Design by Muller Van Severen

HAY’s successful collaboration with Muller Van Severen continues with the Ceramic Table – an outdoor table characterised by the designers’ signature minimalistic expression combined with their bold use of colour. The familiar table archetype is clearly defined in the round porcelain table top and concrete base, propelled by a strong sense of proportions and solid presence of colour in the material.

The table’s simplicity and intuitive design language give it a universal appeal that makes it suitable for a wide range of cafés, gardens, and other private and public spaces.

Type Chair Design by Jonas

Designed for HAY by Danish designer Jonas Trampedach, Type Chair’s name and aesthetics are derived from the perception of an archetypal chair. Type’s distinctively shaped back gives it a uniform sculptural expression that reinforces the chair’s sense of familiarity while retaining its own unique character.

In HAY’s first-ever chair made of aluminium, the designer merges craft with industrial processes to create a versatile seating solution that is both lightweight and functional, and blends easily into most indoor and outdoor spaces.

Crate Collection Design by Gerrit Rietveld, relaunched by Rietveld Originals x HAY

The history of the original Crate Collection dates back to 1934, when the renowned Dutch architect and designer wanted to create modern and functional furniture from surplus wooden crates.

Today’s Crate Collection shares the same aesthetic strength and precisely balanced proportions, with its simplicity and spatial design mirroring the designer’s harmonious architectural sense. Comprising a variety of outdoor tables and seating solutions, the collection’s solid pine construction with water-based coating makes it suitable for outdoor environments, from cafés and public spaces to private or shared gardens.

Collection Design by Hannes & Fritz

Hannes & Fritz’s Weekday Collection came about after a lack of seating at a dinner party prompted the designer duo to build a primitive solution, which later evolved into a collection of outdoor tables and benches.

Reminiscent of the classic picnic bench and table, Weekday offers the same sense of familiarity and invitation to shared eating experiences. Solid pine planks reinforce the strength of character and welcoming expression, while giving the furniture greater robustness and durability. Weekday’s universal quality makes it ideal for a wide range of outdoor settings, from cafés and public spaces to private or shared gardens.

Balcony Collection

Designed for HAY by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Balcony is an extensive collection of outdoor furniture. The square design is softened by the rounded edges and holes, which not only give the collection a distinct expression, but also strengthen the construction.

Made in powder-coated steel with an outdoor primer for optimal resilience and durability, the collection of outdoor furniture is well suited to balconies, gardens and other outside spaces. The Balcony Collection comprises a variety of chairs, benches, tables, and stools in different models and colour options.

Palissade Collection

Design by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Designed by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Palissade is a collection of outdoor furniture in powder coated or hot galvanised steel. United by a common principle of symmetrical geometry, the Palissade collection is engineered to reproduce the same visual simplicity and core strength throughout.

Designed in colour and form to integrate effortlessly into a natural landscape or urban setting, Palissade is intended to be used over a longer period of time and become more beautiful over the years. The collection is suited to a wide variety of environments, from cafés and restaurants to gardens, terraces and balconies.

Palissade Park Collection Design by Ronan & Erwan

The result of an ongoing collaboration between HAY and the Bouroullec brothers, the Palissade Park Bench and Park Dining Bench are part of the iconic Palissade outdoor furniture series. The benches were created from the desire to offer a flexible, modular seating solution for larger outdoor spaces, whilst retaining the same symmetrical idiom and visual simplicity as the rest of the series.

Combining multiple benches together gives users the opportunity to extend the available seating space and form unique configurations to suit specific functional and aesthetic requirements. Designed in colour and form to integrate effortlessly into a natural landscape or urban setting, the collection suits a wide variety of larger outdoor environments such as gardens, parks and public spaces.

Élémentaire Chair

With Élémentaire, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec set out to create a chair that is both aesthetically and physically balanced with a sustainable profile. Élémentaire uses 100% recycled polypropylene and the latest technology to create an ecofriendly chair that is robust enough to be a long-lasting object while still appearing delicate. Precise proportions and a clear profile give Élémentaire a charm that allows it to stand out on its own or look strong in a group. Designed for everyday life, Élémentaire fulfils basic needs in a balance of beauty and strength. Locally produced in Denmark, its durability and resilience make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Hee Collection Design by Hee Welling

The philosophy behind the Hee Series was to take an archetypal chair and perfect it down to the last detail while cutting the essentials to the bone. The goal was to create a contemporary chair to fit into a wide range of contexts. The attempt was a great success, resulting in the pragmatic and easily decoded Hee series.

