INSIDE LOOK: (From top) I just bought P this coat and I can’t handle the cute. A behind the scenes peek at our shoot with Petunia Pickle Bottom founder DeNai Jones and her family! My Penelope Plum and I are spending a lot of time on the floor playing these days.

M I N I f a l l ‘17

It’s the most wonderful time of the year— OK, well at least it’s my favorite! There is nothing I love more than crisp, cool weather, crunchy leaves, and filling my house with cute little pumpkins! I’ll be honest with you, putting together this fall issue was a bit more challenging than in past years as I now have a wonderfully squirmy eight-month-old (#littlepenelopeplum) on my hands, but it’s definitely among the best we’ve ever done. I mean, can we talk about that cover? We’re thrilled to welcome mama Jessie James Decker to our fall issue and talk all things baby as she’s now expecting her third little Mini! The following pages are also home to some of the most beautiful spaces (wait until you see Juliet Angus’ uber chic domain!) and interviews with moms like Nina Freudenberger (author of the stunning Surf Shack book), DeNai Jones of Petunia Pickle Bottom, and Meg Shackleton of Margaret Elizabeth! Now enjoy the season before the holiday crazy sets in!

When it comes to starting baby on solids, you have two options— opt for the pre-packaged jars in the grocery store or make your own baby food. But what if you still want organic, fresh meals for your Mini, just without the hassle? Enter Yumi. This meal delivery service for the crawling crowd comes with everything you need to advance your Mini to the next culinary milestone, plus unlimited time with an online nutritionist, just in case. —helloyumi.com

duty as parents to offer the healthiest and most nutritious options, which means no preservatives or synthetic chemicals.

Start your baby on solids when you think they are ready. For some babes, that means starting a little before six months old. You know your babe better than anyone, so if you think they’re ready, don’t be afraid to try it out. Look out for signs of readiness, such as losing that tongue-thrust reflex when your little automatically pushes solids out of his mouth with his tongue.

MIX IT UP.

START WHEN YOU’RE READY.

Funny faces are normal! It can take a baby anywhere from 3 to 15 times of trying a food before they really grow accustomed to the flavor. In the meantime, prepare for some adorably confused faces, especially when introducing new foods. KEEP TRYING.

CLEAN UP.

Keep it fresh, organic and clean. It’s our

Incorporate a variety of flavors into your baby’s diet. The more flavors you introduce to your babe during the first 1,000 days, the more likely they will grow to appreciate a wide variety of flavors and be less picky eaters.

Eat with your babe. They are a lot more likely to chow down if they see you doing the same. It’s also an great bonding experience, and a way to encourage many years of eating at the same table.

MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO.

Babies are not supposed to consume salt or juice before age one. Read the back of labels and make sure you are providing a variety of ingredients, so that their calories are not just coming from fruit.

WATCH SALT AND SUGAR.

AMANDA O’CONNOR/ AMAX

We’re thrilled to have you on our fall cover! Let’s dive right into your life as a mom. What does your morning routine look like?

MINI |

Waking up, coffee, getting babies breakfast, and juice cups ready. Then waking up the babies and starting our day. They take awhile to wake up, so I put on cartoons and let them hang out on the sofa snuggled up with their blankies and sippy cups until they are ready to eat. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What were your first thoughts when you found out you were pregnant with baby number three?

MINI |

I was so excited and proud to share the news with Eric. I was also excited that Vivi’s answer to her prayers had came true. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

How do you think life will change going from two to three kids?

MINI |

I have heard one to two is the biggest hurdle. I’m not too worried about it. I’m excited for the infant stage again. This will be our last, so I want to enjoy it!

Have you always dreamed of having a big family?

MINI |

I always knew I was going to be a mommy and because I came from a family of three kids, I always assumed I would have three! JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

How do you think Vivianne and Eric will respond to the new baby?

