Meghan’s bid to ‘save Archie’ T

he Duke and Duchess of Sussex shocked the world when they announced their plans to step down as senior royals and move to North America with their eight-month-old son Archie. And new can reveal Meghan was the driving force behind the dramatic decision, telling hubby Harry she could no longer cope with the pressures of being in the spotlight – and she had concerns about how this might impact their young son in years to come. “Meghan was behind the shock move and told Harry she couldn’t live in the goldfish bowl of the royal family any longer,” explained our source. “She said she couldn’t bear to watch Archie grow up in the glare of the spotlight and suffer like Harry did. Harry felt torn but had to support his wife – admitting he’s been wracked with guilt at what Meghan’s endured since giving up her life for him.” Although some reports claim Harry is behind the move, Meghan has made no secret of her struggles with royal life. Speaking on ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey in October, she tearfully said, “It’s not enough to just survive something. That’s not the point of life. You’ve got to thrive,” before adding, “Not many people have asked if I’m OK,

but it’s a real thing to be going through behind the scenes.” And our source says Meghan has been thinking about their future for months, using their recent six-week break in Canada to start planning their next step. “Meghan’s been considering her options for months and insists

she has to put her family’s happiness first. She’s upset by the lack of support she’s been offered, which made her feel even more isolated than she did already,” our insider said. “She used their Christmas trip as a recce to start preparing their new life – looking at schools, areas to live and even a couple of potential mansions to buy, in order to make the move go as smoothly as possible. “Both Meghan and Harry knew they would face untold criticism for their shock move, but they would rather take it all now for a quiet life than endure it for the rest of their lives.” In an extraordinary statement last week, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, revealed they will “step back as senior members of the Royal Family” and “work to become financially independent” as they divide their time between the UK and North America.

The couple, who reportedly wish to keep Frogmore Cottage as well as their royal titles, are said to have made their decision without the knowledge of the rest of the family. “There is fury over how they’ve done this without any thought for the implications for the institution,” claimed a second source. “The Queen is deeply upset. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are incandescent with rage.” But royal expert Duncan Larcombe tells new this is only the tip of the iceberg, as their bombshell move will throw the royal family into chaos. “It’s a disaster for the rest of the royal family,” he says. “The Queen is horrified and Prince Charles and Prince William are genuinely stunned. Everyone knew Harry and Meghan weren’t comfortable, but obviously Harry’s so-called rift with William ran

‘It’s a disaster for the rest of the royal family’ deeper than perhaps it was even reported.” As to what this means for the future, Duncan tells us, “It’s almost impossible to sit down and work out what the implications are in the long term. Harry’s decision to step back will presumably mean hundreds of engagements that he would normally have been expected to do will probably have to be done by someone else.” He adds, “The reality is that Harry and Meghan could earn a lot of money, but based on what’s happened with other members of the royal family who have tried to earn a living off their own back, it has never worked well.” However, although Duncan has his concerns, retail expert Andy Barr of alertr.co.uk, says the couple’s revenue could hit an all-time high after standing down. “This will just be the stepping stone for higher value products being launched later down the line,” he said. “Undoubtedly this will be a multimillion pound revenue business given they are effectively trading on the back of the royal name, which is ironic given they are seemingly trying to escape its clutches.” Let’s hope their controversial decision pays off in the long run. heryl Tweedy Cheryl shocked fans wants when she a sibling revealed her for Bear plans to use a sperm donor, admitting she wants more children but feels like she’s running out of time. Opening up about her decision, the 36-year-old said, “If time was on my side and I was in my twenties, yeah, I would wait and consider more options, or wait for somebody I felt was right.” And now new can reveal her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, who is father to her two-year-old son Bear, has given Cheryl his blessing to go ahead with her baby dreams. “She had a long heart-to-heart with Liam over Christmas and told him of her plan to expand her brood,” an insider told us. “She admitted that while it wasn’t her dream scenario or how she’d planned her life would go, all she wants is more

Liam agreed with her.” Polaroid singer Liam, 26, who is now dating 19-year-old model Maya Henry, has even offered to co-parent if she does have more children. “He gave Cheryl his full blessing – insisting he’d support her however he could and making her feel at ease with her decision by letting her know they’d be one big blended family. He also said he’d be a father figure to her future children too, given they’d be Bear Bear’ss sib siblings,” our source added. And ac according to our mole, Cheryl, who adm admitted she wants to provide “more th than one” sibling for Bear, is said to be hoping to fall pregnant with twins to ffulfil her dream. The so source continued, “Cheryl’s come to peace with the decision to find a sperm donor and she’s de desperate to fall pregnant with tw twins – insisting that given she w wants two more children, it w will be far easier to do it once than go through the process again down the line.” The former Girls Aloud star has made no secret of the fact she wants a big brood, previously admitting, “I always said I’ like to have a big family, I’d be because I’m from one, so I’d like four or five children.” S Sounds like your dream could soon become a reality, Chez!

Khloé tells Tristan ‘I want another baby’ The KUWTK star is hoping to give her daughter a sibling – with her ex!

K

hloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have been co-parenting their 21-month-old daughter True since their split last February – and we can reveal she wants another baby with her ex. “Khloé’s told Tristan she’s longing to give Pictured True a sibling in together in December the next year – asking him to give her another baby on the condition he accepts it doesn’t necessarily mean a reunion and doesn’t take it as a green light she’s taking him back,” an insider told new. “She doesn’t want to leave it too long to give True a brother or sister and wants her to grow up with siblings around her, like she did.” However, Khloé’s sisters Kim and Kourtney have warned her against the idea as they’re worried it could end in more

heartache after Tristan’s string of cheating scandals. “Kim and Kourtney are hellbent against Khloé’s plan and have desperately warned her not to have another baby with the love rat, insisting he’ll use it as a way of muscling back into her life,” our source said. Khloé, 35, and Tristan, 28, split after the basketball player was accused of flirting with half-sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods. And in April 2018, days before Khloé gave birth, it was claimed he’d been unfaithful with multiple women during her pregnancy. In December, Khloé revealed co-parenting was going “so well”, saying, “It is a great space to be in. Co-parenting is such a hard space. Much respect to all co-parenters.” Let’s hope it stays that way…

Cameron’s secret joy The actress reveals she’s become a mum

Proud parents Benji and Cameron

“We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden,” she wrote on Instagram. “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.” The 47-year-old actress added that, while she and Benji, 40, are “overjoyed” to share their news, they want to protect their baby’s privacy. “We won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact she is really really cute!” she said.

Cameron, who married musician Benji in 2015, was pictured in November with a slim figure, wearing high-waisted jeans – sparking speculation she might have had Raddix via a surrogate. One confused fan questioned, “Was she actually pregnant or did they use a surrogate? Cameron Diaz really knows how to keep a secret huh!” while another asked, “Wait but was Cameron Diaz pregnant or was it a surrogate??” The star is keeping mum for now…

EXCLUSIVE

x e s f o t h g u o h t ‘The makes me want to vomit!’

Josie Gibson explains why she’s frightened to get intimate in the bedroom and reveals she’s on a mission to shed 2½ stone

T

his time last year, Josie Gibson was newly single after ending her relationship with property developer Terry, the father of her 16-month-old son Reggie James. At the time, Josie was fearful about the future and how co-parenting with Terry would work out. But fast-forward 12 months and the ex-Big Brother star tells us she’s loving life. “If I’d known this time last year that I was going to be in the position I’m in now, it would have made everything so much nicer,” Josie reveals during our exclusive shoot at her Bristol townhouse with young Reggie. “The co-parenting was shit for the first six to eight months, but now it’s working out well. I’m really looking forward to what this year will bring. I’ve even dyed my hair red – I fancied a change and I’ve heard redheads have more fun!” After a fraught few months at the start of 2019, Josie and Terry patched things up. They now go on family holidays and Terry is currently doing some renovation work on Josie’s house. Over the past few months, Josie’s been filming competition promos for ITV’s This Morning. She’s jetted to Mauritius, South Africa, Austria and France – most of the time with Reggie by her side. “I absolutely love it and ITV are amazing for letting me bring Reg along here and there,” she tells us. “I get to work with people I grew up watching on TV. I’m

living my dream, even though the free food on trips isn’t good for my waistline!” In 2013, Josie famously lost 6st in a year and launched a best-selling fitness DVD. “I was in such amazing shape then,” she

reflects, adding, “I can’t keep using having a baby as an excuse for my weight at the moment!” While we reassure her that she looks amazing, Josie reveals she wants to lose 2½st this year by HIIT training and ditching bread.

