DTell us about Wipeys!

KWipeys is a line of toxic-free cleaning wipes for devices, faces, hands and surfaces that I created right here in Denver. For me, it was very important that we stay away from synthetic fragrances in our wipes and only include ingredients that have natural cleaning benefits, like rose, eucalyptus, peppermint and citric acid. It should be easy for us to find natural cleaning solutions that can be used anywhere, which is why each Wipey is individually wrapped for easy storage in a purse, gym bag or suitcase. Not to mention, Wipeys are made with the greater community in mind. They are not only cruelty-free, but they are also made with a biodegradable material called spunlace that does not require composting.

DWhat inspired you to create Wipeys?

KWhen I got engaged in 2017, I immediately started thinking about my wedding day, and my acne was one of my first concerns. It can be so hard to control, and anyone with acne knows how badly a zit can make you feel. I didn’t want to worry about that as a bride, so I started paying attention to my products and everyday habits to attempt to determine a cause. I quickly noticed that I would get my worst break outs on the cheek that I rested my cell phone on, and after some research, I discovered a disgusting statistic: Your phone is ten times dirtier than most toilet seats! I tried finding an all-natural device wipe to clean my cell phone, but there was nothing on the market. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, so I just decided to create a solution myself. It started with the device wipe and quickly turned into a whole line of products. And so, Wipeys was born!

DWhat was the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an entrepreneur?

KAfter a few years of creating product and organizing the business side ofthings, we were so excited when Wipeys finally hit shelves in March of 2020. Yes, you read the right. Days before the pandemic began, welaunched a cleaning wipe. Obviously, the timing of this was not planned, but wow did it make for a quick start!

Kaitlin Moss

Obviously, the timing of this was not planned but wow did it make for a quick start! That meant the learning period was practically non-existent, and there was no time for errors. It wasn’t long before we started running out of product while manufacturing facilities could not keep up with demand. We began selling out with month-long wait times, and life was just so crazy! We were learning on the fly and hustling at extreme levels, all while trying to navigate a pandemic that was dictating every detail of our lives. The immediate excitement about Wipeys was invigorating during a time when we all could have used some motivation and positivity, and I will always be grateful for that. But needless to say, it was incredibly stressful!

DAny advice for others who have an entrepreneurial spirit?

KI’ve found that during the introspective process that comes during a decline, we end up uncovering solutions that take us right back up to the top. That time where you’re scrambling with trials and errors, whether it’s with design or formulas or marketing tactics, is so incredibly important. It’s the frustrating but integral part of the journey that can be easy to forget during the exciting development phase. You just have to remember that both the solutions and failures will truly make for a betterbusiness. So, for any other entrepreneurs out there, be patient. Begin your business expecting a few bumps, and it will make for a lot easier ride.

DWhere can we find Wipeys?

KYou can find Wipeys online at TravelWipeys.com or in select stores. We’re constantly partnering with new retailers so check out our most up-to-date list on our website as well. Wipeys are available for purchase in either a box of 20 individually packaged wipes or a Jet Pack which is a replenishable bag filled with a few of each wipe perfect for travel and made easy for packing!

Flaunt

Fashion students attend the Instituto Masrangoni from throughout the world including the US Milano’s Instituto Marangoni covers all aspects of fashion. Fashion Designer, Andres Romo, arrived in Italy, attended fashion school and is now enjoying success Milano based Franzi dating to 1864 offers elegant purses (bags), Italian made with fine leather Milano is filled with sidewalk cafes and fashion shopping. The Vittorio Emanuele II offered the original boutiques of Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

Milano, Northern Italian Fashion Flaunt

Torn scattered clouds drift over a spirited and scrupulously sophisticated Milano--as it is known in Italy--casting long imaginative shadows over a massive cathedral, ancient stone churches, and meandering streets lined with dazzling multicolored display windows draped with the fashion of the day. The fickle Northern Italian sky is vague and unresolved, the rolling clouds as endless as the sea, while the Sforza Castle, 1450, overlooks the city like a faithful guardian.

