The headquarters of the beautiful Spur Ranch are located 12 miles northwest of Spur, Texas, on Highway 836. We are approximately 50 miles east of Lubbock, Texas. The Spur Ranch is an ideal location to host business meetings, retreats, family reunions, weddings, or weekend outings. It’s a true hidden oasis!

The headquarters have a large common area in front of the cook shack and guest quarters that are ideal for large gatherings or parties. Catering is available. We lease on a per day or per event basis.

Shooting School • Outdoor Solutions Guitar Outdoors has partnered with Outdoor Solutions to host shooting schools for people of all experience levels to help improve accuracy. Our range offers targets ranging from 250 – 1000 yards to accommodate all levels of marksman. After spending hard earned money, for a Western Big Game hunt, the last thing you want is to have a trophy of a lifetime walk away because you were not comfortable with the shot, or worse yet, taking the shot and ending up with a wounded animal. Our long range classes not only reconfirm shooting basics but teach the fundamentals of proper shooting techniques at extended distances in various shooting positions. More importantly our long range class exposes a shooter’s limitations and the limitations of his or her equipment in the field where it counts, in turn making them a more confident and ethical hunter.

WhiteTail We offer native, low fence, fair chase, whitetail hunts with a rifle or bow. Additionally, we have implemented a year-round supplemental feeding program designed specifically for our ranch. You can expect opportunities to harvest mature bucks in the 120-170 class range. Hunting methods include Safari style, spot and stalk, rattling, and blind hunting, which provide excellent opportunities for success. The terrain is very diversified consisting of native pasture, rolling hills, mesquite flats, canyons, and draws.
Mule Deer One of the most unique hunting experiences in the United States is hunting free range and fair chase mule deer in Texas. We are blessed to have over 14,000 acres which are home to high quality mule deer. Come hunt the canyons of Texas for trophy mule deer!

History of the Guitar Ranches The Guitar Ranches legacy dates all the way back to the early 1900’s. Today, it is owned and operated by Phil and Jane Guitar. Based in Abilene, TX, the family-run operation raises Black and Red Angus cows in the verified natural beef program on ranches across seven counties throughout West Texas. They also specialize in hunting, lodging, performance horses, and land, oil and gas development. Not only are Phil and Jane hands-on with their ranch operations, but they are also very active in their local community. Phil was one of the founding members of the Western Heritage Classic held at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene, Texas each spring, and he still remains on the board. They are proud supporters of the Western Heritage where their ranches have competed in the WHC Ranch Rodeo since 1985. They also consign horses to the annual horse sale. Guitar Ranches was founded on the tradition of ranching and cherishes the opportunity to share that tradition with others. From raising cattle to hosting corporate events, they have a place for everyone. Guitar Ranches prides themselves on being good stewards of their land and animals through successful conservation practices and maintaining high ethical standards.