Hi Josie! How’s co-parenting going with Terry? Oh my God, it was hideous and terrible in the beginning! Now, it’s the dream. He has been the best dad and I’m so glad I had a baby with him. Why was it bad? I totally hit rock bottom after the split. I was like, “How am I going to cope being a single parent?” Was Terry seeing Reggie during the difficult period? Yeah he was, but not regularly. Terry was doing a house renovation, so he constantly had deadlines. I was left to look after the baby 24/7 and I couldn’t get to the gym and could hardly do any work. Reggie’s been to so many jobs with me. Why do you think it got better? Reg got older and, I’ll be honest, Terry was not good at the baby stage. It was the lack of sleep and he’s got OCD so, with a new baby and all the things that come with it, it just wasn’t working. And then I was going crazy because I didn’t think he was being supportive. But now, the two of them are inseparable. Terry is absolutely obsessed with him. Reg has a little personality now and it’s brilliant. I feel like I’ve done all

‘You have to hit rock bottom to appreciate the good stuff’

the hard work and now Reg prefers him over me. Reg even cries at the door when he leaves. It really upsets me! Who made the first move to patch things up? You get to a point where you’re like, “Hold on a minute, I don’t matter, our relationship doesn’t matter. The only thing that does is our lovely little son.” And we’ve got to that point now. I’ll be honest, my life is fricking amazing at the moment. Do you hold a grudge against Terry for not behaving as you’d have liked in the first few months? No, because when you see them together, it’s amazing. They’re obsessed with each other. Would you and Terry consider getting back together? We do lovely family things together and we’re back at the friends stage now. At the start, he didn’t appreciate where I wanted to go and my goals and dreams and he just thought I should be happy with what I had. But I wasn’t. I always wanted the nice family home and, don’t get me

wrong, I got that. But I’m not where I want to be careerwise. But now he gets my views and we’re an amazing team, whereas before we weren’t. I do believe sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to appreciate the good stuff and to give you a kick up the arse. So you’re just good friends? Yeah. We went camping with Reggie in a campervan the day before Christmas Eve. We were the only ones on the campsite. It wasn’t cold or anything. There are heaters in there and it’s got two double beds. I only managed to last one night and then Terry started to do my head in, so I came home. He’s also helping to renovate the front of my house. How often do the three of you go away together? We do the odd family thing here and there. We went to Greece last year and it was hard work. It got to the point where we were like, “What have we done?” When you’ve got a baby in the mix and there’s a lack of sleep… he really gets on my nerves sometimes!

Did you share a room when you went away together? We did, yeah, but separate beds. So there’s been no sexy time between the two of you since you split up? I think the last time I had sex I got pregnant! [Laughs] It frightens me now. Really? Seriously. It’s been a long time! I don’t feel very sexual at all. The thought of sex actually makes me vomit! Reggie has slept in my bed from the moment he got back from hospital and no one is taking his place. I think I’m going to be on my own for a very, very long time, but I’m happy about it. I’m really happy. I love Reg so much, I don’t think I’ve got love for anybody else. For a very long time I thought I needed to find a soulmate, but then I realised when Reg was born that he was all I’d been looking for. I know that sounds cheesy. I’ve never loved anyone so much, so I’m not going to let anybody bugger it up now.

Have you been on any dates? No way. I just haven’t got the time. How would I ever fit someone in? Plus, I’m very particular about who’s around Reggie. If I met anybody, I’d have to date them for about a year or two before introducing them to Reg. I just couldn’t bring anybody into our lives who I don’t know inside out. Would you like to have another baby in the future? It’s one thing I wish I’d stuck around with Terry for. I would love another baby, but we’ve just got things good now and I wouldn’t want to sacrifice it all again. Plus, I really want to see where my career takes me this year. It’s selfish, but now me and Reggie have a really good time together. I go away for four or five days with work here and there, but I’m home with him most of the time. If there’s another baby in the mix, I won’t get to enjoy him as much as I could do. It’s only me and his dad. I’ve got no other form of support, really.

Has Terry been going on dates? I think he has, yeah, but he’s not telling me. How do you feel about him possibly meeting someone new? I know this sounds selfish, but I don’t want someone else playing happy families with my son. I just don’t want it. That’s why we still do family things together. Although we split up, we’re still a family. We’ll always be family. You’ve got to put your differences aside. How’s Reggie doing? I know everyone says this about their kids, but I mean it – he’s highly intelligent and he’s got a really good sense of humour. He’s a wind-up merchant! He’s a cheeky chappie. Going to Sainsbury’s with him is a nightmare. Everyone’s like, “Reggie! Alright, Reg?” and he goes up and hugs everybody. He recognises everybody – he runs up to them before me. He’s a real people person. It’s like hanging around with a celeb!

What kind of things is he doing at the moment? He’s saying, “Mum”, “Dad”. Dada was his first word. At the moment, he’s trying to snog everybody – he sticks his tongue out. He’s very loving. And any women with big tits, he’s loving it. He’s a real booby man! You’ve said you want to lose weight this year. How’s it going so far? I’ll follow the Do The Unthinkable diet plan and lose a stone, but then I’ll go away with work and put it all back on. What’s your target weight? I want to be 12st and I’m 14st 7lb at the minute. I’m a dress size 14-16, but I’m aiming to be a 10 on top and 12 on the bottom. Do you exercise at all? I find the high-intensity stuff works best for me. I recently joined a gym, which has a crèche, so I can leave Reg there and crack on. I’ve been

going most days, but I’ve been counteracting it because I’ve not been eating very well. I want to find the time to do my fitness video again because that was amazing, I lost so much weight doing that. I just need to get up early in the morning and get it out of the way. And I also have to learn how to be a healthy eater so that my exercise really works. What are your food vices? I just love roasts too much. I think whoever invented the roast dinner needs an MBE! I mainly eat nut roasts, but sometimes I’ll have chicken. I only eat meat that I would kill myself. I don’t eat pork. I also love a Thai takeaway – Thai green curry and a pad Thai. I’d like to say I have half one evening and save the other for the next day, but that doesn’t always happen. I’ve been eating a lot of bread recently, too, so that’s my downfall.

Which area of your body do you have to work on the most? My legs – that’s where I carry all my weight. I like my shape on my top half. I can get a small waist and my stomach’s really flat after the tummy tuck [in September 2016], even when I am fat! Do you feel pressure to look good because you’ve done a fitness DVD? To be honest, I did years go, but now I don’t feel any pressure. I want to do it for myself. It’s nice to look presentable, but generally I think social media these days is a really nice place to be. I know some people will disagree, but I find it so liberating and funny. And I get empowered by it. Your This Morning pal Alison Hammond is on Celebs Go Dating. Have you spoken to her about it? She’s amazing, she’s going to be brilliant. I’ve spoken to her a couple of times about it. I want to have a word with the producers on the show so they get some nice dates for her. I want her to go on a date with someone who’s a secret alpha male, someone who is secretly in charge. Who would be Alison’s ideal celeb date? Michael Bublé if he was single. Because she’s so special and it’s hard to find someone with such special energy, it’s hard to think of someone. She’s been amazing to me, she’s my mate. She’s been such a lovely mentor. I always think I’m not worthy and Alison rings me and goes, “Josie, know your worth, you’ve got to know your worth.” And that’s one thing I’ve struggled with. She’s given me loads of tips. Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have also been amazing. Who’s your favourite out of Ruth and Eamonn and Phil and Holly? Oh no, that’s really hard! Ruth and Eamonn are like the aunty and uncle of TV – they look after you. I’ve grown up watching them, so they’ve always been in my life. Holly and Phil, I have real good banter with them. But if I had to pick, it would be Ruth and Eamonn. Now I get to work with them, it’s like winning the lottery. Andi Peters does competitions too. I used to run home from school to watch him. And I’ve worked with Chris Hughes from Love Island. He’s like a young David Brent, he’s so funny. Does Reggie go away on location filming with you? Sometimes, yeah. Not so much on the longer trips, but they’ve been so understanding. The team all look after him. Everyone’s a babysitter!

‘They call me the Bridget Jones of ITV!’

