The start-up acceleration phenomenon is a recent trend in the field of entrepreneurship, impacting academia, policy makers and practioners, but not yet fully researched or comprehended. The existing literature on business incubators, technology transfer and corporate entrepreneurship provide few cues on how to interpret the acceleration phenomenon, justifying the case for an in-depth analysis on how accelerators (and its accelerated ventures) differentiate from existing initiatives. This work aims to contribute to this discussion by mapping the current research and definitions of the acceleration phenomenon and suggesting a number of potential investigation lines to be deployed in the upcoming years.

This case examines the rise and fall of WeWork—a company that experienced one of the most dramatic changes of fortune in technology company history. For several years, WeWork was a Silicon Valley darling, growing at breakneck speed with visionary Adam Neumann at the helm. By some estimates, Neumann’s company was worth USD 47 billion in January of 2019. But when the company filed paperwork in preparation for going public later that year, investors balked at the details revealed in the documents: billions of dollars in losses and lots of questionable behavior on the part of Neumann (including numerous conflicts of interest involving his personal business dealings). The initial public offering was postponed and later withdrawn; Neumann was forced to step down as CEO; and by May of 2020 the company’s valuation had dropped to USD 3 billion. Exploring this recent history will provide an opportunity to ask what lessons can be drawn from the rise and fall of WeWork, and from the economic and social context that enabled its growth.

4. Financial Plan: Our concept is unique; however, we also need to convince lending institution that it can be successful and profitable. The purpose of this financial plan is to obtain debt-based capital and to secure private equity funding. The total amount of capital needed is $30,000. 4.1. Financial objectives & finance required In our financial plan, we focus exactly what we are trying to achieve, precisely where we want to go and how we plan to get there. We detail the start-up cost, which involved many expenses in opening our business, the projected sales and monthly expenses of actual operation over the three financial years, and the volume of business we will need to generate to be profitable. We also plan to finance our business by two streams: owner injection and crowdfunding (33%) and debt financing with a small business loan in three years, which is expected to pay off at the end of year three. We also set up the break-even and make sure it can be achieved within the year one. Our financial target is maintaining a healthy and progressive surplus cashflow, keep it liquidity and on track.

Value-Originality. Startup companies look for solutions to remove useless issues and enhance the activities offering value adding over the product/service development stage in such a way that such companies will be able to provide great products and more probabilities for success with no need to employ considerable investments from external sources. Accordingly, innovation, business intelligence, and knowledge management will contribute to the positive findings of startup companies. Objectives. Nos dias de hoje vários projetos de empresas nascentes são abortados ou adiados simplesmente por não apresentar um valor presente líquido viável. A teoria das opções reais surge para flexibilizar estes projetos e realizar a análise de viabilidade de uma maneira mais profunda. Este trabalho buscou analisar uma empresa nascente a luz da teoria das Opções Reais. O objetivo principal foi capturar o real valor que estas opções podem gerar para um projeto. Os resultados obtidos mostraram a subavaliação do projeto segundo o método do Fluxo de Caixa descontado e o quanto de valor podemos obter utilizando o método de opções reais. Estes resultados mostram que este modelo pode ser mais adequado a avaliação de empreendimentos nascentes sujeitos a grandes incertezas.

