Expanding Families One Pet at a Time

My name is Clarabelle and I’m a 4-month-old girl looking for the love of a lifetime. Imagine us playing with toys, cuddling on the couch and purring the night away! Sounds good, right? Well, if life with me would be grand, just think how fun it will be with one or both of my sisters as part of the family, too! They are pictured on page 21. Their names are Daisy and Minnie and they’re just as sweet, friendly and curious as me. We are all spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained, and we’re more than ready to give you all the love you’ve been searching for. To meet any of us, please call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755. I’d like to thank Wiggle Butts Photography for giving me and my sisters this chance to find a forever family. Sitting in a bowl of valentine candy while batting at feathers was an entertaining experience I won’t soon forget!

Hello Lovers of Sexy Russian Blues! My friends here at Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab call me Blue Marlin. I'm just the sweetest, gentlest boy who is a teensy bit shy but I’m super sexy. My fur is so incredibly soft and I really love to be petted! I get along great with all the other kitties here and it should come as no surprise but everyone at FURR loves me. I have a brother named Perch and we look just alike. Although, he’s a little pudgy and loves a good belly rub. You can adopt both of us together if you’d like or you can just adopt me. What's more beautiful than a silvery smooth Russian Blue mix? Not much! Hop online and check out videos of me at www.catfurr.org. Please call 864-483-2444 or email adoptafurrcat@gmail.com to adopt me. I am sponsored in loving memory of Jane “Button” Honeycutt Spencer. My name is Bindi and I’m the newest Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue addition. I want everyone to know that I’m looking for a loving home where I can play and do my zoomies. I’m a youngster at approximately 2-years-old. I’m believed to be an Aussie / Shepherd mix. I am current on core vaccines, spayed and microchipped. I love to play so a fur brother could be really cool. Since I’m a little shy at first, another pup could help me become more confident. When you pet me (and I love petting), I’ll roll over so you can rub my belly, too. Belly rubs are my favorite. I’m learning that I don’t need to always have my human right there, but I still need a little help to trust you’ll come back. After all, I was a stray so you can’t blame me. I’m super sweet and just waiting for my very own forever home. Will you be that person? If you would like more information or would like to adopt me, please email Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue NC at freedombridgeanimalrescuenc@gmail.com or give them a call at 843-614-0231. You can also visit the website at www.freedombridgeanimalrescuenc.org. I am sponsored by Tony and Peggy Durso. Thank you!

Hi! I am a Great Pyrenees boy named Captain, just 1-year-old and very handsome! I am at Paws Place with my brother Zeus (pictured on page 19) and we have made a lot of friends since our arrival! We are still not too sure about these leashes that the humans try to put on us for walks, so we get to have fun in a play-group instead! I just love playing with other dogs, so I would like to request that my new family have other four-legged friends! Playtime with dogs has truly helped my brother and I come out of our shells. I will also need a fenced-in yard, but I promise to keep trying this whole walking on a leash thing. I just need a little more time to find my confidence. I hope to find my furever family soon, a family who will love my shy and goofy personality. Paws Place is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and no appointment is necessary, so come on over and meet me! You can also call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org to find out more. I am sponsored by The Tree House Gang at Saltscapes Landscaping. Thank you!

Hear ye, hear ye, I’m Mr. Kitty and I’m a 1-year-old prince who is still looking for a castle. I get along with young children and dogs. I am playful, very handsome and love to give you kisses when you hold me. I am already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. To adopt, call Thundering Paws Pet Adoption at 910-224-6068 or email thunderingpawsinc@icloud.com! Sponsored in loving memory of Roxy.

Adoption Options We are all from different Animal Rescues. Please read our stories! OPERATION TOPCAT Hi, my name is Quinn (gray and white Tabby). I’m an 8½-month-old boy who is gentle and sweet. I love sink faucets, chasing your feet, fluffy beds and wet food. I love other cats, especially my brother, Silas, who I’m bonded with. I love wet food, treats, cat trees, cardboard scratchers, and plastic

spring toys. My brother is a buff orange Tabby. He is 8½-months-old, too. He is very gentle and sweet. He loves sink faucets, fuzzy blankets to make biscuits on, wet food, treats, fun toys, and being petted. He loves other cats - especially me! We are a package deal. We are both playful, active and fully vetted. We haven’t been around children or dogs and have been raised in a quiet home. We will be skittish at first since we’ve been in our foster home since we were babies. With time and patience, we will settle in. To learn more about us and how we can meet, text my foster mom, Jenn, at 910-545-9885 or email her at lovemycats721@gmail.com. You can also apply for us at operationtopcatnc.org. We can’t wait to meet our forever family. We have been waiting a long time! ♥

RESCUECONNECT Hello, My name is Hank! I am a 65 pound boy who is 6 to 7-years young! I like other dogs and cats and probably children. My bags are packed and I am ready for my forever family. For more info or to fill out an adoption application, visit www.rescueconnectnc.com or call 910-352-5150 for more information! ♥

CAROLINA ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY Hello, my name is Bryce. I am a very sweet boy who is about 7-years young and I’m full of life and love! I was surrendered when my owner passed away and the family needed a place for me and 2 of my siblings. I might be a little shy at first but if you give me a place in the window to watch the birds and squirrels (supplemented with lots of hugs), I can purr the loudest! I was declawed sometime in my younger years, I’m neutered and I have all my vaccinations. Call 910-455-9682, email capsrescue@yahoo.com or visit us online at www.capsrescue.com to adopt. ♥

WAGON TAILS FARM RESCUE My name is Winnie and I may just be the prettiest girl you will ever meet. I love to snuggle and enjoy lounging in the sunspots around the house where I can bask like the queen that I am. I enjoy sleeping with my humans at night and I wait patiently for them so that we can go to bed together. I like to lay next to my people at night so that they know that I love them; it makes them feel safe, and after all, a Queen's job is never done! To apply, please visit us online at www.wagontailsfarm.org/adopt and start the application process. For more info, please call 910-375-3105. ♥

FRIENDS OF FELINES

I'm Oreo. My owners moved away 3-years ago and left me behind. I never left the yard of that now abandoned house. When Friends of Felines came looking for me, they found me under the old camellia by my broken food bowls. My “Then” picture shows me moments later. I was so grateful that someone finally came for me. Despite being forgotten for so many years, I’m still a darling who just wants to be loved. I’m loyal to a fault and looking for a forever home. Apply at friendsofelines.org/adopt or call my foster mom at 910-232-7741 to visit with me. ♥