Have you seen Rylan Clark-Neal lately? No, he’s the busiest bloke in showbiz! But I tell you what, he never changes. What do you think about Caroline Flack stepping down from Love Island? It’s such a shame. I’ve met her a few times and she’s always polite. Do you think Laura Whitmore will do a good job as Caroline’s replacement? She’s lovely, yeah. And her bloke Iain Stirling’s on the show, too. It

must be bittersweet for Laura – she must be delighted to get the job, but then it’s under difficult circumstances. Have you had an invite to the NTAs this month? Yes. This year, I might treat myself to a bra [Josie had a wardrobe malfunction at last year’s event] and a dress that doesn’t cost me £22! Things are going well for me at the moment, so I better look the part. They call me the Bridget Jones of ITV! LISA BLAKE

‘BLOCK OUT THE HATERS’ new’s #TurnOffTrolls campaign is great because

it sends out a strong message. Trolling used to affect me but now if it happens I think, if someone has taken time out of their day to write something negative about me, it says more about them than it ever will me. To be honest, I still can’t believe that trolling happens. And now Jake Quickenden is taking a break from social media. I’m so shocked he gets trolled because he is a beautiful person inside and out. Just block out the haters.

dele looked almost unrecognisable as she frolicked on the beach during a recent holiday to Anguilla after shedding a whopping 7st. But while she may currently be relaxing, the singer, 31, has been working extremely hard to get her fab figure. “Adele has expanded her home gym in LA, where she hosts ‘celeb workouts’ with pals like Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone,” a US source told us.

“She does a mix of circuit training, reformer Pilates, yoga, cardio, and the odd SoulCycle class in LA, which Jay Z and Beyoncé are known to attend. She’s even enlisted Bey’s vegan personal trainer Marco Borges.” Adele first unveiled her slimmer figure at Drake’s birthday party last October and has taken up a vegan diet. “She’s given up In-N-Out burgers and fish and chips, and has reduced carbs,” added our insider. “It’s a far cry from the girl who’d knock

swing in LA, no doubt Adele is feeling pressure to look her best – but pals fear she’s taking her weight-loss mission too far. “She’s told friends she believes she can shift an extra stone before the end of February, although she already looks incredible,” our mole said. Adele’s transformation began after her split last Easter from husband Simon Konecki, the father of her seven-year-old son Angelo. Since then, she has slowly shed her famous curves. “She’s been given a new lease of life and wants to try new things,” continued our mole. “But her pals are worried she’s pushing herself too hard and should just enjoy herself rather than pile on any pressure.” You’re great as you are, Adele! ‘I NEED AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN’ Callum Jones, 23, is a scaffolder from Manchester

Describe yourself in three words… Energetic, caring and up for a laugh. How would you rate your looks and what’s your best feature? I would say I’m a nine. My smile is my best feature – I’ve got dimples. What’s your worst habit? I can be lazy at work sometimes. Describe your ideal woman… I always fancy girls with dark hair, tanned skin, red lipstick and white nail polish. Specific! Who’s your celebrity crush? Megan Fox. Which song sums up your love life? La Bouche, Be My Lover. How do you tend to meet potential dates? Online or on a night out. I do prefer it to be organic. Describe your ideal first date… A nice boat cruise down a river and then dinner on a beach with the sun setting in the background. Lovely! What’s a turn-off for you in a girl? Someone who isn’t independent and relies on you to do things for them all of the time. How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the girl you want? I’m prepared to go pretty far to get the girl. Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye? I’d be loyal, definitely. You can look but you can’t touch.

‘LEWIS CAPALDI IS MY EX’ Paige Turley, 22, is a singer from West Lothian in Scotland

What makes you the perfect Islander? I’m naturally flirty – I think it’s nice to flirt, it feels good. I’m from a small village where everyone knows each other or has been an ex of someone. I want to find someone who is different and outside the small village mentality. What’s your worst habit? I’m on my phone constantly, mainly on social media. I feel like I’m not in the room as much as I should be. That’s what I’m going to struggle with the most in the villa, not having my phone. Describe your ideal man… It’s so clichéd, but tall, dark and handsome. He’s got to be quite witty with a bit of banter and something about him. I

like a guy with a strong personality, who knows who he is and what he wants. Which song sums up your love life? Highway To Hell by AC/DC. My dates don’t know what they’re letting themselves in for! What’s a turn-off for you in a guy? Arrogance. I like someone who is confident, but if they’re too much and it’s borderline cocky, I’m not interested. What’s your claim to fame? Lewis Capaldi is my exboyfriend. We went out when we were younger – I was 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals. Tell us a fun fact about you… When I was 14 I was on Britain’s Got Talent as a solo singer and I got to the semifinals.

BUTTON IT, BRI!

BABY DRIVER C Congrats t tto my gorgeous Molly, who passed her driving test! I’m rather excited to have a new chauffeur to drive me around! She got a car from her dad for her 18th and even though she’s mainly based in Ireland for college, I hope she uses it to come to see me. Next step is to get her out on the motorways so she can get used to them. I can’t tell you how proud I am of her – well done baby girl!

COMING UNSTUCK

I don’t take much notice of reports that my ex, Brian, had a dig at me about the number of weddings I’ve had. That’s just Brian for you – trying to be funny, but being a bit of a dick in the process! He said that our daughters have “been bridesmaids for their mother about five times already so they’re probably sick of it,” and added, “They must be thinking, ‘Not another f**king wedding!’” Er, you’re on your third one now, love – we’re equal! And for the record, Brian’s been engaged more times than I have, too! But I’m not bothered – he’s right, the girls probably are sick of weddings. Molly’s been to all of mine. But I’ve no doubt they’ll support their dad 100 per cent when he walks down the aisle again.

In case you missed it, I had an absolute shocker last week when Max decided to put Super Glue in Heidi and DJ’s hair. The whole debacle meant the girls missed their first day back at school while I desperately figured out a way to remove it. I thought at one point I’d have to take them to A&E! In the end, dry shampoo and baby oil did the trick, but not before I’d cried myself to sleep with worry. As a result, Max is grounded for the rest of his life. He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was younger and there’s no question he’s challenging. But doing this to his sisters was a step too far – they could have been blinded and he needs to know it’s not acceptable.

TOP TIP

I llove the h ffact Ad Adele l lleft f a waiter £1,500 at a recent meal. In my day I’d think nothing of tipping £200 to £300 – I was a millionaire and absolutely minted, don’t forget. And I wouldn’t have been doing it as a good deed – knowing me I would’ve been showing off like a little prick! But celebs can’t win – if you don’t tip you’re tight, if you do you’re a show-off. Adele did a lovely thing and that waiter would have been over the moon. Good on her.

DON’T GO TOO FAR, CHAR!

Charlotte Crosby, currently appearing on the Australian I’m A Celeb, said her lips look like a “baboon’s arse” – and she’s not wrong. Charlotte’s great entertainment, but I wish she’d stop messing with her face as it looks fragile. She’s obviously got hang-ups about her appearance and that’s sad, but please stop! Her face looks like it’s got stuck between two lift doors – she looks a bit like a cross-eyed fish. I’m not trying to be mean – she knows what she looks like and she owns it – but she looked so much better before her surgery. Maybe therapy is the answer instead of more procedures?

Katie took Harvey to Thailand With Princess last month

atie Price pulled out all the stops to impress her ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson as she paraded her bikini body during a sun-soaked holiday. Just days before she flew to Las Vegas, she was spotted sunbathing in Thailand, where the couple enjoyed a romantic break last year. “Katie’s been flaunting her figure in an effort to show Kris what he’s missing,” revealed our mole. “She’s lost weight, she looks toned and she knows that’s what he likes. It’s all a show for him.” As new reported last week, Katie, 41, has been feeling increasingly “bored” since their split before Christmas and, while she was hoping her stint abroad would result in a holiday romance, she’s now pining for the personal trainer. “She’s desperate for another husband and, having taken time out in Thailand, she’s convinced herself Kris is the man,” continued our insider. But it sounds like Katie has got her work cut out as, according to our well-placed mole, Kris, 31, has blocked her online following a huge row last month, which ended their 18-month relationship. “Kris has blocked Katie, so she’s gone through a mutual friend in an effort to get in touch with him again,” continued the source. “She realises she

She really believes Kris will take her back, but her mates would be very surprised if he did.” However, Kris isn’t the only man in her life who she needs to get back onside. Our insider says her estranged husband Kieran Hayler, 32, is furious with her for not seeing their children Jett, six, and Bunny, five. “She’s been away from them for almost three weeks and Kieran’s fuming,” our source added. “He can’t understand why she didn’t come straight back from Thailand to be with them. It seems like all she can think about is Kris and getting him back.” Time will tell if Katie’s plan works out… Karmel Doughty

A lot of love went into it, but I’m not surprised he didn’t eat it. It’s a bit tough,” she said. As well as revealing her dodgy culinary skills, VB hinted at her gruelling fitness regime. EXTRA CAMP GETS THE CHOP

It’s sad news for fans of I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp as ITV has axed the long-running spin-off show. Losing your job in January isn’t the best start to year, so hats off to the three hosts for taking the news so well. In a hilarious Instagram post, Adam Thomas wrote, “OK so this isn’t awkward... imagine your first ever presenting role on a show that’s been running for years... you do one show and it gets cancelled!!” The 31-year-old then joked that he’s “free for panto”. His co-presenters were just as good-humoured. Sharing a video with fans, Emily Atack, 30, said, “Adam Thomas is blaming himself, which is making me piss myself!” while Joel Dommett, 34, quipped, “I’ve told them that Adam will do it for free!” We’re going to miss you guys!

