Hello His Favor Readers As I sit here thinking what I would like to say to you as the founder of His Favor Magazine, I look out the window and see... rain clouds! I immediately stated "April showers, bring May flowers" This lead me to think how awesome God is. He is above our natural thinking even to the point that He can cause rain to produce such beautiful flowers! This season, I have learned that very lesson. I used to get so discouraged at the rain poured in my life. I found myself depressed and I felt disappointed. Now, that I am relying on God more and putting my faith in Him, I know that "my steps are ordered by Him and Him alone" He knows whats best for me. Even when it might look impossible, He has it all under control. As we embark on this new season, understand just like the weather, God will cause the the rain to fall. Things might not go with your plan, but He has purpose in His decision. Even if it looks weird to others or even ourselves, have faith in Your Lord and Savior! The rain is going to produce a beautiful flower... YOUR PURPOSE ~Sheneè Woodson, Founder/Editor In Chief

Favor's Travels

On March 24th, Photographer Robert Dulin and I walked into a room full of people ready to support 20 bold and powerful women for the Book Launch of

Set Apart & Chosen... God Uses Ordinary Women To Do Extraordinary Things.

The evening began with these brave women walking down the aisle as if they were on a New York Fashion Week Runway. Opening prayer was given by Dr. Jia Conway. I thought I was going to need an organ when she said "Amen." That woman can pray! Afterward, an inspirational word was spoken by Dr. Tasheka Green. By the time she was finished, I KNEW that I was indeed Set Apart & Chosen for such a time as this. Kimmoly LaBoo (Founder, LaBoo Publishing) the one responsible for getting this anthology together, allowed each woman a chance to share why they chose to be apart of this book. Even though there were many, the common reason I noticed was the fact that Kimmoly LaBoo was involved. That says a whole lot about who this woman is and the trust and respect she has gained throughout the years. As I walked around the room, the love and support were evident as family and friends stood in each co-author's line getting their copy signed. I sat down with a few of the supporters and one person stated " I had to come! Although I had other plans, I wanted to ensure I came to get my copy signed. I can't wait to read these women's stories." After speaking with family friends, it was now my time to go around the room and speak to these dynamic women "My chapter is called When God Presses Pause. After reading my chapter, I want people to know that even when God presses pause, He will press start again" ~Pam Mintz "I was encouraged to write. There were things in my life I didn't think I could talk about. But once I started writing, I couldn't stop!" ~LaVerne Day At first, I thought I did not have a story to tell. Kimmoly told me to think of a time where God took you from to where He took you to. I said, I definitely have that story!" ~Tammy Wylie As an engineer,, I've always been a woman operating in a man's world. I want my nieces and even nephews to know that you can be in a room and still hold your own and stand out" ~Moana McAdams "I'm a speaker and a trainer. This anthology gave me a purpose to write about it. People always tell me to write a book. However, I did not want to write a book for the sake of writing a book. It had to be a purpose!" ~Kelly Bouchard

Events Attended By The His Favor Team

After receiving an email stating that His Favor Magazine was approved to cover the 2019 Stellar Music Awards, the team was ecstatic. However, as the editor, I knew I had to ask someone else to go in my place due to other obligations.

As I expressed this to the team, they didn't want to hear it! They insisted that I go and let God handle the rest. Before I knew it, that is exactly what He did. I packed my bags and Thursday, March 28th, Field Correspondent, Kyonna Brown and I was on our way to Las Vegas to not only attend but to represent His Favor Magazine on the Red Carpet and the media room.

On March 29th, the day of the show, I was happy to see so many people in media that I knew. Some I knew via social media, so it was great to see them in person. As we found our spot on the red carpet, Donald Jackson walked right in front of us! More media personality filled the grounds then it was time for action.

Gospel Artists, Managers, Record Executives, you name it, began to grace the carpet. Each person stopped to greet the media and of course be interviewed. His Favor's first interview was with Travis Malloy "This is an awesome experience. God has fulfilled every promise! His word does not come back void!" After interviewing Travis Malloy, we were able to talk to several others including, Tyler Little, Jekalyn Carr, The Walls Group, Lonnie Hunter and so many more.

Once we finished experiencing the red carpet, we headed to one of the media rooms. Food was provided which was great because we were hungry! Although we had access to the media room, Kyonna also wanted to view the awards. I bought tickets already so we made our way to the auditorium.

Hezekiah Walker opened the show with a medley of his most popular hits. Right after, Kirk Franklin pumped the crowd up as he read his lines. Artist after artists ushered in the presence of God in their own unique way with a special tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. We also shared a few laughs as comedian Akintunde kept the flow of the show in between sets.

We then decided to go back into the media room to interview some of the show's nominees and winners. Little did we know we would also get a few songs from some of the artists including Shelby 5. Shirley Ceasar, Anthony Brown, Regina Bell, and so many others answered each media's questions with integrity and a smile.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards has been in existence for over 30 years. Even tho I have been to the show before, being able to go as media was a true honor and blessing. I learned so much more about the industry. I even learned more about myself and as the visionary of this publication. I can't wait until next year!

J i m m y R u s s e l l "It's Because Of Christ"

Why do you think your music has touched both young and old? Well when Jesus put it in my spirit to do our 1st recording he guided me to the songs that would reach the people. My main concern was the younger generation but as I have come to find they love a good church stomping song as much as their parents and grandparents. It's been very encouraging when all types of people come and say I still have you CD in my Playlist.

