Pros and cons: Capitalism Capitalism is an economic system that controls trade by private owners for profit. The

"

impact of Capitalism depends if you're a worker or a boss. If you're a boss or owner of a company Capitalism makes sense. If your company brings in a lot of profits, the more resources you give to your workers. In theory this would improve everyone's standard living. The problem is sometimes not all Capitalism bosses are good at sharing their wealth with their workers.

Capitalism can take the place that greed is good. Supporters say that?s a

"

positive thing because greed drives profits and profits bring innovations and more product development.

There are many pros and cons to Capitalism. There is more efficiency when is comes to Capitalism. In a capitalist based society people have motivation to be efficient and produce goods that are in command. This creates the pressure to cut costs and avoid wastes. While, state-owned firms can be less efficient. Capitalism of society allows people to be more creative and more innovative. They have a dynamic where entrepreneurs and firms look to develop more profitable products. As a result they will not want to invest in new products that may be popular with consumers. Lastly, Capitalism can give economic growth. Firms and individuals motivation to be innovative creates economic expansion because people are making new things. Capitalism has many cons as well. Firstly, inherited wealth and inequality. Capitalist society is built on the legal right to any private property, and to pass on wealth to future generations. Some Capitalist would like to argue that a capitalist society is fair because you get rewards for your hard work. But sometimes that's not always the case. The owners of companies or bosses can be greedy and not give you your fair share of your earnings. In some cases you are already rich because you inherited wealth or are born into a privileged class. Secondly, societies that are unequal can create bitterness and a social division. It?s important to keep your societies equal because of the conflicts it can cause. Lastly, firms with monopsony power can pay lower payment to workers. This can happen when there is one employer and many workers wanting to gain employment. As a result, Capitalism brought many benefits and many disadvantages during the Industrial Revolution.

Industrial Revolution effects The Industrial revolution was a period of time when goods and materials switched to being machine manufactured and were then made rapidly. This began in the United Kingdom then after, to many more parts of the world. The industrial revolution affected more than just how goods were made and produced. It changed the way people lived, family?s, and other things including relationships of people to others in their community. The effects of this Industrial Revolution were however both positive and negative. During the Industrial Revolution, the invention of new machines led to goods being produced way faster. Machines allowed everyday items like clothes, tools, footwear, house items/decorations, and many more to be made at a more efficient rate thus man made goods were not necessary. Machine work did not require nearly as much effort as hand making the same items did causing everything to be cheaper. This benefited all sorts of people now that goods were more affordable for everyone. The rapid production of tools also led to the invention of vehicles. At this time they were just very simple and used for transportation of goods and people. Labor saving machines such as the spinning Jenny and many more were also big inventions having many good effects during this time. Another large benefit of the Industrial revolution was medicin. Industrialization allowed tools used for this such as microscopes, test tubes, and many more to be produced quicker and communication improved making the cure for illnesses able to be known around the world helping multiple people. Although there were many pros of the Industrial Revolution, there were also cons. Because this period in time promised better wages, people soon fled to certain areas over populating them. Shacks that were not built very good were used for housing of the new people arriving and it became a mess. Sewerage became a big problem with this. Water then became contaminated leaving many people sick with not so easy cures for these illnesses. Another problem that arose during the Industrial revolution was pollution problems. The fuel needed for new factories was increasing wich we can now trace global warming back to this period of time. The working conditions in these factories were also foul. Coal mines was one of the most dangerous. Flooding, unexpected explosions, earthquakes, and fumes in this job were extremely dangerous. This didn't stop the people from working in these mines which was dangerous for all people working there. Children were also employed to work during this time with families. They were likely to be used with machinery because they can fit there arm better in places then those of full grown humans. This sometimes led to the losing of limbs which was extremely crucial. As a result, the Industrial Revolution led to many benefits of daily life as well as extremely poor conditions.

This piece of art from the Industrial Revolution is realist. In this piece of art, the mother is holding the child to the side and sort of facing away from the father. The faces on these people do not quite show affection. It looks like the mother is in charge of taking care of the children and the fathers job is to hunt. He is holding a weapon and a bird it appears he caught and is supplying to the family for food. He also has a dog that looks more like a hunting dog by his side while the mother has a house dog that wouldn't be used for work by her side. Yes, I do think this piece is effective.

The first ?reliable? steam engine was invented by James Watt in 1775. In the steam engine there is a boiler full of water. Then the fire heats up the water to create steam. Then the steam is then moved into a cylinder, which causes the piston to move up and down. It costs about 10,000 dollars. It changed life for people because it provides energy for transportation. The steam engine was the main power source of the Industrial Revolution in Europe.

The telegraph was invented by Samuel Morse in

1830?s-1840?s. It was said to be one of the greatest inventions of the Industrial Revolution. The telegraph made instant communication possible across the country and even across the globe. It enabled people to keep in contact with everyone and it made it easier to be aware of geopolitical events. How the telegraph worked was by transmitting electrical signals over a wire that's connected to multiple other wires to send it to the person you wanted. It became the world?s first electrical form of communications. The price of a telegraph varies because it's a different cost to wherever you might want to send it to. When the first transcontinental telegraph opened it was $7.40 for ten words.

George Stephenson invented the locomotive in 1814. The invention of the locomotive was after the steam engine because the steam engine provided the locomotive power. Locomotives allowed large scale movement and carried people over long distances. It was the main way of transportation during this time period. It allowed people to go wherever they wanted to go. The prices for a locomotive varies but it's usually around 1 million dollars. 7

Entertainment One of Wagner ?s songs such as Tannhäuser was an epic work released during the industrial revolution. 1845 was the year this work was released. It is based on two German legends. This song was very unique.

Louis Pasteur created pasteurization. He was born in Dole, France, on

December 27, 1822. Louis had spent many years researching at Dijon LycĂŠe before his major contribution. In this in between time Lois married and had 5 kids. In 1854 he became the professor and dean of the science facility at the University of Lille. This was where he began the study of bacteria of many manufactured drinks. He invented the process in which bacteria is removed by boiling and cooling the liquids. The very first text was on April 20, 1862 and is known as pasteurization. This discovery impacted the industrial revolution in many ways. His discovery was able to save people from many diseases. He had saved the silk industry because the main diseases came from the chickens. His vaccines caused them to repel to the virus of anthrax, cholera, and smallpox. Many industries began using these vaccines and stopped these viruses from spreading. Without the discovery of Louis Pasteur ?s the outcome will have change dramatically. Many industries could have collapse from the viruses going around, such as the silk industry. Animals throughout the world could have been dying causing less food and less materials or clothing. The people involved must have felt very relieved knowing their jobs, and animals lives were saved and impacted lives in a better way.