MICHELLE ‘I’VE COME SO FAR!’

She played a stripper in Hustlers and now J.Lo, 50, has revealed she considered the career herself in the early days. “My friends, who were also dancers, told me about making thousands of dollars at clubs in New Jersey. It sounded awfully good when I was broke and eating pizza every day, but I never did it,” she said.

LEO DICAPRIO He may have come a cropper in Titanic, but Leo, 45, was hailed a hero for rescuing a drowning man in the Caribbean. A source said the poor fella had “survived by treading water for 11 hours”, adding, “Leo’s boat was the only vessel looking for him.”

PETER KAY It’s been 17 years since Phoenix Nights ended, but star of the show Peter, 46, has revealed a film could be on the cards. “People always ask, ‘Will there be more Phoenix Nights?’ And I can now confirm there won’t – but I am thinking of a film,” he said.

Michelle Keegan amused fans by sharing a photo of herself from 10 years ago – but while her pout may be plumper, her fashion sense is pretty much the same! The Our Girl star, 32, posted the throwback snap of herself wearing a tracksuit along with a near-identical pic from this year. “You don’t realise how far you’ve come until you look back… 10 years apart. Been reppin since day 1! @adidas,” she wrote alongside the photos.

GEM ‘PLEASE DATE MY COUSIN!’ She’s a reality star, business owner and all-round diva icon, so it’s no surprise Gemma Collins is now trying her hand at matchmaking! The GC, 38, introduced her followers to her 49-year-old cousin Matthew Killen on her Instagram Stories and told prospective dates he has “no children or tattoos” and “a few quid in the bank”. Enthusing about the singleton, she gushed, “This guy is looking for serious true love. I want to brighten his life. He’s handsome as hell and nothing wrong with him.” Forget Laura Whitmore, they should’ve got you presenting Love Island, Gem!

I cherish that a lot.” We’re keen to talk to Anton, 24, about the show’s new host, Laura Whitmore, after she took over from Caroline Flack following her arrest for assault by beating. to date!’

He’s firm friends with Belle

Hi Anton! What do you make of Laura Whitmore as the new Love Island presenter? First and foremost, Caroline Flack is absolutely amazing. When you think of Love Island, you think about Caroline, so whatever’s happened has happened and I wish her all the best. In regards to Laura, she’s a great host who goes hand-in-hand with Iain Stirling as part of ITV2. I wish her all the best and I’m sure she’ll absolutely smash it. Have you been dating much since Love Island? No, I’ve been too busy, to be honest. When myself and Belle came out of the villa, we realised things weren’t going to work out. That’s why I didn’t want to make her my girlfriend, because I knew when I came out it was going to be a completely different life. I did 75 personal appearances in 90 days and it was mad, but we still talk pretty much every single day. You’re still good friends, then… Yeah, myself, Joe, Belle, Elma and a few of the other Islanders went for dinner last week. We couldn’t be closer, actually. Sometimes it’s hard with exes, but we both respect the journey we went on. We can speak to each other if one of us is going through a hard time. We phone each other up and it’s amazing.

Island, but it was never my goal to be a reality star. My goal was always just to use my platform and get back into fitness, which is my passion. Love Island has given me a platform and if the right show comes about that could boost my platform to a different range of people, like I’m A Celeb, which has an older audience, I would never turn that down. But my ultimate goal is to help as many people as possible. Why did you decide to create your own fitness app? I started my own fitness business when I was 17 with just two people doing a bootcamp in a field. And just before Love Island I had built it up to a fully equipped gym, with over 200 members. When I came out the demand for joining the gym was unbelievable and I didn’t have the capacity for it. So instead we decided to create an app where we can help thousands of people. Tell us more about it… I wanted it to be a personal trainer in your pocket. You go into the website, you type in what sex, age and height you are, then you get the programme on your app. It comes with a free meal plan, which was developed between me and my nutritionist. The plans have been tried and tested over the years by my clients. We’ll be in contact with the people who sign up daily and we update the workouts as we go along. Joe Swash & Stacey Solomon

Dancing On Ice star Joe has sparked rumours he’s secretly tied the knot with long-term girlfriend Stacey. While making his debut on the ice, Joe, 37, was spotted wearing a ring on his wedding finger, setting tongues wagging that he’d married the Loose Women panellist on the quiet. After splitting from her fiancé Chris Zylka in November 2018, Paris has finally bagged herself a new man. The 38-year-old socialite was seen packing on the PDAs with businessman Carter, also 38, at the Warner Bros & InStyle Golden Globes afterparty, before leaving together. “They’ve been seeing each other for a little over a month,” a source revealed. “They’re very happy together… everyone is saying what a great couple they make.” We really hope Carter is The One, Paris!

The couple were previously rumoured to have got hitched after Stacey, 30, posted a family snap from the Maldives in November, prompting fans to speculate they’d had a beach wedding. Stacey and Joe began dating in 2015 and their son, Rex, will turn one next month. He’d definitely make a cute pageboy!

Actress Chloë is expecting her first child with art gallery director Siniša, with her rep confirming that the baby is due in the spring. Although she’s kept mum about the news, the American Horror Story star, 45, was snapped out and about in New York last week in a figure-hugging dress that clearly showed off her growing bump. WWE star Nikki has announced she’s engaged to former Strictly pro Artem. Nikki, 36, revealed he actually popped the question two months ago, telling fans, “Excited for 2020 and the next decade with you @theartemc – I said yes in France in November! “We have been trying to keep it secret but really wanted to share our excitement for the new year!” Meanwhile, Artem, 37, gushed, “I love you more than anything and thank you for saying yes.” The pair met on Dancing With The Stars in 2017, when Nikki was engaged to fellow wrestler John Cena. Blue singer Lee has been making sweet music with Ariana Grande tribute artist Verity. The pair were pictured hand in hand while shopping in London’s Notting Hill, then later had a cute cuddle as they waited for a taxi. Verity – whose real name is Verity Morley – calls herself an “international vocalist” on social media and auditioned for The X Factor in 2009. On her Instagram, she can be seen donning Ari’s trademark ponytail in pictures. Lee, 36, has had a colourful love life. He ended his engagement to Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon in 2003, was involved in a love triangle with Jasmine Waltz and Casey Batchelor on CBB in 2014, and last August he starred on Celebs Go Dating, but failed to find The One. It looks like this new romance is the closest we’re going to get to a Blue and Ariana duet!

Shirley Ballas & Daniel Taylor

After dating comedian Pete Davidson last year, Kate has sparked rumours she’s now hooked up with his pal Machine Gun Kelly. The actress, 46, hung out at three Golden Globes afterparties, and was later seen getting into a car with the 29-year-old rapper – real name Richard Colson Baker – outside the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood. “They had friends with them, but the two of them sat together in the back and seemed very friendly,” said a source. Coincidentally, Kate – who has since branded the romance rumours “ridiculous”– and her ex Pete met at Netflix’s Golden Globes afterparty a year ago. The pair dated for four months before splitting in May 2019.

Head Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley has revealed she and boyfriend Daniel have discussed adopting a child. “We’re in the realms of talking about that over the last six months,” said Shirley, 59. “If you can give a home to a child who’s been in care for such a long time, I think it’s very important.” Shirley and Daniel, 47, met when they were both starring in a Jack And The Beanstalk panto production at the Liverpool Empire in 2018. They went public with their relationship last March.

I wasn’t interested in going out with boys until I turned 18, because I was really sporty and I always had after-school plans. I met my first boyfriend when I was 18 and we didn’t really go on a proper date. I’ve never been on a blind date either.

HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED HEARTBREAK? I have. It’s literally the worst thing, but you do get over it. Time is the biggest healer. You’ve just got to make sure you’ve got all your friends around you.

WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU IN A RELATIONSHIP?

Loyalty is the main thing and having the same family values. I want to get married and have a family. They’ve got to make me laugh. Dan [Edgar] is so funny, but no one ever sees it. I’m constantly laughing when I’m with him.

