolescent a half century ago, the most prestigious conservative ideological summary was Russell Kirk’s extremely Anglophone book The Conservative Mind: From Burke to Eliot. Nowadays, a well-read conservative would include lots of Continentals like de Maistre.

The modern left in America, since at least the 1920s, has been interested in Continental ideologies and absorbed foreign intellectuals into its ranks. This was generally confined to the academy with occasional emergence into mainstream Democrat party thinking.

It appears that at least since the late Obama years, the American left has eschewed any fealty to confining its politics and governing within the limits of the Anglo-American tradition. The Republicans' organization and response, both as the official opposition party at the end of the Obama Regime and as the purported party in power in the Trump years, has seemed entirely ineffectual at best - when the Democrats are in office, their policies get implemented; when the Democrats are out of office, their policies get implemented less quickly. The quasi-official party organs of the GOP like the National Review engaged in a sort of exhibitionist onanism as politics - principle requires that we honor our adversaries' victories no matter the means, and unilaterally disarm in all political conflicts. In the off chance that you win an election and come to power, the Republicans' role in this system is to manage and discipline the Republican's base of voters. Against all of this is the ambient understanding that the left is systematically electing a new people, making Republican electoral victories less and less possible with every passing year.

Naturally, intelligent right wingers are going to look outside of the quasi-official Republican party organs and beyond the traditions of Anglo-American political life which have proved impotent against the new tactics of the adversary. It's a fool's errand to hone one's Oxford Union debating skills when the left's fresh batch of voters imported by the millions speak a hundred different mother tongues.

I think the concept of deep state is superfluous.

In the USA, what is referred to as the deep state seems to be simply the administrative state, grafted onto the constitutional republic in the early 20th century. There is nothing deep or below surface about it – nothing secret. It is all the three letter agencies, CIA, FBI, SEC, IRS, DOL, etc, plus the NGO’s financed by the UN and foundations which are beyond the control of normal political processes.

The administrative state starts with assigned goals, provide security, protect investors, raise revenue for the govt. Over time incentives change the mission to preserving the agency, increasing the power of the agency, crushing all other centers of power to enhance its power. The Federal Reserve starts with the mission to protect banks and depositors but pretty soon it is closing the bank accounts of known Trump supporters or telling banks they can only merge and become larger if they satisfy the fed’s thurst for more minority mortgages.. Power once given never relinquished and is used for reasons unimaginable at the start.

Mostly the actions of the US deep state are not difficult to fathom or clandestine. On any question you can predict where the “deep state” will fall.

And though I did appreciate this article, I was not in complete agreement. My disagreement could be summed up with this line from Mr. Hoffman's article.

The (nonwhite) Third World doesn’t buy it and the (nonwhite) Third World is the demographic future.

Wrote the First World white man, whose article fails to direct attention to the obvious fact that the Muslim world is working with the Jewish world to crush the White world that includes people like Mr. Hoffman. And I think about that.

And what I think is that it's an odd omission. Doesn't Mr. Hoffman care about himself and his future? And if not, why should we take him seriously? Especially since, as a result of this glaring omission, his own moral standard can be turned against him. That Jews and Muslims and the entire nonwhite Third World are doing to whites what Mr. Hoffman complains Israel is doing to Palestinians, only on a much larger scale.

Given that magnitude, could not his omission itself be seen as a profile in cowardice?

Livin' in the new world / With an old soul / These rich men north of Richmond / Lord knows they all just wanna have total control / Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do / And they don't think you know, but I know that you do / 'Cause your dollar ain't shit and it's taxed to no end / 'Cause of rich men north of Richmond.

I wish politicians would look out for miners / And not just minors on an island somewhere / Lord, we got folks in the street, ain't got nothin' to eat / And the obese milkin' welfare.

Well, God, if you're 5-foot-3 and you're 300 pounds / Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds / Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground / 'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down.

Yeah, man. We're bein' oppressed by those shadowy, nameless elites again. Those jerks are really givin' it to us by refusing to cut their own taxes and giving poor people food stamps. The bastards!!!!

Quite some time ago, “60 Minutes” did a segment on comparisons between two identical suburban Atlanta subdivisions, one black and one white.
The two subdivisions were built by the same builder and were identical as to the size, design, and quality of the houses and property.
The interviews were mainly done with residents of the black subdivision, who remarked that they would have no objections to whites moving in. “60 Minutes” had to inject race into the conversation although at the end of the segment, it “bit them in the @ss”.
At the end of the segment, the moderator was forced to admit that the price of an identical property in the black subdivision was considerably less (tens of thousands of dollars) than that of an identical property in the white subdivision.
    Blacks DO depress property values.

How would one find a developer to invest identical amounts for construction of identical housing on similar tracts of land, knowing that one tract would generate far greater sales revenue?

