A group of amassed residents in the Masilonyana Local Municipality took it to the main roadandclosedofftheR30route in a protest against the municipality. The protestors claimedtheyarenowfedupwith the Masilonyana Local Municipality, accusing its councillors of manipulating the recruitment or hiring process for aroadconstructionprojectinthe mentioned area. The mayor of the municipality, Dimakatso Modise, told the media that she was made aware of the accusations that are being made against councillors, but she yet again confirmed that the employment processes for the road projects are being handled through the Department of Labour and not through the municipality. Dimakatso said she appealed to the residents who have made accusations of engaging with their local councillors to find a suitable solution and agreement. Dimakatso said: "Yesterday, the community issued a memorandumtothemunicipality in which they raised four issues. Today (last week Friday, 11 November 2022) they said they were going to barricade the R30 due to unemployment. Remember, there is the refurbishmentofthe R30andthe employment is done through the labourdepartment.”Inregardsto the protest that did commence on Friday, a spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, informed the media that a 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday after the protestors barricaded the R30 road with burning tires, stones and rubble. "They were verbally warned to disperse but refused to disperse. Then a 41-year-old man was arrested for incitement to commit public violence, public violence, and destruction of infrastructure. The situation was brought under control and residents then dispersed. Thakeng also added that the police remained vigilant for a period of time in the area preventingthegroupofpeopleto return again and continue with the protest and blocking off the routeforpassingmotorists.

Winburg Police hinder burglary

Acting on a tip-off, the Winburg police managed to hinder a planned burglary, which involved foreign nationals, at a clothing chain store. The station commander of Winburg, Capt. Niniveh Landman, received a tip-off from residents that there was a burglary planned for Thursday 10 November at midnight, during load shedding. Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswapolicetoldthemedia: “They received information that there would be two white Volkswagen (VW) Polo with no registration numbers and that the suspects would be armed with handguns.” He further said that Landman mobilized all police members who had taken rest days and a strategy was formulated. He explained they waylaid the clothing store, and a white Polo was seen passing the Winburg police station very slowly. “The suspects managed to cut open the roof of the clothing shop, and then police members pounced on them. The suspects started to run in different directions, shooting at police members who returned fire. No one sustained gunshot wounds during the shootout.” Two suspects were caught redhanded in the shop with miscellaneous burglary tools in their possession. A white VW Polo was spottednearthecrimescene,andthe police discovered that the driver had with him a big hammer, bolt cutter and grinding machine. The suspects, aged 25, 29 and 36 years old, are fromBotshabelo. Theywere arrested forburglarybusinessandpossession of house-breaking implements. The suspects appeared in the Winburg Magistrate’s Court. The district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj.Gen.LeratoMolale,applaudsthe residents ofWinburgfortrustingthe policewiththissensitiveinformation which led to these arrests. Molale after the arrest said: “Thank you to the station commander and his team members who were mobilized while on rest days and who ensured that thereweremorebootsontheground toenhancepolicevisibility.”

Klitsie weet nie mooi wat om van die tannie te maak wat so staan en moan oor my op facebook nie. Klitsie begin wonder hoekom die so hard probeer om die rubriek gestop te kry. Liewe tannie, klitsie gesels nou met jou. Jy skep die idee dat ek loop moeilikheid soek as ek so oor die doen en late van dit wat in ons gemeenskap gebeur skryf. Ek weet dit pla jou want ek weet jy weet dat ek al meer as een keer oor jou loop staan skryf het. Ek het nie gejok oor wat ek skryf nie want jy was die sondebokkie gewees. Ongelukkig was ek een van die gaste wat op jou stoep gestaan het toe jy so vrylik loop klippies druk het in jou eens beste maatjie se bande. En Klitsie is nie so seker jy praat die waarheid as jy sê jy lees nie Klitsgras nie. En daar gons die dorp oor die fight (of was dit nou 'n attempted robbery?) gewees wat sommer so helder oordag by 'n bekende winkel in die dorp uitbreek. Klitsie verstaan dat 'n paar vieslike houe uitgedeel is. En dit oor of met of deur 'n visstok? Ek het eergistermiddag hierdie ree@nboog afgeneem buite my huis. Maar kom ek noem net vir jou dat hierdie foto op GEEN manier die grootsheid van hierdie oomblik kan vasvat nie. Omdat ek die foto op 'n wye hoek moes neem om alles in te kry, lyk dit of die ree@nboog baie ver weg is, terwyl dit gevoel het of ek 'n hanetree van die pot goud gestaan het. Dit het werklik my asem totaal weggeslaan en ek kon nie ophou kyk daarna nie. My eerste gedagte was: Hoe groot is U Here, om hierdie onbeskryflike skoonheid vir die mens te wys! Dit voel of mens op jou kniee@ wil neerval en met jou hande in die lug die Here aanbid. Sommer in die heel eerste boek van die Bybel lees ons van die ree@nboog naB die sondvloed, waar God belowe dat Hy nooit weer die hele aarde sal oorstroom met ree@n nie. "Toe het God geseO: Dit is die teken van die verbond tussen My en julle en die wilde diere by julle, 'n verbond wat vir alle toekomstige geslagte geld: my ree@nboog het Ek in die wolke geplaas. Dit sal die teken wees van die verbond tussen My en die aarde."

RECIPE BY

Ingredients

30 ml (2 Tbsp) sunflower oil

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 green pepper, finely chopped

3 carrots, peeled and grated

30 ml (2 Tbsp) Robertsons

Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ

45 ml (3 Tbsp) Knorr

Chakalaka Soup

125 ml (½ cup) water

700 g Boerewors6 bread rollsbutter (optional)

100 g feta cheese, crumbled

Preparation method

Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the onions and green peppers until soft.Add the grated carrots and sauteB for a further 10 minutes, or until softened. Add the Robertsons Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ and stir for 1 minute.In a small bowl, make a smooth mixture of the Knorr Chakalaka Soup and water, and add this to the saucepan. Stir well and simmer over a medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the chakalaka reaches the desired consistency.Braai the boerewors over low to medium coals until cooked through, taking care not to burn it on the outside. Remove from the grid and cut into portions.Slice the rolls lengthways, and butter them (optional). Place a boerewors piece in each roll and top with the chakalaka and crumbled feta.Serve hot.

Die mens kan geensins 'n ree@nboog in die lug plaas nie, net God kan dit doen. Maar saam met dit het hierdie teken my opnuut herinner dat God sy beloftes hou, ten alle tye! En wat meer is, sy belofte is 'n bevestiging dat sy genade SO groot is, en sy liefde vir ons so groot is, dat Hy ons nie weer so sal vernietig nie. Sy genade en liefde is eenvoudig net teB groot! Ek het aan so paar punte gedink:

* Hy is 'n genadige God.

* Hy hou sy beloftes.

* Hy geen ons elke dag nog 'n kans.

* Hy kan die mees indrukwekkende kunswerke met sy hande skep, sodat die mens dit kan bewonder.

* Hy laat toe dat die mens Hom ook deur wetenskap kan leer ken.

* Hy is die God van wonders.

Ja my vriend, as jy Hom soek hoef jy nie altyd ver te kyk nie, jy hoef net jou oe@ op te hef na Hom toe.
