The Flow of Money by Janine Bolon

Janine Bolon, a Financial First-Responder, has a free online course to pull you out of debt and into abundance using the 60//40 System. https://the8gates.com/money

“The Flow of Money” by Janine Bolon

Okay, you’ve been working on these steps to abundance. You’ve got a vision for “why” you are saving money. You have purpose. And lastly, you have started tracking your expenses. Now, comes the time to pull all this together. Time for you to put the Flow of Money into perspective. One reason money may have not been working well for you is due to your ignorance of how it works or “flows” in and out of your life. Don’t worry, this is NOT something they teach in any school. As important as the Law of Attraction and the Flow of Money are - these principles are so basic - most folks don’t give them any thought until their money issues reach up and bite them! Money is not linear. Money does not flow like a stream from the mountains to the plains in a fairly downhill line. It is circular. Money moves in a HUGE circle. So large, in fact, that most of us don’t comprehend the size of the circle until we are actively engaged in making the circle move faster for us. Here is how it works: the flow of money is split into three large sections that move around our lives in a curved path. The Living Arm of money is the path most of us know about intimately. It is where all the expenses are located and it usually takes up 110% of our income. Yep, we spend beyond our means in this category.

The Saving Arm

of money is the least known path for Americans. We really stink at saving money. The Chinese and Japanese so have us beat in this area! Of the entire US Population, only 2% saves money. Yikes!

The Giving Arm

of money is actually well done by Americans. We are a very giving country, but the reason we don’t benefit like we could by this movement of money is due to our inconsistency of giving. We donate here, there and everywhere, but in a very sporadic way. This does not help keep the flow of money going. Consistency is the key here.

Money Must Move To get money moving in your life you need to have cash flowing to all three arms of money at the same time. That is why it is impossible to pay off your debt first and THEN save money. You must save money and pay off your debt at the SAME time. Now that you know how money flows, you’ll be able to use that knowledge to funnel cash into the areas of your life that will bring a return.

3 Steps for Achieving Mindfulness During the Pandemic Holidays By Alison Repp

Alison Repp, MA, LPC is a Mindset Mentor, speaker, and founder of LetGoandFindFlow.com, where mysticism and practicality meet for a mindset makeover. She is a mom, wife, serial entrepreneur, and proud “goofball.

3 Steps for Achieving Mindfulness During the Pandemic Holidays by Alison Repp

Mindfulness improves mental health, physical health, and overall well-being so as we enter a Holiday season in the midst of a pandemic, it is needed more than ever. When I’ve taken polls on social media, during workshops, or with clients, about 90% of people say they would like to be more mindful but they don’t know how to achieve it. Mindfulness has become a popular practice because it is a respite from our stressfilled lives. We are waking up to the idea that our lives don’t have to be a constant struggle because we have the power to transform our personal realities. We simply need the tools to unlock that power! Below are 3 steps for achieving mindfulness.

1. Turn down the volume on your thoughts

The thinking part of your brain is meant to protect you, so the majority of your thoughts are negative because it is looking for threats to your safety. You will never- I repeat, never- get rid of negative thoughts. So instead of spending your time and energy struggling with them, observe them with curiosity instead of judgment. This will enable you to turn the volume down on them so they aren’t so distracting, and allow you to spend that time and energy on things that actually matter to you in the here and now.

2. Process your feelings

Just like negative thoughts, you will never get rid of painful emotions. Pushing them down or running from them by distracting yourself are short-term solutions that result in the feelings intensifying over time. The only way out is through. Acknowledging them and fully feeling them is the only way to truly process them so they don’t take over your life down the road.

3. Contact the present moment

Once you have quieted your thoughts and processed your feelings, bring your attention to the present moment. There are many ways to do this but the most popular one is to tune into the 5 senses- what do you see, hear, feel, taste, and smell? It is common to jump to step 3, but your thoughts and emotions are always pulling you out of the present moment to the future or the past. The present moment is where happiness is found and it can’t be accessed without addressing the other steps as well. The more you practice this, the more easily you will find peace.