MINI |

I think they will be amazing. Viv is already such a nurturing big sister. I’ve also seen Bubby with little babies and he gets very excited and I have to tell him to be gentle because he wants to hug them too much. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What do you think is the greatest challenge of motherhood?

MINI |

Finding time for yourself! I always feel guilty when I want to go get my nails done or hair done because it takes time away, but I know moms need that alone time too. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What are you most looking forward to with having another baby?

MINI |

The new baby smell and breastfeeding. I love nursing my babies. It’s such a special bond for me.

On the flip side, what is your favorite part?

MINI |

Having a family is just my fave altogether. I love having these babies that love you unconditionally. It’s amazing to always have such strong love. I feel so fulfilled. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What surprised you most about motherhood?

MINI |

How much you care less about the silly little things. Your tolerance gets very low. Your kids are all that matters. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

MINI |

you?

How has motherhood changed

Motherhood made me a better person. More selfless and more grateful for the little things. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What do you hope to instill into your kids?

MINI |

Manners, morals, confidence, and humility. JESSIE JAMES DECKER |

What is most important to you in raising your kids?

MINI |

Thank you for inviting us into your home! Tell us about the place!

MINI |

Our home is small. It was the perfect starter home and we are actually now looking to sell and move on. It feels like a loft space with high ceilings and lots of style. My decor is simple, chic furniture mixed with eclectic pillows, plants, wall coverings, blankets and art from all my travels.

JOEY WOLFFER |

Nell’s room is colorful mixed with soft elements and sheepskin. I also incorporated a lot of patterns in the space to make it feel sophisticated and fun loving. Her room has really come to reflect her strong personality. Every time we go away and come home, she gets so excited.

JOEY WOLFFER |

How did you design the nursery for the new baby?

MINI |

[It’s a] work in progress as we are moving, but as I did with Nell’s room, I started with a key element. I found an incredible (new) Morroccan rug with ivory background and bold colors as the starting point. I also have beautiful floral silk prints that I found in Bali and framed. It’s going to be a little more girly than Nell’s, but we shall see what the new little one’s personality is like and change it based on that.

JOEY WOLFFER |

Do you have a favorite room in your home?

MINI |

My new back patio area. We spend as much time as possible out there— from early spring to late fall, we love it. It’s just so tranquil and relaxing and our dogs have freedom to run around with us and Nell loves to be outside running right along with them. The space also doubles perfectly for an adult cocktail party without an overly stuffy feel which I strive to avoid at all times.

JOEY WOLFFER |

What are some of your favorite elements in your home?

MINI |

I have a cow head made 100% from turquoise that I found through a dealer I work with in Paris, that is a favorite. I also love my Jonas Wood print that I got through my art advisor friend Kelly Padden. [Other] favorite finds are the antique wall hangings that we got on a recent business trip to Argentina.

JOEY WOLFFER |

Talk to us about your daughter’s room. How did you create her space?

MINI |

On a career note, tell us how you decided to start your shop.

MINI |

I launched the Styleliner at the height of the recession, seeing an opportunity to bring fashion to the customer just as food trucks were bringing food. I had no intention at the time of opening a brick and mortar store. I was able to grow the truck business quickly with a lot of hard work (some tears), but when I became pregnant with Nell, I knew the nomad lifestyle would have to change. A few months before I gave birth, I found the perfect spot in Sag Harbor on Madison Street. It was an old artist’s studio and the layout was just perfect for what I was looking for. Since then, I have moved to a larger store front, just closed out my second summer shop in Nantucket, and a summer long pop up in LA.

JOEY WOLFFER |

have not heard of yet. After a few seasons, the designers I work with usually take off and become well known. I mix new and vintage and that is represented in my store. MINI |

What pieces will you wear most this fall?

Since I am pregnant, I am loving Citizens of Humanity maternity jeans, a very comfortable bootie and a fun shirt (really enjoying stripes this pregnancy) with a cool vest (sometimes embroidered, sometimes leather). I love to accessorize, so from earrings to a necklace, I always play it up! I also have quite a collection of oversized vintage dresses that I don during pregnancy! A favorite new one came from a trunk show we did with LA brand Just Say Native this past summer.

