WELCOME
At last, a new brochure! Welcome to the spring edition, with all sorts of shenanigans going on. It’s been a successful winter and now the evenings are drawing out there’s a lot to enjoy in the coming weeks. Not least a whole bunch of classic films in The Lounge, including Ridley Scott’s seminal 1979 Alien, the Coen brothers brilliant 1998 comedy The Big Lebowski which gives Withnail & I a run for its money as one of the most quotable films ever made.
There are two very British films, Quadrophenia, also from 1979, starring an alarmingly young cast of now very familiar British faces. Look out for Brighton seafront, of course. Ken Russell’s 1975 film Tommy, which is also based on a The Who concept album, has a scene shot in Brighton. The amazing Pinball Wizard sequence was filmed inside The Dome and the story goes that Elton John so loved the giant Doc Marten’s he wears that he insisted on keeping them. Ken Russell was a real innovator and this film pretty much invented the modern music video. A brilliant chance to see it in the cinema, honestly, don’t miss it.
We’re also showing the BEST super hero movie ever in glorious 4K, the 1979 Superman, with Christopher Reeve, which I’m particularly pleased about. A superb mix of adventure and humour.
We’ve got a bunch of events at the restaurant coming up that look like fun, Easter Sunday music and a special Coronation cream tea.
I wanted to mention our pre-ordering service that some of you might not be aware of. In the email we send you, and the subsequent text a couple of hours before the show, if you click on the link for your tickets you can also pre-order your food and drink. If you have Lounge tickets we can deliver to your seat when you arrive. Our membership continues to grow and grow, and we are so pleased. If you aren’t a member and you come to the cinema, you should definitely consider it, it really is cost effective.
As usual the team work very hard to make this the best cinema and restaurant experience we can, but we couldn’t do it without your support, and for that we all thank you.

Our child-friendly screenings are every Saturday at 10.30am and feature a mix of recent blockbusters and classic family films, all rated U or PG and at pocket money prices. Remember, as this is a fun time especially for kids, adults can only attend a SMM screening if they are accompanying children. Children over 10 can attend a SMM screening without an adult present, but the cinema does not provide dedicated supervision.

ACCESSIBILITY WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Due to the age of the building wheelchair access to the foyer is via a side entrance from the high street. Please ring the door bell on arrival. Screen 1 has a wheelchair space in the position of seats A13 and A14. If you are able to transfer from a wheelchair and can negotiate one shallow step then seat E9 is accessible in The Lounge. We apologise there is no wheelchair access to Screen 2. The restaurant has wheelchair access at the rear of the building with only the top section being wheelchair accessible.
CEA CARD
For registered carers, we can now accept a valid CEA Card at the cinema counter for general release films.
HEARING AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
We have Dolby Wireless assistance head sets for general release films which supply either audio description or the sound film track directly to your headset. These are available on most general release films but there will be the occasional film that it is not available for. Please ask a member of staff for assistance. General release films with subtitles will be indicated on the website with ST.
PARKING
There is FREE (3 & 10 hour) parking just behind the cinema in Luxford Carpark via Civic Approach and Library Way.