Is it important to stay consistent when it comes to the way you present yourself to your fans? Yes, in this ever changing industry Jimmy Russell & BOC continue to stay the some but yet be relevant in our ministering in song At this moment, what would you like to see as far as "change" when it comes to the local church? To support more local Gospel Indie artist by way of having them in concert, or at conferences, to support the local artist in purchasing their product and not just looking at it like you are viewing fruit in the supermarket. (smiling) I've seen it all and still they won't purchase the CD. I've even ask if people can get two CD not because I want that extra money but to bless someone who may not be able to afford to get the CD. Many people leave Gospel because as a artist we are not treated with love and respect from the church world.

What is NEXT for you and the group? Well, I am excited we are coming close to releasing our single this Jan-February 2019 and we have a little traveling to do to prompt our new music. We will be at GMWA National Convention will be in DC in 2019 and a few other places have been asking that we come to minister their music conferences. I am really excited about releasing this new music to the masses. I believe again we have tapped on to some music that will help someone of any age and race. It's still Because Of Christ "This is where you fill in the blank of the Jesus Christ is to you" you know.

At Faith United Ministries, we consider ourselves more of ministry than church. There is such a stigma when you hear the word church"

People tend to think of religion, rules, regulations but nothing about a relationship. Historically the church had been the foundation of color. Unfortunately, with so many scandals with pastors, money being disappropriated, pedophilia amongst children and more, the church kinda lost a lot of its credibility. As a result, people do not see the church as valuable as it once was. I still agree with the institution even if I do not agree with the picture of how it's being promoted. I say that we are more of a ministry because we are heavy in outreach. We are constantly feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, going to shelters and out to the highways and byways which is what the Lord commanded us to do. So maybe as a whole, the institution of the church is not doing what it could be doing like getting involved and being activists. However, in our sector, I believe we are making greater strides doing what we are supposed to be doing as the Lord commanded. I know a lot of ministries that are doing great things yet you never hear about them. You only hear about the pastor that is on their fifth wife or asking the congregation to buy them a jet. It seems to always be something to discredit the church. When it comes to me as a man, a father and even a pastor, I know my orchestrated by God. Just recently, I found out that I was a twin. When my mom was pregnant with us, she was in an abusive relationship. One day she was thrown down the steps. This resulted in the death of my twin yet I lived. Even tho there were other issues along the way, I know God had a plan for my life. My mother even knew from singing "It's A Highway To Heaven" while I experienced a fever which cause me to hallucinate. At the very end, I began to sing with her. She stated from that point she knew I was going to do something for the Lord.

"Real ministries don't take pictures of what they do constantly... they just do!"

A master teacher, Dr. Sturdivant has “studied to show himself approved to God” (II Timothy 2:15) and made a mark within the theological studies community. He has an earned undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Ministry. St. Thomas Christian College (Jacksonville, FL) conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree upon him and CoPastor P.D. Sturdivant during the Silver Anniversary of Faith United Ministries and Dr. Sturdivant’s 30th preaching anniversary. In addition due to his distinguished service to the Kingdom of God, a second Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree was bestowed upon Dr. J.E. Sturdivant in May 2013 by his alma mater, Richmond Virginia Seminary.

Tell us, when did you know that you were called to not only minister in song but as a duo? We have been singing together our entire lives. However, in May of 2018 is when it all clicked when we realized, we want to write songs with real meaning and substance, for a bigger purpose. We want to write about the hard stuff, the tough times, and the struggles that so many of us face daily. We also want to share the praise reports on how, with God's Grace, we get through it all. There's something about just speaking from the heart about life's raw truths that enables you to connect on a deeper level with your audience. We both have had our separate careers as artists however we believe one of the reasons God chose us as brother & sister is to sing for Him and spread the message of His love through "Defining Grace." Why is it important to share your testimony to others? It's important for us to share our testimony with others because we believe that's what we are called to do, as Christians. Music is the universal language. It's also therapeutic for us to be able to speak through our music. It is almost like a personal journal of God's grace. We know others will relate to our stories and just maybe, with us sharing how God has never left our side, that this will help to lead others to be saved. We will continue to go through trials but we remember that it is God's Word that He will never leave us or forsake us. How do people learn of God’s Grace, mercy, forgiveness and love? It is done by people sharing their stories about what God has done for them throughout their lives. The best way to share what God has done for us is through our songs.

16

Are there any other ventures you would like to pursue (separate and collectively) in the near future? DG: We have so many dreams and goals for Defining Grace. Right now we are in the studio writing and recording. In the

future, our goal is to release a full album and tour to Churches and Conferences on a national and international level. We also are working on a philanthropy division for Defining Grace. We want to be able to give back to a special cause while spreading God's love. LISA: My husband and I are anxious to start a family. We have been struggling with infertility and my endometriosis for

many years now. As I write this, I am recovering from a surgery that took place 2 days ago for my endometriosis. We haven't shared this struggle of ours with our fans yet, however, the songwriting has begun. There are so many women out there that share these same issues I want to let them know, they are not alone. The only thing that gets us through this is our Faith and trusting in His plan for us. BRIAN: My goal is to be able to create a steady income as a songwriter, producer & co-writer so I can travel the world with my wife spreading God's love & light in dark places giving my support to ministries that help starving children.