If you have any other dogs or children in the family, please bring them to the shelter so we can get acquainted! ♥ ◄If you’re looking for a gentle and calm girl to share life with, please come to the shelter and meet me! I’m a 4-year-old Pit Bull girl who has been really gentle when my friends give me treats, dental chews, my food, and when giving me chin, belly or chest rubs. My pals also have given me a blanket and raised bed but I would rather sit or lay by the kennel door, wiating for my turn to be adopted and have a home to call my own. My ID number is A477486. Come visit me! ♥

►I’m a happy, bouncy and playful girl, just 1-year-old and full of love for you! I’m a very pretty Shepherd mix and I’d love to be part of an active family. My name is Luna. A Shelter Friend is totally heartbroken that I was returned recently. At 2-years of age, I had a wonderful family who loved me and I loved them immensely. In my beloved family, there is a very ill little girl. I bonded with my family and especially the little girl. But sadly, the little girl was hospitalized for an extended period of time and I missed her terribly. When she finally came home, I decided that I would love and protect her, and every time someone wanted to attend to her, I would lay on her to keep the little girl safe. I was never aggressive about it but because of her fragile nature, everyone was afraid that I would unintentionally hurt her. When I was separated from the little girl, I would try anything to be with her. After all, she’s my sister. With lots of tears, I was returned to the shelter and after sleeping in bed with my much loved family, I’m in a kennel. All of my rescue friends are totally devastated and ask you to help share my story in hopes of finding a family for me to treasure. Call or text Sean at 910-918-5118 or Silvia at 910-876-0539 with A Shelter Friend to learn how you can adopt me. I am sponsored by Cindy Meyers in loving memory of Harley, Murphy and Sophie. Oh, just look at what a handsome boy I am! At 5-years-old, I’m a tan and white Pit Bull who has impressed everyone with my quiet and laid-back personality while inside my kennel. But let me get my turn to have ’outside time’ and I am running wide open with all smiles. The staff say I am a “gentle soul” and they love being around me. I was tested with other dogs and I did well with female dogs and other laid-back male dogs. If you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them with you for a meet-and-greet! My ID number is A478335 and you can find me at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. I am sponsored by Adam's Folly Pet Boarding, Bolivia, NC. I like watching you, and then when I’m comfortable, I’ll come over to greet you. I am spayed, vaccinated, litterbox-trained and microchipped. Won’t you please come get to know me? I’m looking for a kind and gentle cat-lover who will enjoy watching me blossom as we get to know one another. ♥ ►Hi there, my name is Duke! I’m a 5-year-old Black Lab mix. I’m friendly with children and other dogs, but I can be a little timid at first. My human friends believe some people in the past were not very nice to me. I’m looking for a different sort of person, one who is very patient with a big, soft heart. I love going for walks and playing in the water, and I’d enjoy a fenced-in yard for exercise and playtime. Won’t you come on over to the shelter and see if we’re a match? ♥

◄Terrific Tabby Alert! Hi everyone, I’m sweet Cora, a 1-year-old Tabby girl who just loves to cuddle with humans! I also enjoy playing with toys and would love to entertain you with my antics in my new home. I am so happy to greet people in the playroom and I enjoy purring while you pet me. I am vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and litterbox-trained. I’ll be waiting for you, so hurry over today! ♥ ◄Precious Puppy Alert! My name is Aster and I'm a 7-month-old Yellow Lab mix girl, as sweet as can be. Although I look like your typical happy puppy (and I am), I went through quite an ordeal! You see, I somehow ingested rat poison before coming to the shelter. Thankfully, my new friends got me emergency care and I ended up having five blood transfusions! As you can see from my photo, I have made a full recovery and am feeling great! I love to play with other dogs and kids, I enjoy going for walks and I just really enjoy life! I’m most definitely ready to be adopted and be someone’s sweet baby. I hope you’ll fill out a pre-adoption application for me at www.penderhumane.org. I’m ready to go home, and I would love to meet you at the shelter! ♥

Need Help Feeding Your Pets? ▲It’s me, Nova, and I’m here to be your next wonderful companion! I’m a sweet Hound girl, just 1½-years-old. I am looking for my forever home and I’d love little kids to play with. A fenced-in yard would be awesome because I have a lot of fun energy. I love playing with dogs and with toys, as well as laying belly-up in the sunshine. Come and meet me - you’ll see what a great best friend I’ll be! ♥

I’m a beautiful Shepherd mix pup named Ariel! I came to CARE with an injury which left me with permanent coordination and balance challenges. I may fall down a little more or have a few more challenges getting up, but this does not stop me from playing and running with my puppy friends. While I try hard to be a good girl, my condition can result in an accident here and there but a good routine and lots of yard space could be a big help. I’m in need of a loving home, with a yard and hopefully other dogs or kids to play with! To meet me or learn more, call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE).

Everyone at Monty’s Home wonders how a darling boy like me is still available! I’m Pirate, a very handsome and attentive 11-month-old Lab mix puppy. I am eager to please and I get along with everyone I meet as well as other dogs. I’m an affectionate fellow who weighs in at about 40 pounds. I am completing my training through Monty’s Home at the Pender Prison in Burgaw and I will make a wonderful addition to your family. Adoption applications can be found at www.MontysHome.org. I’m a super affectionate girl who loves to play with anything and cats! I’ve never been around canines but I do not think I will have any problems if introduced properly to cat-friendly dogs. I’m a petite kitty and my best friend is KitKat (pictured above). It would be wonderful if we could be adopted together. ♥ ►▼We are a new litter of four and I’m the only girl. My adorable brothers are pictured below. We are all orange and white and super cute. We’re just learning to eat on our own and become independent from our mom. We will get our cute names when our individual purrsonalities start to shine. We are now 6-weeks-old. Why don’t you fill out an adoption application today and get pre-approved?! ♥

►I’m Princess. I’m a 1-year-old domestic long-haired kitty who is a white and orange diva. I did a great job raising my litter of five and now I’m looking for my forever home. I like to chase the laser then relax for pets and attention. I tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. I’m spayed, up to date on shots and a very sweet girl! ♥ ►I’m Marlow and I’m a 1-year-old, super sweet Tabby girl. I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and take flea prevention. I’m well-mannered and prefer to stay low on the floor - no knocking over things or jumping on counters. I love to be petted and sit close to you. I will do well in any home environment and I get along with cats and dogs. ♥

