IthasbeenanhonortorepresenttheMichigan Quarter Horse Association (MQHA) this past year as the 2022 Queen. I am a sophomore at Michigan State University, working to earn my bachelor's degree in Animal Science/PreVeterinary Medicine through the Lyman Briggs College.IamalsoamemberoftheMSUHonors College.AtMichiganState,Iaminvolvedinthe Pre-Veterinary Medical Association as Historian, Tower Guard, the MSU Stock Seat Equestrian Team, and the Animal Science UndergraduateResearchStudentAssociation.

Growing up as a young girl in the Michigan Quarter Horse Association, the role of MQHA QueenwasoneIdreamedofachieving.Ilooked uptothequeensIinteractedwithandhopedto one day be a similar role model for younger MQHAexhibitors.The Michigan Quarter Horse Associationhasbeenamajorpartofmylifefor thepastdecadeandthroughmyinvolvementin various MQHA activities, I have developed manyvaluablelifeskillssuchassportsmanship, determination,andleadership.Theassociation has also helped me meet many friends that I hopetohaveforalifetime.Thispastyear,IenjoyedmyrolesattheMQHAshows.Theseincludedpresenting awardsduringtheleadlineclasses,helpingorganizetheMQHAPrincessContestattheHarborClassic,and presentingawardsattheMQHAFuturity.

InOctober,IparticipatedintheAll-AmericanQuarterHorseCongressQueenContest.Ienjoyedeveryminuteof thecontestandwasblessedtobearoundsuchanamazinggroupofyoungwomen.TheQueen'sContestisan th experienceunlikeanyother,andIamthankfulforthefriendshipsImade.Iwasproudtofinish6 placeoverallin thecompetition.CongratulationstoKylieGoodforbeingnamedthe2022CongressQueen.Kyliewasahuge helptomeinpreparationforthecontestandissodeservingofthisrole.Ilookforwardtowatchingherthisyear Thank you to the QueenTeam, Elaine Wells, Jaymie Drury, Jessica Elsass, and Brittany Hostetler, for all the worktheydidtoorganizethecontestthisyear IwouldalsoliketosaythankyoutoOQHAandallthesponsorsof thecontestforallthesupporttheygivethecontestants.

My horse, Tie Breaker Magic and I had a great year riding. We reached a big achievement of 5000 hours with theAQHAand earned a beautiful buckle in May We also rode for the MQHAand logged 600 hours for that program. We ride in every season and not much stopsusfromhittingthetrail.ThankyoufortheMQHA HorsebackRidingProgram.