Local Holiday Getaways By Trisha Ventker

After experiencing a difficult and demanding year, it’s time for lots of love, joy, health, and happiness. Holidays in Colorado have always been a time to give way to the overall spirit of the day and find a place in your heart for inner peace. Winter’s imprint with bracing air, the flutter of snow, a mug of hot chocolate with a splash of cream, and the voices of music ringing throughout make for memorable memories and a lullaby of consoling sweetness. For those planning a few days away to renew the strength of mind and further the holiday season celebration, I’ve selected three hotels from a splendid selection of Colorado resorts and boutique properties for a staycation, two of which are in Denver and the St. Julien Hotel and Spa located in Boulder. All three are enforcing stringent hygiene standards and have inspired and award-winning chefs who have mastered the craft of creative cuisine. Appreciating that it’s time for sure to support and rally round our local businesses, and to renew the passion of travel.

Local Holiday Getaways: The Art Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton by Trisha Ventker

The Art Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton The name says it all; it seems the Hilton draped a large color-laden blanket over the property with help from the local artists. Located in the heart of Denver, the hotel welcomed my friend Alison and me with the rainbow colors of contemporary art that caught my eye with a sparkle and thankfully set the pandemic aside for the moment. The 165-room Art, opened in 2015, is a classic Denver boutique hotel with two intriguing art galleries, sweeping glass windows, and a porte-cochere ceiling designed with 20,000 LED lights creating mesmerizing patterns. A must see this holiday season is a collection of Pop art Christmas trees celebrating the planet’s greatest Pop art artists including the famed Vance Kirkland who established the Modern Art Movement in Denver. Others are Andy Warhol, Roy Lichenstein and Claes Oldenburg, all created by The Perfect Pedal, a local florist. Located in the Golden Triangle neighborhood, the hotel is surrounded by culture which helps to restore a sense of optimism. The Art Hotel 1201 Broadway, Denver, Colorado 80203 303.572.8000 thearthotel.com Spend the holiday in the ambiance of Denver’s winter and captivating contemporary artwork throughout The ART Hotel, located in Denver’s cultural Golden Triangle Museum District. Spearing holiday cheer, the property takes a playful twist on classic Christmas tree decorations by decking the lobby and halls with elaborate Pop-ART Trees (think: Andy Warhol inspired Christmas trees!), artfully designed by local florist, The Perfect Petal. Guests can also take in the snow-capped mountain views and bustling downtown scenery by the fire pits on the FIRE Restaurant Terrace while sipping on a warm winter cocktail, the Smoked Manhattan. The experiential cocktail takes a spin on the traditional manhattan, infused with orange zest and smoke.

Local Holiday Getaways: The Brown Palace and Spa, Autograph Collection

The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection Walking past the historic Brown Palace numerous times, it always looked to me like a huge cruise liner ready to set sail, though luckily for Coloradan’s it’s been in place since 1892 and is even listed on the prestigious National Register of Historic Places. Touring the hotel it’s certainly a palace with old world elegance not unlike those in Europe. The atrium lobby ascends eight stories high capped by a stained-glass skylight, and amazingly it’s one of the first atrium-style hotels ever built. I found the guest rooms warm with rich decoration creating a cozy cocoon of personalization and comfort, and abundant space for relaxing and recharging. Marriott Bonvoy has kept the Old World tradition in place with a stylish Afternoon Tea in the Atrium with live music which is definitely on par with The London Ritz. Pet friendly, the Brown Palace is a Colorado treasure. The Brown Palace and Spa, Autograph Collection 321 17th St, Denver, CO 80202 303.297.3111 brownpalace.com