Push notification of cellular is one of the important features in delivery of information from a mobile application. The push notification feature is provided by firebase cloud messaging in sending notification messages to android devices. The application of push notification on the network for business incubator tenant selection can help improve the process and quality of information distribution in building communication networks and information for startups. La doctrine s’est déjà penchée à de nombreuses reprises sur les assurtechs, la menace concurrentielle qu’elles pourraient représenter pour les acteurs traditionnels de l’assurance ou encore sur les technologies dont elles font usage. Elle semble en revanche s’être moins intéressée à l’étude des relations que ces assurtechs nourrissent avec les acteurs du marché qu’elles viennent disrupter.
Cette recherche a donc pour objectif de déterminer différentes catégories d’assurtech. De qualifier les relations de partenariat, de dépendance ou de compétition qu’elles développeront entre elles et avec les acteurs traditionnels du marché. La nature de ces relations sera fonction de leurs caractéristiques et des besoins des acteurs traditionnels dans leur effort de transformation digitale. Des data primaires et secondaires, qualitatives et quantitatives sont employés afin de déterminer un schéma des relations inter-organisationnelles du marché de l’assurance enrichi de ces nouveaux acteurs.
Ces recherches ont conduit à conclure que les stratégies le plus performantes conduiront à voir naitre des écosystèmes composés d’assurtech conceptrices de produit d’assurance et d’assurtech de soutien à la digitalisation entourant des groupes d’assurance traditionnels. Viendront s’ajouter à cet écosystème des prestataires de services liés directement ou indirectement au service d’assurance proposé. Cette nouvelle logique d’écosystème élargira donc la fonction d’assurance de ces acteurs à celle de protection.
Ce model emportera des conséquences majeures sur le marché de l’assurance, sa dynamique, ses facteurs clefs de succès et bouleversera sa logique financière. C’est par des observations et recommandations managériales basées sur cette analyse et les pronostics qui en découlent que se conclura cette recherche

The research of Balanced Scorecard and the Operation of Start-Ups in Thailand. The objective is to study Balanced Scorecard and the Operation of Start-Ups in Thailand. The factors of research include Financial Perspective, Customer Perspective, Internal Process Perspective, and Learning and Growth Perspective. That are classified by company factors were including Filed of Business Operation, Duration of Operation, Number of Employee, Round of Fund Raising, and Average Income per Year. The population used is Start-ups firm in Thailand which recorded in National Innovation Agency (NIA). The samples used in this research amount of 177 firms. The questionnaire was instrument of this research. Data wasanalyzed by using SPSS for Social Science Research. The statistics were percentage, minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation.
The results found that 1) The firms all respondents 177 firms. Most are FinTech 24 firms representing 13.60%, HealthTech 21 firms representing 11.90%, AgriTech 19 firms representing 10.70%, FoodTech 17 firms representing 9.60%, TravelTech 16 firms representing 9.00%, InsurTech and E-Commerce 15 firms representing 8.50%, EdTech and IndustryTech and PropTech 13 firms representing 7.30%, Lifestyle 7 firms representing 4.00%, and Other 4 firms representing 2.30%. Most are operating 1-2 years 73 firms representing 41.20%, 3-4 year 53 firms representing 29.90%, 5-6 years 35 firms representing 19.80%, and more than 7 year 16 firms representing 9.00%. Most have number of employees less than 10 for 65 firms representing 36.70%, 10-20 peoples 51 firms representing 28.80%, 21-30 peoples 32 firms representing 18.10%, and start from 31 peoples upward for 29 firms representing 16.40%. Most are in fund raising round Early Stage for 77 firms representing 43.50%, Serie A 63 firms representing 35.60%, Serie B 23 firms representing 13.00%, Serie C 12 firms representing 6.80%, and Post-Serie C 2 firms representing 1.10%. Most have Average Income per Year less than THB 5,000,000 for 79 firms representing 44.60%, between THB 5,000,001 – 10,000,000 for 40 firms representing 22.60%, between THB 10,000,001 – 15,000,000 for 39 firms representing 22.00% and more than THB 15,000,000 for 19 firms representing 10.70% respectively.

Considering each perspective, the highest is comprised of Internal Process Perspective and Learning and Growth Perspective respectively. The high level is comprised of Customer perspective, and Financial Perspective respectively.

Venture capital is used for innovative projects, which can come in different types, for example, governmental funding, professional investors, and community resources. We look into several aspects of venture capital role in the innovative projects on the material of the North American automotive industry. Venture capital is an efficient way to support start-ups at the early sage when the stakes are high. In the situation of knowledge transfer, stable and popular market of car manufacturing in North America, venture capital serves as a great source to improve production infrastructure despite the risks and high expectations of immediate profits. The state together with business participate in building a venture infrastructure and development of the related schemes, which stimulate various partnerships between corporations, groups of enterprises and individual small businesses with the help of venture investments. Venture capital serves as stimuli for entrepreneurial activity, boosts the release of innovative goods and services, creates millions of jobs in the US automotive industry-within the manufacturing sector and beyond.

