Counselor In Training (CIT) is a work-oriented, leadership program which gives teens an opportunity to assist College For Kids instructors during the CFK summer camp. CITs must be available to attend mandatory training from Noon - 3 p.m. on June 7. CITs receive leadership training and earn school service hours. Eligibility requirements: Potential CITs will be between the ages of 15-18 and/or rising

College for Kids is held at Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus. The CFK office is located in Building A, Room 28 during camp and is open only during the CFK program: July 8 through July 26. Prior to

Meals

SF will be in session during CFK and all CFK students are required to follow the rules expected of SF students. You will participate in class, act in a disciplined manner and follow faculty instructions. A contract of understanding will be signed by the student and parent/guardian. One infraction will generate a warning. At the second infraction, the child will be expelled from the CFK program without a refund.

Babysitting Survival - CFK0094 Create your babysitting survival kit with games, and an emergency action plan. With all of these tools, you’ll become the best babysitter on the block!

Brain Busters - CFK0176 Experience math logic puzzles, mazes, word puzzles, hidden pictures, riddles and more, with a series of games that plays tricks on your mind but trains your mind to think in different ways.

Broadway Bootcamp - CFK0287 Learn the basics of Broadway theater in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Learn how to be a superstar in this Broadway bootcamp!

Fun with Physics - CFK0434 Students will take part in hands on physics activities to help them understand how we utilize these properties.

Sketch Artist - CFK0120 Become confident in using graphite pencil, charcoal and colored pencil while expanding your understanding of drawing techniques.

Zoo Life - CFK0238 Join us for some wild adventures to learn about a variety of animals, along with trips to the SF Zoo. Investigate where they live, what they eat, and what we can do to protect them.

Zoo-ology - CFK0373 Explore the vastness of the animal kingdom with this exciting class that merges biology and zoology, with the hands-on, interactive animal adventures courtesy of the SF Zoo.

Scholarships and Tuition Assistance Available

Santa Fe College’s College for Kids (CFK) has been awarded funding by Children’s Trust of Alachua County (CTAC) and will be able to offer a limited number of scholarships for our summer programs. The CTAC, a special district created by Alachua County voters in 2018, funds and supports a coordinated system of community services that allows all youth and their families to thrive. Student Handbook, Orientation, T-shirts

• Students will receive their student handbook and forms via email in mid-June. It is highly encouraged to complete/submit all student forms electronically prior to camp starting. Email all complete paperwork and/ or correspondence to Rosalind.roberts@sfcollege.edu.

• Orientation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Lyceum Concert Hall, Bldg E.

• Two T-shirts will be given to each student and must be worn every day for safety and identification purposes. T-shirts may be picked up the 1st day of your child’s camp. Additional T-shirts are available for $10 each.

• Parents will drop off and pick up their child in the classroom.
