Fitness Stations (Outdoor)
Working out can be tough. We know that at the Parks and Recreation Department. That's why we want you to have a whole new point of view when you work out. We have outdoor fitness equipment at more than 47 parks where you can enjoy the great outdoors while getting fit and toning those muscles. And it's free. Your own outdoor gym!
These outdoor fitness stations feature high quality equipment that allows you to combine your cardio workout on the trails with a total body workout on the equipment. The majority of the installations were made possible by an Americans Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded grant entitled Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW). With the exception of Apache Creek, these parks are open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The linear park is open sunrise to sunset. So get out there and enjoy the fresh air and the scenery while getting fit.
