Arcadis is the only organization allowed to use this document and holds the copyright with the Philippine National Library.

WHAT
WE DO Energy audits come with three different levels of comprehensiveness. Every building and building owner is different and is looking to achieve different things. For some it is essential for commercial viability, for others something they would like some expert input on before considering further. We have detailed the options below:

WALK THROUGH ASSESSMENT A simple and basic audit that involves a review of utility bills, interviews with site operating personnel, and a walkthrough of the facility. The purpose is to see glaring areas of energy inefficiency and uncover major problem areas. Data is compiled to produce a preliminary report with no-cost / low-cost measures and potential capital improvements for further study. This level of detail is enough to prioritize energy efficiency projects and assess the need for a more detailed audit.
ENERGY SURVEY AND ANALYSIS A Level 2 audit builds on the preliminary ASHRAE Level 1 analysis and would include a more detailed data collection, energy calculation, and financial analysis of proposed energy efficiency measures. The level of detail would be adequate to justify project implementation.
DETAILED ANALYSIS This level focuses on the potential capital-intensive projects identified in the Level 2 analysis. It would involve more detailed data gathering as well as a more rigorous engineering analysis. Existing data will be supplemented with sub-metering and operations monitoring for major energy consuming systems.

Project Description • Carried out level 2 energy audit for P&W Aerospace Industrial Facilities • Provided energy reduction plan through 2020 • Identified total annual energy saving potential of 5.1 GWh or USD 577k with simple payback of 2.8 years overall • Equivalent to 9.3% potential reduction on total consumption
HSBC SKM Data Centre Cooling Optimisation Client: HSBC Location Hong Kong
Project Description • Installed cold aisle containments for data halls with upgrade on temperature and air flow controls • Follow up with cooling optimisation on cold aisle temperature and air volume supply, and chilled water temperature • Achieve annual energy saving of 1.1 GWh or USD 120k • Equivalent to 2.2% verified reduction on total consumption

Project Description • A six-storey office building in Makati City, awarded LEED Gold for Existing Buildings in March 2015 • Arcadis provided technical advice on Level 1 and 2 Energy Audits
HSBC Center Chiller Replacement Client: HSBC Location Hong Kong
Project Description • Reviewed cooling capacity requirement for actual building cooling load • Recommended replacement of 15 years old air cooled chillers with high efficiency oil free chillers and associated chilled water pumps • Improved chiller plant coefficient of performance (COP) from 2.5 to 3.9, resulting in annual energy saving of 2.6GWh or USD 359k • Recommendations led to 13.4% verified reduction on building consumption