The city, with a personality and demeanor unlike any other in Italy, is home to some of the world’s top fashion designers whose original and inspired thoughts have come together forming a powerhouse of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and vision. Today’s implausible collection of creativity by way of Milano’s own Prada, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Giuliano Calza’s GCDS, and Giorgio Armani, have created Milano’s own independent fashion history. It’s a city that adores fashion and does it all so well. In Milano, the style and cut of a hand-tooled briefcase becomes a status symbol and, observing the Milanese on their way to work, it’s easy to see that dressing with style is far from an anomaly. In the mold of Italian tourism, Milano has quietly played a distant fourth fiddle to Rome, Florence, and the canals of Venice despite its rich history to share. “Our city is like the decanting of a fine bottle of Chianti,” remarked, Celia Abernethy, an attractive Milanese Itinerary Designer, and former model. “It takes a little time for the wine to become truly sensuous, but it’s well worth your patience. Milano is a city waiting to capture your heart. Make the commitment and you’ll see.”

Duomo Bravura

While the fashion houses set this splendid city’s style sending rich colors blazing skyward, the Piazza del Duomo, dating to the 14th century is home to a towering cathedral, historic buildings, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, possibly the world’s first shopping mall, and the original boutiques of Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. On a sunny day, the expansive area that surrounds the cathedral, ranked among the most ambitious and original architectural creations of the later Middle Ages, teems with European students and young Milanese couples fired with passion who lounge on the steps of the Duomo practicing their playfully refined art of fondling each other while fully clothed.

Fashion Quadrilateral

The city and her glorious sacred treasures have an eye for expressive fashion. Via Monte Napoleone is reportedly Europe’s most expensive street per square foot and makes up one side of the famed Fashion Quadrilateral, which also includes Via Alessandro Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia. Together they are an esteemed European shopping destination, and the hallowed roaming grounds of fashionistas from around the globe. Energy, imagination, and trade expertise are alive throughout the Fashion Quadrilateral where the large concentration of haute couture labels, ready to wear garments, jewelry shops, boutiques, showrooms, a fashion museum, cafes, and bookstores are lined up wall-to-wall. The fashion houses of Versace, Fendi, Armani, Alberta Ferretti, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Valentino, Bulgari, and Cartier, are only the beginning of a stroll through the Quadrilateral.

Milano, Northern Italian Fashion Flaunt

When the afternoon collapses into evening, the teeth of nightfall gnawing at the light, display windows catch the last rays, the wawl of traffic singing its song, as walkways become an Italian movie set of street entertainers, couples at small sidewalk café tables pledging never-ending love, welldressed college students, arm-in-arm, devouring gelato cones, while others check the tower clock in eager anticipation of the 9 p.m. dinner hour. Like the Milanese proudly say, “We dress our best and that’s why Milano is the crowned queen of Italy.”

Instituto Marangoni

The Milano school of fashion, design and art founded by Giulio Marangoni in 1935, is among the premier fashion schools hosting students worldwide, and during Milan Fashion Week featuring the collections of the ten foremost fashion students. The vitality and passion within the walls are intense and overriding, students striving towards a lifetime dream, a huge bell of fabric hanging on wellused mannequins, pins dangling from mouths like toothpicks. In another area students are sitting at long tables sketching, the subdued room a heavy gesture of inspiration, creative thoughts banging heads with eyes lost in their sockets; eyebrows curved like willow leaves.

Franzi Milano: A brand with a story to tell

With Celia Abernethy opening doors for us, the skirl of the pervasive motorbikes fading, we enter the sacred Franzi studio and meet Marco Calzoni, Creative Director of Franzi, an illustrious leather bags and luggage brand founded in Milano in 1864 by Rocco Franzi. Franzi is Italy’s oldest Italian brand of luxury leather creations, and the first to use vegetable tanning. By the early 20th century Franzi was a supplier to royalty and nobility, and Guccio Gucci, while learning the trade, worked for Franzi until he founded the house of Gucci in 1921. Franzi, with their long-standing artisanal tradition, in addition to bags and luggage, have also created interiors for luxury cars, yachts and brilliant furniture designs. Presently Franzi is vividly bringing a vanished era back to life, while drawing inspiration from the first queen of Italy with their Margherita Bag, “The Queen of Handbags,” named after Margherita of Savoy, Created in Italy with the finest leather, embellished with a pattern from the 1940’s, with one artisan in charge of one bag from beginning to end. franzi1864.com

