WEEKLY NEWSLETTER Unveiling the Secrets to Building a Thriving Company March 11, 2024 www.thatsgreatnews.com

VISIONARY CORNER

KC Chiefs

Like the 120 million others who tuned in to watch the Super Bowl last month, I too was thrilled to witness the Kansas City Chiefs emerge victorious With three wins in the last four years, they're solidifying their status as a dynasty Our ongoing partnership with McClatchy Publishing, the owners of the Kansas City Star, has been a fruitful revenue-sharing arrangement They receive 25-30% of all sales we generate from KC Star products.

Launching and selling these products on our new TGN ETSY Store was equally exciting. Given the high viewership of this year ' s Super Bowl and the "Swift effect," one would anticipate a significant spike in sales. However, that wasn't the case. We managed to sell just over $30,000 worth of plaques and posters this year, compared to $55,000 last year. In contrast, when the University of Georgia won their back-toback National Championships recently, we saw sales soar to 40 times that amount.

Unfortunately, our ETSY store didn't perform well either, generating less than $1,000 in sales. It's clear we need to regroup, analyze what our competitors are offering and how they're marketing their products, and strategize for the next sports championship.

JOURNEY

We believe that every employee’s journey is unique and filled with lessons that can inspire us all. Today, we’re excited to share the story of three of our colleagues. Their journey, like many of ours, is a testament to perseverance, growth, and the power of a supportive work environment. From their first day to their current role, their story is a reflection of our company’s values and culture. Join us as we delve into this remarkable journey that is sure to motivate and inspire you.”

JOURNEY

I started working at That’s Great News in September 2021. The owner of a horse farm I volunteer at noticed a position at this company and informed me about it. I was actively enrolled in classes to become a Librarian Assistant, which I graduated from in May of 2023!

I am currently the Librarian for the company. I manage the library which involves sorting the publications. Filing all print subscriptions. Purging publications based on a schedule. On occasion I also help Elliott and Daniella research newspapers and business journals. On occasion, I have also assisted with other tasks on an as needed basis for other employees in the company.

Some fun things about me...

I sometimes chronicle the wildest events in co-op games I play with my brother and his friends; Sea of Thieves has the most moments. I have a tendency to pick the hardest difficulties for myself in general such as: learning to whistle the wrong way but getting good at it where I used to freak people out with bird whistles

I also play the harp!

CELEBRATING

SUCCESS:

THE PATH OF TWO REPS

In sales, being good at your job often means being able to adapt to new situations and learn from both the past and present. A couple of standout sales reps have shown that success comes from being open to change and always looking for ways to improve

MichelleFerguson has been selling for more than twenty-five years. In the early days, she would hand flip through large amounts of newspapers and magazines to find leads, and then make cold calls. There was not a proof image to be seen prior to closing the sale. Over time, she's learned to mix her old-school methods with new ways of reaching out to customers, making her very successful Her ability to blend the best of both worlds has helped her stand out in her field and be an example for others.

CarmenGomez also stands out, but for a different reason. Carmen used to sell things the traditional way as well. Working leads in the system and making calls was the way she learned how to succeed. When the world started buying more online, Carmen saw it as an opportunity to grow, and not something to be afraid of. By learning new skills and adapting to the technological ways of doing her job, Carmen has managed to stay ahead of the curve and keep making sales She is also an outstanding team player!

They are both great at selling because they really understand what they're selling and can explain it simply to customers This deep knowledge and ability to communicate clearly have made Michelle and Carmen top performers in their field