JOEY WOLFFER |

Where are your favorite places to shop? For yourself and your daughter.

How is your personal style reflected in the pieces you curate?

MINI |

My style is more simple clothing mixed with fantastic, hard to find accessories. I believe that is reflected in my buy. I am always trying to bring the customer the newest designer that they

JOEY WOLFFER |

bop— from my bed in Sag Harbor. Kids shopping is my favorite, especially as I can’t fit into anything right now. I buy a lot from local stores Ethel & Row and Stella & Ruby. Online, I shop at Maisonette.com and Smallable.com. My favorite place to shop for babies is in Paris. I always do a big buy at Monoprix (they have the best and cheapest collection) and Bonton. Now that you’re expecting baby number two, tell us how you feel! What do you anticipate the transition will be like going from one to two kids?

MINI |

Terrified. But as with the first, we will adjust. All these big changes take time, but I am really looking forward to growing my family. I am still unsure of how the transition will be! We have told Nell she is expecting a baby sister [and] she seems excited. It sort of goes like this, “Mama, baby, sister, food, share, Marshall (her favorite character from Paw Patrol).” So we will see, but I’m excited for her to have a playmate!

JOEY WOLFFER |

Tell us how you chose your daughter’s name. Are you having an easy or tough time choosing a name for the new baby?

MINI |

We loved the name Nell and met a lovely English girl at a wedding whose name was Nell so that sealed the deal. Her middle name, Christiana, is in honor of my Dad. The

JOEY WOLFFER |

irony is she was born with his sparkling blue eyes and naughty smile, so it’s perfect for her. The next baby’s name came about in the same way. Our family’s names are too German for us or too simple (on my English side), so we found a beautiful name that goes perfectly with Nell, but you’ll have to wait for that one! MINI |

How has motherhood changed you?

Interestingly enough, motherhood has made me more driven than ever before. I want to be the role model of a strong businesswoman who can do whatever she puts her mind to. So while

JOEY WOLFFER |

it’s so hard for me to leave her for work trips, I hope one day when she looks back, she will see it was to set an example for her. Also, I am more comfortable in my skin— knowing my body is so incredible and can go through so much is such an empowering thing!

JOEY WOLFFER |

MINI |

How do you balance motherhood with your busy career?

MINI |

People ask me that a lot, but I don’t do any of it on my own. I surround myself with amazing people whether at home or in my businesses. The summers are a little tougher because we are pulled in a lot of directions, but I think motherhood has really focused me. I no longer have the time to get distracted, I need to get it all done so I can be with my daughter. I love being a mom, but I also love working, both roles keep me ticking.

JOEY WOLFFER |

JOEY WOLFFER |

What is your greatest joy of motherhood?

MINI |

Watching this little person experience things for the first time. Her excitement and pure joy make all the hard times worth it. I am loving toddlerhood as well because every day is different! She is learning new words and sayings— she is hilarious!

How about your greatest parenting fear or worry? The future of our world, both for security reasons and for our planet. Our children’s future is very uncertain. I fight with myself every day to live in the moment and do my part in working towards a better world.

What do you think is the one aspect of motherhood no one really warns you about?

MINI |

I never knew I could love anything as much as I love Nell and with that comes a lot of emotion which I was not totally prepared for. I am responsible for

nanny who arrives and I usually go exercise— pilates and AKT in Motion are my routine at the moment. Then I’m in the office at the winery or in the store. I am in the store a lot in the summer, but once fall hits, I spend more time in the office. I am in the city once a week for meetings as well. Most evenings, we go for a family walk with our dogs followed by Nell’s 7:30 bedtime. In the summer, we are out a lot of evening, but this time of year is a lot quieter! We’ve done some serious Netflix binging recently with Narcos, Ozark and Gypsy! What do you love about raising your kids in the Hamptons?