L’Artiginato

The collection of inspired and creative intellects in Milano is captivating. Eric Egan’s exquisite L’Artiginato studio, across the city from Franzi, is where walls are afire with large format art, elegant artistic wall paper designs, subtle decorative art pieces, and furniture with a personality, illustrate the creative genius of Egan. Born in Chicago, a Milano resident for some 24 years, he is one of the world’s top interior designers with a resume that could reach to the Duomo and embracing everything from historic renovations to Venice’s Gritti Palace Hotel, historic 17th century Italian farmhouses, hotels and private estates in South America, Asia, and the United States. ericegan.com

After a few days in the city the Milano mystic took hold, an impulsive anonymous ecstasy, and appreciating that Milano has two premier fashion schools. I questioned our companion, Celia Abernathy, a resident of both Milano and Lecco at Lake Como, “Does Milano have too much fashion? She quickly answered, “No! Just enough.”

Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

In the heart of Milano and highly ranked scholastically, the expansive, Universita Cattolica dating to 1921, is noted as the world’s largest Catholic University, and the largest private university in Europe, the fashion departments hosting students from throughout the world including Antonia Ventimiglia from Washington State, who said, “I love the city, the architecture, and the fashion. It’s a place to learn.” ucsc.com.it

Andres Romo – Mexico to Milano

Fashion Designer, Andres Romo, first arrive in Italy in 2006, attended a fashion school in Rome. “I first had to learn Italian, and during the early years it was difficult. I have two styles in my work, one house is Mexico, the other Latin. I love romance, elegance, and femininity, the collections all made in Italy. I adore belts, and a fresh young look, nothing like we see on the fashion streets in Milano. I cook Mexican dishes when I have the time and La Piedra Del Sol is Milano’s best Mexican restaurant. Milano is a cultural phenomenon. The city has it all.” info@andresromo.it andresromo.it

Chef Richard Sandoval

DPlease tell us about yourself:

RI am the CEO, Founder and Owner of Richard Sandoval Hospitality. Our hospitality group has over 60+ locations across 4 continents, 11 countries and 10 US states. It all began with my passion to introduce Latin cuisine to the world. I learned many of my own business skills from my father who was a restaurateur in Acapulco. From my Grandmother in Mexico City, I developed my love of cooking. However, my focus growing up was tennis. I wanted to be a professional tennis player and was playing in college, and I had to decide whether I was going to go teach tennis or go into another profession.

Growing up in Mexico with my grandmother I was always around a lot of food. Everything in our culture revolves around food...I was always migrating towards the kitchen so I chose to go to culinary school. I enrolled in the CulinaryInstitute of America and opened my first Modern Mexican concept, Maya, in 1997. Denver was the next market that I opened a restaurant in shortly after – Tamayo is celebrating it’s 22nd anniversary in Larimer Square this year. Another RSH restaurant in Denver is Toro, a Pan-Latin restaurant & lounge located in Hotel Clio in Cherry Creek. We also have restaurants in the mountains - including Venga Venga and Toro in Snowmass, and Stoke & Rye in Beaver Creek. It’s been fun to continuously open restaurants in Colorado over the past 20+ years – this is one of my favorite places in the world.

DYou began your career with French cuisine. Why the shift to Latin, and specifically Mexican, cuisine?

RI craved the cooking of my childhood in Mexico City and my grandmother’s kitchen. She taught me to respect fresh, authentic ingredients and the vibrant flavors that turned family dinners into events. I also felt that there was an opportunity to reintroduce authentic Mexican to American diners, who mistakenly thought that all Mexican food was fast food or Tex-Mex.

Chef Richard Sandoval

DWhat do you love about designing the perfect dish?

RMy cooking style is “old ways, new hands,” where I take the authentic Mexican ingredients Iused with my grandmother and put a modern, global spin on them inspired by my world travels.

