This strain is an Indica dominant hybrid With its super sugary berry filled flavor that can be almost sour, it gives its users a tingly head high effect that will spread through the entire body Although this is indica leaning, it is known to give a nice head high with a lot of energy that as you wind down can lock you on the couch To me, this sounds like a perfect strain for the “walk with your cousins” right before everyone sits down to eat

Banana Kush

An Indica leaning hybrid strain that is well known for the tropical flavors it has It is said it tastes and smells like a bundle of fresh bananas This is recommended to use at night before getting ready for bed Its intended effect is to make you fall into a deep sleep to fully recharge for the next day For some people, it can give a nice euphoric high that does zone them out into a mellow state If used in a social setting, you should be able to stay awake due to its alleged talkative effects If you’re already talkative, maybe don’t use it before your family gets together, you might talk an ear off

Cherry Pie

While this strain can remind you of Thanksgiving by name, it is more than that It is a solid hybrid strain that has notes of both sweet and sour cherries. Most people feel that it makes them have a euphoric high that gives them giggle fits You can also rely on it to take effect after a few minutes and stick around for a long while Although this strain can give you some serious dry mouth, it’s important to stay hydrated anyway

Gelato

There are a lot of different strains that are crossbred from Gelato but there is only one “Larry Bird ” This is a typically well balanced hybrid strain with fruity and woody flavors In recent years, this strain has blown up in its popularity, and for good reason It is a THC powerhouse that can be almost too much for new smokers For medical users, the high THC content can be a great help as this strain can be used to treat fatigue, headaches, and chronic pain The other Gelato strains like #3, #33, or #45 are also great choices if you can’t find the original

Clementine

This citrusy strain is highly energetic and Sativa dominant Most people love the citrusy taste and aroma, so much so that it has won awards like Best Sativa Concentrate back in 2015 This strain is perfect for use in the early mornings, wake and bakes with this and it should act like a cup of coffee Some say this is a good strain for activating your “third eye” and stoking your creativity

Florida, Get Ready for Pot at Your Local Gas Station

The company Green Thumb Industries has announced that they will begin selling licensed marijuana at gas stations in Florida next year.

This is a global first, as legal pot cannot yet be sold outside of dispensaries and pharmacies around the world, like Uruguay's government run market place system which opened last month and Germany, which allowed vending machine operators to include cannabis products among their offerings starting this past October

A deal was recently signed between Circle K one major US convenience store chain with 600 locations across America and GTI Incorporated The partnership of weed and gas stations may be a global first, but it’s an exciting development nonetheless

GEORGIA

Georgia Court Again Halts the Production of Medical Marijuana.

The court action that froze the state issued grow licenses to two companies caused the state's medical cannabis production program to stall again As a result, even though Georgia has legalized medicinal marijuana, it is still unlawful to purchase it since no one is growing it there

Last week, one of the state's two new grow licenses was issued to a south Georgia medicinal cannabis company Tyler Harper, a candidate for agriculture commissioner, posted photos of the event on his Facebook page However, due to a court ruling that other businesses that filed for licenses but were turned down without due process, neither it nor another company licensed by the state medical cannabis board is yet able to produce their product

OREGON Record Amount of Illegal Pot and Guns Seized from Newberg Property

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office made what they say is the largest illegal marijuana bust in department history while serving a search warrant last week. The sheriff’s office says 76,930 pounds of cannabis and several guns were found at an operation on 14000 block Stone Road near Newberg After conducting surveillance operations over several months which led up to this major breakthrough that has helped them take five people into custody for drug trafficking charges including weapons violations The five suspects that were arrested at the property, which was reportedly being run by major drug trafficking organizations, didn't have any licenses filed for growing/producing medical marijuana prior to the bust

Terpenes are a large and diverse class of organic compounds found in plants They are responsible for the unique aromas of various plants and play a role in their medicinal

Let's take a close look at each cannabis terpene profiles, what their medicinal effects are as well as the cannabis strains we can find them in.

How was cannabis used in NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE?

