CMBC Congregation: We do.

Leader: By calling and installing Pastor Brumsey into this position, you have all affirmed that he is indeed the person that God has called to be your pastor. Trusting that God knows what God is doing, open yourselves fully to his leadership and guidance. When he tries new things, support him. When he does something different than the way it’s always been done, trust him. When he leads, follow. In doing so, you not only enable him to be the best pastor, but you allow yourselves to be the people that the Holy Spirit is leading you to be.

Charge to CONBAPTISTMissionaryConcordtheCHURCHGREGATION

Leader: Do you promise to consistently yield your life to the control of God’s Spirit so that Christ will live in you and the Spirit of God will manifest His presence, power, and love through you?

Pastor: I do. Leader: Do you promise to give yourself faithfully to the ministry of the Word and to prayer, to be the Good Shepard of this flock of God, to minister to the needs of all alike, to put the service of Christ and His kingdom above all else, if wronged, to forgive as you expect to be forgiven, and to lead Concord Missionary Baptist Church in the ways of Christ as the Holy Spirit may give you wisdom and strength.

Leader: Having been called to be Pastor of Concord Missionary Baptist Church, do you take these people to be your people, this field of labor to be your field, without reservation of mind or heart?

Pastor: I will.

Pastor: I do. Leader: Do you promise to be devoted to your wife, and to illustrate Christ’s love for His church through your marriage? Pastor: I do. Leader: The first flock for a pastor is his own family as Pastor Dad. Therefore, Pastor Brumsey, do you promise to take care of your family, to manage your family well, and to lead your family in the discipline and admonition of the Lord? Pastor: I do. Leader: Pastor Brumsey, remember, how great a treasure is committed to your care. The people you serve are the flock of Christ for whom he gave his life. Do you promise to never stop loving Christ the Shepherd and never cease caring for his sheep? Do you promise to labor faithfully on their behalf and do everything in your power to bring all those entrusted to your care to mature faith and the knowledge of God?

Leader: As an ambassador of Christ, you are to preach and teach the pure doctrine of God's Word, administer the Sacraments according to Christ's institution, instruct the young in the way of salvation, counsel the inquiring, strengthen the weak, seek the lost and reclaim the straying, comfort the sorrowing, care for the needy, visit the sick, minister to the dying, and pray for the spiritual welfare of every soul under your care. You are to devote yourself to the meditation and study of the Scriptures and carry out your duties in conformity with the Word of God. You (and your family) are to be an example to others in godliness and Christian living, putting no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that the ministry will not be discredited. The Apostle Paul says, here is a trustworthy saying: "If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. " (I Timothy 3:1 4, 6, 7) Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction. Keep your head in all situations, endure hardship; do the work of an evangelist; discharge all the duties of your ministry. (II Timothy 4: 2, 5)