DShare your most recent awards and accreditations with us?

RI was humbled to receive “National Toque d ’Oro,” Bon Appetit’s “Restauranteur of the Year,”Cordon d’Or’s “Restauranteur of the Year” & James Beard Semi-Finalist for “Outstanding Restaurateur.”

DWhat are some of the latest trends you’re seeing in top restaurants around the globe?

RInteractive & Theatrical cuisine, which we are having fun experimenting with at some of our restaurants. For example, at dLeña in Washington DC, we mezcal-flambée a Tomahawk steak table-side on a cartthe guests love it! I am also seeing salsa macha as a 2023 food trend –which is a rich & slightly spicy, nutty salsa that hails from Veracruz, Mexico. It’s delicious!

Nobu Residences Los Cabos

The tip of Baja or Land’s End was calling me again with a second visit to the elegant Nobu Hotel and Residences, this being my fourth trip to Los Cabos Sur and the Baja peninsula stretching over 1,000 miles from the Mexican border to Cabo San Lucas. I’m always amazed at the vast Baja panorama with miles of cactus strewn wilderness, beaches galore, dazzling Joshua Trees, ancient volcano risings, and bordered by the Gulf of California and the immense Pacific Ocean. Baja might not be the Last Frontier, but it is an impressive and vital memory. This time I’m traveling with my friend Kath to research and explore Nobu’s 60 residential offerings. I’m aware from my numerous trips to Baja Sur that there are many Americans and Canadians who reside in Los Cabos or own homes in Los Cabos. I’m also aware of the U.S. State Department’s warning about travel to specific areas of Mexico, though Los Cabos is rated among the best traveling options in the country. Regardless, I’ve found that it’s always best to check when traveling abroad.

Landing at the International Airport in San Jose del Cabo the 35-mile ride along the corridor to Nobu took 45 minutes, then five miles past Cabo San Lucas to Diamante and Nobu, a double-gated community with grand views of the Pacific. During the drive passing numerous ocean view resorts and hotels, I honestly believe that Los Cabos offers the finest collection of upscale luxury hotels in Mexico if not all Latin America with Nobu near or at the top of the list. With an assemblage of the finest chefs anywhere and for those who like to chill out on the golf course, Los Cabos also has some 18 championship golf courses, seven ranked the best in Mexico.

Nobu Los Cabos Residences

We were booked in Ashai, an attractive two-bedroom beauty that was stunning throughout. Designed with a modern Japanese minimalism interior, and a pleasing touch, the furniture throughout was handcrafted by local artisans. The bedrooms were expansive as were the separate living and dining areas. I adored the spacious bathroom with two shower heads and the spa-like Onsen teak soaking tub to soak away the ills of the world. I also noted that the kitchen area was completely stocked with the necessary utensils. After spending a few hours in Ashai, I felt our booking was undeniably luxurious and comfortable with the clean, uncluttered lines of minimal Asia, as was Hikari, a one-bedroom residential offering quite similar to Ashai.

Later we checked out three other Nobu residential possibilities, all with various views of either a garden, the desert landscape, golf course or ocean. We found Sakyu to have three bedrooms, an enchanting private pool, large open chef’s kitchen for those who bring or hire a chef, and a pool table for the skilled. Another step up was the Kogane Penthouse, perfect to entertain guests with four-bedroom suites and patios, chef’s kitchen, pool table, and a hydro spa tub. I was informed that the Nobu residences are not a timeshare but a membership, and best of all those booked in the residences have full access to the many Nobu hotel amenities, which we were anxious to experience.

Nobu’s Memoire

Nobu Matsuhisa has a fascinating story to tell. Forward thinking and brilliant, inspired by Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, Nobu in 1987 opened his first restaurant in Beverly Hills. Actor Robert De Niro, who became intrigued with Nobu’s dining expertise and later became an investor in the Nobu empire, convinced Nobu in 1994 to open a restaurant in Tribeca, his hometown, a chic neighborhood in New York City’s Lower Manhattan. Expanding, Nobu opened his first hotel in 2015 in Las Vegas, and in 2023 Nobu now has 32 hotels with residences in Toronto and Los Cabos, with dining among the top priorities. The setting on the most southern edge of Baja is simply captivating. The hotel is mid-sized with 200 guest rooms and suites, space for meetings and events, and a luxurious spa. Living in New York City as a single girl wondering about life, I was familiar with Nobu. I dined at Nobu for the first time in Soho, and now my Nobu dining list includes Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, and now Los Cabos.