Sitting fireside with loved ones and friends at sunset Smoking cannabis Listening to and feeling the energy of thunderstorms rolling in from the West Expressions of gratitude are felt through song and dance

And, for what seems to be hours celebrating life with pure joy, everyone feels unique and at the same time equal That is how I envision my Native American ancestors spending their time on any given night

There is not a clear cut answer as to how Native Americans used cannabis because research reveals that not all Native Americans consumed or utilized cannabis And for the ones who did, this article might seem harsh given the fact that today, it is illegal to consume or possess (even medical) marijuana on many tribal lands Yet, the time of rebirth is at hand and this reflection is in honor of the unspoken messages left by my Native American ancestors

I can’t say how or if my (Native or European) ancestors used cannabis because it wasn’t something that my family talked about. But I am aware of the deep connection they had with The Great Spirit, and if they had access to cannabis, I imagine they used it to connect more deeply with their great spirit within, from time to time. I can also imagine it was easier for my ancestors to connect with higher powers and spirits because they did not have the distractions and negative influences that we have today.

Sure, we have technological conveniences that help us control our day with alarms and notifications, but do we take time to control our mind and well being that serves our highest good?

For so many years I longed for the connection to spirit and nature that my ancestors had, yet I found it almost impossible to slow my thoughts down I had grown accustomed to quickly recalling facts, finding solutions, and basically filling every minute of my day with some sort of task that I didn’t realize my mind was racing until I tried to meditate When I hit that wall of resistance, I decided to put meditation back on the shelf

About four years ago, I experienced what it felt like to have a quiet mind after consuming cannabis The quiet was so calming and at the same time so powerful, it seemed effortless to view the world with love and light After several more similar experiences with cannabis, I decided to give meditation another try

Of course, it took months before I could see the benefits of meditation (as it pertains to connecting to my spirit and nature) but having a point of reference really helped me stay focused Not only was I able to do meditations without the use of cannabis, I desired other quiet times that didn’t necessarily require the consumption of anything I started to go outside and just sit in the sunshine or the night sky, soaking up the rays without the need to entertain my mind

Experiencing moments of being fully present, powerful, and happy.

As some Native Americans embraced cannabis into their spiritual culture, they also embraced every part of the cannabis plant From making ropes and other textiles to exploring the many healing and relieving properties Even though there are reports of some Native Americans utilizing cannabis to help relieve pain, inflammation, and other ailments, their full awareness of the plant may remain unspoken until cannabis becomes a federally legal option

I’ll admit there is a feeling of disconnect when I attend my yearly health exam at the Indian clinic. Not because of my curly blonde hair, but because there is no discussion of my cannabis usage Even though I credit cannabis for relieving pain which helps me recharge and helps me focus energy elsewhere like exercising every day for an hour there is absolutely no mention of cannabis during my doctor visit.

Maybe change is coming sooner than later

President Biden recently gave the following statement (October 2022):

“Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana. It’s time that we right these wrongs.” (whitehouse gov)

The President was mainly speaking to the reform of incarcerations; however, history reveals

One small step for cannabis, one giant leap for mankind

I take it not only a day at a time, but a moment at a time, and keep it at that pace. If you can be happy right now, then you’ll always be happy, because it’s always in the now.

The attorney and Lt Col,

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) provides a very specific commercial license for a very specific time period Pursuant to the Oklahoma Administrative Code regulations, “[a] medical marijuana business license shall be issued for a twelve (12) month period expiring one (1) year from the date of issuance.” OAC 310:681 5 2(a). The code goes on to provide, “it is the responsibility of the license holder to renew the license, with all applicable documentation, prior to the date of expiration of the license ” OAC 310:681 2 2(c)(1)

Thankfully The Administrative Procedures Act allows license holders who make a timely and sufficient application for renewal, to continue operating and the existing license does not expire until the application is finally determined 75 O S §314 After one year, your license expires as a matter of law unless you renew it If you submitted a timely renewal application, you may continue operating as though you have an active license during the review process

But what happens when you miss the deadline to apply for the renewal? Well after one year of issuance, your license is expired or inactive But, OAC 310:681 5 2(c)(5) states, “[a] commercial licensee that attempts to renew its license after the expiration date of the license shall pay a nonrefundable late renewal fee in the amount of $500 00 to reinstate the license once processed and approved by the Department.” While this provision is new, it has played a part in litigation regarding untimely renewal applications If you fail to timely renew your license with the OMMA you may elect to pay the $500.00 fee, but this fee does not guarantee that your license will be approved, and it does not give the license an active status during the OMMA’s application review period.

