Printmaking for Fine Art Prints

Karen Rognsvoog Learn the technique of carving an image on linoleum blocks and printing multiple images from that one block. Work with water-based inks and Japanese rice papers. Learn about reduction prints, rainbow rolls, and other design options. For those with some carving experience, learn the technique of carving woodcuts. Art Glass Mosaic: Mug Planter or Sign

Lindsey Guetter Create a unique mini-planter or pen cup using a coffee mug, or a colorful sign with cut glass. Create the perfect herb planter for your desk or kitchen, or create a welcome sign, house number, or another sign idea of your choosing. Glass is pre-cut and stencils are available. Design and glue the glass to the project on the first night and focus on grout and finishing your project the second night. Bring old towels for the second night of class. Unique Glass Mosaics

Pottery on the Wheel — Advanced

Taylor Van Clay Express your passion for clay as you expand your pottery skills. This is an advanced class — there will be no instruction in the basics of throwing and glazing. Cooking NEW! Homemade Pasta Made Perfect

Laurel Severson You haven’t eaten pasta until you’ve made it yourself — the texture and taste will amaze you! Create delicious homemade pasta with just a few basic ingredients. Use pasta machines to roll and cut, or go ‘low tech’ and roll and cut by hand. Add to your homemade pasta with delicious fresh sauces and pestos. Salmon and Spring: A Great Combination

Steve Frederickson Discover three great recipes for salmon that you can use all spring and summer and then into the fall too. Create salmon with champagne cream sauce that can be prepared either in the broiler or on the grill. Prepare a citrus ginger salmon, a great tribute to the coming season. Finally, whip up a dijon salmon, with a little heat and sweetness combined to make your palate water. Laurel Severson Prepare a sumptuous Greek feast all in one class. Learn to make the national soup Soupa Avgolemono, a lemon-flavored chicken soup. Create the flaming cheese appetizer Saganaki, plus an eggplant appetizer. Zucchini with ground lamb moussaka is a wonderful variation from the better known eggplant dish. Register Early! Registrations are on a first-come basis. The decision to cancel a class due to low enrollment is made before the class date, so please register early to prevent your class from canceling.

Registration Information Mark your calendar and assume you are registered. Your class will be held at the time and place indicated in the brochure unless you are contacted. We will notify you if a class is filled, canceled, or changed.

Inclement Weather Information If the Hopkins School District is closed due to weather, then Community Education classes and activities may be canceled. If the weather turns bad late in the day, Community Education may also cancel activities. Cancellation Policy and Refund Information We will gladly refund your class registration fee, or switch your class, if you cancel five business days prior to the first class. Once a class has begun, no refunds or changes will be made. You may send a friend in your place if, at the last minute, you find you are unable to attend your class. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In that case, we will call you and arrange to refund your class fee.
