Welcome to the Güggeli-Beiz at Schwellenmätteli Restaurants

Whether you’re planning a corporate event, birthday party, Christmas party or wedding – we warmly invite you to celebrate with us, whatever the occasion! The cozy Güggeli-Beiz is located in a heritage-protected half-timbered building, surrounded by a spacious park with lush trees, a river and adjacent woodlands. In summer, the large terrace is the perfect retreat to stop and relax.

Leave the organization of your festivities to us. We’ll work together with you to develop a tailormade solution. From choosing the right room, food and beverages through providing the perfect table decorations for the occasion and our first-class service: We’ll be more than happy to take care of all the preparations and catering for your event and will ensure you and your guests will remember the occasion for a long time to come.

General information and terms

General

Our quote is in writing and contains binding prices based on the agreed number of guests. All food and beverages must be ordered from Schwellenmätteli Restaurants.

Changes to guest numbers

To avoid any misunderstandings, you should notify us of the exact number of guests no later than two weeks before your event.

At this juncture, we allow an increase/decrease of up to 20 % in the number of guests reported at the time of the banquet agreement. We will use this information as the basis for our buying, catering, staff planning and billing. If you change the numbers 13 days or fewer before your event, we will be able to accept only a 5 % increase/decrease.

We may change prices due to external influences. You can pay in cash or by credit card or ask for an invoice (payable within 14 days, net). For large events, we reserve the right to ask for a deposit (menu price for the number of guests you have specified, excluding beverages). This is payable no later than 14 days before the event. You can pay the balance in cash or by credit card or ask for an invoice. All prices are in CHF, incl. VAT.

Decoration

Of course, you may also bring a table decoration yourself. Please note that our tables are rather narrow when decorating with flowers. We recommend that you place several small table arrangements or flower jars on the tables.

Talk to us if you have something special in mind, but do not have time to implement your idea yourself. Together with our decorator we will help you to realize your wishes. While you will be charged for additional floral decorations tailored to your event, accessories can be obtained from us at rental prices. We will be happy to arrange the decorations you bring with you. In the case of particularly elaborate table decorations, we reserve the right to charge CHF 2.- per place setting.

Children

The following applies to our young guests:

Banquet menus

0 – 5 years: free

6 – 14 years: ⅔ of the menu price

15 + years: regular price

We also offer a children’s menu with special prices.

Menu choice

To help us prepare for your event, and unless otherwise agreed, we would ask you to let us have your menu choice no later than 14 days before your event. We want our guests to have a good time and to enjoy outstanding service in a unique ambiance. We would ask you to help us achieve this and avoid long waiting times by ordering a set menu for group bookings of 10+.

Menu cards

We will be more than happy to print our classic menu cards for you free of charge.

Wine corkage

You are welcome to bring your own wine for a surcharge of CHF 35.– per 75 cl bottle opened.

Cakeage

You are welcome to bring your own cake for dessert for a surcharge of CHF 6.50 per person.

Minimum spend

The minimum spend can vary depending on the agreement in question and the event type. The banquet team will be more than happy to provide you with further information.

Parking

We have only limited parking in the Schwellenmätteli. We therefore recommend that our guests use one of the nearby parking lots (e.g. Casino parking).

Bookings

A contract between the event organizer and Schwellenmätteli Restaurants comes into force when

a. The event organizer confirms in writing a banquet agreement from Schwellenmätteli Restaurants

b. Schwellenmätteli Restaurants confirms in writing a request from the event organizer

Changes to the content of the contract will not take effect until confirmed in writing by Schwellenmätteli Restaurants. We reserve the right to withdraw a banquet agreement if there are weighty reasons to do so.

Withdrawal by Schwellenmätteli Restaurants

If Schwellenmätteli Restaurants has reasonable grounds to assume that the event may jeopardize the smooth running of the business or the safety, security or reputation of the restaurant, Schwellenmätteli Restaurants will be entitled to withdraw from the booking agreement at any time without compensation. The same applies if the event organizer fails to comply with the deposit arrangements agreed in accordance with the general terms and conditions. The event organizer cannot under any circumstances assert any claims for damages against Schwellenmätteli Restaurants.

Jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction is Bern. Swiss law is exclusively applicable.