    • Replies: @anarchyst
    @Jim Bob Lassiter

In order to procure the proper "permits" needed to plat subdivisions and build, the developer had to agree to pursue a proper non-racial "equal housing opportunity" stance. In order to get permission to build, the developer had to agree to all of the government's demands. What the developer "lost" on the black subdivision was gained in the white subdivision. It all balances out. That is the way that the "game" is played.
Once the first black moved into the subdivision, all bets were off. Blacks were discreetly "steered" to that particular subdivision. At the same time, whites were discreetly "steered" to the "other" subdivision.
    The rest is history.
Real estate racial "steering" still exists, despite government efforts to stamp it out.

Stereotyping earlier generations is just plain stupid.

I'm a late silent so I know the boomers well. I can't see that the later generations are any improvement. There have probably always been a lot of people who blame their troubles on their parents and grand parents. Like you say it's "just plain stupid".

If you must rant against boomers pick someone specific. Bill Clinton for example. You will find a lot of boomers agree with you. Think about how you will react when your children or grand children blame you for Atifa, BLM and Trans Ideology. That was not my fault you say. BUT YOU LET IT HAPPEN they reply. Just plain stupid.

    Replies: @anarchyst, @Anonymous

To paraphrase a famous song “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel, it’s not every “boomer” that is the problem. In fact, many of us boomers struggled through life, but finally “made it”.
I am a “boomer” who has worked all my life, starting at 12 years of age. Being one of a large family, life for my parents and us was not easy, but we all persevered in our own ways and were successful in life.
Nobody ever gave me anything. What I did was gained “with the sweat of my brow”.
If there is any “blame” to be placed, it must be placed at those of previous generations, especially the “greatest generation”, that formulated and passed many of the destructive laws and customs that we live under to this day.
Us “boomers” were too young at the time and had not amassed any political power. The decisions were made by those of “the greatest generation”.
From the enactment of the federal income tax and the creation of the unconstitutional Federal Reserve cartel, previous generations have a lot to answer for.
The “greatest generation” was duped into fighting a war for European (jewish) interests, destroying much of European culture as a result, and solidifying international jewish power by NOT going after the REAL enemies of human culture, legitimizing the state of Israel, thereby consolidating jewish power, and assuring the jewish zionist hold on the world political process.
Let’s not forget that the “greatest generation” pushed for the terribly misguided “civil-rights” acts, statutes and laws, which effectively disenfranchised whites (but only whites) with the abolition of “freedom of association” (but only for whites). In fact, federalized state troops were used against law-abiding whites in violation of “posse comitatus” laws which prohibit utilizing the military for domestic law enforcement purposes. Whites have been effectively neutered since these laws were passed. Forced integration of schools (cross-district bussing and other schemes) was enforced by leftist judges who insisted that blacks needed to sit next to whites in order to learn.
The “elephant in the room” to which blame can be squarely put on the “greatest generation” was the “Hart-Celler Immigration Act of 1965”. This act successfully cut off the immigration for white Europeans while opening up the floodgates for third-world brown and black immigration.
Both major political parties were responsible for this travesty. Democrats saw increasing third-world immigration as a source for votes while the Republicans saw it as a source of cheap labor.
The wages of native-born Americans have not increased in real terms since 1970, that point in time being seen as the “high-water mark” in relation to real wage growth. There has not been any real “wage growth” since then.
By the time us “boomers” achieved political power, it was too late. We were already co-opted by jewish interests who already seized political power for themselves, thanks to those of the “greatest generation” that legitimized the rogue state of israel and covered up the “act of war” committed by israel with the attack on the USS Liberty (AGTR-5) on June 8, 1967.
All of the above can be attributed to those of the “greatest generation” NOT boomers…

Blaming my fathers generation is just as plain stupid as blaming the boomers. Blaming every single member of a generation for shit that happened when they were the current generation is EXTREMELY GODDAMNED FUCKING STUPID!!!!!!!!! Just stop it.

Can you think of ANY individual human beings that you feel were responsible for the failings of the greatest generation? Why do you supose said individuals made these mistakes? Was it just because of the year they were born? Did it have anything to do with the times they were living in?

This is not rocket science. These kind of generalizations make me tired. Anglin says when he blames everything on the Jews that everybody knows he doesn't mean all the Jews. NO THEY DON'T. Tell us which Jews. Name the Jew? No. Name one or more Jews. What exactly is their name and what specific offense are they responsible for? Or just aknowledge that you are generalizing to make a point.

Right. Anyone who knows how to subtract can see that the boomers were not the problem. 1965-1946=19. And that's the *oldest* boomers. Even if you idiotically believe that boomer's ideas had some kind of power, young people don't have their own ideas. They recite what their elders have taught them, just with greater enthusiasm, less nuance, and more demands for action.

