WELCOME On behalf of our family, I’m honored to present our top fallborn heifers at the ranch. As we were selecting the heifers for this sale, we couldn’t help but remember our offering from this time last year, which set the bar pretty high! In this sale, we sold the future National Champion (Miss V8 203/9) and a division winner at The International (Miss V8 208/9.) How sweet it is to watch our customers experience success on the biggest stages. We like the show ring as much as anyone, but for us, there’s nothing more gratifying than driving through our pastures and visiting about many things, especially Brahman cattle. In doing so, we have the opportunity to meet and become friends with many of the finest people in the world. You’ll notice we’re selling daughters of the most in-demand sires we have at V8 Ranch.
Semen on some of these bulls sells for $25,000 per unit. We make it a point to offer daughters from our top bulls at every sale. We believe in sharing our genetics as a way to contribute to the entire breed’s future. When I say “the magic is in the cows,” you better believe there’s plenty of magic in this offering. The dams of these females represent the modern legacy of the legendary cow families that we’ve bred here at V8 for the last 45 years. PAYMENT AND TRANSFER Terms of the sale are cash, check, or bank wire due upon receipt, and before animals leave V8. Unpaid accounts are billed 18% APR beginning thirty (30) days following sale. Upon receipt of payment, V8 Ranch will transfer registration paper to the buyer. If full payment is not received within 14 (fourteen) days, then upon written or electronic notice to buyer, V8 Ranch shall retain ownership of animal with full property rights, including the ability to sell the animal to another buyer.
FEEDING TERMS Heifers will be provided free care in our heifer development program until August 1, 2021, after which feed is billed at $5/head/day. If desired, cattle may be sent to the show barn however feeding charges of $15/day begin immediately. V8 employs some of the best stockmen in the business and spares no expenses in the professional way we care for your cattle. These charges are not designed for us to make money, but to cover our costs. Any veterinary expense will be the owner’s obligation. All accounts will be billed monthly. Feed charges must be paid in full when the cattle are picked up.

Cattle are eligible for a state approved health certificate for interstate shipment in the USA. Buyers should make themselves aware of health requirements for their respective states. Animals have been provided the utmost care, nutrition, and vaccinations under the guidance of our veterinarian. Animals are assumed sound and healthy at sale time. No guarantee is made for health requirements for export outside of the USA.
FEMALE GUARANTEE All females selling in the sale will be accompanied by a veterinary certification of health and soundness prior to the sale. All females are guaranteed to be natural breeders for one natural calf. This however, is not a lifetime insurance policy. This guarantee does not include injury, death, management, or feed or nutrition issues. Breeding guarantee is voided if any of the following occur: injury, death, disease, natural disaster, gross negligence or misconduct, heifers not in suitable body condition score to breed, virgin heifers flushed or IVF’d prior to having a natural calf, or heifers exhibited at livestock shows. Buyers must notify us of any breeding concerns by August 1, 2023. Should a breeding concern arise, buyer is responsible to return the animal to V8. V8 will have 6 months to prove the animal to be a breeder. Should the female be a non-breeder, V8 has the option to select a suitable replacement if available, or issue a sale credit to be used in a future purchase at V8. No cash refunds are given. We make no further guarantees, including but not limited to ability of a female to compete in livestock shows, ability to be halterbroken, disposition, number of years in production, or number of embryos produced. V8 retains the right to one embryo flush on all heifers selling in this sale and retains ownership of all DNA cell lines.

