WELCOME TO A VERY GREEN SPRING AT THE EDINBURGH PLAYHOUSE We’re turning Edinburgh a shade of emerald green for five weeks this spring with Scotland’s only performance of the spellbinding Wicked. As we move into summer, enjoy the feel-good musical Summer Holiday, the critically acclaimed Titanic the Musical, and the highly anticipated new musical, The Band, featuring the music of Take That. As the UK’s largest theatre, we’ve been entertaining audiences since 1929. Today we continue to present some of the nation’s biggest stars; including Gary Barlow, Sheridan Smith and comedian Kevin Bridges.

Last summer, we revamped our auditorium to reflect its original 1920s colours, and replaced the carpet in the Stalls. So if you‘ve not been to see us in a while, why not let the shows in your What’s On guide tempt you in. I look forward to seeing you at the Playhouse very soon. Colin Marr – Theatre Director

ACCESS PERFORMANCES Did you know we offer visually impaired audience members the chance to experience a special on-stage visit for selected shows? We recently welcomed a large group on-stage for a touch tour before an audio described performance of Shrek the Musical. This gave visually impaired audience members a chance to feel the sets, costumes and props to enhance their perception of the show. The audio description helps visually impaired patrons follow what’s happening live on stage via headsets as the action, body language, facial expressions, costumes and scenery are described during gaps in the actors’ dialogue. Check out show pages for details of forthcoming signed, audio-described and captioned performances. ‘We’re regular attendees at the Playhouse and

the touch tours give our visits an extra dimension. We are looking forward to the audio described performance of An Officer and a Gentleman in July.’ John Newing – Capital Theatre Group

THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE HAS YOUR NAME ON IT! Well done Lisa Davidson from Carstairs - the winner of our seat sponsorship competition! Lisa wins two tickets to every show at the Playhouse in 2018. She was entered into the prize draw at the end of December, and was overwhelmed to have won. Lisa can now see her personally dedicated inscription on the seat plaque, as we welcome her to enjoy our fantastic shows this year. To join Lisa and make your mark on the Playhouse, visit ATGTICKETS.COM/edinburgh-seat-sponsorship

WORKING WITH OUR NEIGHBOURS – To enhance your visit to your theatre ‘Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh is delighted to be a principal business partner with our neighbour, The Edinburgh Playhouse. The Theatre hosts a great variety of shows, and our relationship is strengthened through partnership opportunities like the recent Shrek afternoon teas that we offered guests and customers.’ Douglas Winfield – General Manager If you’d like to work with us, please contact Jenniferwallace@theambassadors.com