In response to societal grand challenges, professors have unique opportunities to be changemakers, repurposing their expertise to deploy relevant, timely, practical, and research-backed knowledge for the betterment of communities. Drawing on scholarship on post-crisis organizing, entrepreneurial hustle and social entrepreneurship, we provide a first-hand, real-time case description of a three-day Virtual Idea Blitz organized in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The event was organized and executed in less than a week and ultimately involved 200 individuals including entrepreneurs, coders, medical doctors, venture capitalists, industry professionals, students and professors from around the world. By the end of the weekend, 21 ideas with corresponding pitches were developed in five thematic areas (health needs, education, small businesses, community, and purchasing). We describe how the community was rapidly rallied, and discuss the key learning outcomes of this spontaneous entrepreneurial endeavor. We provide evidence from participants and mentors that showcase the value of the time-compressed Virtual Idea Blitz in accelerating social entrepreneurial action. We offer practical guidance to academic, community and professional institutions who would like to replicate and/or build upon our approach to stimulate the formation of community and coordinating efforts to thwart the ongoing threat of COVID-19, as well as other societal challenges that might emerge in the future.

Startupy nie są chwilową „modą” w naukach o zarządzaniu. Startupy to zapowiedź nowego typu przedsiębiorstwa, które jest efektem głębokich przeobrażeń, jakim ulega światowa gospodarka pod wpływem potężnych trendów: globalizacji, informatyzacji, automatyzacji, kastomizacji, usieciowienia i wielu innych zjawisk, które kompleksowo dotykają rozmaitych sfer funkcjonowania człowieka. Zarządzanie N.0. w tym kontekście jest próbą stworzenia filozoficznej i metodycznej przestrzeni dla nowego paradygmatu, w ramach którego będzie możliwe wypracowanie skutecznych modeli zarządzania w ponowoczesnej rzeczywistości, w której już dziś funkcjonują przedsiębiorcy przyszłości. Postępująca krytyka doktryny neoliberalnej, globalny kryzys finansowy i postępująca finansyzacja gospodarki, przeobrażenia demograficzne i dojście do głosu nowego pokolenia o wyraźnie różnych oczekiwaniach i poglądach niż ich poprzednicy, rewolucja cyfrowa i jej konsekwencje w sferze komunikacji, wreszcie zagrożenia związane z degradacją środowiska naturalnego, które, wydaje się, osiągnęły w bieżącej dekadzie kulminację, składają się na cywilizacyjny kryzys, którego doświadczamy tu i teraz. Nie jest powiedziane, że startupy są wystarczającą i skończoną odpowiedzią na te wyzwania, ale stanowią pewną próbę „złamania” monopolu korporacji i small biznesu w obszarze przedsiębiorczości poprzez inną formę, organizację i cele swojej działalności.

Abstract By 2015, 53.5% of U.S. workforce participants were Millennials (those born between 1981 and 1996); this majority will grow over the next decade as the generation influences economic development. Here we highlight Millennial workers’ prioritization of purposeful work, values-driven corporate citizenship, and work-life balance, arguing that start-up business entrepreneurship and strategic design, promise to play an important role in reimagining wellness in the workplace. We examine the role of strategic design innovation in the entrepreneurial context, presenting key insights about the design process derived from interviews with five start-up founders—graduates of Parsons’ Entrepreneur’s Lab (ELab) incubator—who deploy design methods and tools in a business context to re-imagine and innovate in ‘human capital’ wellness and work environments.

The government of India characterizes a startup as an element under seven years youthful with a yearly turnover of under 250 million rupees and settled in India. The Startup India driven by the country's Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion helps construct a positive, powerful biological system in the nation, transforming business thoughts into a reality for a prospering startup climate. States and associations domains the nation over presented startup arrangements following the public authority's drive. In the case of traditional and older companies in India, there is a sudden urge for these companies to adapt to the changing market environment to tackle this situation in a good manner. In this paper, we reviewed the various studies done on the economic growth of the Indian startups and older companies in India in the last decade. From this, it was clear that there is a sudden emergence of individual entrepreneurship among the youngsters of India. This indicates that the startup culture in India is booming in this period which can play a vital role in the emerging Indian economy and also in the global markets.

