FOBISIA Climbing

The competition spanned two thrilling days of intense climbing action:

Day 1 - Boulder Challenge: Participants engaged in short, skillful climbs without ropes, navigating through 30 routes, each assigned a specific point value. The competition lasted 3 hours, with victory going to the student who conquered the most routes. The boulder routes offered a fantastic array of challenges and styles to test the climbers. Tanglin excelled in the boulder event, with James (10Cn) and Aston (11Wx) being the only two climbers to complete all 30 climbs, both proudly representing Tanglin.

Day 2 - Top Rope Adventure: This day featured long routes using ropes, once again comprising 30 routes with assigned point values. The route setters underestimated the climbers, resulting in a captivating tie for gold in the U17 Male category. The miscalculation set the stage for an incredibly exciting finish, especially in the U19 Male category, where a climber from UWCEast and Aston traded attempts. The tension escalated as both fell short, but the East climber eventually made a spectacular leap to the final hold, securing victory and forcing Aston into a well-fought second place

15th Singapore Gymnastics National Championships

The National Championships serves as the highest level of gymnastics competition in Singapore, acting as a crucial route for Singaporeans to attain national team status and recognition.

Tanglin, being one of just two international schools participating, stood alone in both the boys' category and the higher-level girls' division.

We take immense pride in our squad's remarkable performance on this prestigious stage, as they not only represented themselves admirably but also showcased the school's strength by standing tall among these clubs as formidable competitors.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all for the ongoing support

UWC East: Super Cup Football

Our U19 boys and girls participated in the inaugural South East Asia Super Cup hosted by UWCE, providing competitive football for our oldest players later in the academic year Prior to the tournament, both teams showcased excellent skills against our Singaporean rivals, UWC East.

During the weekend, our girls faced NIST and Shrewsbury from Bangkok, demonstrating quality finishing and securing victories, notably against NIST. In a hard-fought match on Saturday afternoon against Shrewsbury, they showed resilience, securing a 2-2 draw and winning the cup on goal difference.

The boys, led by Mr. Robinson, comfortably defeated NIST and started strongly against Shrewsbury on Saturday, ultimately securing their first Super Cup. On Sunday, breaking tradition, our players united with UWC East to form a Singapore team, with Mr Baker guiding the girls in a showcase game.

Overall, this experience provided valuable competitive exposure for all players, representing both the school and country admirably in 11v11 matches.