INTRODUCING OUR SUPERBLENDS Whether bull or a female, an animal belongs to the cow family of its dam. Often, we will breed animals from prominent cow families with bulls who boast the power from one of our other cow families. The result is what we call a Superblend™. As you explore the pedigree of our cattle, you’ll notice the blending of multiple cow families across generations of cattle. While the primary designation for our cattle is always determined by their dam's cow family, we have created a Superblend™ label to recognize animals hailing from a blend of two exceptional cow families. For example, +Miss V8 33/8 in the Rose cow family (Rose is her maternal grand dam), also blends with the Claydesta 807U5 cow family through her sire +Mr. V8 191/7. Selling one-half interest. A beautiful +Mr. V8 380/6 daughter to lead off the sale lots. You won’t find many heifers bred as well as this future show heifer. A very unique heifer, sired by “The Machine” and out of a top former high-selling heifer produced by the Hudgins Division of J.D. Hudgins, Inc that is sired by a Houston International Champion Bull, JDH Denton De Manso 592/7, a Lawford son. Even more impressive, 367/9 is a full sister to one of the winningest heifers shown this past year, Miss V8 274/9. At the same age, the heifers look very similar with 367/9 actually showing (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 perhaps a little more refinement and continuation out through her neck and front end. S: +MR. Selling one-half interest. Probably the most interesting heifer in the sale because in blood she is a full sister to Mr. V8 322/8, the 2020 National Champion Bull. Another powerhouse +Mr. V8 380/6 daughter with the dam being a full sister to the world famous +Miss V8 33/8, 322/8’s dam. The dam of 371/9 has been a tremendous donor cow for us. Very similar to 33/8 in pigmentation, body type, and style. We are showing a full sister to 371/9, Miss V8 288/9, a dark pigmented February 2020 heifer. We also have an outstanding brother owned by Ganaderia Los Angeles waiting to be exported to Honduras. A beautiful dark red tinged Yeti 933/7 daughter that is the longest bodied heifer in the sale. Her dam is a 15 year old cow still in production that still has a beautiful youthful udder. She has produced 38 calves by ET. We have retained three daughters and her calves have averaged $10,500. Her dam, +Miss V8 143/6 was a National and International Champion and her flushmate Miss V8 144/6 was Reserve International Champion at the same show. They were 13 months of age the day they won that tremendous honor at Houston for the Acevedo family. This heifer is very similar not only in breeding but also in phenotype to Razorback’s tremendous heifer Miss V8 208/9 who sold for $70,750 in last year’s Made for Magic sale. I think they have been pretty pleased with +Mr. V8 191/7 S: MR. V8 933/7 that decision! This female will definitely breed red on red and grey on grey. Like her half sister in last year’s Miss V8 997/6 sale, this heifer is the gentlest in the sale. There are many interesting ways to mate and flush this heifer using both the best grey and red bulls available in the breed. You can call this heifer fancy, you can call her feminine, I just call her flat good. Her dam, Miss V8 228/8, is the result of over 30 years of dominating consistency from donor female after donor female in the Claydesta 807U5 cow family. Her maternal granddam, 591/7, is a stunning 380 daughter who has produced multiple internet sale heifers, including Miss V8 479/8 (sold for $27,750 to Heidi Ortolon) and recently, Miss V8 282/9 who sold for $52,250 to Razorback Farm. Miss V8 392/9 is a V8 Superblend™, blending the Claydesta 807U5 family with +Miss V8 805/6. Taking it one step further, her dam 228/8 blends with the +Miss V8 410/6 cow family through Ocho Cinco, so genetically, 392/9 offers +Mr. V8 458/7 S: MR. This is one of the most three-dimensional females in the sale and she comes from the crème de la crème of our most current V8 genetics. Another V8 Superblend™, she blends the Miss V8 539/6 cow family (who produced Dreamgirl, Vaquero, and Guardian) with the +Miss V8 805/6 family through her sire Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan.” Her dam, Miss V8 319/8, is a full sister to the dams of both Mr. V8 997/6 “Vaquero,” (our top selling AI sire for 2020) and Mr. V8 562/8 “Guardian” (a two-time International division winner). This 380 daughter was a former show female and class winner at Houston and has matured into an even more impressive donor female with the brood cow characteristics our females are known for. Selling one-half interest. There seems to be a “battle cry” within the last year that “we” (Brahman breeders and the Association) need more emphasis on carcass traits. If you believe that, and we do, then this heifer has to be considered, thus the reason we are retaining a one half interest. She ranks in the top 10% or better for nine different measurable ABBA traits, with five of the six carcass traits being in the top 10% along with WW (top 5%), YW (top 5%), TM (top 3%) and SC (top 10%). All this performance with a very desirable birthweight of 72 pounds. Quite rare and hard to produce. Phenotypically, she is a moderate framed, heavy muscled, very gentle heifer – all characteristics of her popular sire, Mr. V8 274/7 “George.” When George was a calf, he too had a very light birthweight and started growing from the minute he nursed his dam. He was the heaviest weaned bull calf that year. People throughout the world love George. On our Facebook, the video of George being unloaded off the trailer to Mr. V8 463/6 breed cows is still our number one watched video (over 9 million views)! He is a rock star and extremely D: MISS V8 171/8 popular. His female lineage reads like a who’s who among show champions and leading donor cows at V8. From all indications, this meat wagon has all the characteristics to be an easy fleshing cow with many different options to consider when choosing sires to use in future flushes. Another beautiful dark pigmented George daughter out of Vaquero’s dam. Like Lot 6, this female also has powerful carcass numbers and performance EPDs. She has four of the six traits measured in the top 10% with tenderness in the top 4%. She is a great example of the V8 Superblend™. The blending of the 539/6 (Dreamgirl’s granddam) cow family with the +Miss V8 165/4 female line. Study the chart on the right hand page – Miss V8 539/6, the old South Texas donor cow, is still going strong at 17 years old and has an udder like a three year old. This heifer comes from quite a female line at V8. If you study 410/9 you’ll notice immediately she has that great V8 profile. Head up, a lot of continuation out that front end and a world of balance and style. Moderate in her frame, she is the youngest heifer in the sale and would most likely be one of the youngest in the October class. She won’t be the biggest heifer in the class but she’ll be one of the most balanced, heaviest muscled, eye-appealing heifers to lead in.
