A Learning Vacation for Children Session I: July 10-21 Session II: July 31-August 11
Kids On Campus is a two-week program held on the Harford Community College campus. Classes focus on art, academics, and athletics for students who are entering grades 1-3. Each session meets Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with drop-off and pick-up in Edgewood Hall. Lunch and most supplies are included.
Follow these easy steps to register: 1. Fill out the HCC Kids Registration Form. Complete the registration form, which may be used for multiple sessions. Out-of-County residents pay an additional surcharge of $20. Out-of-State residents pay an additional surcharge of $35.
2. Complete the Course Selection Form. You must choose classes for both Monday/Wednesday/Friday (M/W/F) (see pages 14 and 15) and
Tuesday/Thursday (T/Th) (see pages 15 and 16). Don’t forget to write the student’s name and the session attending at the top of each page, where indicated.

Flight Camp Up, up, and away! Explore the fundamentals of flight with kites, planes, and waterpowered rockets. Build scale models of the Wright Brothers' planes, using a little bit of math and some fun, kid-friendly materials. To alleviate the construction stress, students will also build and fly assorted types of kites and paper planes with daily, friendly competition. Discovering College A Learning Vacation for Children Session I: July 10-21 Session II: July 31-August 11
Discovering College is a two-week program held on the Harford Community College campus. Classes focus on art, academics, and athletics for students who are entering grades 4-6. Each session meets Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with drop-off and pick-up in Edgewood Hall. Lunch and most supplies are included.
Follow these easy steps to register: 1. Fill out the HCC Kids Registration Form. Complete the registration form, which may be used for multiple sessions. Out-of-County residents pay an additional surcharge of $20. Out-of-State residents pay an additional surcharge of $35.

Harford Imagination Theatre Do you have a passion for the theatre, working with a group, and having fun? Harford Imagination Theatre gives students the opportunity to expand their creative talents while gaining a greater understanding and love for the performing arts. Instruction will cover how to audition, voice coaching, dance and body movement, acting and projection, costuming and make-up, and improvisation, as well as the technical aspects of set construction, lighting, props, and special effects. SPORTS Golf Camp for Boys and Girls This camp is designed for kids, ages 8-14, with little or no previous golf experience. This week-long instructional clinic at Ruggles Golf Course helps participants develop the basics of the golf swing and introduces them to the rules, etiquette, and history of the game. This is the ultimate camp for the sports enthusiast. Every minute is filled with sportsrelated activities in our recently renovated Susquehanna Center as well as our own turf field. All Sports campers will participate in swimming, handball, basketball, dodge ball, capture the flag, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, kickball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, wiffle ball, and more. Explore the world of visual arts in this fun one-week session. Campers will use a variety of media to cultivate their artistic talents with age-appropriate activities. We will end the week with an art show for students to display original art work for family and friends!

This one-week jazz camp is under the direction of the amazing Mr. Benny Russell, one of Harford Community College’s prestigious music faculty. Students should be prepared to work as an ensemble and to sharpen their improvisational skills. The instruments that are involved are the saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, drums, and vocals. All students are required to have their own instruments as well as The Real Book in the appropriate keys. Use this checklist to make sure you have everything you need to complete your registration. _____ Select camps by using grade levels. _____ Health Forms and Permission Forms - CampDoc is our online medical form database. Please look for an email from them. Be aware that it may go to your spam or junkmail folder. Firefox or Chrome browsers are required. Returning campers only need to update information if anything has changed since last summer. CampDoc MUST be completed in order for your registration for camp to be considered accepted or your camper will not be allowed to attend camp. _____ Register for camps four different ways:

_____ What to Expect After Registration: Campers will receive a welcome email two weeks prior to the camp start. Again, your camper may not start the camp if he or she does not have a medical form on file with CampDoc. Campers who are required to have permission slips (ie. Adventure Week) will receive the documents by regular mail. _____ What is provided for the Campers: Food is included in full-day camps in the College’s cafeteria. Please make sure you indicate on the medical forms if there are any food allergies or special dietary needs so that the camp and cafeteria can coordinate. For those who are participating in Adventure Week or Diverse Explorers, please make sure you do not bring anything with nuts, to include peanut butter sandwiches.