HOW DID YOU KNOW DAN WAS THE ONE? I’ve been told by quite a few people that our star signs are really compatible. We get on so well – we’re like best friends as well as being in a relationship. We’ve been through so much and we wouldn’t have gone through all this for nothing.

WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOUR PAST RELATIONSHIPS TAUGHT YOU? Be honest and open about how you’re feeling. Don’t stay with someone because you feel bad. Don’t let someone tell you what you can and can’t do. Be your own person.

Drink everything. I had a friend once who didn’t make it to her fifties and her biggest regret was she spent her life on a diet. I don’t diet.” You’re a girl after our own hearts, Amanda!

‘Harry’s arse is like marble!’ McFly’s pretty bassist Dougie Poynter talks bandmates, babies and being a reluctant gym bunny

W

e were thrilled when McFly announced they are getting back together for a whopping arena tour this spring, so when we catch up with the charttopping group’s bassist Dougie Poynter at the premiere of his new flick, The Host, we’re keen to get all the goss. “McFly is the best job in the world. I love it!” he gushes when we chat to him at London’s The May Fair hotel. As well as his successful music career, the 32-year-old is loved-up with model Maddy Elmer. He’s coy when we grill him about his relationship, but Dougie is more than happy to reminisce about working with Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine in 2006 film Just My Luck. “I bump into Chris every now and again. He hasn’t changed – he’s exactly the same dude,” he says. Here, Dougie dishes the dirt on his bandmates and discusses Harry Judd’s best asset…

Yeah. We did a show on 20 November and took the whole of December off. Even having that gap, I’m like, “So does anyone want to go to the gym or something?” It’s what everyone would want in a job. We all get on. We bicker every now and then, but like a family would.

What do you bicker about? Usually the set lists. The rad thing is it’s not a selfish thing, it’s about what we think other people want. It’s not full-on arguments.

Have your original fans stuck with you?

At the premiere of Just My Luck

Dougie is still in touch with Chris Pine

Yeah, and some of them have gone on and multiplied and brought their kids along. I’m really honoured to be one of these nostalgic acts. I’m pretty stoked that I’m 32 and still get to play The O2 arena. Our manager always said when we had our first number ones, “Celebrate now, but celebrate

when you’ve been a band for 10 years.” It’s been 16 years.

Do the four of you still go wild on tour?

McFly were huge with teenage girls. Do you still have a big female fanbase? It’s mixed now. Back in the day it was predominantly female, which we weren’t complaining about.

It’s not really wild, but it’s stupid. We’re pretty hyperactive and just disgusting boys. But we love doing what we do so much that we get the right amount of sleep so the show is good. We keep ourselves healthy and fit. ourse

What’s been your craziest fan moment over the years?

Yeah, it’s all good.

Do you yo go to the gym much?

Do you get to spend much time together?

Twice a week – I’m not mad on it.

We see each other a lot – probably more than if I had a regular nine to five.

His ar arse is like marble. If you go to a museum m and poke one of the st statue’s arses, that’s what it feels like. He clenches 24/7.

It’s a thriller and you never know what’s going to happen next. It can be gory, but it’s fun. I play the brother of the lead guy and I have to look out for him, because he’s a bit of a wreckhead.

Hi Dougie! You seem really happy with your girlfriend Maddy…

Did you miss being part of the band during your three-year break?

Harry is…

Does she come to your gigs?

Wo you say you’re still Would “th shy one” of the band? “the

Yeah, she’s always there.

The other McFly lads are settled down with kids. Is that something you want? Yes, of course. One day. It’s always in everyone’s sights, isn’t it? But when it happens, it happens.

With his girlfriend Maddy

Yo could look at it like You Y tthat. I’ve been known as tthe shy one for so long, but no one has ever thought, “Maybe the other guys love talking.”

Touring South America. They’d chase us in our cars and we’d be like, “How can you be passionate about us? We’re a bunch of nerds.”

Tell us about The Host…

Would you like to take on more acting roles? Maybe if they came up, but at the moment it’s just McFly. We’ve just started recording the new album. GEMMA MCCARTNEY The Host is released in cinemas on 17 April

Former Coronation Street actress Helen will get hitched to footballer Scott Sinclair later this year, but it sounds like she’s still got some organising to do! Last year, she admitted, “We know we’re going to get married next year, but we still don’t have a venue booked. I’m really picky and I’m looking for something perfect.” Helen, 29, and Scott, 30, have been together since 2009 and got engaged in May 2018 at Disneyland Paris. They are parents to Matilda, four, and 19-month-old Delilah. Bet you can’t wait for the big day, Helen!

OLIVIA ATTWOOD TOWIE favourite Olivia recently opened up about her impending nuptials to Bradley Dack. “Brad wants to get married literally this summer. He wants to run me down the aisle. I think it’s in case I change my mind,” she said on the ITVBe reality show. Blackburn Rovers footballer Brad, 26, proposed to the reality TV star during a holiday in Dubai. Olivia, 28, wrote on Instagram at the time, “He must be crazy… Here’s to forever. I love you BD.” The couple have been dating on and off for four years, but while they were apart Olivia had a seven-month relationship with Chris Hughes in 2017 after they met on Love Island.

NEWSFLASH

LUCY MECKLENBURGH

It’s a big year ahead for former TOWIE star Lucy and her fiancé Ryan Thomas as the pair are set to become parents to a boy next month. They’re also planning their wedding after getting engaged during a romantic Italian holiday last June. Sharing a photo showing off her diamond sparkler, Lucy, 28, revealed the happy news on Instagram with the caption, “I said YES!” Lucy and Ryan, 35, hosted a glamorous engagement party on a boat on the River Thames, with a six-tier cake, balloon arches and a DJ set, so we have high expectations for the wedding!

PRINCESS BEATRICE Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter and businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will be getting married in early June, according to a royal insider. Announcing their engagement in a statement last September, the couple said, “We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.” Beatrice, 31, and father-of-one Edoardo, 36, began dating in 2018. Hooray to another royal knees-up!

They shared this snap to announce their engagement

AMY DOWDEN

ALISON KING

Her soap character Carla Connor has had some turbulent relationships, but happily Alison’s off-screen love life is worlds away from that of her Coronation Street counterpart. The 46-year-old actress announced she was engaged to her boyfriend, IT salesman David Stuckley, 36, last September after he proposed

during a romantic sunset cruise in Portugal – with a ring he’d designed himself. Swoon! “I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going, ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened,’” Alison revealed. Well, at least the bespoke sparkler was still a surprise!

Strictly professional Amy is getting hitched to dancer Ben Jones in the summer – with fellow Strictly stars Dianne Buswell and Oti Mabuse as her bridesmaids. “Today is all about the big day,” the star, 28 – who made it to the final with partner Karim Zeroual in the last series – captioned a photo of herself with her fiancé last year. “At the venue and so excited!!!! Now we need to get organised – send our save the date and start the count down!!!! #summer2020 #wedding #happy #excited #cantwait #love.” Ben popped the question at a party on New Year’s Eve 2017.

The night before, we asked her where she’d like to go for a family meal and she chose Wagamama. She’s the kind of kid who, if you tell her she’s allowed to pick one treat at the supermarket, she’ll choose a punnet of strawberries over sweets. I just love her! Emily was actually OK about Mills getting another year older, but found it hard saying bye to Theo when we dropped him off for his first morning at nursery last Wednesday. I think it’s going to take them both a while to get used to it.

all his suits swamped me. I had no choice but to wear one and do the interviews, though!

Oz needs our help At the time of writing my column, the Australian wildfires were still ravaging many parts of my home country, with the number of animals killed topping an estimated one billion. And let’s not forget the loss of human lives, devastation to the land and people’s homes and the inevitable terrible effect it will have on Australia’s ecosystem. Friends and family over there have sent me videos and it’s beyond horrific. Like many, we, as a family, have donated and set up donation pages, but I’d like to say a huge thank you to the brave firefighters and volunteers who are risking their lives to help others. While the likes of Sir Elton John, Pink, Chris Hemsworth and Kylie Minogue have all been incredibly generous with their money pledges, we must remember every bit MY VIE helps, so whether you can ON W THE afford £1 or £10,000, please NEW S give anything you can.

Junior vowed to give up fizzy drinks in January and, so far, he’s actually stuck to it. He wants to start getting more serious about his training in the gym, so I said to him before Christmas he needs to cut down on the amount of sugary drinks, like Coca Cola, that he loves. I don’t know how long he’ll give it up for, but even if he does a week he’ll prove to himself he can do it. I’ve actually given up chocolate and biscuits which, at the time of writing my column, is going OK. I think it’s because I ate my body weight in them before going cold turkey! Plus, I had that bug that’s been going round last week so I didn’t have much of an appetite.