Because there is a commercial license moratorium in place, processing your commercial license renewal timely is crucial. Although the OMMA has an online portal to process your renewal application, the portal has experienced failures and is entirely unavailable at times You may apply for your license renewal up to 60

A good day out there to all my canna chefs, I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloweed this year Now that fall is here it's time to get into some of the fun fall recipes I have for you For November I want to make my Flaky Bakey Broccoli & Cheese Pastry, yeah I know it’s a mouthful but wait until you try it! This pastry is a quick and easy recipe that is delicious and will amaze your guests and keep the mood right all night This pastry would be a great appetizer for your Thanksgiving Day activities too As always don’t hesitate to add your own personal touch to this recipe, whether you like it spicier or have like different cheeses, try things out because that’s what makes cooking so much fun! So grab a bag of your favorite herb, twist one up and lets get Cooking with a Buz!

TWISTONE

LET'S UGET PAND COOKING!

2 tbsp Canna Olive Oil

Salt and Black Pepper to taste

4 oz Cream Cheese, room temp

1 Cup Mushrooms, chopped fine

3 Cloves Garlic, minced

3 tbsp Fresh Thyme leaves, chopped fine

1 tsp Cayenne Pepper

½ tsp Nutmeg, for the fall vibe

2 tbsp Olive Oil

DIRECTIONS

Super easy recipe, first start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F and get a baking sheet ready and lined with parchment paper, not wax paper Next, you’ll need a large sauté pan with your oil in it and on medium to high heat

Once the oil is hot add your onions and cook for 3 5 minutes or until they are translucent, then add the broccoli and season with the salt and pepper, cook for about 3 minutes then add the mushrooms in and continue to cook for another 3 minutes or so

If you're looking for some darkening on the edge of the broccoli, then toss in the garlic and thyme with the cayenne pepper and cook for another minute or so, just until the garlic becomes fragrant Then remove from the heat and add the cream cheese and the Havarti, cheddar, and gouda cheeses, mixing in until the mixture is well blended

1 Cup of Smoked Gouda, shredded

1 Cup of Havarti cheese, chopped or shredded

1 Cup of a good Sharp Cheddar, shredded

2 boxes Frozen Puff Pastry Dough, thawed

2 Eggs, beaten

4 Now to the pastry sheets, on a floured surface gently stretch out the sheets of dough and cut each sheet into 9 squares Now I like to take the broccoli mix and split it evenly between two bowls so it's easier to work with Out of one bowl evenly divide the broccoli mix between the 9 pastry squares, make sure to leave room from the edge to seal them up

5 Once those 9 are filled evenly, take your egg wash and brush the edges of the dough, then place the top pieces of dough on and, using the back of a fork, press down and seal along the edges of the dough

6 Cut 3 slits into the top and then brush some egg wash over top to get a nice brown, and place onto the baking sheet and repeat the process for the next 9 Once all the pastries are ready, bake for about 20 minutes or until they are a nice golden brown

THE INDIGENOUS WOMEN OF CANNABIS

-Their Stories

This month for our Native November Issue, I would like to honor the women here in Oklahoma who are Indigenous and working in the cannabis space in a spectrum of ways. I found this subject matter & the conversations fascinating and would love to share by highlighting these individuals As it is incredibly important, I invite you to always support women in our cannabis community.