As Working Class says, though, generational calculus is stupid in and of itself. The difference between the boomers and previous generations is who taught them. When boomers were being educated (by TV, newspapers, universities, movies, &c), those institutions had interesting demographics. But the interesting demographics had nothing to do with birth dates.

When it comes to enforced desegregation in the 1950's and the immigration act of 1965 -- in fact, all the destructive legislation of that period -- I would place most of the responsibility on the generation before the Greatest Generation. Assuming you don't get real power in Congress until you're in your mid-sixties (committee chairmanships, etc.), then all the bad stuff that happened in 1954 and 1965 was enabled by people who were born in 1900 or earlier (the Greatest Generation was born after 1920).

Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ, Nixon and maybe even Reagan were born before 1920.

America has been on a downward trend since before the Civil War, and that -- I think -- is reflected in every generation since then. The Civil War ripped the heart out of America. The Constitution was trampled into dust. 45 years later (around 1900), America crossed the Rubicon -- so to speak -- and transformed from a republic (however defective) into an empire, and from a representative democracy into a tyrannical oligarchy.

I remember my Greatest Generation parents during the 1960's. They were bewildered by what was going on and didn't know how to react.

Is there an increasing percentage of blacks in America or are we just making shit up now?

Blacks were 11% of the population in 1960 and are 13% now so the answer is yes. What is more important, though, is the ratio of blacks to whites since whites largely have to carry unproductive blacks around on their backs. Blacks as a group receive more in government benefits than they pay in taxes so are a drain on society.

In 1960 there were eight times as many whites as blacks. Now there are only five times as many whites as blacks. Hispanics as a group also receive more in government benefits than they pay in taxes. There are only 3 and a half times as many whites now as Hispanics.

Much of the white population is now elderly and reliant on Social Security and Medicare. That, combined with an expanding welfare dependent black and Hispanic population, will rapidly worsen our debt situation. Fitch just dropped the U.S. government credit rating from AAA to AA+ and mentioned in their accompanying statement the rapidly expanding debt as one of the reasons for that. The lack of concern about this among the general public is startling. That lack of concern extends to many of the commenters even here at this right-wing website. Small government conservatives are an almost an extinct species so there is now little intellectual resistance to our inevitable government fiscal crisis.

But this was after the war began, and after the greatest stupidest generation elected the old fool three times. This is at odds with your initial assertion that Southerners were bought off by dems then hoisted into a meat grinder for their foolishness. Most of the country in fact voted for FDR in his four elections.

Southerners at the time were still punishing republicons for Lincoln and, as well, to maintain their segregated society. With a solid bank of Southern senators, any detrimental legislation to Southern whites was blocked and bottled up.

Wyoming and Idaho's Black population comprise only 1% of their respective populations; Wyoming, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and Utah's are only 2%; South Dakota, New Mexico, and Oregon's are 3%; and North Dakota and Hawaii's are 4%.

Other than Rhode Island (including Providence Plantations?) at 8.4%, Alaska is the only one of the "suppressed" states in which the black population tops 5%-- just barely, at 5.08%, with Iowa and West Virginia just under 5%. Is there something about the range 2.3% (New Hampshire's, #44 in black %) to 5% that would cause states in this zone to suppress such info? Like, the small numbers skew in the wrong direction?

Very good comment, GAMk8, and I agree with:

The FAA ATP standard is, afaik, quite substantially higher than any other national requirement for airline-flying eligibility.

However, that doesn't come from the US Air Airbus in the Hudson River. It comes from the Colgan crash into the neighborhood on approach to Buffalo, NY in '09.

Now, when a crash happens, many things are changed, some that are quick and obvious and others that are more broad and often only vaguely related to the accident. Congress, via NTSB findings, wants to DO SOMETHING, and honestly, lots of times many of the things are not appropriate but sound good.

I won't argue about the Colgan crash again or the new (well, for those who think a decade ago is recent) ATP standards. What I will say is that the American (based) airlines used to have a very big advantage in being able to hire guys (mostly) with LOTS and LOTS of experience for 2 reasons:

    1) Going back 20-25 years it was very difficult to get an airline job, so...

    2) Pilots flew for peanuts to get hours, teaching, towing banners, flying meat bombs errr, skydivers, flying FED checks or medical samples around in the middle of the night in the ice and shit (aka, thunderstorms), being a Sugar Daddy for some well-off dude who wanted to be flown around in his Mooney (and hopefully later, King Air!) because...

    3) The General Aviation business was HUGE going back 15 years or so. It is nothing like it used to be at this point.

Now, that varied experience is not found so easily. It's something that pretty much no other country had that much of ever.

Japan Airlines was teaching pilots to fly 747s-400's in the pattern at Mose Lake, Washington years ago - there's a 13,000 ft runway out there. Once they got 200 hours, which many American hobby pilots had much more than, they got to fly these things as First Officers for JAL. OJT, bitchez.

