Our commitment to reduce our environmental footprint also includes using resources in a sustainable way, so we strive to utilize the most efficient and environmentally conscious methods, tools, and materials available. We recognise that our actions have a significant environmental impact, and we therefore take our responsibility to contributing to a greener future seriously. HAY works with the best international designers to make designs in shapes, colours, and materials that utilise innovation and sustainable production methods and ensure sustainable design from the initial product development stages. Our ongoing goal is to reduce our environmental footprint, so we are constantly conducting research into the field of materials to create sustainable products with a strong environmental profile.

That’s why every new design takes the well-being of the environment into consideration at every stage of a product’s life; from the methods and materials used to produce it, to distribution, disassembly and recycling at the end of its life. At HAY, we set strict requirements for and limits on chemicals used during production, as well as limiting emissions from finished products. This benefits the environment, the health of the consumer and the people who manufacture our products.
EFFECTIVE REGULATION
QUALITY HAY’s products have a high level of quality and are designed to last for years. We select environmentally-friendly materials to ensure optimal durability and strength of the product. The majority of our products are tested by accredited testing institutes for durability, strength and safety according to international standards. DURABLE PRODUCTS
DURABLE PRODUCTS REPLACEMENT PARTS Offering replacement parts is an important way of extending the life of our products, which in turn reduces their environmental footprint. Therefore, we supply replacement parts for our furniture; gliders, fitting bags, shells, wheels and bases whenever possible.
DURABLE PRODUCTS WARRANTY HAY’s product warranty is longer than the standard in the industry. We offer a 5-year warranty on the majority of our indoor furniture, and all our other products are covered by the two-year right of complaint.
We ensure that our products are tested on a large scale, and we continually make necessary adjustments and improvements to our products, from materials to production methods and quality, wherever it is economically and technically possible. Many of our products are tested in accordance with international standards, and HAY works continually and actively to improve these HAY’sprocesses.products are well documented. When making new designs or selecting new materials, we review the content of every component to ensure that it lives up to HAY’s environmental and safety standards. HAY can provide all relevant documentation for every product.

LOCAL PRODUCTION
Using local production is an important way to limit the pollution and waste caused by transportation of our goods, such as CO2 emissions. HAY is active in three regions: EU, APAC and the US, and we have set up local supply and production chains on each continent, aiming to produce two-thirds of our products in the region where the product is sold.
