COAT is the honest and emotional story of Junior, born in Nigeria he leaves at the age of 9 and heads to London leaving behind a life that he loved and was settled in. Yomi Sode’s sell-out show tackles immigration, identity and displacement. COAT is a humorous and moving response to the mistakes made by elders that leave the next generation uncertain of what is expected of them. This show contains some strong language, themes and sexual references.

Wed 1 & Thurs 2 May, 7.30pm The Mess Deck, The Historic Dockyard Chatham, ME4 4TY A love story, and a love letter to Chatham. A brand new play about identity, place and belonging, inspired by stories from the Kent community.

One town, one couple, forty years.

Price: £8.50 each Concessions (60+, Historic Dockyard Chatham staff and annual pass holders): £7 each

Bob and Rose meet as excited teenagers in the 70s. From their first date, it’s clear that this is the start of something special. But unknown to them, the course of their relationship is intrinsically tied to the fortunes of the Chatham Dockyard, and when it’s suddenly closed their lives are irrevocably changed.

Blink. Blink again. What do you see? Day by day your world is filling up with colour, little one. Reds and blues, yellows and greens. Twinkling lights that glisten and gleam. Kaleidoscope is a brand new piece of theatre for babies aged 6 - 18 months inspired by research into how a baby's sense of sight develops and how they instinctively begin to categorise colour.

It turns out they didn’t die in a tragic misunderstanding, they grew up and lived happily ever after. Well they lived at least. Age: 16+ Price: £7.50 each Students: £5.50 Groups (10+): £5 each

With Lost Dog’s blend of dance, theatre and comedy this duet, directed by Olivier Award nominated Ben Duke, takes on our cultural obsession with youth and our inevitable issues with longevity. This show contains some strong language and adult themes.

Now Is The Time To Say Nothing

Sat 4 May - 10.30am, 12noon, 2.30pm, 4.30pm, 7pm, 8.30pm Glassbox Theatre, Mid Kent College, Medway Campus, Gillingham, ME7 1FN Now Is The Time To Say Nothing is an interactive sound and video installation exploring the role of screens in observing global conflicts. The show is a provocation against armchair passivity.

Age: 12+ Price: £7.50 each Groups (10+): £5 each

Using stunning video and immersive sound, it follows the real story of Syrian artist Reem Karssli as she captures her daily experience of the Syrian conflict on camera and what emerges when she is contacted by a group of teenagers from the UK who want to see beyond the footage they’ve watched on their TVs. This show contains depictions of war.

The Ugly Duckling

Feeling different, teased by his friends and not accepted by his family, the Ugly Duckling is sad and lonely. Through a series of adventures he soon learns who he really is and his family realises it doesn’t matter what you look like but how good your heart is. With crystal-clear story telling, larger than life characters and gorgeous costumes, The Ugly Duckling tackles themes of social acceptance and liking yourself in a child-friendly, charming manner. Take part in a photo opportunity with dancers after the show.