MINI |

Honestly, we live in such a crazy world right now. I am comforted living in such a safe place where I feel Nell can be anywhere and I don’t have to worry. We are also out in nature at all times and that is something I really value raising children. Nell’s school is a working farm and she loves it. They go out and feed the animals every day regardless of the weather. Nell and I share a love for horses and riding so being able to do that all week is so special. We are so lucky that living out here is an option for us. If we didn’t have our businesses, we wouldn’t have the opportunity.

the safety and future of this little person and I didn’t realize how much that would affect my everyday. I am now two years in and it’s become much more normal, but that was a huge shock when she was born. We know schedules can be hectic— so tell us about yours! What does a typical day look like right now?

MINI |

Most mornings, we are up at 7 when Nell makes herself known to the world through the monitor! Our morning routines start with some playtime in the crib, negotiating outfits, milk, and then breakfast. Some mornings, we will pop in to town to have an Acai bowl (her favorite). I have a lovely

Most items in our home have a story, a memory from travels, a special piece of art, or an heirloom piece.

DENAI JONES |

Thank you for inviting us into your home— Tell us about the place!

MINI |

The honor is all ours! To me, our home is like a sunny breeze, welcoming all who come in our door. The first time I saw this house, I immediately fell in love with the natural light that floods every room. It was built in 1926, and is full of thoughtful design details, lots of windows, and oriented perfectly for an ample amount of sunshine.

DENAI JONES |

MINI |

Do you have a favorite room?

My favorite room is our living room. It is the heart for our family time, intentionally sans TV, so we can enjoy good conversation, board games, book reading, and in the winter— lots of time by the fire place.

DENAI JONES |

What are some of your favorite elements in your home?

MINI |

Where do you spend the most time in your home?

MINI |

We spend most of our time outdoors, in the yard. Our yard is an expansion of our indoor space, and living in California we have the luxury of spending most of the year with doors wide open. I love that our house has a feeling of the indoors and outdoors becoming one.

DENAI JONES |

Talk to us about your sons’ rooms. What inspired you in creating their spaces?

MINI |

My oldest son’s room was inspired by our family’s affinity for adventure. He loves travel and all things international. I wanted to create a space that gave a sense of wanderlust, displaying his collected treasures, and conveying a feeling of, “where can we go next?”

DENAI JONES |

What are your favorite elements in their rooms?

MINI |

When our oldest son was young, his flying ship. A ghost ship of travels to far off lands. I love the Lost Boys story in Peter Pan, I think it gives that feeling in his room. In our youngest son’s room, his teepee. He loves to hide out and play with his stuffed animals, even at age 9.

DENAI JONES |

How did you decide on your sons’ names?

ings and product development sessions, while others are filled with textile designing and creating visuals. I love that I am challenged creatively every day and have a great team to work with at Petunia Pickle Bottom. What has been your proudest career moment to date?

MINI |

MINI |

Both my husband and I wanted to pass along some heritage in their names. Both Sutton and Miller are maiden names of our grandmothers, and their middle names are from loved ones past.

DENAI JONES |

I’m not sure it was a particular moment, but more the fact that I have been able to be a present mother to our boys, execute my passion in business, and fulfill my creativity. Our boys see me work hard, play hard, and still make time to be creative, both personally and professionally.

DENAI JONES |

MINI |

As the founder of PPB, can you give us an idea of what a typical work day looks like?

DENAI JONES |

DENAI JONES |

What would you say is the greatest challenge of being a working mom?

Balance. My parents have been great role models and always put family first.

I had a lot of passions pre-children, like horseback riding, Pilates, art, and pottery. It was important to give some of those up for a chapter, to focus on our boys and be a present parent. I am slowly carving out time to start pursuing these again, and now they are even more pleasurable. It is still honestly hard to take time away for myself, as I find that I always want to be with my family!