Briefly share with us a time the power of God manifested during one of your services that even today, still has you in awe? Leading praise & worship is one of the most powerful and humbling experiences. The beauty in bringing people into Gods' presence, just pausing and reverencing God, getting caught up in the moment and just waiting on the Holy Spirit to move on the hearts of people is breathtaking. Simply put, we are just being who God has created us to be, worshipers. To slowly worship Him in Spirit and in truth lingering with the almighty God & lifting our voices unto him in one accord is supernatural. This will always leave us in awe. FAVOR! Favor to us means God's Grace. God seeks out those who love and have Faith in Him. He wants to Bless us abundantly. He wants to guide us and protect us. He wants to teach us. Through our trials and tribulations, we will see His "Favor" or blessings when we give it all to Him and acknowledge He is King, Creator of the Heavens and Earth, the One who created us. When His Grace and Mercy is upon you, then you have stepped into God's perfect will for your life, He continues to change us from Glory to Glory For His Purpose.

God Is Always Speaking

Casey J

HFM: Thank you for taking the time to speak to our readers. First of all, how did it feel to release another awesome project? I think the greatest joy I have found with releasing The Gathering is the joy of knowing that God can trust me. Being able to bear witness of the birth of The Gathering from mere conception to a tangible product has been one of the highlights of my life. It has a firmed for me that there is fruit in being obedient and that if you choose to listen, God is ALWAYS speaking. HFM: With all that is going on in the world right now, do you think "the church" could do more OR do you think it has already done enough in order to evoke change? ... why? I assume when you are talking about the “church” you are referencing our local assemblies. Which sort of brings me to what I believe must change. Our buildings are not churches. They are buildings- with steeples, pews, chairs, and altars. The CHURCH simply gathers in these buildings. WE are the church. I think the deeper the understanding of that truth rests in our hearts, the more e fective we will be become as catalysts of change. HFM: How has social media played a role in connecting to your audience? Whew! If social media and I were on Facebook, our relationship status would say “It’s Complicated.” I vacillate between whether or not social media is an amazing evangelical tool or dangerous distraction from our being available to do the work of the Lord. I think the reality is that it can be both. Social media, in and of itself, is benign.

So to answer your question, I’m very grateful and humbled that I’ve been able to share my music and message with those around the world who I may never have the opportunity to see in person. However, I o ten take social media ‘breaks’ to make sure that a platform that was is meant to be a connector hasn’t become a controller. HFM: In your own words, what is "Worship?" I think the most simplistic answer is that worship is our internal list of priorities. Of what is most important to us, whatever is at the top becomes the object of our a fection and thus the recipient of our worship. Remember worship is something we do automatically. It is engrained in our spiritual and physical DNA. So the question will never be IF we worship, it is simply WHAT are we worshiping? HFM: Why do you feel your music has touched so many races and nationalities? I have no idea! HA! No really. I don’t. I can only be responsible for my obedience to the call God has on my life. How He chooses to utilize my obedience isn’t a testament to my skillset, but more a testament of His immense sovereignty. So I’m just as shocked as you guys are! LOL HFM: Are there any other "ventures" outside of your ministry that you would like to achieve? I think overall I have had two consistent prayers concerning my platform. The first being that healing follow me wherever I go. The second being that God be able to trust me in non faith based spaces to bring His name honor and glory. Slowly I am realizing that both of those prayers are coming to fruition- some of them even simultaneously. I am so humbled that I am able to partner with amazing non profits, wellness organizations, and educational initiatives to continue to spread God’s goodness.

Generational Barriers When we write and record music, it is our goal to create songs that are applicable to every season a person may go through. No matter what age you are, you can relate to trials and tribulations, and you can relate to great days and blessings. Our music seeks to bring you through the trial and help you praise while in the blessing and every person, no matter the age, can relate to that. Also, when we minister live we often like to throw in a classic at the end of a new song. For example whenever we sing our song "Deep Wells" we often times go into "Yes Lord" which a lot of older saints would know. Social Media Consistency Yes. We live in an age where people want more than just a song. They want to see your life and how you live it. They want to know that you practice what you preach. Social Media definitely has its down side in that you are always on display for the world but that can also be a good thing too. It can serve as accountability to ensure that you are living what you sing about. The Near Future

When two of Bermuda's most sought after worship leaders combine

www.lastcallworship.com

In one year we hope to be traveling worldwide; leading people and the nations into the presence of God. We also hope to have new music out. Gain Via Ministry

The only thing we want to gain from any platform is more exposure for Jesus!! That is the benefit. More people get to encounter him. That has and always will be our motive for expanding our ministry. Meaning Of Worship Worship is the most intimate form of communication from us to God. It isn't boxed in to music alone. It can be simply laying at his feet pouring out your best on him as Mary did. Everyone can praise God, but to truly worship Him, you have to know Him.