▲Kids love to pet me! My name is Peter Valentine and the heart marking on my side is my signature charm point. I am very friendly and I get along with kids, cats and dogs. I was abandoned at an apartment complex, was rescued and taken to the vet. I’m 2-years-old, vaccinated, neutered, and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. ♥

My name is Skeeter and I’m the sweetest young boy with creamy orange fur. I enjoy meeting new people and I also get along well with other cats. I’m a playful fellow, too, and really enjoy chasing the laser light all around the room! My sister and I came to the shelter many months ago. She has found her forever home and I am more than ready to find mine. At 1-year-old, I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and litterbox-trained. Come scoop me up in your arms and let’s fall in love! You’ll find me at Pender County Humane Society in Burgaw. Give them a call at 910-259-7022 with any questions or apply online at www.penderhumane.org! I am sponsored by the Furry Friends Re-sale Shop in honor and memory of all the animals who've passed through the doors of Pender County Humane Society. Hi, I am Little Dog! Yeah, my name really is Little Dog...because I am a little Chihuahua mix dog at just 17 pounds! Get it? Yeah, I know that wasn’t very funny, but with age comes cheesy jokes. I am a calm and laid-back little boy, 10-years young, and I’m looking for a fresh start in life. I am very sweet and affectionate, and I enjoy taking leisurely walks on a leash. I really enjoy soaking in the surroundings and fresh air as we walk. And oh my goodness, I just adore belly rubs! So If you like going for walks and giving belly rubs, I do believe we could be a perfect fit! Won’t you come meet me at Paws Place? The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and no appointment is necessary. You can also call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org to find out more. I am sponsored by Greenwood Pet Camp in loving memory of Houdini.

All 4 Cats Adoptions by appointment. Call / text 910-707-4372 or email info@all4cats.org! ► Have you ever seen a curly-haired orange cat? I’m Shirley Temple and I am a sassy and classy girl who is very good about making her opinion known I am quite vocal. I always want to be around my people getting attention, and getting cuddles and pets. I’m playful and will be a great constant companion for someone. I’m also a diva and I don’t do too well with other cats. I want all the attention. Send us a message to meet me in my foster home. ♥

◄▼We are Sansa (Tortie) and Joellie (Tabby) and we’re bonded best friends. I was an animal cruelty case because I was dunked in a tub of motor oil as a kitten. Despite that event, I still love people and am a lap magnet. My friend, Joellie, is blind and required a surgical procedure for eyelid agenesis. You'd never know she’s blind, though, since she has the confidence to get the zoomies all over the house and seek humans out for affection. We are both very loving lap cats with lots of personality. We must be adopted together and our ideal home would be on the calmer side with no infants or toddlers. Come meet us in our foster home. ♥

►I’m Lilibet, a 10-month-old girl. I am very observant and like to watch my people and all the action. I love good food, gentle neck massages, very cozy spots to sleep, the sunshine, and wand teaser toys. I enjoy cuddling and napping in your lap. I receive a lot of compliments on my coloring and big round eyes. I don’t get along well with dogs, but I do well with people and cats. ♥ ◄Lap cat alert! My name is Nagini and I am more of a liquid than a solid because I will always melt in your arms. I am almost 1-year-old and have been looking for my forever home for 9-months. I am infatuated with tunnels and spring toys, but I love being held and having my neck scratched the most. I tolerate other animals, but I would be very happy in a house where I get all the attention. I love to chat with you, especially when I want cuddles or food. I will be such a good companion for someone looking for a BFF. Message me so we can meet in my foster home. ♥ ◄Hi! I am Oberonn, a playful 7-month-old boy with big beautiful ears. I do well with cats, dogs and children. I am looking for a family who will play with me and love me. Could it be you? I do not attend adoption events, so please contact All 4 Cats if you’re interested in adopting me. Thank mew! ♥

Adoption Fairs EVERY Saturday from 11am - 3pm at Pet Supplies Plus in Porters Neck (134 Hays Lane) or call 910-707-4372 to meet by appointment. ►I am Comett, a playful and handsome orange boy who is looking for a forever family. Sometimes my playfulness gets a bit rough, so I don’t do well with toddlers or other cats. I do fine with dogs but I will try to assert dominance on smaller dogs. I am very affectionate with people and, on occasion, I will demand your full attention by pulling on your arm. My ideal family would be able to give me lots of attention and plenty of playtime to help me get my energy out. I do not attend adoption events, so please contact All 4 Cats if you’re interested in adopting me. Thank mew! ♥

Hi, my name is Bobbie! I was once a stray who was turned in to a shelter with a severe tail injury and my 3 babies! The shelter staff reached out to CARE, a medicalneeds rescue, to see if I was a candidate and luckily I was! After some TLC, a tail amputation and vaccinations, I am now ready to find a home. I am sweet, adventurous and full of spunk. I thoroughly enjoy playing on my 3-level cat tree and lounging on a heating pad. I will quickly become your shadow and make a great addition to your home. I am also spayed, microchipped, litterbox-trained and negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. I think I would love to have siblings of my own...dogs or cats with the understanding that it will take a little bit of time for me to adjust. I can't wait to find my new family to love and cuddle with! Please call CARE at 910-256-2624 or send an email to carewilmington@yahoo.com and let’s meet soon! I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE).

Hello, friends! If you’ve had your heart set on a life filled with puppy kisses and puppy cuddles, I could be the boy for you! At 7-months of age, I’m a black and white Pit Bull Terrier who loves to meet new people and play in the shelter’s fenced yard. I am very food motivated and the staff is teaching me to “sit” before I get my dish. Like all youngsters, basic training would help me reach my full potential and you and I would bond as we learn together! If you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them with you for a meet and greet with me! My ID number is A477127 and I can be found at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. I am sponsored by the Hufstedler family in loving memory of their past loved fur babies: Ella, Rex, Misty, Buddy, Dottie and Houston.

