Pier System

Inspired by the magic of a composed wall, French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, wanted to create a storage system that offered the artistic potential of an open shelving solution, along with a flexible design that could adapt to modern lifestyle requirements. The result is Pier System – a multifunctional storage system for organising and storing a multitude of items, available in a large variety of set configurations that can be combined with each other. Elements that are part of these configurations can be moved around as needed and desired. Its flat-pack design and easy assembly enables it to be moved and modified to suit infinite environments and functions – from workspaces to bedroom wardrobes and hallway organisation at home.

Pier System Design by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec the Paris-based design brothers from Brittany have been working together since 1998. Ronan is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio.

They have transformed the design industry and offered new perspectives of materiality and purpose. For HAY, they have designed the Palissade Collection, Copenhague Collection, Can Sofa, Élémentaire Chair, Passerelle Table and Pier System.

Constructed from lightweight aluminium and steel and available in different colour options.