Dining Nobu

Nobu hires only the best and Executive Chef, Paolo Della Corte, is a winner. Over a weekend our taste buds were zinging with delight. Friday, at Muna, a rooftop restaurant with views, my selection was potato bravas sprinkled with harissa aioli and dill. A tasty ricotta and feta dip, slices of beet, and a light Greek Ladolemono dressing. I was sipping a Graviola decorated with diamond ice, gold flakes and edible flowers. Saturday, following a vigorous walk on Suspiro Beach we dined at Nobu Restaurant, diving into a delightful Rock Shrimp Tempura created with a creamy and spicy jalapeno essence with Shishito peppers adding a further pizzaz. Dessert, always a favorite, was a Tres Leches Sponge topped with vanilla cream and watermelon sorbet. Sunday, at Ardea it was a difficult selection, but I finally decided on a roasted beef bone marrow glazed with tamarind, a raw beef tartar, and of course, a jalapeno relish with a sourdough beer ciabatta, then a braised short rib bone with Mexican tangy spices. The sweet flair was a Gianduja “hazelnut” tiramisu and a steamy espresso Madagascar coffee.

During the day while exploring the property we stopped at the Playabar for a taste of Mexico with the famed homemade guacamole, a plate of roasted tomatoes and aged cotija cheese, followed by an avocado pizza, Mexican style, including jalapeno, ricotta cheese, cilantro, and agave serrano chili, topped off with churros slathered with chocolate and caramel sauce. We enjoyed breakfast at The Restaurant serving oatmeal pancakes created with bananas, maraca pine mousseline and homemade Nutella sauce, leaving enough room for a mushroom and spinach quiche, and of course, a vanilla oat milk latte. Dining aside, after enjoying Nobu’s creative cuisine, slipping into the elite Nobu Simmons bed with high thread count bedding and organic cotton linens, was a heavenly delight. My time at Nobu and Los Cabos was another lasting memory. After four visits to Los Cabos, I’m eager for number five. Nobu Los Cabos Residences

Vista Verde Ranch

Trisha Ventker

Vista Verde Ranch

Arriving at Vista Verde, just north of Steamboat Springs, the snowcovered foothills of the Rocky Mountains were secretive against an intense enamel blue sky in the heart of winter. Threads of brilliant sunlight were sneaking through the clouds igniting sparkles on the thick blanket of snow. I immersed myself in the moment, the crisp air spicy and fresh, and somewhere in the faraway wintery silence, I heard a winter bird singing a song, or maybe it was my imagination or a magical moment.

Traveling with my friend Brie, this was my second visit to Vista Verde and in terms of travel I’ve always believed that the second or third visit to a city or resort is the essence of truly understanding the destination. My first visit was during warm weather and this time it was an entirely altered experience.

Opening the door of our South Fork Cabin it appeared to me as if we were stepping into an Albert Bierstadt painting. The cabin also offered a splendid view of a large pasture buried beneath three feet of fresh snow, truly a winter wonderland, and the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the majestic beauty of the mountains. The cabin, with great use of craftsmen-style wood, was the essence of the Old West, Colorado Country or Ranch-Style Elegance, endowed with two bedrooms, kitchenette, family room with a blazing fireplace, and a porch with a hot tub. After a hectic but busy week in Denver, the cabin was a wonderful setting to finally unwind and take pleasure in the peaceful splendor of the mountains.

