In finessing the skill of stretch forming, Quintrex utilises a purpose-built hydraulic system which elongates each flat aluminium sheet over a precise forming dye. When changing the shape of the aluminium, the metal goes through a process called “Work Hardening”. When performed correctly, the overall strength of the material is increased by altering the crystal structure of the aluminium, therefore making Quintrex boats safer and more reliable.
