Letter from the editor... Hello! So it’s now 2014 and a time for renewal and new resolutions, along with a new sense of purpose and determination. In keeping with the theme of new resolutions, I have resolved to make a few changes to freshlyWORN magazine for 2014. The biggest change (or non-change depending on how you view it) is as follows:
the magazine will not try to be everything for everyone. The conception and intention of this publication was to assist new and emerging photographers with the opportunity at having their work PUBLISHED. That was and is the goal of this magazine and that will NOT change. What will change is the content of the magazine, layout and formatting. These changes includes: •
photography based fashion and beauty editorials will be a minimum of 8 pages to a maximum of 12 giving artists a greater opportunity for exposure.
•
a NEW contributors page will be established and additional contributor information such as website and social networks will be included
•
credits in the editorial section will remain the same for the creative team; however, wardrobe credits will be treated differently to allow for more visual focus on the photography vs. who and where the clothing and accessories came from. The styling of an editorial is a vital part of an editorial and freshlyWORN is in no means diminishing that importance; it is the STYLE of the editorial that the magazine seeks to highlight, not necessarily what or where it came from.
•
wardrobe credits will be listed in the last page(s) of the magazine in a index format.
•
on occasion, when warranted, freshlyWORN will run features such as fashion show coverage, street style coverage, trend articles, etc.
The ‘back-to-basics’ changes to the magazine will begin with this issue and will to bring the magazine back to where we started with the focus on photography, fashion, beauty, culture and style.