International flights require international standards of pilots. However, the US differs from almost every other country in having an insanely high percentage of its air travel domestic. About 60% of the world's domestic air travel is in the US. Which means... bound only by domestic standards. Which are eroding. Because standards are racist.

The reason why COVID got such an overresponse was because it affected a small subset of the elderly. In a gerontocracy, the least valuable are the most valuable.
As for Islamic terrorism, there were other factors involved. Wanting a base to attack other sources of terrorism (Iran, and don't say it in mixed company, Pakistan), payback for an assassination attempt on a former US president, and a desire to keep the oil flowing to the right countries.

Meanjojo writes (utterly without knowledge!) "...some arcane and esoteric point of past history that has zero relevance to today’s world or current events?"

THEREIN lies the PROBLEMS of the West, today. In the 1990's Dr. Joseph Farrell [ PhD OXON.] wrote a massive THEOLOGICAL-Historical Treatise on this same subject, called 'God, History, and Dialectic." wherein he posited this truism:

“Christian theology has left an indelible imprint, a presupposition, which permeates the “popular historiographical consciouness” of the Second (Western) Europe, with its persistent division of History into the tripartite scheme delineated by various sigla: “Ancient History, Mediaeval history, Modern History” or “Classical Ages, Dark or Middle Ages, Modern Age” being the two most popular. The origin of this discernible form is, not surprisingly, the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Ghost—or rather, the dialectically formulated and deconstructed “Trinity” of the post-Augustinian Christian West. This Augustinian-Trinitarian civilization, which in these pages is designated “The Second Europe,” was erected on the foundation of the Orthodox and Eastern Europe, which is similarly designated “the First Europe.” The basic thesis of these essays is thus that there are Two Europes, Eastern and Western, First and Second respectively, and that both are the effects and consequences of very different and ultimately contradictory theological presuppositions and methods. These essays argue that these different and mutually exclusive presuppositions and methods have permeated every facet of legal, social, and cultural conventions. But to say this is to say nothing new, nor terribly original, and certainly nothing terribly upsetting to the “multiculturalist” or “Judeo-Christian Conservative.” The thesis of the Two Europes is explored in these essays from the presupposition that the Western, Second Europe is derivative and aberrant. ”

It is this 'derivative and aberrant' analysis of the West that set me on a decade-long study of Byzantium, corroborating EVERYTHING Dr. Farrell noted, and this author talks about.

It's amazing how anti-semites are not content with being anti-semites, and need everyone else to be as well. Michael Hudson has broached the topic of Jews from a historical perspective numerous times -- e.g., in his recent article Origins of Debt: How Financial Oligarchies in Greece & Rome Shaped Our World, as I have pointed out in a comment.
    https://www.unz.com/runz/why-everything-you-know-about-world-war-ii-is-wrong/?showcomments#comment-6010896

    https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/05/01/bronze-age-redux-on-debt-clean-slates-and-what-the-ancients-have-to-teach-u/
    In that interview one reads:

Tribes: When does the concept of a general debt cancellation disappear historically?

Michael: I guess in about the second or third century AD it was downplayed in the Bible. After Jesus died, you had, first of all, St Paul taking over, and basically Christianity was created by one of the most evil men in history, the anti-Semite Cyril of Alexandria. He gained power by murdering his rivals, the Nestorians, by convening a congress of bishops and killing his enemies. Cyril was really the Stalin figure of Christianity, killing everybody who was an enemy, organizing pogroms against the Jews in Alexandria where he ruled.

It was Cyril that really introduced into Christianity the idea of the Trinity. That’s what the whole fight was about in the third and fourth centuries AD. Was Jesus a human, was he a god? And essentially you had the Isis-Osiris figure from Egypt, put into Christianity. The Christians were still trying to drive the Jews out of Christianity. And Cyril knew the one thing the Jewish population was not going to accept would be the Isis figure and the Mariolatry that the church became. And as soon as the Christian church became the establishment rulership church, the last thing it wanted in the West was debt cancellation.

You had a continuation of the original Christianity in the Greek Orthodox Church, or the Orthodox Church, all the way through Byzantium. And in my book And Forgive Them Their Debts, the last two chapters are on the Byzantine echo of the original debt cancellations, where one ruler after another would cancel the debts. And they gave very explicit reason for it: if we don’t cancel the debts, we’re not going to be able to field an army, we’re not going to be able to collect taxes, because the oligarchy is going to take over. They were very explicit, with references to the Bible, references to the jubilee year. So you had Christianity survive in the Byzantine Empire. But in the West it ended in Margaret Thatcher. And Father Coughlin.

Tribes: He was the ’30s figure here in the States.

Michael: Yes: anti-Semite, right-wing, pro-war, anti-labor. So the irony is that you have the people who call themselves fundamentalist Christians being against everything that Jesus was fighting for, and everything that original Christianity was all about.
