Welcome to Continuing Education! Breaking the Ice Since 1970 How often have we huddled up and debated the existence of the “Seattle Freeze?” Are locals really that chilly to new arrivals in the community? Do we give them the cold shoulder? Perhaps you have brushed up against it yourself though you consider yourself a longtime resident. There’s a surefire way to ward off that chill: register for a Continuing Education class this winter and discover ways to create, discuss, explore or exercise in the company of like-minded people. Warm up to new ideas with Continuing Education.

The subject was perfectly presented with great in-class examples and explanations. Our assignments were inspiring and practical, using principles learned in class . – Theresa S. on Color Interactions: Theory and Practice with Peg McNair

Join us for Winter Quarter, that traditionally dark and spooky time, when we examine the beast within (and without) through the filter of Schlock! Our first offering is an oddball, obscure British version of Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart, (1960) produced concurrently to Roger Corman’s better-directed version. This mind bending rarity brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “crazy talk.” Next up, Peter Cushing, Calvin Lockhart and Anton Diffring star in The Beast Must Die (1974) a Swinging London take on the classic Agatha Christie tale, Ten Little Indians…with a werewolf. We follow that with The Severed Arm (1973), starring my favorite Beach Party movie star, Deborah Walley, in a fast-paced exploitation film about some folks who get very hungry while trapped in a mine. Then we jump back to 1972 for Christopher Lee’s rarely seen performance as Dr. Jekyll (and Mr. Hyde) in I, Monster. We close out with Kingdom of the Spiders (1977), starring one of the most celebrated campy actors in film and television history, William Shatner, along with Woody Strode (Spartacus) and Tiffany Bolling. 7096 1/26/2017 - 2/23/2017 7:00 - 9:00PM 5 ses Th Hopkins On Campus: LB Bldg Room 1131 $79
