Enrolment We take enrolments Tuesday to Friday between 10 am and 3.30 pm.

Welcome to the Haddon & District Community House Term 4 Program Guide A very warm welcome to those returning and newcomers to the House for term 4, our last for 2013, where did the year go? I hope you will find something new to excite you in our the spring course program. And remember we always welcome suggestions for classes and if you are able to teach a skill , or volunteer to share your expertise then please come talk to me and we may be able to offer those activities at the house next year! We received some very exciting news in August, that the ‘House’ had been awarded the inaugural ‘Grampians Learn Local Legend Award’ voted by the ACFE Regional Council and Board. Only eight awards were made in Victoria under this category. A group of us went down to the St Kilda Town Hall for the presentation and the awards dinner on August 29th. It was a lovely evening and we felt very proud to have won this title especially as we are such a very small centre amongst many larger organisations. It is a something we hope will be celebrated by all those who volunteer and attend the House and is an affirmation of the hard work and support. We have some new computer classes available this term and some very popular returning ones such as MYOB. One of our exciting new computers courses is the 'Intel® Easy Steps program. With successful completion you will receive a certificate. We know this will be very popular and we already have had many students book in so you will have to be quick to secure a place. And nearly all of our computers have been replaced in the computer lab now and some are touch screens so they are really user friendly! We had our first ‘high tea’ in term three and it was very popular so we are offering it again. Why not get a group together to enjoy a few hours socialising and learn at the same time? Some of our exciting new classes are: creative writing, essay writing, ‘Unlock The Mystery of The Most Complicated Chinese Character…,’ the ‘Citizen Journalists Project ‘ - they sound so intriguing don't they? And some classes returning are: computers, card making and the quilters group sessions. Or learn to relax with art classes or get fit with tai chi, yoga or meditation sessions. We are very proud to offer a large range and variety of courses and activities. Our trainers and tutors are highly trained and are dedicated to help you with your learning journey, creative pursuit or healthy activity. The Community House is YOUR House and we want to know what you want on offer in addition to that we already have in the program so please let us know if you have any ideas. So take a look through our program and book early as we need sufficient numbers to proceed with the courses and many have limited numbers as well. As always a big thank you to our supporters and volunteers. And please check and ‘like’ our page and keep informed of the latest news and activities on our Facebook page. “Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did.” - Sarah Caldwell
