    2 of the police officers charged with aiding and abetting the murder of George Floyd were previously students in the Sociology dept. at the University of Minnesota. Yesterday, my dept. sent the grad students an email requesting we stay silent if contacted by media. Y’all. (1/n)

    In class, he had me call my mom on speaker phone, to ask her to prove that she loved me. She got a notarized letter stating this. He said the evidence was still not bullet proof, and I’d need to look deeper.

    OK here's a good one. In class, he once made me walk down the hall and interrupt Chris Ison's class to confront Chris on cheating on a golf swing once and come back with a quote. It was a confusing morning for many in Murphy Hall. (I believe was there)

    One of a kind, Mac. A hoot to work with and a joy to watch him work. He preached the sermon of journalism. I've never seen anyone happier to expose a bad guy, especially if they were powerful.