Prudish Piers

Piers Morgan has made no secret of how much he loathes Love Island, so I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard he’d threatened to cut his three sons out of his will if they ever took part in the show. Unlike Piers, I like watching Love Island, but I do get where he’s coming from – I’ve already told Bista that unless she gets approached to do a show about nuns, she won’t ever be doing anything like that. And Junior sometimes asks if I’d let him go on, but I’ve said no way – unless he’s the host, not a contestant. Listen, I know the day will come when they make their own decisions and won’t listen to their dad, but until then I’ll do my best to guide them into making the right choices.

PHOTOS: BBC Breakfast/PA Wire, Getty

Good ol’ Stormzy recently appeared on BBC Breakfast wearing his slippers. When the host pointed out his odd choice of footwear, the rapper explained he’d been busy with signings and didn’t realise he’d forgotten his trainers until he was in the car on the way to the interview. Something similar happened to me when I was co-hosting The One Show with Alex Jones. I’d been busy during the day and totally forgot to pack my suit. So before going on air, I had to rifle through former host Matt Baker’s wardrobe – but because he’s taller than me,

GO ON, SON!

But it didn’t stop and a few hours later I got painful cramps. I told Chris and we managed to get an appointment at the hospital for the next day. The bleeding got heavier as the night went on and in my heart I knew what they’d say in the morning. Still, when the sonographer did the scan and said sadly, “I can’t see anything left there,” I broke down. This was Bethany’s brother or sister. I had names planned and suddenly it was all gone. Chris tried to be strong for me, but he was just as upset. We tried to pull ourselves together, but we never really spoke about it. I was terrified of trying again because I felt so bad – not just for myself, but because of the pain it would cause Chris, my mum Eileen and my dad Kenny. Bethany meeting her baby brother “We can’t go through that again,” I thought.

58

“Congratulations,” said the sonographer, as we saw our baby’s heartbeat. “Everything is as it should be.” But the bleeding didn’t stop. I asked for another scan and a few days later I went with Mum, only to discover the baby’s heartbeat had stopped. “We shouldn’t have tried again,” I sobbed. We came home to let the baby pass and while I was in the shower, he or she did – just a tiny scrap. I couldn’t let my baby go down the drain, so I wrapped them in a tissue and took them to my Nana Eileen’s grave and lay my little one in her loving arms forever. Chris, Bethany and I wrote messages of love on a balloon and watched it soar into the sky. Chris and I decided to try again regardless and I got pregnant immediately. I was anxious, but I tried to keep calm for the baby’s sake. After 10 weeks – further than I’d gone before – I started to feel hopeful. But then coming up to Halloween 2017, I went to the toilet and there was a tiny streak of blood. “Don’t panic,” I told myself. On 1 November, I went with Mum for the scan. I’d convinced myself everything was going to be alright, but I screamed when they said there was no heartbeat. All my hopes and dreams were over – again. “Whatever you want, I’ll go along with,” Chris said when I phoned him. At this stage of pregnancy I needed surgery to remove my baby and the week I had to wait for the procedure was a dark time. “Should we try again or just call it a day?” I wondered. It wasn’t just me who felt traumatised. My whole family was being upset by our quest for another child.

‘I wanted Bethany to be a sister’

REAL LIFE Chris with his expanding family

Helena with Matthew soon after the birth

The operation was scheduled for 7 November. I told Chris to go for his early shift and that I’d go with Mum to hospital. He left, but later that morning I woke in excruciating pain. It turned out my baby had got stuck in my cervix. They put me to sleep straight away and when I woke up everything had gone, leaving me feeling numb and exhausted. I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage unit and was put on a high dose of folic acid and a low dose of aspirin, which thins your blood. I got pregnant for the fifth time in February 2018 at the age of 39. Again, it happened effortlessly, but could I carry the baby? I wanted another one so badly and for Bethany to be a sister. Because of my history I had a scan at six weeks. I went by myself, not daring to share it. A tiny heartbeat was visible and I sent Chris a photo on my phone.

Then came a nine-week scan. Everything was fine and the baby was growing. I allowed myself to feel more confident and told myself to just take things day by day. We told Bethany because she’s a clever girl and had twigged I was expecting because I was being sick.

At the birth, he got stuck for 20 minutes and it felt like a lifetime. “Oh God. This can’t happen – not again,” I gasped. Finally, I heard my baby cry and instantly knew he was fine. When Chris laid him next to me it was the most amazing feeling. We’d chosen his name, Matthew, which means gift FAMILY OF FOUR from God. And he really is. ‘Self love is a journey – it doesn’t happen overnight’ Love Island star Malin Andersson, 27, on being comfortable in her own skin, her favourite exercise and ditching meat from her diet HEIGHT 5FT 7IN

WEIGHT 10½-11ST DRESS SIZE 12

Hi Malin! Do you feel body confident? One million per cent! Self-love is a journey – it doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve gone from weighing myself every day to stopping myself from doing stupid skinny teas, being obsessed with my weight and getting surgery. I’m now completely comfortable in my own skin. It’s taken about six years. It’s not an easy journey, but you can get there. How often do you exercise? A few times a week. I do for my mental health, not to look good. It’s not a priority, I just do it when I can fit it in. What’s your workout regime? I do yoga and I love running outdoors because of the fresh air. What’s your favourite part of your body? Probably my bum. I love the shape of it – it’s nice and pert. Are you a healthy eater? Yeah, I am actually. I never used to be, but I’m on a mainly pescatarian diet now. My diet is just seafood and vegetarian, which I’ve been doing for about four months. I try to eat vegan as much as I can, but I can’t do it full-time. Restricting myself makes me want other foods more.

What’s your guilty pleasure? I love cheese! I’m obsessed with cheese and red wine. I love it. My favourites are Camembert and Stilton.. Have you tried any diets in the past? Oh yeah, I’ve tried everything – Cambridge diet, Atkins diet, the lemonade diet. None of them worked for me – they’re artificial and short-term. I think diets promote binge eating and eating disorders. They’re not healthy. Does being in the public eye make you feel under more pressure to look good? Not any more. I don’t care about other people’s opinions of me. I wouldn’t be putting my cellulite out on social media if I did. What’s your top healthy tip? gry, Listen to your body. When you’re hungry, feed it. Don’t avoid your body’s signalss ’ll and when you’re full, stop eating. You’ll soon get in tune with your body. Malin is promoting Bliss Sanctuary y for Women, blisssanctuaryforwomen.com

Instead, I was a laughing my new life in a new city. From stock and I just wanted the ground to swallow me up. The men crowded around Chrystal-Sky my friends, while I stood on is much happier the side alone. “We’ve left with her size the fat friend behind,” I heard one of the boys say. I felt like someone had stabbed me in the chest. Later that night, back at home, I squeezed a pyjama top over my bulging belly and got into bed, then cried myself to sleep.

then on, most nights I’d chow down on a large pepperoni pizza. Other times I’d polish off curries and lasagnes for dinner, then head out clubbing five nights a week with my new friends. There, I’d guzzle 20 vodka Red Bulls a night. I knew my lifestyle was unhealthy, but I put it down to being a typical student. Before long, my size 14 clothes were starting to pinch, but I continued to binge eat and drink excessively. By the end of my first year in June 2016, I’d put on 3st. Four months later, I moved to Paris to study French and my bad eating habits got worse. Every day, I scoffed Brie, Camembert, Emmental and every other cheese you can think of and washed it all down with large glasses of red wine. Before I knew it, my legs, arms and stomach had become huge. I couldn’t fit into any of my jeans and was forced to wear size 22 leggings every day. By July 2017, I’d ballooned to 21st and hated my body. When I returned to the UK, I was miserable with my size. The nights out continued, but strangers’ cruel comments

got worse. “She’s so fat,” one man said, nodding his head at me. “Ignore them! You’re absolutely beautiful,” my friends reassured me. “No, they’re right,” I mumbled. “Don’t ever say that, you aren’t fat,” they cried, hugging me. I loved my friends for trying to cheer me up, but it only made me feel worse. Horrified, I continued to wash down spirits mixed with sugary drinks at the bar to drown my sorrows. In May 2018, I went shopping with my mates Molly, 19, Chris, 23, and Laura, 23, for a new outfit. I tried on a T-shirt, but my head got stuck in it. I was mortified. “I can’t fit this over my head,” I yelled from the changing room. I was fooling myself trying to get into a size 18 top when, in reality, I was a size 26. But the store didn’t stock bigger sizes and I desperately wanted to fit in. Suddenly, I burst into tears. “Let us in, Chrystal-Sky!” the girls said, banging on the door. But I refused and cried in the cubicle for two hours. After that, I became a recluse. “I don’t feel well,” I lied to Lucy on a Saturday night. I couldn’t bear to deal with men’s horrible

comments and people staring at my body. I felt huge next to my friends, who were all sizes 6 to 12. Eventually, I’d had enough and knew I needed to make a change. One afternoon in June 2018, I phoned my mum in a flood of tears.