When doing research for this article I had a few women in mind to interview and I am incredibly grateful they chose to speak with us First on my list was Carmen White Eagle When spoke to Carmen White Eagle about being an Indigenous Woman here in Oklahoma, I asked her about her background She shared with us that she was a descended from the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma "on my Father, the late Paul Richardville’s side of the family and The Pawnee Nation on my mother, Vicki’s side. I have been active in Native Oklahoma through organizing and cultural protection for our 2spirit, femmes "

01. Carmen

When asked about her passion she explained that "with my organization NOISE (Northeastern Oklahoma Safety & Education) I believe the matriarchy is what we hold sacred for a reason and for that same reason I choose to protect and educate women ”

Carmen received her yoga teacher training education back in 2016 & entered the space with the specific idea of helping people through cannabis assisted Yoga “I do not require my yoga students to use cannabis but I offer a cannabis safe space during all of my yoga classes,” Carmen said

“I believe that cannabis and yoga go hand in hand as both are such powerful tools for healing and restoration. My people have always used plant medicine here on turtle Island (what is now referred to as the United States Mexico and Canada) truly since the beginning of time Through my use of cannabis and other natural plant medicines, I practice my ancestors‘ healing ways with plants to honor my own heritage and their lives and pursuits” Carmen continued to share We encourage anyone who is curious about cannabis yoga to connect with her and try out her classes

Next up is Penny Lane, who is a quarter Osage & quarter Kiowa Native American woman When we asked about her unique background she shared that she was the mother of a beautiful 10 year old Cheyenne, Arapaho, Osage, and Kiowa girl She went on to state "My mother was adopted from her birth mother, who was Osage What I do know of her she was a head cook that helped with many ceremonial events My father is half Kiowa, his mother is full Kiowa, and her great grandfather was chief of their tribe at one point. Slowly, but surely learning my history and traditions as I get older and wiser What I enjoy most is shawl dancing and attending powwows to hear, see, and learn about different tribes as they unite as one Keeping traditions and customs alive."

PennyWe asked Penny about her reason for getting involved with cannabis and she said “I am a patient I have always used cannabis as a healing method for physical and mental health. I have had two ACL surgeries, one on each of my legs & they artificial made my ACL with my hamstrings So personal favorite and top form of cannabis I use are topicals." When we asked her about her cannabis industry background she had this to say "I was a processor, in Corn, OK I enjoyed it very much and learned some very basic knowledge of decarbing and tincturing Taking notes on the dos and don'ts For sure getting compliance down, but as patient, consultant, or doctor you want and should know how medicine is made, tested, and packaged ” She went on to share that she had “later moved on building and investing in a dispensary in Hobart, OK I loved interacting with my patients Hearing their stories and what I could do to help meet their medical needs But I felt my heart was calling for more, I needed to get the education of this plant out there ”

“Then the opportunity that was chasing me on my journey this whole time opened back up, I was accepted to be a student at the Humboldt Cannabis Holistic Institute I finally found my place, something that no one can take away from me.” Penny added that “Education and knowledge of this plant is key and power. Connecting the right people to network with patients and their community can 180 this industry completely It's going to take working together and putting the price wars down Bringing the knowledge what we know about this plant together to be efficient and consistent” said

Next, we were able to interview Carrie Lehi for this piece She started by telling us that her Cheyenne name is Moeke’meo’na. It means Buffalo Calf Trail Woman. She was named after her aunt and they were named after one of the women who helped to kill Custer She is a proud Cheyenne woman whose family is from Hammon, Ok When we asked her to share her history with us she stated “I am from the family of Chief Redmoon, who was the Chief of our land in Hammon when the Cheyennes first came to Oklahoma in the late 1800s ” She went on to share that she is from the Orange family and the Hoffman family who is also from Hammon "Our land in Hammon is called the "Hevehetaneo'o" which means the Hair Rope people We made rope out of buffalo hair

We had the fiercest warriors they said, because of how much our women loved and cared for their warriors” she added. Her father was the last baby to be born and raised at camp This was before everyone moved to the town of Hammon She said, “his first language was Cheyenne and now he is only one of 9 fluent speakers left in the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe of Oklahoma " She went on to share that her life is devoted to the work she is doing with the elders "We have no fluent speakers currently under 40” she said.

We asked Carrie about her involvement in the cannabis industry and she shared that she is working as a grower at a new facility in Oklahoma City "I was able to get a job, helping get someone else started, with cannabis I am happy about this, focused on the plants and more specifically focused on the babies and mothers.