DENAI JONES |

Their example has helped me to put family, business, and personal passions in perspective. I don’t always get it right but I feel like I do a fair job at trying to keep my priorities straight. How do you manage to keep all of the plates spinning?

MINI |

We all know that spinning plates is difficult, and I drop quite a few. I am able to juggle these demanding roles because I have an amazing support system. I wouldn’t be successful without my supportive husband. We have a clear division of roles in our home and Petunia Pickle Bottom, and he and I are good at keeping clear communication of our family schedule, which helps tremendously. I also couldn’t live without support from both sets of grandparents.

DENAI JONES |

Where have you seen the biggest changes in your life since becoming a mom?

MINI |

What do you think is the one thing no one really warns you about?

MINI |

I think it would have been helpful to hear that everything is a chapter. As new parents, all things are overwhelming. Once you get one stage figured out, it changes, and then you’re onto the next challenge. My mom always said, “the days are long, but the years are short.” It is so very true, but I think as new parents we assume that a particular stage will last forever, and we don’t know that change is just around the corner.

DENAI JONES |

MINI |

What is your greatest joy of motherhood?

Watching our boys love one another deeply, have empathy, and adventurous

I don’t believe I have a particular style— my best description would be eclectic. I love vintage, minimalism, bohemian, and exotic influences.

You’re always exploring and heading out on fun trips with your family! What have been your most memorable trips?

MINI |

We love to travel! Both my husband and I have always had an affinity for travel, and when we started a family, we wanted that to be a big part of our lives. Travel is never easy with kids, but it is always worth it. The more you go, the easier it gets, and the earlier you start traveling with children, the better. Our favorite way to escape is in our VW camper van. We love that we can take off for a week, not have an itinerary, and just let the road lead us. Some of our

If you could give your sons one piece of advice, what would it be?

Thank you for inviting us into your home! Tell us about the place! MINI |

We are actually transitioning from a house that we sold in Mar Vista and moving into a new home in Hancock Park, but I have to say we love this space. We are only here for a year, but a lot of quirks about the house have really grown on me. I love that it has an open feel and Wolf can really run the full length of the space. The high ceilings in the main room also make it feel spacious even though the [footprint] of the entire house is only around 2000 square feet. NINA FREUDENBERGER |

Most likely the living room. In the evening, my husband always ends up in the leather chairs by the window to debrief on our days. The windows are original to the home and we can see all the way downtown. NINA FREUDENBERGER |

I spend the most time in my office. I work from home so this space is so critical to me. I think sometimes people think because I work from home I have flexible hours, but I’m actually really strict and truly work from 9-6, there is no other way I would get everything done! NINA FREUDENBERGER |

I’m dropping plates all the time. It is a balancing act and truly remarkable what women do every single day. I think what helps me the most is to allow the equation to change. Some days I see Wolf needs me more and other days he is so busy with activities that I can spend the time focusing on my work. I try to be observant and let the days somewhat unfold around me rather then feel guilty about not getting to one particular task. Family first, no matter what.

NINA FREUDENBERGER |

dry my hair and really indulge in my morning process. Then it’s right to the computer to start answering the 200 emails I get a day! I have to switch gears a lot, from the candle business, to working on my second book, to catering to my design clients. I have at least one or two client site visits a day and usually throw in a stop at a showroom to see new things. I either grab lunch on the road or if I am at home, try to make myself something healthy. Dinners are usually a little more indulgent (maybe because my decision-making process happens when I’m feeling exhausted) so that’s my time to be thoughtful about what I eat. I work until 6 and then take over for the bedtime routine. I try to get in bed by 10. I am a firm believer in the importance of sleep! I am less anxious, more patient, feel better and (in my mind) look better when I get a full eight hours of sleep.

I wanted Kal’s nursery to feel light, bright, and clean. I like the neutral palette in there and love that it always feels really peaceful. There was a time in life that I said I needed at least eight to nine hours of sleep to be at my best— that concept is a distant memory. What would you say is the greatest challenge of being a working mom?