Artist Spotlight

With all that you do, how do you find time to spend with family?..... To have "quiet time" with God? Well I try to plan 2 days with my wife a week no matter what is going on. We both take care of our Mothers. We also try to see our Children and Grandchildren that are near once a week if possible. On another note, I have to make time for God. Preaching God's word with power is not automatic. I teach and evangelize and have to be well prepared to say what God wants me to say at the appointed time. I even want to ensure that I am singing the right song at the right time because it can usher in a move of God to save, heal and bring deliverance. Tell us what makes your "preaching delivery"standout from others with similar backgrounds? I pray and ask God to help me to preach with conviction, relevance and make His word Life Applicable for the people in which I am blessed to minister. I'm overjoyed to be Born again. How do you want people to feel when they are finished listening to your work? I really want the listeners to look past me and persuade them to get closer to God. He has had perfect attendance throughout my life... He's Faithful. Are there any other ventures you would like to pursue in the near future? I will soon have a book in pamphlet form to reach out to the unsaved and the backsliders that was derived from my article in Running On Magazine entitled, "Take This And You Won't Feel A Thing." I would also like to help up and coming artists and preachers to trust Jesus Christ with the gift that he gave you and not yourself.

The Preacher, The Singer and The Songwriter, Minister R.L.Taylor, is a Licensed and Ordained Preacher of the Gospel. He is an Alumni of Southern Bible Institute and Seminary in Dallas, Texas where he studied Theology and Spiritual Life. He is also a National Recording Artist registered with ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) releasing three projects to his credits. He founded the Quartet group, The Sons of The Father of Arlington, Texas in 1999 who had 4 nominations and won the Rhythm of Gospel Awards Male Quartet Group for 2016 in Memphis, Tennessee June 25, 2016. The Sons of The Father of Arlington, Texas are also up for awards for VOGMA and GCMA for 2019. Our Brother is also an Adult Christian Education Instructor who received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities in 2008. He loves his wife, four children, and five grandchildren. However, his testimony is that nothing in life would matter if He didn't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He states, "God is everything, I mean everything to me." "All that I have, I am or ever hope to be, I give all the Glory to God in the name of Jesus Christ.

HFM: Thank you for taking the time to speak to our readers. First of all, how did it feel to release another awesome project? BW: I love creating, experimenting with different sounds and even genres. I’ve always had a very wide variety of influences growing up so you can really hear that come out in my music especially with this new single “Coming back” it’s has a throw back 90’s vibe and of course I had to throw in some Hip-Hop with featuring my great friend Pablo Villatoro. HFM: You are officially a multi-award winning & nominated artist. How do you remain humble when it can be easy to start being "haughty"?

BW: It’s nice to know and feel like the work you put out gets recognized. Never did I ever think that any of my songs would ever been chart topping songs or get an award. It’s only by the grace and mercy of God that I get to do what I love for a living. Having family, my friends, and my team really keep my humbled and focused. I’m not the type of person to let the accolades or accomplishments get to my head because I know I wouldn’t even be doing this if it wasn’t for God opening the doors and just bleessing my “yes” I’m just a pen to a piece of paper in the hand of God and that’s how these songs get written HFM: How has social media played a role in connecting to your audience?

BW: Social plays a huge role in connecting me to my fans, supporters, and even media/radio station outlets as well! I love chatting and meeting new people and really seeing the faces that support my music and what I do. HFM: In your own words, what is "Worship?"

BW: Worship is a relationship. It’s a connection with God our father, our creator. Being a pastor’s kid and growing up in church really shaped and molded me as a worshipper before I became an artist or even a worship leader. I learned how to give God praise and Glory for everything HE has done for me and I learned how to worship HIM for WHO He is. Worship is my passion, music is my job! HFM: Why do you feel your music has touched so many races and nationalities?

BW: I think it really goes back to what I grew up on, I grew up listening to gospel music: Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurkin, blues music, and of course worship music. But I’m a student of music and styles, genres and that has really bridge a connectional gap between racial backgrounds or even Denominational back grounds even going further than that bridging the gap between mainstream and Christian music with my sound. I always do music is just the vehicle to get the message of Jesus to the hearts of the people listening.

Hello His Favor Magazine. I am Qiana Cressman, founder of Emerge Woman Magazine. I'm particularly excited about the warmer weather and Spring season upon us. I always feel like as the seasons change, there's always opportunity and shift for us to SPRING into a new way of thinking, aligning with our purpose or whatever next steps God may be calling us to take. I fully realized that I was called to empower women in 2011 after a conversation with two women in my life who are close to me. I'd been empowering women and girls behind the scenes for more than two decades (via ministry, speaking, writing, mentoring and advising them spiritually and in life), but I became intentional with that calling to empower women in 2011. With Emerge's platform, we are able to use our various media outlets to inspire women and girls to be who God created them to be and manifest their highest potential in every area of life. We have the magazine, podcasts, blogs, events and strategic partnerships that align with our mission. We also maximize the power of connecting with women on social media. Although there are other magazines, Emerge been able to stay relevant and ensure its longevity. Our purpose from the beginning was to create timeless,