The pruning and caring for the plants is the part I really enjoy. I am focused on cloning and the baby phase of the process now Just being around the plants every day is healing” said Lehi

When we inquired about being a native indigenous woman in the cannabis industry she had this to say “Being an indigenous woman is a blessing to be wherever I go, because that is how I have chosen to believe it to be. Our reality is subjective and as Cheyenne people, we are taught to think in a good way about life, that is the alchemy of our thoughts That they can create reality I am so thankful for this perspective ”

When asked about how she would like to give back to her community she shared that her dream is to hear Cheyenne spoken fluently. She would like to hear it from the children "I will work my whole life to hopefully achieve this Currently, our fluent speakers are receiving no help or support We are at a standstill with our language They are all in their late 70’s and 80’s so every moment is precious We really need advocacy and financial support so that our language can go on” said Lehi If you can help Carrie and the people of the Cheyenne Nation &Tribes please reach out and connect with her.

Christian Stark is a Cherokee citizen that has lived and grown up in the Cherokee Nation She shared that as a child she wasn’t taught too much about her lineage or heritage and as an adult, her experiences within the tribe have not been the greatest "I have a hard time believing the leaders of our tribe have their citizen's interests in mind Money and power do strange things to people” says Stark.

When we asked her about her involvement in the cannabis industry she stated that "I am a patient advocate for caregivers of individuals with disabilities Striving to educate about plant medicine and safe alternatives to big pharma. I connect patients with safe educated doctors assisting them with their medical cannabis recommendations I also coach individuals about health, wellness, and how to incorporate plant medicine remedies for everyday living ”

When we asked Christian about being an indigenous woman in the cannabis industry and how that affects her she said “I don’t know that many people in the cannabis industry even know of my cultural status I don’t feel that I have ever been discriminated against within the community I do most of my business in NE Oklahoma where we see indigenous people wherever we go Many companies within the industry offer specials specifically for indigenous patients If anything I’ve felt accepted, encouraged and uplifted within the cannabis industry as an indigenous woman ”

Christian had this to say about giving back to her tribal community and she shared that “I would hope to bring education to my tribe in overall health wellness and alternative medicine Specifically those individuals in my tribe like my daughter Those who don’t have a voice of their own ” She went on to state that her tribe does not support medical cannabis currently "I would hope that its leaders would recognize the amount of education available to them and begin the steps forward to accept alternative medicine practices As we all know our ancestors first taught us to use the land for our healing” said Stark

To wrap up this month's article, even though this most certainly should be a series, we were able to interview Kelsey Cooper of Owasso, Oklahoma. She is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation (Bird Clan) and also of Choctaw Currently, she is a member of the cannabis community rather than the industry and is the founder/lead admin of Grow Scouts a FB group for women and non binary cannabis users She stated that “In Grow Scouts, we share and discuss current events, politics, equality, sexy things, memes, and everything else under the sun. I created the group because other cannabis groups lacked or even banned important political and social discussions that are necessary for this community Cannabis IS political in itself and those that use it, especially POC and LGBT+ patients, experience a greater impact from politics and current events ”

We asked Kelsey about her experience as an indigenous native woman and she shared many experiences “In the industry, it was complicated Especially as a native woman with brown skin Cannabis is not a traditional American indigenous medicine (although we generally respect all plant medicines) but many people here try to imply that it is or use native imagery in their branding Business owners that are citizens of legitimate tribes have every right (within reason) to promote their heritage or modern relationship to this plant in their branding” she said

She went on to say the constant microaggressions including calling meetings or smoke sessions powwows or even making her "sit through another spiel about how someone ' s great grandma was Cherokee but didn’t sign up on the roles.” She expressed how she felt "unsafe travelling around the state by myself to visit dispensaries which in rural areas are extremely sketchy and often uncomfortable, like the guy not much younger than my father making me do my sales pitch to him while he didn’t have a shirt on, or being in basically a shack or shop garage with one or two men by myself and nobody for miles ” She added that “this was extremely problematic because of the national emergency of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) native women are TEN times more likely to be a victim of these crimes, and murder is the 3rd leading cause of death for us ”

When we asked Kelsey what plans she has to give back to her community she stated that “I recently completed my Masters of Indigenous Peoples Law from the University of Oklahoma and am beginning a career in film so that I can tell our stories (instead of a study of genocide as I have been for the last decade) and contribute to native visibility in mainstream media " She went on to say “I have dedicated the last two years of my life to my community by speaking to city councils when they spoke out against honoring treaties and our reservations, protesting when I can, helping register native voters for elections, going to cultural/community events for fellowship, and give space for my mixed sisters who also try to navigate and integrate their indigenous and English worlds I do not have children yet but when I do, I plan to raise them in the Cherokee language immersion school at Tahlequah ” She also shared that she plans to raise them in the culture that she is learning and repatriating as well so that they can carry on the traditions and languages even further.