Paws Place Send inquiries for adoption to info@pawsplace.org or call 910-845-7297. ◄Hi there, I am Angus! At just 2-years of age, I am a mixed-breed boy with a short and stocky build. I look small, but I weigh a perfectly sized 41.9 pounds. I’m a bit shy, but the humans are working hard to make me feel comfortable and I am building up my confidence day by day. I walk on my leash and harness like a professional and would love to take a walk with you when you come visit me! Won’t you please make a plan to come on over? ♥ ►Hello there, I am Holly, also known as ‘Mama’ due to having come to Paws Place with five puppies. For a 1-year-old pup, I am a sweet, sweet old soul. I am easy-going, kind and loving. I love to smile at visitors, I love going for walks and I love cuddling up to my human friends. I am a mixed-breed girl, just shy of 50 pounds, 48.2 to be exact. As much as I love my friends here at the shelter, I am ready to find a forever family. I feel I could be a perfect new addition for your home! ♥ ◄Hi friends, I am Kella! I have seen a lot of pain, healing and love for a 1-year-old pup but, despite all the pain I’ve endured, I am 43 pounds of pure cuddle bug! I’m a Terrier mix girl who absolutely loves to snuggle and spoil my human friends with kisses! I enjoy going on walks with my friends and sometimes I get to run around in the play yard. I hope to find a family who is full of life, adventure and, most importantly, love! ♥

◄Hi, I’m Bubba, a happy, chunky 3-year-old, 57.6 pound Terrier mix boy! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to play much since my arrival because they tell me I have these worms living in my heart! Do not worry, I am being treated and will be free of them very soon! As long as someone gives me pets, I am very, very happy! I am so excited to meet you and hope one day soon you’ll be walking up to me at the shelter! ♥ ◄Hello from the other sideee! (If you’re a fan of the singer Adele, that makes sense.) Anyway, I am Adele! I’m a Lab mix girl, just 1-year-old and 29.7 pounds of pure love! I just want to be petted and cuddled. You will also find me with a smile on my face when you come visit. Yep, a smile! I’d love a family who loves to go on walks and who loves to lounge on a cozy couch and snuggle! I hope you’re reading this and will come meet me soon! ♥ ◄I’m a Great Pyrenees boy named Zeus and, as you can see, I’m very handsome! I arrived at the shelter with Captain, my brother. (He is pictured on page 5.) We have come a long way, but we are still working on building up our confidence levels and self-esteem. We love playing with the other dogs here, and that has helped us open up and show our fun sides! I hope to find a patient, kind and loving family with a fenced yard so I can run free. I also hope to find a home with another furry friend for me to play with. With time and love, I’ll soon be Zeus the Greek god, brave and confident! ♥

Hi friends, I am Yoshi, not to be confused with Yoshi the dinosaur from Mario. When I arrived at Paws Place, I had a badly broken leg but, thankfully, kind doctors worked hard to save it and after many weeks of recovery, I am almost as good as new! At just 10-months-old, I am a young, mixedbreed boy who is growing like a weed! I am 34.4 whole pounds now! My shelter friends have spoiled me with love, and they tell me that one day I will leave Paws Place to go to my forever home. They say a family will soon fall in love with my bubbly personality, my kisses, cuddles, and my moneymaker golden-green eyes! It sounds dreamy, and I can’t wait for that day! I do have a couple requests: I hope to find a family with a fenced-in yard, because I just LOVE to play and run! I also love kids but I sometimes forget how strong I am, so a home that is kid-free would be ideal. Won’t you visit me? The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and no appointment is necessary. You can also call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org. I am sponsored by Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar in Carolina Beach and in loving memory of Bess and beach dogs everywhere.

Puppy Power! I’m a perfectly adorable Boxer mix boy named Linus. Wouldn’t you like to hold me in your arms like this? Well, come visit me and you can! Who knows, I may just steal your heart away. At 11-weeks of age, I am waiting at the shelter with my brother and sister, Snoopy and Patty. You can see their photos on page 41. We are wriggly bundles of energy and excitement and we’re doing very well with our pottytraining. We’ll keep any lucky family entertained! And remember, beginner obedience training is a wonderful way to bond with a puppy, and we learn so much in ‘school’! I’m at the New Hanover Humane Society, and adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm. You can also call 910-763-6692 with any questions. Looking forward to giving you puppy kisses! I am sponsored by Jackie Houser of Flexner Houser Injury Law because she can’t adopt us all!

CAT: Cat Adoption Team To adopt, please email catnc@earthlink.net or text/call 910-599-2755. ◄I’m Monroe, a playful, fearless little gray Tabby kitten. I’m a very sweet boy who likes to snuggle with my human friends once I’m finished wrestling and playing with other cats and kittens. In fact, the ideal home for me would be one with another feline for me to play with. It will be double the fun and double the love for my lucky new family! If you’d like to meet me, please call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755. ♥

◄I’m Daisy, a beautiful and adorable girl, just 4-months old. I have the sweetest disposition and I’m full of the most entertaining kitten energy. My human friends especially love my pink nose with freckles! Clarabelle, my sister, is featured on the cover, and my other sister, Minnie, is pictured on this page. If you need pink noses and toes in your life, I’m your baby! To meet me, please call or text 910-599-2755. ♥

►I’m Minnie, a precious 4-month-old brown and white Tabby with pink toes! I’m looking for a home and so are my two sisters Daisy and Clarabelle. Daisy is pictured on this page, and Clarabelle is featured on the cover of this magazine! I am sure to brighten all your days with my delicate purrs and tiny meows. And I’ll keep you entertained as I stalk my toy mice, too! To meet me and my beautiful sisters, please call or text 910-599-2755. Hope to see you soon! ♥

◄Hi! I’m Oliver, a laid-back, superaffectionate boy who loves to be near my humans as much as possible and I enjoy being petted. I just turned 3-years-old and was returned to Cat Adoption Team through no fault of my own. It’s just that my owner’s work circumstances changed. I’m a fantastic companion and lived in my former home as an only cat, but I get along with other felines. Please call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755 to meet me! ♥

◄My name is Shrimp and I’m a handsome orange Tabby. I’m gentle, friendly and loving, and I enjoy attention and lots of petting. I was adopted as a kitten with my sibling Tuna. Earlier this year, Tuna passed away and, to add to my sadness, I was returned to Cat Adoption Team because my owner moved away. I just turned 7-years-old and I’m wondering who out there reading this will give me love to mend my broken heart. I have lots of love to give to someone who would love me in return and give me a real forever home. If you'd like to meet me, please call or text 910-599-2755. ♥

▲We are 8-week-old kitten sisters named Loralei and Esmeralda! We were rescued from the great outdoors and have learned quickly the advantages of indoor living, especially those scrumptious treats! We love to play with each other and - yes, for treats - we will sit next to you for a petting session. We are a sweet pair and, although brave little souls, we’ll need someone who will help us feel more comfortable in our forever home. Please call or text 910-599-2755 to meet we two pretty sisters! ♥

ADOPT: All of our cats are anxiously waiting to be adopted! Whether you want a mellow Lap Cat or a bundle of energy, we will help you choose the cat who is right for you!

