Welcome to the latest What’s On guide!

Thank you for picking up a copy of our latest What’s On guide! We have a great line up ahead of us over the next few months and we are so excited to share everything with you. We have some incredible acts heading to our venue including the brilliant Everybody’s Talking About Jamie that arrives with us in December.

From the world of entertainment, we have Supergrass Legend and Local Hero Gaz Coombes as part of his solo tour, the internationally loved Dawn French returns to our stage with her Dawn French is a Huge Tw*t show, as well as the amazing Diversity who arrive for two action-packed evenings to thrill you all! We also welcome musical theatre royalty Alfie Boe, and from the world of comedy, we have Tom Allen, Frankie Boyle and Ross Noble.

We have an amazing line-up of musicals heading to the New Theatre Oxford this season as we welcome the Broadway and West End smash hit Shrek the Musical to our venue, as well as The King and I, The Drifters Girl before Dorothy, Toto and the gang fly in directly from Kansas with the amazing The Wizard Of Oz.

This will be big, HUGE! Pretty Woman: The Musical arrives at New Theatre Oxford this December, so make sure you set a date to see Hollywood’s ultimate rom-com brought to life on our stage! The show took London’s West End by storm, and it’s guaranteed to give you a boost and warm up your heart during those chilly winter months!

During this hands-on workshop, you will practice creating looks that bring the theatre to life! This is the perfect environment to develop your skills as an artist and broaden your love for makeup.

Step into the exciting world of special effects and learn how to create various looks from television, film, live-action and stage. Experiment with the tools of the trade to create bruising, abrasions, zombie veins and latex texture wounds.

BIG BEATS LITTLE FEET BABY RAVE

This is a family-fun afternoon like no other! Expect a baby-friendly nightclub experience (no strobe lighting), with balloons, glow sticks and 00s bangers. Not to forget, the activities and crafts are for all ages. Fancy dress is optional, but encouraged!

In this exciting ‘learning by doing’ musical theatre workshop, the children will be taught the tricks of the trade by the fantastic Jasmine Rodhouse who has been in the musical theatre industry, on stage and behind the scenes, for over a decade.

FACE AND BODY PAINTING

In this workshop, you will work with a variety of paint styles, brushes and stencil techniques. It’s the perfect introduction to face and body painting and an amazing opportunity to use professional equipment and products!

MAKEUP THROUGH THE AGES

Come along to our period makeup journey through the ages! Experiment with different techniques to help you capture the Egyptian, Roman, Tudor and Victorian looks and learn how the world of makeup has developed and changed over the past 100 years.

FANTASY MAKEUP

Learn how to combine various techniques and styles and challenge your own creativity in a free-flowing, fun environment that will enable everyone to get involved and learn about all things makeup within the fantasy genre!

Learn how to create half-face character makeup using the basic drag techniques from contouring, to colour and brow-blocking, everything that is required to achieve the very best looks in a fun and vibrant environment.

BURLESQUE WORKSHOP

Led by the fantastic Lola La Pearl of the Folly Mixtures Burlesque troop, come along and discover the art of the tease in this fun and flirtatious class. Learn the basic of burlesque dancing, including bumps, shimmies and thrusts, all while having a good old giggle!