TRIBES LEFT BEHIND BY AMERICA'S MARIJUANA LAWS

America has moved quickly in legalizing marijuana with the majority of states having recreational or medical laws In recent news, President Biden announced: “a pardon of all prior federal offenses of simple possession of marijuana, urged all Governors to do the same with regard to state offenses, and asked the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Attorney General to initiate the administrative process to review expeditiously how marijuana is scheduled under federal law.” This is huge and beneficial for only 6500 people, and it’s not enough for everyone. Native Americans are not protected federally for state and territorial cannabis markets

Native American nations are kind of under a different set of rules than the rest of the United States According to the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), “Native peoples and governments have inherent rights and a political relationship with the U S government that does not derive from race or ethnicity Tribal members are citizens of three sovereigns: their tribe, the United States, and the state in which they reside They are also individuals in an international context with the rights afforded to any other individual ” Essentially, this is due to the Native tribes being considered federal land, it is unfortunate that that is the reason why they have been left behind by America’s marijuana laws This means that when it comes to cannabis laws in the United States and the Native tribes, even if the tribe is in a state with recreational and medical marijuana, it is still prohibited and illegal to grow or be in possession of marijuana

For many Native tribes, they are allowed to farm on their land, except for the ever prospering cannabis plant. This is leaving people in legal states far behind the rest of the population There are people losing thousands of dollars in opportunities, all due to this technicality. Cannabis has been a huge economic bonus for the majority of the United States

Colorado, Oklahoma, California, and Oregon have all made over well over $600 million each

In the third poorest state, New Mexico, the recent legalization of marijuana was set to rake in over $200 million in the first year This is amazing news, but according to Politico, not for the 300 person Picuris Pueblo tribe The average income in New Mexico is “$50,000, and 68 percent of the tribe’s households are below that line ” The Picuris Pueblo tribe mainly makes their money from farming and bison ranching, but with the added crop of cannabis, they would be in a much better financial place

Over the years, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) drug officers have come onto Picuris land and conducted raids In 2017, they found and pulled 30 medical cannabis plants according to the Picuris Governor Craig Quanchello “ At present day prices, that marijuana flower would be worth at least $100,000 Then in December 2021, three BIA officers entered Picuris land again according to a letter from the tribe detailing the raid pulling up nine medical plants grown at the home of a medical card owner,” stated Politico Quanchello recalled that this issue has him and his citizens feeling like they are “living with a rattlesnake,” just waiting for it to bite Unfortunately, in their latest attempt to allow marijuana to be grown on their land, they have fallen into the same hole between state and federal drug laws Although this situation is a specific one, many tribes across the United States can find similarities in it

The history that the United States government has with Native American tribes has not been pretty Unfortunately, many laws, not just cannabis laws, are in place that inhibits our nation’s tribes from economic prosperity Politico reminds us that these laws go all the way back “to the removal of tribes from some of the nation’s choicest pieces of land Many tribes are still denied the ability to rent or lease the land they now live on, and the federal government gave states the ability to siphon off a percentage of tribes’ tax revenue from any gaming businesses ” Even now, the state and territorial cannabis laws, that have been in Congress for years, have never included the Native tribes The exclusion has gone so far as to have “some tribes give up part of their sovereignty to states in order to protect their cannabis markets from federal intervention.” It is shocking to see the stark discriminatory actions that are still being made against Native Americans.