NARAYANA I’m an amazing girl who was rescued and adopted out by FURR 2-years ago. Sadly, I’m now back at FURR because I’ve been displaced from my home. My family is moving overseas and could not take me with them. I’m just a big purr box! I love to be rubbed, brushed, held and doted over. I had bad teeth and gums when I was first rescued and FURR paid to remove all my teeth. I eat just fine without painful teeth and I’m small and round just like a little football. I love treats and have no trouble eating those either. If you are looking for a purring cuddle baby, I might be for you! I’m a doll and only about 5 to 6-years young. Check out videos of me at www.catfurr.org.

DONATE: Covering medical costs, pet supplies and food are every day expenses for FURR. We accept monetary and non-monetary donations which are tax-deductible to the extent of the law!

CHARLIE My name is Charlie. I am a teeny tiny female kitty who barely weighs 5 pounds soaking wet. I have had a traumatic kitten life and in a tragic turn of events, I saw my brother killed by a coyote. I somehow survived, but I need love and a quiet household so I can build up my confidence. You will not believe how GORGEOUS I am. I look like a little stuffed animal and I love to be held and brushed. I just need someone to dote over me and give me kitty treats. I’ve already been spayed, I’m current on vaccinations and I’m all set to move in with you. Stop on by our website at www.catfurr.org and check out videos of me.

VOLUNTEER: There are lots of ways to help our cause, from raising awareness about spaying/neutering, to helping with fundraisers or simply volunteering time to care for the kitties!

I am a young dilute gray Tortie girl. I get along well with ALL the kitties at FURR and I just LOVE to chase the laser light. My next favorite thing is treats. I’ll come running when you shake the box. I hope you'll give me a chance to steal your heart away! Please come out and visit with me. You'll be so glad you did! Hey, let’s hang out and make air biscuits. My name is Benjamin and I’m a 1-year-old wonderful boy. I am a real people kitty who loves to sit next to you so you can pet me and give me head, chin and belly rubs. In return, I like to give kisses. Hi, I’m Fiona, a 2-year-old domestic shorthair girl who came to CARE with a broken leg that required surgery. I am completely healed and ready for my forever home! I would do best in a home with other pets who LOVE to play. My friends at Atlantic Animal Hospital describe me as curious, adventurous, loveable, and sometimes a little sassy! I am spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, litterboxtrained and FeLV/FIV/heartworm negative. If you are interested in meeting me, please call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. See you soon! I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE). Hi, my name is Wallen and I am still waiting for my furever home. You see, I came from not so good situation and that makes me sad, BUT I LOVE my foster parents and siblings. I know I am a bully breed and people think that we're mean, but we really aren't. I am learning my manners but sometimes I get so excited to meet new people, I try to say hello by barking a lot. My peeps tell me that I shouldn't do that and I try, but I can't help myself. I would do great with fur sisters or all by myself. I really want someone to love me forever because I have so much love to give. If you are interested in meeting me (I sure am interested in meeting you), let the peeps helping me know. If you’d like to adopt me, call Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue NC at 843-614-0231, email freedombridgeanimalrescuenc@gmail.com or visit www.freedombridgeanimalrescuenc.org! P.S. Do you like my snazzy bandanas? I am sponsored by Cape Fear Spay/Neuter Clinic. Thank you!

Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue NC To adopt, call 843-614-0231 or email freedombridgeanimalrescuenc@gmail.com. ►My name is Arlo! I'm about 3-years-old and a really handsome guy. I used to have a home but through no fault of my own, I now am looking for my new forever family. I am a little shy and a little nervous when I first meet someone, but I love you pretty fast. Some noises scare me but my previous mama taught me I would be ok and safe, so I just need a human who will tell me the same and I will be just fine. I am vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. I wouldn't mind having a fun fur sister who will be my bestest friend. I'm not sure about those little furry things who make a meow sound. I would love to have my own furever home. I hope there's a family out there for me. ♥ ◄My name is Poochie, I'm about 5-years-old and I’m super sweet. I was in a very loud place and I heard them say it was my time. I didn't know what that meant, but they all seemed really sad, so then I was sad and scared, too! Then Freedom Bridge came to save me. They told me I was a sweet girl and that they would find me my forever home. I think I'm a Cattle dog mix. I don't know, I don't think I look like a cow but whatever! I like to play with my fur step brothers, but those things that make some kind of a meow noise, not so much! My people said I am heartworm negative. I went to the vet where I was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. I love humans and if there's an open lap, you know I will be right there for rubs. I hope you’ll see my picture and want to meet me. I'm waiting! ♥ ◄Hi, Percy here. Look into my eyes and let me tell you all about me - I'm about 3-years-old. I went to the doggy doctor so I am good to go. Got me a little chippy thing so you can always find me, got all my shots and neutered. I really like playing with other furbabies, especially the ladies. Those little critters, I think they're called cats, are ok with me (if they like doggies). My foster mama loves me and always tells me what a good boy I am, but that I don't know anything about "personal space". I don't know what that means...geesh, I just love to get rubbed on. If you're there, so am I. Anyway, I wanted to let you know I'm hangin' out with my foster mama and step fur siblings just waiting for you. I hope you like me and maybe want to meet me? ♥

►My name is Brother. That's what the peeps who helped me named me and I kinda like it. I was all by myself, no humans or anyone around for a kinda long time. Then this really cool dude found me. He and his female friend gave me food (I was really hungry) and tried to help find my family. I didn't want to tell them, but I didn't have a family anymore. They talked to all the important people, put my picture everywhere, but no one came for me. Luckily, Freedom Bridge is now helping me be my best self. I went to the doggy doctor and had some boo boos taken care of. I get to eat every day now so I’m putting on some weight. You see, my bones were stickin out since I couldn't find any food on my own but now I get treats, food and fresh water. My people said I still gotta have some stuff done. I guess I have some wormy things in my heart but my people and the doggy doctor are helping me get all better! If I find my forever home before my treatment is complete, my rescue group will pay for any remaining heartworm treatments. Isn't that cool? I'm still a youngin' at about 9-months-old. I am a bully breed (I'm not a bully - I'm really super sweet) and Weimer mix. I love to play and would love a fur sister who loves to play, too. I got all my shots, microchipped and neutered. I need a home with a fenced yard so I can do my zoomies and play. Since I was by myself, no one taught me manners but I'm learning. I am so happy to be safe, warm, dry and have food but I would LOVE to find my very own family who I can love. ♥ ►My name is Victoria, but call me Torie for short. I'm about 9-months-old and life didn't start out so good. You see, my mama died when me and my siblings were born, so we all went to some really nice people who bottle-fed us and made sure we had enough food so we would grow up healthy and strong. I am a Boxer mix and I sure would love my own forever family. I can be kinda bossy, so if I have a fur sibling, a dude who lets me boss him around sometimes would be best. I am also fine if I am the only furbaby, more cuddles and treats for me. I have been learning my manners with my buddy, Jeff. He's pretty cool. He said that whoever adopts me can call him anytime they need help with me learning my manners (for FREE)! I really need a place that has sticks in the backyard (I think you hoomans call it a fence) so I can do my zoomies. I'm still a baby and have playful energy! I think little kids are ok but I probably need some who are older. The little ones make me nervous and they sometimes smell bad. Anyways, that's me. I hope you want to meet me. I sure want to meet you. ♥

