MQHA CONVENTION 2022 Dear MQHA Family, I want to welcome all of you to the 2022 Michigan Quarter Horse Association Convention. It’s so great to be able to have everyone together again for one of our favorite annual events! A special thanks goes to the MQHA Convention committee for making this event possible. While the past 21 months have brought many unique challenges – namely those brought by the COVID-19 pandemic – they have also reminded me time and time again why we all refer to this group as a family. From having to deal with moving or canceling events, to adapting to the ever-changing protocols brought on by the pandemic, to supporting those who have lost loved ones, seeing the way that our members continue to rally around one another has made me proud to be your president. I want to thank each member of the 2021 MQHA Board of Directors. You have gone above and beyond this year with all the extra requirements that have been placed on you. It’s been an honor to be your president, and it’s been a joy to work with you. As I turn the reins over to Barb Foster for 2022, I’m confident that it will be a seamless transition and things will run as smoothly as ever. I want to thank Kris Woroniecki and Heather Bielecki for doing the work in the office and doing all the things behind the scenes that the majority of people don’t see. So many of our events that we all enjoy wouldn’t be possible without all that you do, and I want you to know that your work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Finally, I want to personally congratulate all our award winners. I know how hard you have all worked for these awards, and a celebration of your accomplishments has been well-earned. A Note from 2021 MQ Youth President, Rylee Harding What a year it has been for MQHYA! This Association is always looking for ways to improve as a whole and keep striving for greatness. The American Quarter Horse Youth Association gave us a great theme to look up to throughout the year; “Make Your Mark”, and our youth did just that. This talented group of young individuals had phenomenal accomplishments at both the Youth World and All American Quarter Horse Congress. In the National Youth Activity Team Tournament, our Michigan Snaffle Bit Association team placed 4th overall while the Michigan Quarter Horse Youth team, not far behind, came in 5th! Not only did our youth excel in the show ring, we recognized many Academic Achievement recipients at our Harbor Classic show for their great work in the classroom as well. Juggling academics and maintaining the responsibilities within The Michigan Quarter Horse Youth Association is quite a challenge, but our members did it with ease. Additionally, many fun-filled activities were held throughout the year such as our Dog Races, Bouncy Horse Race, and other fundraising events such as raffles and a 50/50 drawing. These were available for all exhibitors to participate in and showcased how much Michigan Quarter Horse loves to make our horse shows exciting and allow every exhibitor to be involved. This association takes pride in providing a fun environment with endless opportunities that the youth are eager to be involved in! We want to make our mark every year!

Pay for all MQHA Approved Shows for the season and save! $1,850* fee includes one stall, AQHA/MQHA entries and MQHA office fees for all the MQHA owned shows listed below. • MQHA Easter EggStravaganza, April 13-17, 6 Judges! • MQHA Summer Series, May 25-30, 5 Judges! • MQHYA Spartan Spectacular, June 29-July 1, 4 Judges! • MQHA Harbor Classic, July 3-9, 6 Judges! • MQHA Great Lakes Classic, September 15-18, 6 Judges! • MQHA Harvest Classic, November 4-6, 4 Judges! *PPHS fee does not cover AQHA drug/processing charges ($8 per judge), NSBA class fees, shavings, camping or any other items not listed above. The $1850 payment is due, paid in full, by the first show attended, unless other arrangements are made. The amount can be paid by check or credit card. MQHA does accept Amex, Visa, MasterCard and Discover with a 3.5% processing fee ($64.75).