TURNING THE CORNER

“I hate my life, I can’t go on like this any more,” I sobbed. “I need to lose weight.” I could hear Mum’s heartbreak over the phone. “Darling, I’m going to help you get through this,” she wept with me. The next day, Mum took me to a Slimming World group. Walking in, I’d never felt more terrified. “The first thing you’ve done is stepping through these doors,” the consultant said, smiling. Suddenly, I felt at ease. I soon swapped greasy takeaways for fresh meat, fish and vegetables. I mixed vodka with diet lemonade instead of sugary energy drinks and I deleted all the takeaway numbers on my phone. I was determined to turn my life around. I started cooking every meal from scratch. Within six months, I lost 4st – I couldn’t believe it. More motivated than ever, I even joined a local gym. It was tough at first, but when I noticed the weight starting to fall off faster, it spurred me on. Soon I was going five times a week. Everyone began to notice. “You look amazing ChrystalSky!” fellow students told me.

Even strangers complimented me. “You look gorgeous,” a woman on campus said to me. I had so much energy and felt happy for the first time in my adult life. Evenings of hiding at home were soon behind me and I began to hit the clubs again – this time wearing a size 14 dress. One night, a good-looking blond man approached me and my friends. Sipping on my drink, I wondered which of my mates he’d flirt with. But he smiled at me. “You’re stunning,” he said. “Are you single?” My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it. For the first time in years, I was the one being hit on. My mates were grinning next to me. Although I told him I wasn’t interested, it was the confidence boost I’d never had before. I’m now dating a new boyfriend – Stephen Hathway, 21 – who I met in university at the start of December. Since joining Slimming World 18 months ago, I’ve lost 7st 10lb and I’m down to 13st 4lb. I achieved it in just over a year. I now love my slinky size 12 body and when I go shopping with the girls, I can wear whatever I want. All the “fat” jibes have also stopped. Men no longer laugh and point at me. Instead, they ask for my number. I’ve not only got myself a new body, I’ve become a completely new person and I couldn’t be happier. CANDICE FERNANDEZ

became a mum, Binky’s still in the spotlight, with 1.4 million Instagram followers who enjoy her candid posts on motherhood, her honest fitness journey and cute pictures of India. She’s also been focusing on her business interests. After relying on babysitting app Bubble when she needed help looking after India, Binky’s now become an investor in the company. She says that finding child-free time to exercise has been a big factor in her postnatal recovery – even if it meant doing a workout video at home while a sitter took care of India in another room. “I wouldn’t be able to get to the gym without having a Bubble sitter to look after India. Every mum deserves space and time to exercise and, as we all know, planning is key. Set aside that 30 minutes after your partner gets home to go for a run or book a regular slot at the gym’s crèche. Everything else will fall into place.” Binky’s own experience of early motherhood inspired her to start the Mummy Tribe, a health and fitness retreat for mothers, and she recently announced she’s writing a book on postnatal exercise and nutrition with best friend and personal trainer Lulu Adams. She’s keen to help new mums learn how to exercise safely and advises every woman who’s feeling ready to start or return to exercise after having a baby to begin slowly and get signed off by a specialist physio first. “If you’ve had a baby, it’s so important to strengthen your pelvic floor before starting exercise. It’s the first thing we talk about at Mummy Tribe. Seeing a women’s health physio is worth every penny. Many women feel intimidated by the thought of an internal examination but, honestly, it’s fine.” Binky is an investor in the Bubble babysitting app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. ‘I CRIED LIKE A LITTLE GIRL!’ Ibiza Weekender lothario Jordan Davies on showing his emotional side now he’s a changed man

H

WORDS: Sarah Morton

e’s got a welldeserved reputation for being a bedhopping ladies’ man but, much to our surprise, Jordan Davies has revealed he’s now monogamous! Sorry, girls, but Jord has found love with former rep Isobel Mills – and it’s serious! The 27-year-old returns for the new series of ITV2’s Ibiza Weekender this week, this time as the guest satisfaction manager (ooh-er!), so he’ll basically be responsible for welcoming guests to the hotel for nights of wild partying and days of glorious sunbathing. He joins the four other reps – Callum, Tash, Riva and Jaden – overseen by returning head rep, David. “I want to prove to everyone you can do this job in a happy relationship and that you don’t

72

Jordan took Isobel to Paris

have to get with other people just to be a good rep,” the reformed bad boy insists. Here, Jordan talks romantic gestures and staying loyal, and dishes the dirt on his fellow reps ahead of the new series…

TV Q&A

Hi Jordan! How did you deal with the female attention, now you’re spoken for? A few girls did try it on with me and obviously I completely rejected them in a nice, positive way! For me, what was more shocking was when it came to rating the reps, the girl guests were giving me better scores than I’ve ever had before. I reckon it was because they were liking me for me. Maybe it was because they realised I have a girlfriend and they knew I wasn’t hitting on them and that I was speaking to them because I wanted to speak to them. For me it was such a nice feeling – I was getting the best response I’ve ever had off girls, just for being me. Because of that, I got a bit emotional at times. In fact during this series I cry a lot. So, expect to see a lot of emotional Jordan!

The reps weren’t always well behaved

Was this the longest time you’ve been apart from Isobel? Yes, and when you’re doing this job you haven’t got your phone 24/7 so talking to each other is more restricted. It was hard, but we made it work. What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done for her? I took her to Paris on her birthday and it was our year anniversary as well. Aw! David gave you the job of guest satisfaction manager – what does that entail? It meant I got to do anything in any shape or form to keep guests happy. So, if they wanted me to get a tattoo, I’d have to go and get a tattoo, otherwise they wouldn’t be satisfied. That was the worst thing I had to do, as I hate needles. The tattoo is on the back of my ankle. The guests got to witness it and me crying like a little girl, but you’ve got to do

what you’ve got to do to keep them satisfied. That was my dedication to the job. What do you think of the new reps, Jaden and Riva? They were great, but this series there was a lot of drama and a lot of rep relationships that shouldn’t have happened. If I hadn’t been there, it would have all fallen apart. Ooh. Tell us more… Let’s just say Callum and Tash were not the most well behaved together when they were in Ibiza. Callum was getting with Riva and Jaden with Tash, so when this secret about Callum and Tash came out, you can imagine it wasn’t the nicest of environments to be in, especially when you have guests to look after. That’s why I said I saved the day, as if it wasn’t for me it would have been a disaster. The reps were treating it a bit too much like a holiday and

The last show I binge-watched was the new series of Watchmen on Amazon Prime. I’m hooked on that right now. It’s brilliant. My guilty pleasure is Take Me Out. I watch it in the newsroom on a Saturday night. We all do. It’s very good. It’s a great antidote to the news. My dream co-star would have to be Henry Cavill – he is Superman after all! I’d happily play Lois Lane if he was back in that role. The last album I downloaded was the latest Hot Chip one called A Bath Full Of Ecstasy. Apparently it was at the top of my Spotify playlist last year. The show I never miss is First Dates. I love it and I love Fred Sirieix. I’ve watched a lot of it, including the First Dates Hotel spin-off. The best movie ever made has to be Jaws. It’s a classic. I love horror movies. It should have won the best film Oscar as far as I’m concerned. It’s so iconic. It’s one of those movies I have to watch if it’s on telly.

Home And Away legend Ray Meagher gives us the goss on Alf and Martha’s reunion

H

e’s been playing loveable grump Alf Stewart in Home And Away for an astonishing 32 years – and actor Ray Meagher is showing no sign of slowing down any time soon. In fact, the 75year-old, who underwent a triple heart bypass op just months ago, is back in Summer Bay following his road trip with Martha. To clarify – Martha is Alf’s first wife, who faked her own death in the 80s and waltzed back into his and their daughter Roo Roo’ss life last year. She’s now w set to ving move in with Alf, giving plenty of material for or Ray o. to sink his teeth into. We caught up with th him eps to find out what keeps d him on the soap and what he thinks of itss famous alumni… You’ve played Alf for 32 years. Are you the longest serving actor in Australia? or I think I have been for be? over ten years maybe?