MINI |

The hardest thing for me as a working mom is feeling like I’m constantly letting someone down. When I’m at the office, I miss my babies and when I’m home, I feel like I’m letting down my team at work. In total transparency, I’ve had to adjust some of the goals I had for my brand, because in this season of life, I’m trying to prioritize time with my children. That was a tough concept for me to confront, because for such a long time Margaret Elizabeth was my baby! I was driving myself crazy trying to be 100% on both sides and it was exhausting. Once I was honest with myself that something had to give, I think I became better at being a mom and a business MEG SHACKLETON |

owner simultaneously. What helps you to juggle motherhood and career?

MINI |

I’m so lucky to have a husband that is a total partner and a nanny who keeps things moving when we aren’t home. I told myself when my oldest son, Tate, was born that I wanted to continue working hard on my brand, but that I also wanted to be with my kids as much as I could be. For me, this has meant committing to three days in the office with my team and two days at home with my boys. I still work on my days at home, but I try to be really regimented with my time and schedule calls or catch up on work during naps or at night after the boys go to bed. I think I’m more efficient with my time now that I’m a mom, but the struggle to get it all done is so very real. In all honesty, I’m tired a lot! But I love my slightly complicated hybrid work/ home schedule and I’m committed to trying to make the juggling act work! MEG SHACKLETON |

What do you think is one aspect of motherhood no one really warns you about?

MINI |

MEG SHACKLETON |

You’ll never be “off.” I think

My day always begins on Kal’s time! No alarm clock needed with that little one! We all have breakfast and play at home, then I take my 3-year-old, Tate, to school and head over to our office that is around the corner from his school. From there, each day is a little bit different. Some days, I’m in the office working on designing the collection or working with our marketing director on an upcoming campaign. Other days are spent meeting with our store managers and working on merchandising our shop. I work best in the mornings so I try to get all of my emails and “must do” tasks done then. I leave the office around 4:30 or 5 and then head home to my boys. MEG SHACKLETON |

about those little boys every second of my day. No one can explain what it feels like to love and be so fully consumed by little humans. You’re never off duty! MINI |

What is your greatest joy of motherhood?

I love the early morning cuddles when they first wake up. They’re so sweet! MEG SHACKLETON |

MINI |

What surprised you most?

The sleeplessness! Everyone told me I’d be tired, but I didn’t expect to be so tired all the time! MEG SHACKLETON |

What is most important to you in raising your kids?

MINI |

Raising kind children who think about others before themselves. MEG SHACKLETON |

We know schedules can be hectic— so tell us about yours!

MINI |

Looking back to your first days as a parent, what advice would you give yourself?

MINI |

Stop asking so many questions and just go with it! When I first had Tate, I remember constantly trying to figure out the “whys” of the baby world. I’ve learned that babies do things on their own timeline and trying to play the guessing game of the why or how can make you go crazy! Just enjoy the process and try to take your little one’s lead! I love our French bistro stools. We had them in our home in Montreal which I loved so much. We’ve covered a lot of mileage in those chairs— lots of decisions have been made sitting in them! JULIET ANGUS |

Do you have a favorite room in your home?

MINI |

Georgina’s room. I knew exactly what I wanted for her room, but didn’t know where to source things in London as I’ve never fully decorated a home here. I worked on it with my girlfriend Sophie Stanbury who is an interior designer. She helped me pick fabrics and pieces and get the canopy done. JULIET ANGUS |

What are some of your other favorite elements in your kids’ rooms?

MINI |

The Matthew Williamson canopy in Georgina’s room. Matthew is a friend and his prints are so fun! In Truman’s room, I love all of his little figures that he’s chosen to have on his cabinet. I don’t like clutter; I like everything put away, but I just think it’s so sweet that he wants as many of his favorite little guys lined up where he can see them. JULIET ANGUS |

Thank you for inviting us into your home! Tell us about the place! How would you describe it?