transformative content that inspires women to be all they are created to be. Our mission is timeless, so there is an ease that comes in staying relevant. I keep it no secret that I am a Christian, Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life and I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. God entrusted me with this vision and I stay in tune with Him. He is truly the Chief Visionary. He gives me divine strategy, business savvy and sensitivity to stay relevant to the hearts of the women we serve. I'm LOVER of words to my core! And I since I was a little girl, I've always been fascinated with the human story and journey, and coupled with a passion for connecting people, I realized that when God prompted me to create and launch Emerge Woman Magazine, it was in alignment with my wiring and purpose from childhood. I was born to do this. And if any publication is going to stay relevant, the purpose and intention for it has to stay clear to navigate the trends, and changes that come with time. Outside of Emerge, there are other "ventures that I would like to achieve! My media coaching practice is growing. I coach individuals and teams how to make successful media appearances and deliver key messages effectively. Media appearances include TV, radio, print and web. I have 22 years national media experience and have performed over 2,500 presentations, workshops, keynotes and media interviews combined. My clients include: entrepreneurs, executives, business owners, professionals, ministry/clergy leaders, athletes, creatives, coaches, consultants, strategists and more. Anyone desiring or interested in my consulting services as they prepare to have a successful media appearance, can contact me 25 for more info at info@emergewomanmagazine.com.

Hello. My name is Gina Pazzaglia. I am a Christian Therapist and I thank you for allowing me this opportunity to reach all of the His Favor readers!

I have just finished doing quite a few radio interviews and I am excited. I am also launching a show called "Rewrite Your Script" This is important because in life, we have to always be ready to take on life patterns that we have. At times, these life patterns might have worked but now they no longer work for you. That is when you have to take that life pattern and rewrite! Personally, I realized I needed to rewrite mine when I met with a person that help me realize it! I kept colliding with some history issues. Just like in a book, one may carry some of the characters forward but leave others in the first story. I even did it myself when I wrote my 2 books. We have to do this is life... period! If we want to see the story change, we have to change the story.

When I was a little kid at the age of 8, I had 11 year olds asking my opinion on certain things. It dawned on me that I constantly had people asking me for advise. So from that time and as I got older, I figured I had some type of knowledge that people wanted. Then as a teenager and later having children at a young age, I began working with family systems. Even in the Hispanic population, I would help deliver babies in their home and taught childbirth education. This opened my eyes even more to the fact that I had a gift to communicate, enlighten and help people change. After going to Oral Roberts University, my goal was to be a missionary and a midwife. In my spirit, I kept hearing something say "change your major." I then took a survey and it showed that I scored very high in social work. That is how I began my studies in that field.

I eventually got masters and license in social work then later, my PhD in Philosophy of Psychology in Health and Behavioral Medicine. I now do a lot of work when it pertains to people's body, mind, soul and spirit. I came from a family of domestic violence, a severely mentally ill mother that was mentally ill before I was ever born. Matter of fact, when I was young, I was constantly with people of the church and I did not know what mental illness was. I thought she had demons. I would say scriptures by her bedroom door at night so that she would be delivered. It did not help at all! She would wake up in the morning stating that little elves were walking by her bedroom door at night... talking! It wasn't until I stepped out of the Assemblies of God (because they were really rigid at that time) and starting going to a Baptist counseling center that I was introduced to mental illness. My first husband was bipolar and self-medicated which lead to additions. I actually thought he had demons too. He is deceased now, but he would have 6 months straight where he would be heavily involved in church. However, he would have 6 terrible months when he would go downhill. I later learn that it was a bipolar illness. As a therapist, I feel my methods are different because I actually have the experience of being with people who had a mental illness. I have been ordained 3 times as well in the midst of it all. I understand the physiology, neurology and I also understand the Word of God! I think that is what makes it an unique combination. I can go to any venue. I can use my faith in God, Godly principles and even the scientific and physical education I have been blessed to receive and understand. My goal is for people to get healed! Not keep coming back so that I can make money. I am not one of those therapist that just sits and listens. I want to identify what the problem areas are, look at their history and help them learn God-Parenting & Self-Parenting. The Bible says "Except you be as a little child, you will not enter into the kingdom." The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy. It's not obtained in our adult self, but in our child self. There are many instances where people as a child were brought into a life they did not want, desire or deserved. Now, as adults, they are colliding with it. I like to go back to that place, rewrite it, then bring it forward to help change their present and their future. I do encounter plenty of people that feel that they do not need therapy. A lot of time if might even be court ordered. They automatically come to me with a "jumping through hoops" mentality. When helps to gain the trust of most people is to have them fill out paperwork ahead of time such as a psycho-social assessment. It allows them to invest in themselves before they even see me. They already know that I know some things about them which helps with the trust building. I always tell people I am not apart of the system, but to help and assist with learning more, gaining tools and understanding one's self better. I like to say once we get over that hump, their souls trust me. It's a spiritual phenomena. It's my gift from God. It's my part in helping to change the world!

I knew that I wanted to share my story, but I thought it would come from me going State to State speaking to parents and then someone advise me to also put into a book. On many occasions, parents of children who want to get into the industry often times ask me "what did I do to get my child on television" or "how did I manage working, taking care of another child who does not have ADHD and managing my son's career all at the same time. After praying and asking God for wisdom, is when I decided to put it all in a book. In my book, Before Empire Raising Bryshere "Yazzthegreatest" Gray, I speak about being a survivor of Domestic Violence. I also share about my life as a single mom raising a child with ADHD and educating myself on his disorder as well as educating everyone around him (i.e.. coaches, teachers, NTA's Family). I would go into IEP meetings with a folder for everyone in the room! In that folder, it would have the definition of what ADHD meant, what medications he was taking, what side affects it caused, what to expect, what my expectations were.

