|Jeanine is a higher education professional with over 15 years of experience in postsecondary education. Her career started in student affairs advising student organizations. She then transitioned to academic affairs, where she spent the last decade. Her passion is mentoring students to develop a variety of skills from leadership, conflict management, decision-making, financial management, time management, and personal responsibility.
Over time, her experience extended to both large public and small private institutions, three Hispanic-serving institutions, and a religiously-affiliated institution. As a Department of Defense contractor working with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), she managed articulation agreements for a coalition of 155 colleges and universities providing guaranteed transferability across 975 academic programs for servicemembers and their families.
She has extensive experience working with a diverse student population of undergraduate, graduate, traditional, non-traditional, commuter, international, military, first-generation, low-income, honors, adult, and distance learners.
- All institutions in Nevada must continue to provide high-quality education at an affordable price.
- Nevada's higher education system must focus on broadening education that meets the workforce demands of the state.
- Nevada's institutions of higher learning must close the achievement gap and constantly strive for greater student retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
The NSHE Board of Regents has eight standing committees. The two I am most passionate about are the Academic, Research and Student Affairs Committee and the Business, Finance and Facilities Committee.