I’m Miss Kitty, a beautiful and friendly 12-year-old girl. I certainly don't look or act my age. I came to the shelter with two of my friends because our mom passed away. I am getting used to living in a new place, but what I really want is a family of my own. I get along well with other cats but people are my favorite, and dogs come in last place. I am spayed, I have all my shots and I am ready for my forever home! For more info, call Carolina Animal Protection Society at 910-455-9682, email capsrescue@yahoo.com or visit www.capsrescue.com. I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

www.wcleeuwenburg.com Hi, my name is Haden but my foster mom calls me Hade for short. I am a Dutch Shepherd and Labrador Retriever mix. I’m a goober and don’t know how big I truly am. I am a little underweight so my foster mom is working on feeding me properly so that I become a healthy well-fed boy. One of my favorite things is a ball - I love to chase it in the yard. I’m such a goober that I jump way before I have to for it. If you are looking for a loveable, goofy guy, then I am your man! SOAR (Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue) Please call 910-457-6340 to adopt us! ◄Lap Cat Lover Alert! I’m Charlie, a handsome Tabby boy, just 9-months of age, and I’m everything you could want in a cat. I'm a loving and loyal companion with a sprinkle of “catitude.” I love treats and having my head scratched. My hobby is swishing my tail. I was a wonderful mother cat and now that my kittens have been adopted, I'm ready for a wonderful home of my own. My name is Maria and I have shiny, soft, black fur. Please come out and meet me at Pet Supermarket (3908 Oleander Drive in Wilmington) or call Jill with Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-620-3783. For information, updates and upcoming adoption events, visit us online at www.adoptanangel.net or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/adoptanangelnc. I am sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies and daddies who care for homeless animals.

My name is Peanut Butters. I may be deaf and half blind but I'm 100% super sweet. I'm a senior Jack Russell Terrier who was found as a stray. Thanks to Russell Rescue of the Carolinas, I'm fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and I've had a recent dental. I love to follow my foster mom around the house or sit under her feet if she's in the kitchen - hoping for snacks. Have I mentioned that I love to eat? I especially like the hot dogs I eat with my old man meds. I get along with the other dogs in my foster home and I'm extremely low maintenance. I sleep through the night, either in a comfy dog bed or with you as a snuggle buddy. My foster mom says that I know how to use a doggie door and will even let you know I have to go outside (in case you accidentally lock the door). If you love to give ear scratches, I'm your man! A home check and vet references are required if you would like to be my forever mom or dad. I am being fostered in Wilmington. I hope you will put in an application on our website at www.russellrescuecarolinas.com or you may leave a message at 910-367-5105 and a Russell Rescue of the Carolinas volunteer will get back to you.

Cat Tails Please call 910-253-1375 or email cattails@atmc.net to adopt us!

▲I’m Norris and I’m a marbled orange Tabby. This is my brother, Nate. He’s an orange Tabby, too. Unlike me, Nate is kinda of shy. I adjust to new people and places very quickly! When we came to Cat Tails, we were both hissing and trying to hide. Nate took a couple of days to show his friendly side, but I was already sitting in laps by then. We’re only 5-months-old so come meet us if you need a new friend. ♥

▲A man named Ray found us living under his porch so, naturally, I am named Ray (top left). I say “naturally” because I’m the only boy. These are my sisters: Rachelle (top right) is a pastel Tortie, Ramona (bottom left) is orange and white and Reggie (bottom right) is buff and white like me. We are all 4-months-old. We were bottle raised since it was too cold to stay under the porch, so we’re very sweet and gentle. If you come to meet us, I’m sure you’ll fall in love with at least one of us! ♥ ►I’m Kudos and nobody can figure out why I’m still here when I’m 9-months-old. I’m a great looking gray Tabby, if I do say so myself. And I’m exceptionally friendly. Sometimes I even get in trouble with people when I ask for too much attention. What I really want is a family who loves me and a warm soft lap where I can curl up and catnap. Can you help arrange that? ♥

►My name is Taz. Someone saw my “horns” and named me after a devil. Really, that’s not me at all! I’m a 5-monthold sweetheart. I may have my devilish moments but so do most cats. I would be a good member of your family. So come get me anytime because I’m ready for a forever home. ♥

▲If you have a little space, we would make a fantastic addition to your family. We are Sara and Sue. We are 9-month-old sisters and we have to be adopted together. We sleep together and play together and eat at the same time. We share the same toys and hang out in the same hiding places. It really wouldn’t be right to separate us, would it? Come meet us! Since we’re always together, we don’t take up much more space than one cat. ♥

Hi, I'm Maggie and I'd like to tell you a little about me! I have very soft velvety fur and I love to have my belly rubbed. When I'm really happy, I grin and have little dimples (see them?). I also make "Chewbacca" sounds when I'm happy, too. I like to look at you upside down which my foster mama loves because she says you can see my little bottom lip. I like to stay close to you but will wander a bit to "hunt" down a fly and catch it. Toys are kind of new to me but so far I like to throw them around and shake them. I really like spending time with my foster dad - he's my favorite but shhh...don't tell. I am quiet and calm in my crate and I sleep all night without a peep. Since I don’t hear with my ears, I’ve learned some sign language. My favorite is a thumbs up because I know that means I’ve done a good job. I absolutely love kids but they gotta be sturdy because I am a ball of love and get excited to see them. I also like other dogs and like to play with them, so going for walks in the park is great. If I'm going to be living with another furry friend, I'd like them to be a chill dog! Please contact Carolina Boxer Rescue at 910-799-5638, send an email to carolinaboxer@gmail.com, or visit www.carolinaboxerrescue.org to apply. Looking for a happy and fun Lab mix boy to share life’s adventures with? How about me! At 2-yearsold, I will steal your heart away with my bubbly personality. I am always so cheerful, I’m extremely food motivated, I love the blanket on my bed, I love my dental chews and well...I just love everything! I do not realize how big I am and will lean right into you for attention. The staff members have taken to calling me “Clifford, the big red dog”, as I have red fur and such a loveable personality. My ID # is A478785 and I can be found at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. For info, call 910-798-7500. I am sponsored by Fuzzy Peach (Monkey Junction). ♥ Free pup cups to any pet that visits! ♥ Fuzzy Peach loves pets.