Sleighride with Georgie

Our first outing was a glorious 45-minute sleighride with an adorable draft horse named Georgie, who guided us through an enchanting environment, the serene rhythm of Georgie’s hooves captivating. To me, the snow was absolutely enchanting, reminiscent of a childhood memory, as we glided over a bracing landscape, the majestic mountains dominating, and hoping that Georgie was enjoying the moment as much as we were. Surprisingly, the ranch has 100 American saddle and draft horses; my last visit I enjoyed riding Hank, and the wranglers told me that Hank was doing fine and is robust and strong.

With intense strands of sunlight struggling through the clouds, the air stimulating and crisp, we refreshed at the cabin and walked to the Lodge where it was buzzing with guests eager for Happy Hour. The Lodge, a main gathering place for guests, had a roaring fire in the fireplace, cozy seating, games, and books. Relaxing and considering, I again realized that Vista Verde is a work of splendor, and this being the second time around, I was again sensing a pleasurable feeling of affable hospitality. The all-inclusive, 540-acre ranch, at 7,720 feet altitude, was first a cattle ranch, and in 1970 a guest dude ranch was in place. The 50-guest property, 25 miles north of Steamboat Springs, is tucked away in the Elk River Valley, within the Routt National Forest. Routt encompasses an incredible 1.1 million acres of wilderness stretching to the Wyoming border with a profusion of mountain ranges, lakes, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, guided horseback outings, and crosscountry skiing throughout the winter.

Vista Verde’s Cooking Skills

During dinner we sat with a lovely family from Southern California who were enjoying the ranch and Colorado too. Award-winning Executive Chef Jonathon Gillespie was again at his best. His culinary delights included stuffed jalapenos comprised of quail, peppered bacon, Oaxcan cheese and black raspberry chipotle sauce. My entrée was braised short ribs that melted off the fork, accompanied with glazed rainbow baby carrots, rich whipped potatoes with red wine, and black truffle braising jus. I had just enough room for a delightful dessert of tropical dark mousse with mango coulis and pineapple. Chef Gillespie also presents cooking classes where guests can learn some of his cooking secrets. I was impressed by the quality of the Ranch’s cuisine, and the variety of options which embrace vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The walk back to our cabin was invigorating under an ominous sky, and my bed was super comfy with a pillow top and layers of soft cozy blankets.

Peppermints in The Pasture

The following morning with great pleasure we enjoyed a country breakfast of buttermilk pancakes and Vermont maple syrup. I loved the fact that they warm the cups before serving coffee and tea, which was a clever touch that made my tea even more pleasing. After breakfast we were invited to partake in a unique experience, “Peppermints in The Pasture,” where we groomed and brushed the horses and also treated them to pungent peppermints, which the horses loved. I was informed that some guests had never been up close to a horse, so this was a unique way to bond with the horses and experience a deeper connection with the animals.

The highlight of the trip for Brie was horseback riding through meadows, forests, and streams, appreciating the tranquil sounds of nature and the stunning scenery. Brie said that she felt a sense of freedom and adventure as she explored the vast landscape on horseback, and that the talented guides matched her with the perfect horse for her skill level, which was a huge advantage in making the experience both comfortable and enjoyable.

For lunch we dug into a homey and satisfying homemade chicken pot pie. By now I didn’t bother to count the calories on My Fitness Pal. I just wanted to enjoy a guilt-free lunch while on the road. The dessert, homemade cookies, were reminiscent of brownies and so delightful I tucked a few extras in my pocket and brought them back to the cabin for a snack in front of the fireplace. So much for calories.

Final Thoughts

On both visits the staff was helpful yet unobtrusive, making us feel comfortable and welcome. We appreciated Vista Verdes attention to detail, and without a speck of pretension or attitude, and with a hefty ratio of staff to guests to ensure excellent service. The Ranch is Colorado luxurious and the ideal place to connect with nature.

A Colorful, Vibrant Wedding at Catbird Hotel

Last year, couple Callie and Zach Harmon chose Denver’s Catbird for their wedding ceremony and reception. The hotel’s colorful and quirky atmosphere resonated perfectly with the dream the couple had in mind for their special day.