Furthermore, I speak about how I became the artist developer for my son into the entertainer that he is today and how I managed his career. I speak about being a women in this industry but keeping my Morals, Integrity and Character while getting my son to the level he is now. Overall, my book is unique because IT IS MY TRUTH AND JOURNEY as a single mother. Although some books have some of the same content, my story is my story and what is in this book comes from my gut. The challenges that I've experience when dealing with my son's ADHD may have been slightly different because every child with ADHD do not experience the same challenges.

After reading Before Empire Raising Bryshere "Yazzthegreatest " Gray, I would like the readers to feel educated on ADHD, Empowered, Inspired and Encouraged. Moreover, I would like them to understand that our children need us and our children are only going to be as successful. We must educate ourselves to be better advocates for them rather it's career driven or medical driven. LEAN ON YOUR FAITH, Whatever your faith that is! My ultimate goal is to empower parents and guardians to be champions in the lives, health and careers of their children by providing resources and creating community networks , education and encouragement. Currently, I am pursuing getting my online Boutique, Cozi Essentials and Ms Berry Enterprise and turning them into a huge Empire! I would like Ms. Berry Cares Foundation to be a place that parents would feel confident in knowing that when they seek out my foundation, they would get the information that they need to become better advocates for their children. I would also like Before Empire to be a resource for parents. I even started a community for Mom's Who R.O.C.(Raising Our Children) on Instagram and Facebook. The advice I usually give to parents is to please listen to their children. Find out their career choice and help them nurture it. Educate yourself and your child on what ever they are trying to do. Stick by them because our children need us. We have to be better advocates for our children. They only way to be better advocates is through educating our selves. You're not going to always have someone to show you how to do something. Be your own cheer leader. Learn how to inspire and encourage yourselves! If you learn it then they can learn that trait from you. Do not put your children in a box. They can do multiple careers, they just have to educate themselves on their choices. Stay in your Faith!

Do you ever walk into a closet full of clothes and think I have nothing to wear! Have you ever walked into a room and realized there are tons of things that you don’t need? I know I have. Well, spring is the time to get a fresh update on your life! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Angela. Hi guys! I am a professional decorator and interior stylist. I wanted to give you some pro tips for living “with purpose” in your space this spring. Step one- Declutter and Organize

Let’s be real. Rooms are created for living life in. Sometimes life gets busy ‘aka’ messy. In our house there is a six month rule. If you don’t wear it or use it for six months it’s gone. (The only exceptions in the closet are dress up clothes and winter jackets. The

Angela is a servant after God’s own heart. Her aim is to not only change a room but to bring love and light into the atmosphe re of each project.

only exception in the kitchen is fine china or christmas dishes. Besides that, the rule stands.) Make piles and go from there. Keep, sell, donate or trash. Try to only live with things you love. For easy organizing I keep baskets and bins around each room for items like rogue hair ties, pens, toys and spare socks. Each child checks the basket for their items and takes them away when they leave the room. Step two- Make It Functional

There is nothing worse than to walk into a room and have no idea what it’s used for. Think of it this way, how confusing would it be to have a sofa in your kitchen? Items should only be kept in the space they are used in. Rooms with function also tend to get used on a more regular basis. If you decide to utilize part of your bedroom as a study then don’t store your reference books or lamp in another area where you have to leave to get them. Convenience is the key when it comes to functionality.

Step three- Refresh and Decorate

A good deep clean always makes a room feel brighter and more new. Go through your space and make a list of items you got rid of but you know need to be replaced. Maybe you threw out an old chair that was broken but was useful as extra seating. Begin listing products and be mindful of your other decor when shopping. Sometimes a fresh coat of paint on the walls and trim is just what the doctor ordered! Don’t be afraid to switch things up and change furniture layouts for a more cohesive flow. Need Extra Help?

Have you ever thought about hiring a professional but don’t know where to start? When considering your home or business, I start from scratch. After following all of the rules from above, I handcraft a design to match your lifestyle, budget and personal style. I select products, accessories, furnishings and even paint colors. The photos here are of an office space I recently designed for a male client. He wanted a modern industrial office to keep with the theme of his new real estate firm. Now he can serve his clients in a room they feel calm and comfortable in. What does your dream space look like? Let’s get started with your spring update now.