Local Holiday Getaways: The St. Julien Hotel and Spa

The St. Julien Hotel and Spa I’ve enjoyed the St. Julien numerous times, my last visit being in late October with my friend, Wendy. Locally owned and first opened in 2005 in downtown Boulder, the hotel is steps from the pedestrian-only Pearl Street Mall and a gaggle of restaurants and shops with attractive lights and holiday displays. Offering 201 accommodations the St. Julien is noted for an exceedingly attentive staff without an ounce of pretension, and stellar, uninterrupted views from room balconies of the city or of the Flatirons, tilted rock formations on Green Mountain in the midst of 45,000 acres of Boulder’s protected space. I adore the oversized bathrooms, the indoor pool, and the large bar area with a crackling fireplace and live music in the evenings. Casually chic, St. Julien is sure to stir the holiday spirit with Jill’s restaurant serving a tasty adult hot chocolate and zesty mulled cider along with special holiday menus. The guest rooms have been recently renovated and there is an inner peace with hand sanitizers at every corner, linens cleaned in high-temperature wash, and high traffic areas regularly sanitized. Of great importance to me and my family is the frequency of the hotel’s HVAC System Cleaning that has maximized fresh air exchange, in addition to MERV8 air filters in each room, and individual fan coil units isolated to each guest room. Thank you, St. Julien. The St. Julien Hotel and Spa 900 Walnut St, Boulder, CO 80302 720.406.9696 stjulien.com During a time when we’ve been reminded to appreciate the little things, St Julien Hotel & Spa is savoring the season a little longer and taking it back to the basics this holiday season. With traditions that span a decade and a half, St Julien brings festive décor in a warm, casually elegant setting certain, sure to inspire the holiday spirit. Jill’s Restaurant offers one of the best adult hot chocolates in town, as well as a warming mulled cider and special holiday menus. St Julien is just steps from Boulder’s charming lights and holiday displays, as well as Pearl Street’s shops and restaurants, making it the ideal home-awayfrom-home this holiday season. Book a staycation in one of the hotel’s recently renovated guest rooms, and enjoy a $50 hotel credit per stay, to use anywhere on property.

Holiday Red

By Michael Moore

“Holiday Red” by Michael Moore

I am here to tell you how to make this Holidays face FOOLPROOF! A big trend of the holidays is a Holiday Red lipstick. However, to pick the right one for your skin tone is not the easiest. Fortunately, I am going to help you! Fair skin: If you have fair skin, consider a shade with more of an orange tone. This will instantly brighten your complexion. Think of a garden red tomato, or a rich piece of red coral. I am not saying you cannot go with a deep red, but please stay away from a blue-red, as this will make you a bit too harsh. *Try Well Red with a Valentine lip liner from Moore For Life.

WELL RED LIPSTICK $29.00

Medium skin: Think about a cooler red. This means blue, no orange at all. This commentary tone will make your skin tone pop. Think about a Cranberry or Crimson tone. Wearing a shade that is right for you will TRULY make you the belle of any ball. *Try Sheer Intensity lipstick or a long-lasting lip satin called Garnet from Moore For Life. Michael Moore has worked in the cosmetics industry since 1988 with brand leaders such as Bobbi Brown Essentials, Chanel, and Estée Lauder. In New York City, he was often seen backstage during fashion week, supporting major designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Bob Mackie, and Vera Wang.

Michael’s client list includ-

ed Oscar winners, First Ladies of the United States, and royalty.

Eventually, the quality of the Colorado lifestyle—the healthy, natural atmosphere that inspires his technique—drew him out west, where he opened Moore For Life in Denver’s own center of chic, Cherry Creek North.

SHEER INTENSITY LIPSTICK $29.00

Dark skin: The darker skin tone lady often thinks they have to go much deeper and intense… NOT TRUE. Darker skin usually means a darker lip. To make a sheer lipstick show, even out the lip color by smoothing over a lip foundation; same shade as the lip or a shade lighter. *Try a moisturizing matte in Escape Artist which is long wearing. You can add a gloss on top.

ALL THAT GLITTERS LIPGLOSS $29.00

Things to consider when wearing reds: -Experiment with more intensity if you have stronger coloring. For example; dark hair, whiter skin or lighter eyes. A natural contrast will give you many more options. -A deep red will tend to make your lips look thinner. -Don’t play both too many features; when wearing a red lipstick, keep the eye clean and light.

Red-carpet fresh look: Here in Colorado, we tend to be drier, lacking luster in your skin. So how do we get that amazing red-carpet fresh look? Strobing is all about enhancing your features by using a highlighter. A highlighter is a liquid or crème shimmer used alone on the skin or mixed into a foundation. It brings shimmer to the surface of the skin; giving a more illuminated effect to the face. *Try Dew drops from Moore For Life: comes in 4 different colors to make sure all skin tones will have the prefect highlight. This is a simple and easy way to get you in the holiday mood with a classic red lip and youthful fresh face! Enjoy the season and make it a beautiful time with Moore For Life! mooreforlife.com