Like a line drawing, it wraps metres of metal wire into neat, straight lines in three versions: bar stool, lounge chairand dining chair. Stackable and weatherproof, the wide assortment of colours and designs make Hee suitable for numerous indoor and outdoor contexts, such as bars and restaurants, as well as public spaces and home environments.

13Eighty Chair

Design by Scholten & Baijings

HAY’s 13Eighty chair designed by Dutch designers Scholten & Baijings is aptly named after the number of tiny holes in the moulded polypropylene shell. These perforations create a characteristic aesthetic, where transparency and a play of light and shadows add to the chair’s expression, while the variations in the sizes of the holes bring a sense of movement to the visual appearance.

They also have a functional use in draining rainwater off when the chairs are used outdoors. Available in a variety of designs, with or without armrests and stackable. 13Eighty is a versatile chair with possibilities for both indoor and outdoor contexts.

Neu Table Design by HAY

Part of HAY’s Neu Collection, the Neu Table features a small round or square table top attached to a tubular central pole and angled 4-star pedestal base. Crafted in outdoor powder coated steel and cast aluminium to offer greater durability and resilience, it has a versatile quality that makes it wellsuited to both indoor and outdoor use.

Its uncluttered lines give it a sleek, understated expression, making it a popular choice for public spaces such as cafés, offices, as well as private areas such as gardens and balconies.

Terrazzo Table

Design by Daniel Enoksson

Swedish designer Daniel Enoksson’s Terrazzo Table features a round- or square-shaped table top crafted in highly functional electro-galvanized steel and powder coated to make it extra resilient. For the designer, terrazzo was an obvious choice to use as the base, partly due to its excellent durable properties, but more importantly, it has such a unique and distinctive finish that makes an effective contrast against the stark simplicity of the table top.

Designed to withstand the outdoor environment, the table is suitable for all kinds of indoor and outdoor use.

Mousqueton Portable Lamp Design

Named after the French word for carabiner, Inga Sempé’s Mousqueton is an outdoor lamp that presents a functional lighting solution with a familiar yet contemporary aesthetic. The design makes use of the multi-purpose hook to create multiple hanging possibilities, enabling the lamp to be suspended over a branch, rope or other protruding elements.

Driven by the desire to create a robust portable lamp that provides a good light source outside in the garden, technical features are cleverly integrated into the design to amplify the functional and decorative qualities. With its solid construction and original design, Mousqueton Portable Lamp brings ambience to spontaneous and happy moments in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Apollo Portable Lamp Design by STUDIO 0405

Designed by STUDIO 0405, the Apollo Lamp is a portable and free-standing lamp for indoor and outdoor use that creates space and intimacy wherever it is placed. Hand-made in a single piece of opal glass, its rounded curves and unified silhouette are a contemporary interpretation of the classic lamp form.

The light source and rechargeable battery are concealed within the shade, illuminating the upper part to provide a warm, ambient glow. Apollo’s portability and deliberate simplicity of design make it suitable for using in many rooms in a domestic environment, as well as cafés, patios and other outdoor spaces.

Pao Portable Lamp

Design by Naoto Fukasawa

Developed as part of the Pao Lamp collection for HAY by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, the Pao Portable lamp is a portable lamp inspired by the atmospheric glow of the dome shaped Mongolian Pao tents at night. Concealing the lighting source inside the shade, Fukasawa creates a compact everyday object that harmonises with the environment it is placed in.

The lamp’s beautiful simplicity combined with soft ambient lighting create a warm, homely glow in gardens, cafés and other outdoor and indoor spaces.

PC Portable Lamp Design

Pierre Charpin’s PC Portable Lamp is a refined and portable freestanding lamp for indoor and outdoor use. Constructed in robust plastic and featuring a matte scratch- and water- resistant finish, its battery-powered design gives the freedom and flexibility to move it anywhere. The light source is hidden from view by a polycarbonate diffuser, available with both downlight and ambient output options, depending on the desired use.

The PC Portable Lamps are available in several mono-colour designs or a selection of playful colour combinations, making them ideal for table lighting in numerous domestic environments, as well as at cafés, restaurants, and other public areas.