Adopt-An-ANGEL To adopt, please stop by an adoption fair or call the number listed in our bios. ◄My name is Mandy. I'm 8½-months-old and I’m spayed, dewormed and have been treated for fleas. I am a dainty, orange female which is a RARE FIND! Did you know that most orange cats are boys? I was transferred from Brunswick County Animal Services alongs with my 3 brothers and they've been adopted. Now, it's my turn to find my loving furever home. I'm definitely what you'd call a "Cat's Cat". I will thrive with a companion cat (male or female). I'm submissive and will not have any behavior issues. My foster home has a submissive adult male and female and I play with both of them. So if you're looking for a companion for your cat - I'm that cat! I'm friendly, loving and affectionate and very playful at times. I might be a little shy and timid at first, but as soon as I trust you, I will make a great addition to just about any home. I have never been around children or dogs, so that's unknown. If you are interested in adopting me, please text Melinda at 910-471-6909. ♥ ◄My name is Maya. I am 8-years-old. I am a sweet, calm, amazing cuddle bug. I like nothing more than to give kisses and to share the couch with my best friend...you! I am so happy when you come home so I will greet you with my favorite toy to celebrate. I am coming along with my leash walking and I prefer to be an only pet. I travel fairly well. I am smart and intuitive. I feel safest and happiest when I am indoors. I am loving and very loyal to my people. I was adopted as a puppy 8-years ago but recently turned up at an animal shelter in South Carolina when my adoptive home could no longer keep me. I am grateful my foster mom came to get me and that my microchip alerted the group of my fate. If you would like to meet me, please call Sherry at 910-523-1254. ♥

►My name is Daphne and I was found at a gas station. No one knows if I was dropped off or escaped from a car. I am an affectionate and loving girl who is always looking for a good head or neck scratch. I am only about 7-months-old so I’m just a teenage girl. I do not seem to like dogs and I have not been around other cats or young kids. Please come out and meet me at Petco at 324 South College Road near Market Street or send a text to Melinda at 910-471-6909. ♥ ◄So nice to meet you. I’m Jenny. I am a really pretty 2-year-old Siamese mix with pretty blue eyes. I am so sweet and gentle. I came into the shelter as a stray. I seem to do well with other animals and am very out-going. I am staying at Petsense in Shallotte and you can meet me there or you can call Jill at 910-620-3783 and she can move you closer to Wilmington if you live up that way. ♥ ►My name is Bermuda. I am a young girl with a slightly longer fur coat. I'm very shy so it may take some time and patience - but then I'll open up and give so much love! I will surely blossom if you are willing to give me time and TLC. I seem to love other cats and would make a great companion for some lonely cat. Please come meet me at Petsense at 1215 West Gate Drive in Leland or call Sherry at 910-523-1254 to inquire about me. ♥

Hi there, I’m Hogan and I’m 4-years-old and weigh 60 pounds. I am good with other dogs and I don't pay much attention to cats. I came from a rural shelter where I was very thin, heartworm positive and needed a miracle. Now, I am healthy, neutered, vaccinated and house-trained. I also went to a dog obedience school for 8-weeks where I learned all kinds of things. I am a big ol’ goofball with long legs and I know the following commands: sit, down, place, and come. I am looking for a home that will continue the training I received. I would love a family with a fenced yard and other dogs to play with but no young human kids. If you are interested and would like more info, fill out an application at www.rescueconnectnc.com. You may also call RescueConnect at 910-352-5150 or 910-302-7290. I am sponsored by Pawville. Looking for a low-to-theground Lap Dog and best friend? Well, have a look at me, I’m Wesley! I’m told that I’m likely a mix between Basset Hound and Corgi, and I’m a total cutie-pie, just 5-years-old and ready to make lots of fun memories with you. As you can see, I’m carrying a tennis ball in my mouth and that should give you a clue as to one of my favorite things to do: chase tennis balls! Don’t be fooled, though, I also enjoy relaxing, especially if I can cuddle in your lap! I hope you’ll soon make a plan to visit SOAR and get to know me. Adoption hours are from 8am to Noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (closed on Thursday and Sunday). If you have any questions, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340. I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

Monty’s Home Needs Volunteers! Do you feel a tug at your heartstrings when reading about dogs in need of help? Do you wish you could help, but you're already so busy? BUT WAIT...did you know that by volunteering just 3½ hours once a month, you could be helping rescue dogs and make a big difference? It's true and your help is really needed! Monty's Home is a rescue group that rescues dogs from the Pender County Shelter approximately every other month. The dogs are temperament tested before being placed in the Pender County Prison in Burgaw. Once there, inmate trainers work with basic obedience and socialization to prepare the dogs to be wonderful pets; and they need YOU to help. Monty’s Home has a thrift shop in Burgaw. The items are donated and the proceeds are used to support the dogs while in their care. The shop is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There are two 3½ hour shifts each day. Might you be available to take a shift once a month? Volunteer applications are at www.MontysHome.org under the ‘How You Can Help’ tab. For more information, call 910-259-7911.

Do you have a farm with a barn that needs a few feral cats? Friends of Felines is always encountering situations where a colony of cats is being run off of the property they have called home for generations because of development. These cats need a new home and Friends of Felines needs your help. If you have a farm and are willing to feed, water and care for them and get good mousers in return, please send an email to friendsofelines@aol.com or visit www.friendsofelines.org.

