TO THE SALE FROM BOHRSON MARKETING

On behalf of the Bohrson Marketing team I would like to welcome you to the 2nd Annual Cowboy Trail Bull Sale. The two consignors in this bull sale believe in cattle that can go out and work for you their valued customers. The bulls and heifers on offer have been left out on grass making their way until well into the fall. You can expect the progeny of these animals to be hard working and not in need of pampering. The exact way many cowboys and cattlemen raise their own cattle.

Bar CL Livestock and 2K springs have really been working hard on producing the best quality animal they can. They have been investing heavily in top quality genetics in the elete dispersal sales in Canada the last couple years along with also buying bred heifers off the top producers. This has been addition to the strict culling practices that they have been doing for many years. Not only are they bringing some great bulls but you can count on seeing 20 commercial heifers, that were hand selected from the heart of the herd.

The next consignor really needs no introduction as he has been in the business for close to 50 years if not already. Danny Blain established Eagle Ridge Simmentals many years ago and has had bulls and heifers that have gone on and were game changers in many breeds across the country. I’m sure every Simmental producer knows their CSA number. Id sure like to know who has one that’s older than Dannys…its #400!! That’s correct, I am not missing a zero. Longevity in the cattle business means your doing something right, Longevity in the purebred business means your doing many many things right. His daughter, Dallas, is the other part of Eagle Ridge and works right alongside. They will be bringing both sound functional bulls and heifers that will make their purchasers very happy indeed. At last years sale the open heifers showed just how sought after these genetics truly are.

• All bulls are backed by the seller and guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders as per the Canadian Simmental Association Bylaws

• All bulls 12 months of age will be semen tested, palpated and scrotal measurement taken by an accredited vetrinarian. Information will be available sale day.

• All bulls returning to sellers’ farms MUST be insured. Bulls can be kept at the consignors farms at no cost until April 1, 2024. Delivery will be arranged as soon as it’s mutually agreed upon by the seller and purchaser. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 300km of Sundre. Delivery beyond will be arranged at cost.

WELCOME FROM BAR CL LIVESTOCK

We are very excited to present to you our 2024 bulls. We are looking forward to the sale at Timber River Station, and hope to see local farmers as well as those of you who are driving a few hours to come see what we have to offer. We have 18 yearlings to offer this year, and this is also the first year we have ever had heifers to sell and we are very excited for you all to take a look! Bar CL Livestock is located 20 minutes south east of Sundre, and 1 mile west off of highway 22 on the Bergen Road. We have been working on expanding our herd and are currently at around 130 head of Purebred Simmental cattle. 2K Springs have 50 head of Purebred Simmental cattle and have 5 awesome yearling bulls up for sale this year. My daughters Carlee (14) and Jaycee (16) are very involved in 4-H and the Young Canadian Simmental Association. Jaycee has gotten more serious in her cattle showing and has been my helper this past year with calves and around the farm and writes me all the bull write ups! Carlee is also a big help around the farm and enjoys her sports like hockey, volleyball, and softball. Shari is the Physiotherapist at the Sundre hospital. Luminous is out of one of our farms longest lasting cows. 252Y has been an easy keeper since we purchased her as a heifer calf from Labatte Simmentals in 2012. We are very excited to welcoming me everyone to the second annual Cowboy Trail Bull sale. There has been many changes in our program over the last year. We built a new bull pen facility and we are very happy with the way the bulls have grown this year. We are also excited to offer 9 open heifers again this year and we think they as well will make excellent breeding stock for our fellow Simmental breeder friends. Dad is very proud of the fact that this year marks the 50 th year that he has registered Simmental cattle. We are considered very blessed to be part of such a wonderful group of agricultural like minded people we call our friends. Welcome to all old friends and as always all new young fresh breeders and cattle men and women to our bull and heifer sale. Everyone is welcome to stop by the farm to view and visit….. coffee is always on .

Purebred

Leo is a nice quiet tempered bull out of a Harvie Power ball dam that goes back to Harvie Red Summit. He would be safe to use on heifers and also has enough performance. We feel to work on the mature cow herd. Leo has strong muscle development and very sound feet and legs.
