ABOUT US Island Cruising NZ was formed in 1985 and Down Under Rally was formed in 2014. Both companies have a long history of helping sailors prepare for and undertake a long coastal or offshore voyage. In 2023 Island Cruising purchased Down Under Rally and we now seamlessly cover the entire South West Pacific. We provide yacht cruising rallies around New Zealand, Australia and the islands of the South Pacific. These rallies are designed to allow sailors to cruise the islands aboard their own boats, or assist as crew on someone else's boat. Prior to departure, we provide assistance with preparing
their
vessels
to
go
offshore.
Our
members are actively purchasing products and services
to
get
their
boats,
their
crew
and
themselves ready for the voyage ahead. We then actively encourage International cruisers to join us to sail back to New Zealand and Australia at the end of the season. We partner with reputable marine businesses to help you promote their products and services to our

EXPOSURE RALLY PARTICIPANTS In 2023 we had 93 boats register on our Pacific Rally, and 35 boats on our South Island Rally. There were 74 boats on the Down Under Rally. These are made up of a combination of New Zealand, Australian and International vessels. We expect to have over 180 vessels joining us in 2024
MEMBERSHIP We have over 1600 members based in Australia, New Zealand along with the International cruisers who join our Sail South or Go West Rallies. They recieve a weekly email newsletter, access to our exclusive partner discounts, invitations to special events, and access to all our online training content & other resources. These members are all likely to undertake a long coastal or offshore passage at some stage in the near future.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS The Islands of the South Pacific are spectacularly beautiful but fragile, and visiting sailors play a vital role in preserving the natural beauty of the islands and reinforcing the long history of mutual respect between the islanders and world cruisers. We encourage our members to protect and preserve the ocean, islands and culture of the South Pacific. We’ve been recognised for demonstrating excellence in the cruising community. Recent accolades come from: The Ocean Cruising Club Award for advocating for cruisers stuck during COVID Yachting New Zealand Excellence Award for Cruising 2023 Lux Life Nautical Tourism Awards - Best Yacht Rally 2023 We love to do good things for the communities we visit.