To advance understanding of the reasons for informal sector entrepreneurship, this article evaluates the determinants of cross-country variations in the extent to which enterprises are unregistered when they start operating. Reporting the World Bank Enterprise Survey data on 67,515 enterprises across 142 countries, the finding is that one in five (19.9%) of the formal enterprises surveyed started-up unregistered, although this varies from all enterprises surveyed in some countries (e.g. Pakistan) to 1% of surveyed enterprises in Slovakia. This article considers how entrepreneurs’ fashion themselves as founders. Based on ethnographic research  conducted  in  Australia,  we  discuss  whether  the  informal  dress  codes  of  the  startup world neutralize gender differences. Our findings suggest that informal dress codes reinforce the normative positionality of men as archetypal entrepreneurial actors. They re-inscribe gendered hierarchies that  affect the everyday entrepreneurial experience, and extend distinctly different allowances for nonconformity and unconventionality to men and women. Founders attempt to inhabit  these  gendered  inequalities,  performing  a  kind  of  aesthetic  labor  that  mobilizes  their appearances  to  play  into  as  well  as  counter  the  gendered  expectations  of  the  ecosystem  and extract value from their personal and professional fashioning.

In this research, we use the resource-based view to explore how creative workers leverage individual-level intangible resources to transition after a setback. Empirically, we match two complementary data sources: 1474 project failures by creative workers seeking capital on Kickstarter.com and post-failure market transitions by these individuals (i.e., published works on Amazon.com). Our results indicate that intangible human resources increase the likelihood and speed of post-failure transitions. We examine two moderating effects and find that intangible social resources strengthen this relationship, while intangible psychological resources weaken this relationship. These findings contribute to the emerging literature on creative work and transitioning after initial project failures. Moreover, resource-based view scholars have called for more research at the micro-level and in the early stages of resourcing. We therefore extend the resource-based view by considering the role of individual-level intangible resources at the earliest stages of creative development.

The maximum number of unicorns are found in United States and China. En este trabajo se realiza una revisión de la literatura reciente sobre las redes de emprendimiento. Desde una perspectiva instrumental, se pretende integrar las descripciones teóricas acerca de cómo el contenido y la estructura de las redes sociales contribuyen al éxito de la actividad del entrepreneur. Para tal efecto, esta revisión procede primero exponiendo los diferentes enfoques para el estudio de la relación entre las redes sociales y el proceso de emprendimiento. Posteriormente aborda las distintas definiciones y topologías existentes del concepto de red social de emprendimiento. En tercer lugar se exponen 5 modelos que explican la relación que existe entre las dinámicas de las redes y las etapas de evolución del proceso de emprendimiento; seguidamente este trabajo aborda el papel instrumental de las redes para los emprendedores en desarrollo de su actividad, concentrándose en explicar cómo los entrepreneurs usan las redes para obtener legitimidad social y cognitiva. El trabajo finaliza proponiendo algunas conclusiones y elementos a considerarse en investigaciones futuras.

With indoor co-working spaces, indoor ceiling/hanging/climbing garden as well as outdoor garden, we offer various options of “Gardenia Box” to encourage the influence and connectivity between “plant lovers” and “intellectuals”, thus target to  create a sustainable ecosystem.

We aim at becoming the best green hub model in Vietnam within 6 years. To achieve this goal, we must work actively with investors, startup incubators & accelerators, and supportive government bodies to raise capital as well as broaden partner network including plant farms /plant shops to reduce cost.

Art and entrepreneurship, individually, are not new area of investigation, but are far from constituting consolidated topic 'Artrepreneurship', especially in start-up India and Skill India. Despite the perceptible similarities in processes, as they unfold in the business context, the two areas remained ramified in terms of research and in practice as well. Unemployment, especially among the Indian artists, has become exigency of Indian Government and Education System, to focus on 'Artrepreneurship Skill' development among 'Artists'. This research paper sheds light on the present scenario of raising unemployment among Indian Artists, its adverse effect on economy and developing artrepreneurship skills as possible solution. The results of pilot investigation from artists in selected cities of Maharashtra outlines the field of research. Possible other forms of introducing artrepreneurial thinking, behavior, skills in education system with special reference to Skill India is also discussed. The article ends by outlining the areas of further research.