In 2014, there was a little bit of progress made due to the Obama administration’s Department of Justice introduction of the Cole Memo The Cole Memo “instructed U S attorneys to ignore state regulated cannabis programs The Department of the Interior matched it with the Wilkinson Memo in 2014, which extended the Cole protections to Native American tribes ” Thanks to these memo’s many tribes across the nation, including the Picuris tribe, had set up their cannabis programs This only lasted for about three years as the Trump administration repealed both memos in 2017

After the introduction and repeal of the memos, New Mexico legalized medical and recreational marijuana in 2021, but this unfortunately still left Native tribes behind In fact, in February of this year, there was another raid on the Picuris tribe by the BIA officers This time they only found seeds and still, people were at risk of arrest. Fortunately, shortly after the BIA raid, “Democratic Gov Michelle Lujan Grisham has worked to find a solution for tribes that want to enter the marijuana industry The state of New Mexico signed a 10 year agreement with the Picuris Pueblo that is intended to provide protection from federal intervention,” reported Politico Quanchello says that he and his people are still apprehensive of growing cannabis on their land According to Quanchello, “U S Attorney Fred Federici told him that a state compact would not protect him from federal interference ”

Ultimately, this is an example of the situation that many Native tribes have to go to just to be able to grow or possess cannabis safely It is also an obvious way for us to see just how discriminatory the United States' laws can be when it comes to Native tribes and their rights We as fellow citizens need to use our voices to uplift Native tribes so they have the same rights and regulations that we do These arbitrary rules are inhibiting people from living their lives to the fullest and increasing their financial status. Hopefully, as time passes, the United States government can get its act together and be able to move away from laws that are obviously making the lives of American citizens more difficult and more dangerous simply for having a product that most people can have without many issues.

It was a series of events; first, we were never out processed properly At the time, our country had nowhere near the understanding of veteran traumas as there is today Not that it still falls short of what's needed today But 40 plus years ago, there were literally no veteran support groups like there are now. Followed by a failed marriage, then immediately followed by a prison sentence. Those series of events literally pushed me to the outside of society Living off the grid just became a way of life; it's a survivalist mindset to live off grid I did it very well for many years and in the process saved myself with mother ganja, lifestyle changes, and learning to forgive myself

It was always my passion in my youth; art was my outlet and what I believed at the time was my calling art became the way to express myself It was, and still is, a great joy to me, and when someone grasps that and can use that to express themselves their way, there is tremendous satisfaction in being the one to open that up in someone else.

To answer that. No, it was a way for me to find happiness and peace, maybe stress release Making art and creating brings me happiness

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO YOUR BROTHER AND SISTERS FROM THE MILITARY WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS AND MORAL INJURY?

Make sure you know WHO and WHERE your cannabis flower comes from who is the farmer? is a great question to ask, and shop with a conscious purpose, do not just buy the cheapest or hype thing that's being pushed at that time Ask questions about who the farmer is, and about what growing practices were used It is your right to know who grew that flower you are about to consume.

WOULD YOU DESCRIBE WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON TODAY AND HOW IT WILL AFFECT FUTURE GENERATIONS?

Cannabis is my saving grace. Without the plant, I know I would be dead Only mother ganja's sweet love and divine grace are I hear today Like so many, who have post traumatic stress, it can be completely overwhelming and shut your body down as your mind takes over Cannabis has been and is the only thing I have found that helps me overcome my pts at that moment of attack It keeps my mind decluttered of all the negative bad thoughts I have when I am triggered and reduces the anxiety almost immediately with the correct genetics Unlike all the synthetic crap they tried to shove down my throat that made me a zombie, Cannabis gave me my life back I do not take synthetics, do not drink alcohol anymore, and do not use literally anything other than the sacred plant for my overall well being

It never really goes away; you have to learn to adapt, adjust, improvise and overcome and some things just never go away Even when you think you have dealt with it all, something invariably happens, and some past will raise its ugly head As one who was trained not to show or acknowledge pain or fear, this is always much easier to say than do It’s ok not to be okay Many wounds are invisible

Imprisoned Brittney Griner Turns 32 Behind Bars in Russia

The WNBA star — who was arrested at a Moscow airport on Tuesday, February 17th will be turning 32 years old.

The judge handed down a nine year prison sentence on Griner, who was charged with importing drugs into the country.