Wanting to create a space where their guests felt warm and embraced, the couple decorated Catbird’s rooftop bar, The Red Barber, with garlands of brightly colored tassels in pink, yellow and blue. Festive disco balls, mismatched bottles of flowers and colorful glasses added pops of color to every nook and cranny, allowing the couples’ equally colorful and fun personalities to shine through. A glass ceiling hung with strings of twinkling lights protected the dance floor from Denver’s unpredictable weather, and on this particular day, it allowed guests to enjoy one of Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine.

In Denver’s buzzy RiNo neighborhood, which Callie and Zach call home and have spent much of their relationship, they exchanged vows before a breathtaking backdrop of the Denver city skyline atop Catbird’s rooftop, surrounded by their friends and family.

After the ceremony, the couple traded their loafers and heels for pairs of Nike Chunky Dunky’s – a colorful shoe made in collaboration with Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and a nod to the groom’s love for sneakers. With plenty of dancing space and cozy corners to enjoy the city lights, the couple created a celebration for every guest to enjoy.

In true Denver fashion, Callie and Zach ended the night with a ride in a pedicab – this one decorated with strings of cans that rattled along behind them. 720.990.5555

A Blushing Bride

Michael Moore

“A Blushing Bride”

Preparation for your special day needs to be thought through to every little detail. As a makeup artist I am often shocked by how many people “budget” shop on the things you look at the most for years to come…your face.

For years, you’ll look at your photos and see the joy on your face but not so much the venue or flowers. Think about makeup earlier in the planning stages.

Doing your makeup by yourself? Great! Let me teach you how and what you’ll need to be perfect on the day and every day to follow.

First, start off with skin tone correct foundation as well as waterproof. My personal go to is the Era Spray Foundation. This way you make sure your makeup stays put all day long.

Eyes: Lay a base before any color. MAC Paint Pots give a base that makes it waterproof and gives a fresh-looking eye all day long. Follow the perfect shadows with the perfect waterproof liner. Revive Eye Liners will keep everything perfect during the most tearful of toasts.

Face: The blush should be subtle and not hard. Blended but not bold…Fresh as if you are truly the blushing beauty that you are. Make sure the color gives a fresh just exercised look: a brides’ favorite is a subtle color called “Nice Tan”. Fresh pink and freshly kissed on the cheeks.

Lips: long wear and kissable. My go to line of lip color for the special day is the MAC Love Me Liquid lip color in Laissez-Faire. Neutral, clean, and current…My brides just add a layer of gloss to give the lip a quick pick me up.

Key things to remember for making your day extra special. Try on spray tans well before the wedding to test out the correct color. Do the final spray 2-3 days before the wedding day. No serious work with facials within two weeks of the wedding, keep it simple with a hydrating facial the day before. One of my favorites is a Hydra Facial. Bright, fresh, and perfect for your special day.

Finally, clean foods for two weeks before the day, extra water, hydration IV and low carbs to prevent the bloat.

Overall, remember the two special people are the two getting married. Don’t stress. Just enjoy!

Congratulations! mooreforlife.com

GRAF VON FABER-CASTELL’S GUILLOCHE INDIA RED

Faber-Castell, one of the world’s largest and oldest manufacturers of pens, pencils, art and office supplies, was founded in 1761 and has a fascinating history.

The writing instruments in the Guilloche series are made to accompany us through everyday life in style and to help us rediscover the charm of our own handwriting.

The coloured Guilloche writing instruments made of precious resin are distinguished by a special process. Each one is engraved individually using a method otherwise reserved for jewellery or silver accessories. The barrel is then repeatedly lacquered and polished by hand. The result is a unique and most interesting surface texture: no two writing implements are identical: each is an individual example of the craftsman’s art.

Moore For Life

Michael Moore has worked in the cosmetics industry since 1988 with brand leaders such as Bobbi Brown Essentials, Chanel, and Estée Lauder. In New York City, he was often seen backstage during fashion week, supporting major designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Bob Mackie, and Vera Wang. Michael’s client list included Oscar winners, First Ladies of the United States, and royalty.

Eventually, the quality of the Colorado lifestyle—the healthy, natural atmosphere that inspires his technique— drew him out west, where he opened Moore For Life in Denver’s own center of chic, Cherry Creek North. mooreforlife.com
