THE NEW YORK TIMES

We are honored to present you an opportunity to further relationships with current customers, as well as interact with potential new clients as a Partner with Salon Art + Design.

Salon Art + Design, based in New York, is currently the largest design fair in the United States and features the world’s most influential galleries and partners. Exhibitors specialize in historic, modern, and contemporary design, while our partners elevate and enhance the experience for our visitors. Salon’s exhibitors and special exhibitions are synonymous with contemporary culture, making it the only international fair of this caliber to combine styles, genres, and periods.

Top interior designers bring their high-net-worth clients who are looking to create beautiful spaces within their homes. The average individual VIP, Collector Card is used seven times throughout the duration of the fair. Collectors visit Salon to furnish their multi-million-dollar homes and have long-term propensity to own all categories of luxury brands, from art to wine, to the cars they drive—every purchase is a vetted decision.

Salon–TheIntersectionofArt+Designbegan in 2020, when the world came to a stand-still and hosting an in-person event was impossible. In an effort to create a unique experience, like the fair itself, a printed magazine was produced which, not unsurprisingly, stood out against the flurry of digital and virtual fairs. The magazine was a resoundi ng success as a platform and reference guide for our international exhibitors and partners and marked the beginning of this exclusive, annual publication.

Now published one month prior to the November fair, the print edition of Salon–TheIntersectionofArt+Design is mailed, at no cost, directly to the homes of 24,000 international collectors, interior designers, and architects. The digital version of the magazine receives an average of 500,000 + impressions. The print edition is available for sale online as well as gifted to visitors at Salon Art + Design, November 9–13.

The historic front rooms at Park Avenue Armory were designed and executed by the most prominent designers, architects, and artists of the era, including Louis Comfort Tiffany, Stanford White, and the Herter Brothers—the Rem Koolhaas, Renzo Piano, and Frank Gehrys of yesteryear. Entry Chandelier

NORTH HALL | THE LIBRARY

The Library is the second room at the Armory designed by Louis C. Tiffany with Stanford White as ‘Associated Artists.’ It features a magnificent basket weave, barrelvault ceiling and original Tiffany windows. This intimate room, approximately 13’ x 31’, gives 403 square feet of working space and is located directly to the left of the main entrance. Minimal installation of free-standing walls and presentations on pedestals are allowed.

Partner Fee: US$60,000

NORTH HALL | FIELD & STAFF

The Field & Staff room was designed by Pottier & Stymus in the Renaissance Revival style. The room’s original floral and geometric stencil-work at the wainscoting and frieze has recently been revealed. The room is at the very far end of the North Hall and can be used separately or combined with a special design exhibition in the North Hall. The F & S room is 19.6 ‘ x 41’ deep and can be partially built out or boxed three-sided with walls. If completely built out, the estimated room size will be 15’ x 36’ deep, The Partnership Fee for the Field & Staff alone is US$40,000, in combination with the North Hall, 12’ x 6’ deep is US$60,000.

NORTH HALL | THE SUPER’S

The Super’s room is in a desirable location to the left of the main entrance of the Armory. Salon will build out the 10’ high wall enclosures with an estimated room size of 13 x 30’ deep, with approximately 390 square feet of working space, allowing the partner to create an

aesthetically pleasing design exhibition for Salon’s top Collectors. Additional fabrication and design are the responsibility of the partner. Partnership Fee: US$50,000

SOUTH HALL | THE PARLOR

The Parlor’s flexible space can be used as it is or decked out with custom fabrications. Depending on design and wall build out, the room has between 300 to 316 square feet of working space. If used as-is there are three distinctive areas with spaces as follows: 116 square feet, 164 square feet, and 36 square feet for a total of 300 square feet. Fabrication and design are the responsibility of the partner. The room also features two entrances and can open the second door pending weight of wall fixtures.

Partnership Fee: US$40,000

SOUTH HALL | BOARD OF OFFICERS ROOM

The Board of Officers Room is allocated as the Salon Café. This is one of the few surviving Herter Brothers interiors in the country, but one of five in the Armory. Herter Brothers was a top cabinet-making and interior design firm in the Gilded Age and designed the Fifth Avenue mansion of William H. Vanderbilt (now demolished). This room still retains the original painted ceiling and magnificent mahogany woodwork. In addition to the backdrop and visitor seating, there is an area that can showcase the room partner, with a special design / seating area for the Salon visitors. Note that all furniture provided must be able to be enjoyed by the fair visitors. The special design display / seating area is approximately 10’ wide x 8’ deep within the café. Partnership Fee: US$25,000

SOUTH HALL | THE COLONEL’S ROOM

Originally designed by Herter Brothers, this room was substantially redecorated in the 1930s and 40s, including extensive additions to the original French black walnut wainscoting and overpainting of the original Pompeiian red walls and light blue ceiling. The room size is 21’ x 36.1’ with approximately 750 square feet of working space. Partnership Fee: US$60,000

SOUTH HALL | MARY DIVVER ROOM

One of three rooms by Herter Brothers on the first floor, but the only one in which they did not design the woodwork, which was completed by Alexander Roux and Company. The hearth is surrounded by Minton art tiles depicting Arthurian legends after Tennyson. The original Herter Brothers stencil work was overpainted in the 20th century. The room was dedicated to Mary Divver, an orphan adopted by the Regiment in the 1850s. The room size is 22’ x 36.6’ deep with approximately 640 square feet of working space. Partnership Fee: US$60,000

NORTH & SOUTH HALLS

The Armory North and South Hallways can be used for displays, art installations, even automobiles. The possibilities are endless. The usable exhibition spaces at the end of the areas are approximately 11’ wide, 5’ deep and 10’ high. Optional additional display space is available for up to 6’ wide x 5’ long.

Fabrication and design of the display is the responsibility of the partner. Partnership Fee (per space): US$35,000

SPECIAL DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES | UNDER GRAND STAIRCASES

The Entryway is 13.5 feet wide, with a slanted ceiling that is 15 to 20 feet high. The chandelier must be pre-wired to 110v or 220v, ideally have one rigging point, and be ready for installation.

Partnership Fee: US$15,000

As you walk into the exhibition of the world’s most influential galleries exhibiting historic, modern, and contemporary furniture; groundbreaking design, and late 19th and 20th century art, your special design exhibition will be located at one or both sides of the entrance. This position is the Salon’s visitors’ first location experience as they enter the exhibition hall, a display vs. tra nsactional location. Each side is 8 feet long by 3 feet deep for a total of 24 squar e feet. Salon will build out the enclosed shell of three-sided, 10 foot backdrop walls. The partner is responsible for remaining display fabrications, including special painting, pre-made panels, non-sta ndard fabrics if desired, as well as desired platforms and display materials. Note: the standard wall that we provide is only able to withstand a certain amount of weight. If, after review of the proposal, it is recommended to have additional reinforcement, we will need to review costs of the adjustment.
