ARTS Oil Painting - Beginning to Intermediate $179 Herb Lambert | Sat 9AM - 12PM 02/06/2021 - 03/27/2021 The focus of this class is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to draw and paint a variety of subject matter from still life to portraits. Students will learn oil painting concepts and techniques that are relevant to every painting: composition, value, color, edges, light key, brush strokes, paint quality, shapes, massing, light/shadows, etc. Demonstrations and critiques will be presented, however each student will be mentored and taught at their current level of experience.

Portrait Drawing and Painting Beginning | $179 Ernest Varner | Tue 9AM - 12PM 01/26/2021 - 03/16/2021 Professional artist and instructor Ernest Varner says, “If you can sign your name and I can read it, you can learn to draw and paint portraits and figures. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s have some fun!” Mr. Varner has studied with many of today’s portrait masters and uses his experience to enhance each student’s quest for personal expression. For beginning through intermediate skill levels, this class is designed to take the mystery out of painting portraits and figures. Whether you prefer classical realism or impressionism, you will concentrate on capturing a likeness in fresh vibrant flesh tones in oils or pastels while working from photos or live subjects. Particular attention will be given to understanding light and shadow, and how to model light and shadow using expressive drawing, value, color, edges, and brushwork techniques to create the illusion of form. Instructor demonstration and presentations, lectures, and critiques are intended to enhance self-expression so you can take your skills to the next level.

ARTS (CONTINUED) Portrait Drawing and Painting Advanced | $179 Ernest Varner | Tue 2PM - 5PM 01/26/2021 - 03/16/2021 This class is designed to help advanced level students further develop their extensive skills towards more completed works of art. You should have experience painting portraits and figures, as well as knowledge and ability in the use of composition, proportions, values, colors, and edges. Sewing for the Beginner | $179 Stefanie Faith | Tue 6:30PM - 9:30PM 01/12/2021 - 02/09/2021 In this class, you will learn the basic techniques of garment construction and fitting. You will complete at least one basic sewing project and expand your knowledge and abilities for performing basic sewing techniques. Students will learn how to set up and thread the sewing machine, wind the bobbin and load it in the machine; sew a seam, follow the seam guide, adjust stitch length, reverse the stitching, change a needle; follow a basic/simple sewing pattern; properly use and understand basic sewing terminology; and choose appropriate fabric for projects. Students must provide their own sewing machine and supplies (Approximately $15 for pattern. Fabric, thread, etc. is a separate cost).

Intermediate Sewing Plus | $179 Stefanie Faith | Thu 6:30PM - 9:30PM 01/14/2021 - 02/11/2021 Build on your skills from previous classes. We’ll be learning drawstring technique, biased binding and ruffle gathers. As you work your sewing muscles, we’ll help you set up your sewing room. We’ll work through projects like a wrist pin cushion, a sewing room organizer, an apron and deoderizer bag for your closets. For each class, please bring your sewing machine, pedal, thread, seam ripper and pins. Bring a sewing

Professional stage and design instructor Jan Britt will use step by step staging techniques to improve your selling experience and also boost your return on investment. She has developed inexpensive ideas to keep your project on budget while providing high-end looks of quality and updated decor. She will provide before and after photos of her own personal results as examples of what you can do for your home. You will learn tips to visually enlarge your space with the proper use of furniture, accessories, and lighting. For example, chandeliers can enhance the look of a room by using the guidelines taught to best accommodate the style and size of the room.

We will discuss color palettes and learn their importance of color flow. You will learn about environmental design that influences balance and atmosphere and discuss tips on how to help the environment as you decorate your spaces. You will be introduced to various Interior Design apps that help when visualizing your room’s or office.

PHOTOGRAPHY Photo I | $179 Martin Longstaff | Tue 6PM - 8PM 02/23/2021 - 03/30/2021 This is your first step toward taking the kinds of photos you want. Learn camera operation and care, f/stops, shutter speeds, exposure, and composition. Learn how to control perspective and to use different focal lengths to achieve that great image. Bring an adjustable camera, either film or digital.

Photo II | $179 Martin Longstaff | Tue 6PM - 8PM 01/05/2021 - 02/09/2021 Fine tune your current photography skills. Experience the excitement of sharing that moment of time you captured with your camera. Photo II continues the journey into the process of developing the artistic eye that is within us all. Learn how to “see” a photograph, the importance of the Zone system, studio lighting, developing great camera habits, night lighting, and more! Photo I recommended but not required.

Lightroom & Photoshop Introduction $179 Martin Longstaff | Tue 2:30PM - 4:30PM 02/23/2021 - 03/30/2021 In this course, you will learn how to process all the photographs that you take with your digital camera, manage them for easy access and prepare them for whatever project you so choose. The course will go through the layout and functions of the main editing tools in each program. Then we will work through the seven different modules of Lightroom (Library, Develop, Map, Book, Slideshow, Print & Web). Finally, you will learn how Photoshop can be used in conjunction with Lightroom to create Panorama, HDR and other composites for more advanced projects. ARTS & MUSIC (CONTINUED) Drawing a Portrait | $159 Abby Hermes | Wed 10AM - 12:30PM 01/13/2021 - 03/17/2021 This course incorporates all skill levels from beginner to intermediate. While some drawing experience is preferred, it is not a requirement. During this course, the instructor will cover a comprehensive procedure for drawing a portrait. Students will study the features and structures that make up the human face, the importance of proportion, and learn how to effectively and accurately illustrate these skills on paper.

This class will continue to explore the use of oil paint with an emphasis on realism/ impressionism using a limited palette. We will paint wet on wet (Alla Prima) over subjects such as: still life, landscape, portrait, and florals. Final classes will focus on a professional presentation over framing and reviews of local opportunities.

In addition to his Oscar awards and nominations, Billy Wilder received the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. There have been dynamic presidents, accidental presidents and during the Gilded Age they were called the “Forgotten presidents.” This class will cover the establishment of the office and review the dynamics of the office and the interesting personalities that have occupied it.