MINI |

Functional! This is our fourth home in London in seven years. We are still renting as we just received our indefinite leave to remain in the UK last year, which means we can stay basically forever now. I haven’t decorated a home in London yet— we brought our furniture from our home in Montreal and have slowly been getting rid of it and replacing with new pieces. JULIET ANGUS |

What are some of your favorite elements in your home?

MINI |

Where do you spend the most time in your home?

MINI |

The kitchen, although I don’t really cook. JULIET ANGUS |

You’re always on the go, even with the kids! What are your tricks to making traveling with kids a little easier?

MINI |

I never complicate it. It doesn’t stress me out— we just go! Traveling is one of my absolute greatest joys, especially with the children. My mom showed me the world from a young age; Africa, China, I want to take them everywhere! When they were babies, I bought them velour, plush, padded Petit Bateau blankets that we still travel with. They can make any sleeping situation more comfortable (planes, trains, and automobiles). I also love this large FOM pillow from Brookstone it always goes on airplanes with us.

cultures and traditions as their classmates are from all around the world. And the education system is absolutely incredible. Truman is six years old and learning his times tables!

JULIET ANGUS |

What do you love most about raising your kids in London?

MINI |

JULIET ANGUS |

They are exposed to so many

On a career note, tell us about your blog and how you’ve seen it evolve over the past few years.

MINI |

I’m trying to focus on it more now that I have more free time. For the last four years, I have been filming Ladies of London for three to four months of the year and I’d have to put the blog on hold and then come back to it. I’m now trying to get into the groove of being a full-time blogger and influencer. JULIET ANGUS |

What helps you to juggle motherhood and career?

MINI |

JULIET ANGUS |

My husband. He is my every-

thing and supports me so much— he lets me be me! He deserves sainthood; he really is the greatest human in the world. If we could clone him, the world would be a much calmer, reasonable, more sane and kind place. MINI |

What is your greatest joy of motherhood?

Everything! They fill my life with so much joy, it’s insane! JULIET ANGUS |

where they came from! I’ve recently told them they didn’t come out of my belly button and now they are asking, “but how do you make a baby?” You really can’t say ‘when two people love each other’ until they’re 16 these days; it all starts so much earlier. Georgina is 9 and started reading her friend’s book on puberty and now all she wants to talk about is puberty! I’m not ready for this part! What is most important to you in raising your kids?

MINI |

JULIET ANGUS |

Loving them so much that when they go to bed at night, they feel it, and when they wake up in the morning, they know it. I want them to feel love and trust in our family unit that we all have each others’ backs, always. Talking to them and being straight with them, explaining things so they have an understanding of when we say ‘no’ or if they misbehave. Gregor and I as parents always take the time to explain why you can and can’t do something.

What do you think is the one thing no one really warns you about?

MINI |

When you start being honest to your kids about how they were made and

JULIET ANGUS |

On the flip side, what is your greatest parenting worry or fear?

MINI |

Living in London, when they leave the house to go somewhere super big and public without me—like the mall or an amusement park or ice skating rink—I have mild panic attacks. MINI |

since I’ve become a mom, wife and career gal. I’ve spent good money on key investment pieces. And I spend more money on clothes now than I ever have before as it’s now my job! I know great excuse, right? MINI |

What will you be wearing most this fall?

A lot of velvet, long robe jackets, PVC pants, faux fur coats, tweed or plaid blazers and coats, high-waisted skinny jeans, metallic boots and berets.

Looking back to your first days as a mom, what advice would you give yourself?

MINI |

I can’t say I would change anything or give myself advice. I loved every single second of it. I miss those early, first days so much. They really were the most perfectly blissful years of my life. JULIET ANGUS |

JULIET ANGUS |

Are there more kids in your future or, sorry Lady Peanut Butter,— more dogs?

MINI |

Not a week goes by these days MINI | Where do you like to shop? For yourself that I don’t say I want another baby!