Join the Pender County Humane Society Board of Directors Pender County Humane Society, the area’s only no-kill animal shelter, is actively seeking volunteer leaders to join its dynamic Board of Directors. Board members are actively involved in organizational governance, and are strongly encouraged to attend monthly board meetings, participate in community and fundraising events, and manage donor or community partner relationships. Board members oversee the activities of the staff at the Shelter and the For Our Furry Friends (FOFF) Thrift Store, both located in Burgaw, NC. Board members must also be paid members of Pender County Humane Society. Annual membership dues are $50/year. The board needs new members with a variety of skills, with a strong emphasis on board candidates with finance and accounting, human resources, retail sales, marketing, and social media expertise. In addition, volunteers are required to meet all staff members at the Shelter and the FOFF Thrift Store. The Board is also encouraged to connect with local business/political leaders, foundations, organized labor, and cultural organizations. Those interested in Board service can request an application and more information by emailing President John Valente at johnv115@outlook.com, and including Prospective Board Member in the subject line. Roseys Rescue To adopt, please email roseysweezers7@aol.com or call / text 910-547-0998. ►I'm going to start off saying - my name is Grace and I have a problem. The problem is that I am not allowed to live in a lot of places. Why? Because I am so majestic! Seriously, I am a Malamute/ Husky/Grey Wolf mix. I need a place that I can hang out and not get in trouble for being there. My foster mom and I have a great relationship. I'm a real sweetie and I love kids. I am vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I've been in rescue going on 3-years! Don’t get me wrong, I love my foster mama so much but I need to have a family of my own. I prefer a home with kids because I love when they lay down with me on the floor and watch TV. I don't care to hang out with other dogs and I certainly don't like cats. But, if you really want me to ‘grace’ you with my presence (see what I did there), we need to make sure I'm allowed in your county and that you are familiar with my breed. So, who's ready for a big girl like me? If you’re interested in meeting me, please contact my foster mom and she will find out if I am allowed to live in your county. Please contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥ ◄Hello, my name is Hope! I am a sweet, rambunctious girl who loves treats and toys and I love to give hugs. A nice couple found me on the side of the road and helped me get healthy. My foster mom has had me for almost a year. I love her for taking such good care of me, but I'm really looking for someone who can play with me and maybe even take me places. I love to go for rides in the car, as long as it’s not to the vet. I'm approximately 3-years-old, vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm a Treeing Walker Hound so I have a big voice and I’m not afraid to use it. Are you looking for a loving friend with energy? I'm your girl! Make sure you have plenty of stuffed toys for me to rip up because that’s my second favorite thing after riding in the car. If you would like to meet me and see if I’d be a good fit for your family, please contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄Well, I'm not El Chapo but you can call me El Chaco. I am my brother's keeper (he’s pictured below). When our dad passed away, I knew that it would forever be my job to watch over my brother, Wolfie. Truth is, I get a little nervous when we are separated (let's keep that between us). Anyway, we have been with our foster mom for 2-years now and Wolfie and I just want to have a place of our own. I don’t really care much for other dogs besides my brother, but Wolfie would play with another dog. We are such good boys and we have a lot of love to give. We are vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We love being outside and because we have such thick fur and we even like it when it’s cold outside. Wolfie and I would love to be a part of your family. If you’d like to meet us, please email our foster mom at roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥ ►What's up! My name is Wolfie (because I kinda look like one). My brother, Chaco, and I have been in rescue for almost 2-years. He’s pictured above. I love my foster mama but my brother and I would really like a yard to run around in and a couch to cuddle on. I love being outside and I love my sloth stuffed animal (I take it everywhere with me). We have a lot of fur because we are Husky/ Shepherd/Lab mixes. My brother and I have to stay together because we are bonded and both depend on each other. We have never been separated and don't want to start now! We used to live with our dad but he passed away and someone took us to the shelter. We were so scared there. Our foster mom took us home and we are much happier now. We are both 5 to 6-years-old, vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We are so ready for a family of our own. Do you have enough love for us both? To come and meet us, contact our foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

I’m a beautiful white Pit Bull girl who arrived at the shelter as a stray. My front legs are similar to what you would see in a Bulldog and everyone thinks I’m so cute! I’ve made a lot of friends at the shelter and they say I’ve been one amazing girl. My absolute favorite toy is the squishy Kong chews, but I also love playing with stuffed animals in the play yard and enjoying the fresh air. I’m about 6-years-old and already spayed. If you have other dogs or kids at home, bring them with you for a meet-and-greet with me! My ID number is A477467 and I can be found at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. I am sponsored by Robyn Davis in loving memory of Lou.

Beach Girl Alert! My name is Rue and I just love the soft sand, lapping waves and enticing smells of the beach. There’s only one problem - I have no family to take me there! I’m an 8-year-old Yellow Lab with an A+ personality. I am extremely sweet, loving and smart. I get along with other dogs and thrive in a lively home, especially with teenagers or active adults to run and play with. I will

Fresh Start Rescue To adopt, email freshstartrescueinc@gmail.com or call 910-470-6299! ◄My name is Copper and I’m about 1 to 2-years-old. I came in with an eye infection and was not eating on my own. My eyes are open and cleared up now, and I love insects. I will continue to get healthier with proper care and make a wonderful pet. I’m working on handling as I wasn't used to it from my previous home. ♥

▲Hi, I’m Pogo and I’m a wild and crazy dragon who has earned his name. I’m super active and really love running around. I will decide if I like you or not, but I’m just over 1-year-old so some of that energy is just my age. I love all food. ♥

►I was picked up by animal control in Fayetteville so I’m currently being called 'Stray Fayetteville'. I came in with no history but I look like a young adult. I eat well but really don’t like seeing other dragons. I’m a little timid with handling but I’m still trying to settle in. I should do well in a home with no other dragons. ♥ ◄My name is Rose and I was a very loved and spoiled pet but unfortunately, the country my family moved to doesn't allow you to bring exotic pets. I am well-handled and eat frozen/thawed rats with no problem. I would make an amazing family pet. Would you please be my new family? ♥

◄I’m Darrell and I’m about 8-years of age. I love my frozen/ thawed rats but I’m really not a fan of handling. I may relax with time but I may also just prefer to be a more hands-off companion. ♥

▲I’m Windsor, a large Corn Snake with a partial lower jaw. I’m not sure how my jaw got like this but with proper care, it won't be a problem. I will need cream put on it often and I will need to eat several smaller mice at a time. I’m well-handled and although I don’t love having my mouth touched, I don’t bite. ♥

►I’m Dottie and I’m about 1 to 2-years of age. I’m not a big eater but I don’t seem to have any health issues that would cause a lack of appetite. I’m still trying to discover what insect is my favorite. I’m not used to much handling, so I can be squirmy but I’ll get more used to it with time. ♥

◄Hi! My name is Toothless and I’m a large Boa who is believed to be a boy. In my last home, I was well-cared for and loved. I eat great on frozen/thawed rats and handle so well! ♥