Information You Need To Know! PLEASE READ General information about camps: 443-412-2376, Option 1 Despite our best efforts, occasionally an error may occur in a course description, tuition, fee or other entry in the camp booklet. In the event of a printing error, the College reserves the right to apply the correct information.
Course Cancellation Policy The College reserves the right to cancel any camp/class when there is insufficient enrollment. If we must cancel a camp/class, you will be notified by email, telephone, or at the first camp/class meeting.
Late Pick-Up Policy for Camp and Extended Day Programs Students will be dismissed from their last classroom at 4 p.m. Please pick up your child from his/her last classroom promptly, as a fee of $20 will be assessed for up to 15 minutes beyond the ending time of the program. An additional $20 will be charged for every 15 minutes thereafter. The fees should be paid directly to the counselor at the time of pick-up.
Holidays: July 4 There will be no camps on Monday, July 3rd or Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. NOTE: The number of sessions for each camp/class varies due to the location and holidays. See individual camp/course listings for exact number of sessions and holidays.
Services for Individuals With Disabilities Individuals with disabilities who request academic accommodations for continuing education courses must register with Disability Support Services and must provide a copy of current documentation of the disability. A minimum of two weeks’ notice may be needed to provide some accommodations. Appointments can be made and questions answered by calling Disability Support Services at 443-412-2402.
Visitors Policy All persons attending camps/classes must be officially registered for those camps/classes. Any visitors (including children) other than those with bona fide academic, educational, and/or approved business with the College, are not to be in offices, labs, classroom, break rooms, work area, or hallways. Children (ages 12 and under) not enrolled in a camp/ class are not to be left unattended at any time, under any circumstances.
Students who are registered for Wind Down (after care) will be dismissed from Edgewood Hall. Wind Down ends at 5:30 p.m. and campers must be picked up promptly, as a fee of $20 will be assessed for up to 15 minutes beyond the ending time of the program. After that, an additional $20 will be charged for every 15 minutes thereafter. The fees should be paid directly to a camp counselor at the time of pick-up.
By enrolling in Harford Community College, campers accept and agree to abide by the policies and regulations of HCC, including those in the Student Code of Conduct, the Drug and Alcohol Policy, and the Computer Use Policy. Students must understand that violation of these regulations would subject them to the penalties and sanctions continued in these policies, which are available in the Office of Student Activities. Refunds and Withdrawals
Code of Conduct
If the College cancels camp/class, 100% of the tuition and fee will be refunded by mail. Allow six weeks from the date of cancellation to receive the refund. To withdraw from a continuing education camp/class, call or stop by the Continuing Education and Training Office in Edgewood Hall to complete a withdrawal form. The withdrawal will become effective the day you contact the office. Book returns must be accompanied by a copy of the withdrawal form. If you withdraw before the first camp day/class meeting, the College will refund 100% of the tuition and fee. If you with withdraw before the second camp day/class meeting, the College will refund 50% of the tuition but no fee. There will be no refunds after the second camp day/ meeting and no official withdrawal is necessary.
HCC campers are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior throughout the session. Other College classes are meeting in the summer. Running is not allowed in the buildings, and voices should be kept at a low level in the hallways. Should a discipline problem occur, the following steps will take place: 1. The problem will be reported to the Summer Camp Coordinator. 2. The Coordinator will speak to the child and reinforce the appropriate behavior. 3. If the problem persists, the parent/guardian will be notified to pick up the child. 4. If the nature of the problem is serious or if the inappropriate behavior continues, the child may be dismissed from the program and no refund will be given.

Dress Code
• Unduly expose or reveal skin or undergarments, such as mesh tops, bare midriff tops, pants worn below the hips, short-shorts, miniskirts or bedtime attire.
Campers have the responsibility to choose their attire and to arrange their personal appearance in a manner that is safe, healthy, inoffensive, and not disruptive to the HCC Kids community. The dress code is intended to create a positive climate for fun, while also reducing the possibility of discipline problems.
• Contain language or symbols that offend or demean an identifiable person or group or otherwise infringe on the rights of others. • Contain profane, disrespectful or discourteous expression. • Endanger health or safety.
Campers’ style of dress or grooming must meet the reasonable requirements of a camp or activity. Accordingly, campers are prohibited from wearing clothing, jewelry, tattoos, bookbags or other articles of personal appearance that:
Dress Code Violations — When a camper’s attire or personal appearance violates this policy, the Camp Director or designee shall investigate and take corrective actions, including but not limited to the following:
• Depict profanity, obscenity, the use of weapons or violence.
• Requiring the student to remove or change the item;
• Promote the use of tobacco, drugs, alcohol or other illegal or harmful products.
• Taking reasonable steps to notify the camper’s parent/guardian of the violation.
• Contain sexually suggestive messages.
