WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR? Our students are experienced professionals with a strong interest in human development. They want to expand their knowledge and skills, develop mastery in coaching, and cultivate a coaching practice that is grounded with sound theoretical knowledge. Our EBC alumni are coaches in business, education, health, social services, and other industries. Their coaching practice spans corporate, for-profit, nonprofit, and private practice settings.

WHY EVIDENCE BASED COACHING (EBC)? Our graduate-level coaching program is one of the first in the USA to to offer academic credit and position the education around evidence-based knowledge. Fielding’s program is designed to cultivate coaches who practice with professional mastery and know how to use theory to inform their coaching work. Fielding has provided our ground-breaking education since 2006, and it includes the following elements:
y The EBC certificate is an accredited coaching training program (ACTP) with the International Coach Federation (ICF). We follow a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the core competencies, and we train learners to coach at the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) level. Graduates receive 150 hours of coach training.
y Learners receive their education in a synchronous environment and learn with a cohort. There is independence and autonomy with the learning. It also occurs in a community with like-minded mid-career professionals seeking to either become a coach or incorporate the coaching skillset in their careers. y The EBC certificate is accomplished in 8-months, and the tuition is competitively priced. Plus, students receive 12 academic credits. Graduate-level education can be
a differentiator in today’s market as coaching grows in importance and popularity. Coaching is a fundamental strategy in many workplaces, with public and private sectors offering this benefit to all levels of leaders and high-potential employees.
y Fielding’s program combines research, scholarship, theory, models, and practice to educate students in a grounded approach to the coaching profession. The program also fully explores what it means to be a good instrument of self and includes personal awareness, growth, and self-development in the curriculum. y The certificate program offers a broad, multi-disciplinary approach to coaching by ensuring learners study the theories that underpin the coaching profession. Those theories include adult learning, adult development, neuroscience, communication, positive and transpersonal psychology, change, organization development, systems thinking, and many more. y The EBC Certificate faculty are some of the most credentialed and skilled coaches in the world. Our faculty are authors, scholars, and educators in multiple settings who also privately coach and maintain successful practices. The instructors come from a variety of universities, coach training programs, and backgrounds. This diversity in faculty provides learners exposure to different styles and approaches to coaching.
y The alumni from the EBC program remain active in a Coaching Community of Practice (CCoP). Learners in the certificate program do not have to be alumni to join the CCoP. Once enrolled, they can automatically enter and be in conversations with other EBC coaches globally, sharing resources, best practices, and possible business opportunities.
