    Another Paul McEnroe memory. When I was the ST's managing editor, Paul called me on a satellite phone from Iraq to say he and Richard Sennott had almost been killed. The story he wrote on that experience is in this post:

    President Trump tells Brian Kilmeade it was a false report that he was taken to the underground bunker amid protests, though he confirms he did go to the bunker. He says he went in the day and it was "more for an inspection." "I was there for a tiny, short little period of time."

    When my son was still in HS in St. Paul, he would have said similar things about his school's SRO.

    A group of 10 or so students from North High School are speaking against the removal of school resource officers. They say the officer at their school is “like a father.” “With SROs being gone, nobody’s going to feel safe at school,” one of the students said.

    It’ll go down as an odd footnote to much more consequential events, but the hysteria in south Minneapolis over domestic terrorists supposedly trying to light homes, schools, churches and libraries on fire at night has only increased as the riots subside, and is worth a thread.
