Holiday for free in Austria
A generous benefactor from the federal state of Styria has started a new project to make people happy.
He wants to offer free holidays for poor families in Austria. Sponsors, hotel operators, and donors from hotel guests should make his dream come true.
“There are some families in Austria which are not able to afford a simple holiday”, explains the Styrian. “This is my target group. I want to offer them a beautiful holiday, and they don’t have to pay for it. Not even one cent”, he says.
Helpful hotels operators in Styria are the main base of the project. They offer their rooms, and place donation boxes in their hotels, to collect enough money for the organisation of the project.
The project is called “Global Family”, and already the first prominent supporters promised their help. The first one of them was the German comedian Otto Waalkes. Now also the Austrian actor Karl Markovics, the comedians Stermann and Grissemann, singer and artist Timna Brauer, actor Wolfgang Böck and singer Willi Resetarits are part of the project.
Well done! Holidays are vital and providing them for poorer families is vital work. Who know, a change of scene, a rest, a leg-up, could empower family members and help them get out of the poverty trap. Thinking myself of doing something along these lines in the UK, where I live.