Revelation 12

The whole Bible hinges on Revelation 12! Its lessons hold “Big Fundamentals” that unlock every book in The Bible. Revelation 12 reveals “The War in Heaven” between Michael and his angels against the devil and his angels. It’s a war that has been won by Jesus Christ, but in part continues today, and in the future comes to end as recorded in the Book of Revelation. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:7-3 When the “eyes of our understanding” become enlightened by this knowledge, then a proper spiritual growth process can begin. Growing from the milk of Gods’ Word to its meat: growing from being babes in Christ to full age. Spiritual discernment and discerning of spirits become a way of life, separating good from evil, light from darkness, the power of God from the power of the devil. The Bible opens like never before, including a deeper understanding of God’s purposes in Jesus Christ. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. I John 3:8 Revelation 12 begins by revealing the celestial announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ (God’s Word written in the stars – the Mazzaroth – the twelve signs of the Zodiac), pin pointing his exact date of birth: September 11, 3 B.C.. Christs exact birth date gives Gods’ emphasis to the subject matter and context of “The War in Heaven”; that indeed Christ would be born into the world and there was nothing that the devil could do to stop it.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman (Virgo) clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:1-4 The devil understood God’s purposes in Christ written in the stars, in the Mazzaroth, (The Twelve Signs of the Zodiac). This knowledge and the reading of the Mazzaroth was revealed to Adam and Eve and was passed down verbally to generations until becoming “It is written.” Beginning with Virgo and ending at Leo, is how the story of Christ is read in the stars, which later became memorialized by Joseph in the building of the Sphinx – the head of a women (Virgo) and body of the lion (Leo). This is why the devil did everything in his power to stop Christs’ first coming, sending the flood! And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Revelation 12: 15,16 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17 All those who keep the commandments of God, now and in the future times of the Book of Revelation will suffer persecution until this war ends in full. Before this war, the devil was known as Lucifer and served God before his fall (Isaiah 14). By reason of his own brightness his wisdom became corrupted (Ezekiel 28). However, even though the devil is on this earth having great wrath against the believers; The Bible tells us, “greater is he that is in us”, giving us the victory! Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I John 4:4 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Have you ever passed by a stranger and judged them by their appearance? Have you ever walked in a room and immediately gravitated to people by the image they presented? If you answered yes to these questions, please know you are not the only one. Which solicits an even bigger question. Why do we feel that we have the right to judge based upon the appearance of individuals? Well beautiful people, the short answer is that we don’t. It is often said that, we see people the way we perceive ourselves, which brings me to my point of unmasking self-image. (I’m sure you’re saying it took her long enough.)

Let’s talk about self-image for a second. One of the definitions you will find for self-image is "the idea, conception or mental image one has of oneself.” When you got up this morning what was your first thought? When you look in the mirror what do you really see? When you laid down last night what did your dreams consist of? Take a minute to think about it, as these things are contributing factors of our choices and images of self. Our thoughts will carry a negative or positive self-image. To which, if

we spend too much time judging others through our misguided perceptions we will have wasted valuable time, while there are hundreds of people waiting on you to make a major impact on their lives today. Yes, hundreds, because you are that great, impactful and have the influence to change a life that can change the lives of other. That’s the effect of positive thinking and selfimage.

Today is your day, walk in your freedom and love the beauty of your beast. Let your love cross every barrier. Choose to look in the mirror and unmask everything that has kept you stuck for years. When you truly look in the mirror at the eyes of the Father who loves us all, His image is what counts. When we lose our self-image in God’s image then the true I AM can truly speak to us. The lyrics from the Winans songs says, “love has no color you are my brother, love shows no evil to no people” In Genesis 1:27 ASV, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” The moment you stop trying to recreate and just be what you were born to be, peace will come. So, choose to love first and I guarantee your perception on life will change everything. Love will unravel the beauty of the beast, reach out beyond the corridors of life and most of all untangle the webs of prejudices that had you in bondage. You have the opportunity to make a positive impact with the image you see. So, today I challenge you to change how you see the image in the mirror. Your reflection will not be like mine and that’s ok, as long as we don’t project our differences on others while we are still in discovery of our flaws. I am grateful for the skin that I’m in, which has caused me to love the beauty of the beast and when I look in the mirror today, I see more of Him! I am striving more to be like my Father. Remember, His Image is what matters!!!

I ‘M A Grateful Encourager

Engaging, Insightful, Relatable, Spontaneous Nurturing What makes my novel unique from others in its genre is that it has elements that represent our true essence regarding our humanity. I have created a story that encompasses everything that makes our society beautiful so that I can spread “LOVE” into our current atmosphere of discord we are now experiencing in our society. “Color of Love” is an infusion of God, love, music, and harmony. Love and music transcend barriers and are limitless in power. I would like to capture a reader’s imagination and have them feel like they become a part of the story. I want the reader to be able to relate, feel secure and transcend their reality as they read the novel. The reader's mind will be released, their heart massaged, and their Spirit will overflow.

Born in Lawton, Oklahoma as a child of military parents, he grew up with a diversity that has shaped his writing style as well as cultivated his love of literature. A ter attending the University of Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and a Master of Public Administration degree, he moved to Texas to pursue a career with a government agency.

Becoming an author has always been a dream of mine since I was a child. I truly believe I was born to do this. Writing gives life to my most inner thoughts and allows my imagination to manifest itself into reality. It is my true passion. To me, writing is like "breathing”

I need it to survive in this life. 40

If God wills it, I will think about exploring other ventures. However, as of now, I truly feel as if I am doing exactly what I was born to do. Writing is my purpose and it allows me to give back to humanity the Blessings that have been bestowed upon myself.

Dr. Robert Cargill From early on in my grad school program, I found myself being invited to documentaries, to host television and radio interviews and more. At UCLA (Los Angeles, CA) people would tell me that I was a great interviewer and lecturer. Being able to explain biblical academic concepts to those that are not trained in Hebrew, Greek, Arabic etc. helped to open many doors for me.

I truly feel my upbringing had something to do with it. Every time I came home from pursuing my Master of Divinity, my grandmother would ask me "What are you doing?" or "Explain to me what you just said" I would also attend church on Sunday morning and asked to share something that I learned before the sermon. So I actually had "practice" explaining Biblical concepts.

One day, someone saw me give an interview. They invited me to do another one, then another one and the ball got rolling. So as long as I keep getting invited, I will keep at it. When one door opens, other will open as well.

When Jesus: His Life (docu-series appearing on HBO), I already worked with the production company that produced the series on an earlier project. They liked me in that series, so they invited me back to be apart of this. I understand and I teach at the University of Iowa, the rise of early Judaism and early Christianity. I am often sough after to also give the political, archeological conceptual background to biblical stories. As the actors are playing out a scene, respected clergy will give the faith aspect, then I will come and give the political and historical aspect.

When presented with the opportunity to be apart of Jesus: His Life, I was intrigued because it was different than most of the stories of Jesus I have been apart of or even seen. The reason it is different is because it is not like a nice Christmas Nativity Play. It also doesn't just have Jesus at the center of the story while people act out the story. This docu-series actually includes the supporting cast into the life of Jesus. People like Joseph, Mary, Peter etc are put in the center of the story in each episode. We see the story and how it looks like through their eyes. It allows us to experience how different people would have viewed Jesus as in their century. We see Him of course, as the Son of God, the Messiah and the King of Kings. However, imagine being in that time? Questions like "What do you mean, Son of God?" or frowning their faces when told of His miracles. The viewers of this docu-series gets to experience Jesus from that point of view. I have never seen that done in a documentary. So, when they showed me the script, I said " I want in!"

44

After viewing the docu-series, I would love the audience to react with excitement. I truly want the them to see how Jesus was portrayed in the scripture. Christians come to the scriptures with this great reverence for the Son of God, the Savior, the Messiah etc. I want to audience to see that there is a human side to Jesus as well. He wasn't always received by the people around Him! In that time, they had to be convinced! Not everyone came to Jesus believing! Some just chose not to.

Jesus: His Life, allows you to go through the struggles of other people in the Bible. Joseph struggled with the fact that Mary was pregnant and it wasn't by him. The viewers get to see what he had to wrestle with in order to believe it. These examples help make the story of Jesus come alive because people will see not just the humanity of Jesus, but others in His time.

This docu-series has impacted me personally because I have given my entire career to study the Bible. (from the text, its history, to the study of the people in it). So, anytime I get the opportunity to present the Bible to believers and even those that have never opened a Bible, I get excited. I get to do what I love for a living... publicly! I realized I can talk about what I love to millions of people and help others do the same! I may not make a whole lot of money, but I am doing something I truly enjoy.

Dr. Robert Cargill is Assistant Professor of Judaism, Christianity and Classics at the University of Iowa. He is the editor of popular magazine Biblical Archaeology Review (500,000 subscribers), and has led six archaeological digs in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. His latest book is Cities that Built the Bible (2016). He has appeared as an on-location expert on numerous documentaries and television shows, including Writing the Dead Sea Scrolls (National Geographic, 2010), and Bible Secrets Revealed (History, 2013), in which he also acted as consulting producer.

~Why I Did Thee Movie

The Least of These is very relevant to today because it happened in 1999. The deliverance portrays the hope and the love shown by an ordinary man from Australia who travels to India. It is a virtual monument of Graham Staines. As a missionary, he and his family displayed the love of Christ to the people of India. It is also a virtual monument of being persecuted for Christ yet showing forgiveness and virtue. In over 400 theaters in the US thus far, Americans have respond very well after viewing the movie. We received good reviews from media as well, but more importantly, the viewing audience love this film. Universal has even taken the film. I believe the reason is because it evokes emotions and causes people to make a decision to do something for others. Maybe even increase the desire to be a missionary themselves! You do not necessarily have to go to Africa or India to be one either. You can be a missionary right in your own neighborhood. You can walk down the street and see people who are "the least of these" who need help. I feel this film also encourages people to get off their couches and go into places and share the love of Christ. When it comes to sharing the story of Graham Staines, I feel his story is unique from other missionaries called to India. It is a very nice combination of courage and love. Knowing that he is in danger, he still stayed there due to his heart full of love and compassion. Courage and love will give you an inner strength. He displays this strength numerous times. It was important that we capture those moments! In order to prepare audiences for "The Least of These", social media played a big part in the marketing strategy. Social Media is organic. For those that don't have the big budgets to promote on other platforms, social media gave us that platform. People being able to share, comment and like the posts was very influencial in spreading the word. However, there is a flip side to it as well. Social media can also open the door for brutal comments and opinions especially those that do not believe the same thing that we do. In doing so, you need to have strong faith and be very careful what you put out there in return. Finally, I want Christians of today to be more inspired to reach the least of these. As I said before, that can be just spreading the love in their communities. I feel we are so much in bondage with social media, television and our own comfort zones. Americans are especially well protected when it comes living out a Christian life compared to Christians in other countries. From having a place to sleep, clothes on your back, food to eat, most are very blessed so they don't check on others to see how they can be of help. They hide behind the walls. Even using social media is ok to spread the love, but there is nothing like taking the next step and actually helping and reaching someone on a more personal level. I would like to see more Christians sharing what God has done for them and in return, other's being inspired and want to take action to become a Christian as well. Its more than reading the word. We also need to do the work as well as show and prove the love of God!