The apps I use most are Spotify and LBC Global Radio. My karaoke classic is Like A Prayer by Madonna. I’m very happy to belt that out on a night out. On my bookshelf is a combination of old law books that I never read any more and science fiction books, which are a bit of a passion of mine. Dancing on Ice is on Sundays at 6pm on ITV

Alf dishes out advice to Roo and Ryder

At one point Kate Ritchie [who played Sally Fletcher] and Norman Coburn [Donald Fisher] and my good self shared that title. Kate and I used to say, “If we can just get rid of Coburn!” Over the years you’ve worked with lots of actors who’ve become Hollywood stars, such as Isla Fisher and Chris Hemsworth. What were they like on set? Fantastic. Isla joined about age 15 or 16. She just had a lovely quality about her. It’s great when you see nice ppeople who wo are hard workers go on s and have success, and a the same applies to Hem Chris Hemsworth. re You recently had heart surge How are surgery. you feeling now? Ye it’s been a Yes, fe months since few t chainsaw! the Isla Fisher started I thought I had a out in Summer Bay double bypass in her teens and then when I saw the surgeo a few days surgeon later he said I’d had a triple! But I feel great.

ZONEIN

It’s not something I’d recommend you do at the weekend, but it’s a lot better than the other option. Back to the show – Martha and Alf are set to move in together, but it hasn’t been plain sailing... No! When Alf found out she was alive, he was very angry with her, so it was a big thing for him to pick up the phone. When they met, it was like manoeuvring around on a first date, thinking, “Do we resurrect this?” But presumably Alf is keen for her to stick around this time? Yeah, he missed her. Regardless of his gruffness, she was his first love and she’s a flighty little number! How is her health now? Martha was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. She thought she’d be a burden to their daughter Roo and Alf, so she faked her own death. I guess back then she would’ve been called a “crazy woman”, whereas now mental health conditions are properly diagnosed and treated.

SOA P Q&A

So it’s back to playing happy families for the foreseeable? Absolutely. Home And Away really is about families, be it blood or foster families. Ryder [Alf’s long-lost grandson] calls Alf “grumps” and that just came along with the arrival of that character. I think that’s fantastic. He’s a terrific kid, too, the actor Lukas Radovich, who plays him. When they put this whole Alf/Martha reunion story to you, what did you think? I thought, well, that’s definitely a soap story! It’s been fantastic working with Belinda Giblin again. We did an episode in black and white of Matlock Police in the early 70s. And with Georgie Parker, who plays Roo, the three of us get on extremely well. With such a great cast it’s a good place to work. I love it. Home and Away is on weekdays on Channel 5

Y E N G A C E IK L E ’R E ‘W AND LACEY!’ Claudia Winkleman joins forces with Professor Tanya Byron for a revealing new podcast

M

ove over Tess Daly… Claudia Winkleman has a new presenting partner. She’s reunited with her pal, psychologist Professor Tanya Byron, for How Did We Get Here?, a new podcast that gives a unique insight into people’s emotions. The pair, who last worked together on BBC’s The House Of Tiny Tearaways, team up for an unscripted therapy session with a different person each week. Tanya asks the difficult questions while Claudia continues the conversation, in the hope that some resolution can be found. It can be emotional, hard-hitting and hopeful, often leading to floods of tears. We chatted with the ladies to find out all about it…

How would you sum up How Did We Get Here? Tanya: Claud had an idea which she left on my voicemail and I thought it was great. We decided to make a podcast that was designed around what we do as friends, which is built around the fact that professionally we’re both fascinated by people and like to ask them lots of questions about their lives. Claudia, what’s it like working with Tanya? Claudia: It’s phenomenal. It’s like a present because I love being with her. She’s my friend and I love listening to how she works and how she peels things away. It’s extraordinary. It’s a privilege. And Tanya, what’s it like working with Claudia? Tanya: Awful. Ha! No, we’ve worked together for many years and Claud is so great because she can distil very succinctly what I need to be able to explain. Professionally, it’s always been that I do my job and Claud is there navigating the viewers, or in Tanya and Claudia on this case the The House Of Tiny Tearaways listeners. It’s a great

partnership. We’re like Cagney and Lacey! Claudia, is it convenient having a clinical psychologist as a mate? Claudia: Tanya is the leading clinical psychologist in the world, but I think of her as my friend above everything else. I don’t think of her as a clinical psychologist at all. Only when we’re in that room and she’s with the other person. Tanya: And I don’t sit with her and think, “Oh gosh, that’s Claudia, an amazing, talented woman who presents all these amazing things and is brilliant at live television.” I think, “This is Claud – she’s making me an omelette in her kitchen.” So why a podcast and why now? Claudia: It felt like the right time. A podcast feels more intimate and because of the subject matter it was nice that our contributors could have confidentiality. What was the most striking thing you learned making it? Claudia: I learned that I know nothing! But I loved the fact that people can listen and even if they’re not dealing with exactly what our contributor is talking about, it makes you think. It just makes you delve a bit deeper. How long did it take to make? Claudia: From the idea to it going out, a year. Were there any surprises along the way? Claudia: I was surprised all the time! Tanya: We were both surprised – the stories find their own narrative and the narrative reveals itself. What are your favourite podcasts and where do you listen to them? Claudia: I love Where Should We Begin? with Esther Perel, and Brexitcast. I’ve never missed an episode. Tanya: I like a true crime podcast. Unheard: The Fred And Rose West Tapes, Dirty John and Dr Death are some I’ve listened to. How Did We Get Here? is released weekly on Apple, Spotify and all podcast providers

STARRING: NICOLE KIDMAN, CHARLIZE THERON, MARGOT ROBBIE CERT: 15 Three white, blonde, er, bombshells gracing the cover of a movie poster doesn’t exactly scream diversity in Hollywood. But there’s a reason why identikit actresses Nicole, Charlize and Margot have joined forces. They’re playing the women of Fox News who brought down its boss, Roger Ailes, after years of sexual harassment at his hands. The true story has been told already,

notably in mini-series The Loudest Voice, for which Russell Crowe won a Golden Globe for playing media monster Ailes. But Bombshell focuses on the women and their fight for justice and makes it a massively satisfying watch.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?

The three leading ladies put in phenomenal performances. Charlize embodies the

real-life news anchor Megyn Kelly, while Nicole is the epitome of a tough ice queen as leader of the pack, Gretchen Carlson. This is a highly relevant film in these #MeToo times and although some of the content is distressing, the message of female empowerment and justice makes it a massively satisfying watch.

VERDICT: GIRL POWER!

STARRING: WILL SMITH, MARTIN LAWRENCE, PAOLA NÚÑEZ, VANESSA HUDGENS CERT: 15 WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT? Middle-aged cops Mike (Smith) and Marcus (Lawrence) are tasked with bringing down a druglord by the Miami Police Department ’s elite new team, AMMO – headed up by Rita (Núñez), a tough and witty criminal psychologist who just happens to be Mike’s ex-girlfriend…

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?

BAD BOYS FOR LIFE

Mainly to marvel at how Will has refused to age since Bad Boys II 16 years ago. This long-awaited instalment was beset with false starts, but with the charismatic bad boys reunited and well-known actors including Vanessa Hudgens and Vikings star Alexander Ludwig joining the cast, we reckon fans are in for another high-octane treat.

VERDICT: BAD BOYS DONE GOOD!

overwhelmed by what we learn. The first thing the expert suggests is for her to take a mirror and look at her bits more closely. To my mind, that’s advice straight out of the pages of Just Seventeen circa 1987. Let’s hope it gets a bit racier than that, Gwynnie!

I’m afraid David Beckham’s chances of winning an Oscar are looking ever less likely. After impressing no one in Guy Ritchie’s sword and sandals epic King Arthur, the former footballer somehow managed to land a cameo in hit American comedy Modern Family, which features Stephen Merchant as a butler. Becks has a few seconds on screen with Stephen and Courteney Cox, but sounded very much like he was reading his words from an autocue. Having said that, I don’t think producers helped Becks with the lines they gave him, which

were oddly formal and accentuated his whiny voice. Hollywood may not be, erm, Beckoning, but there was a silver lining – at least Goldenballs got to share a hot tub with Courteney after their scene!

What are you guys doing on Friday 24 January? I only ask because that’s the day Gwyneth Paltrow’s six-part show The Goop Lab hits Netflix – and if the publicity shot of Gwyn standing in what is essentially a giant vagina is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat! “We’re here for one life, one time – how can we really milk the shit out of this?” she asks. Judging by the trailer, that means trying out crazy therapies that involve sticking needles into our faces and jumping into freezing cold water. Oh, and going to an orgasm workshop. Yes, remember that time in Sex And The City when they all go to the sex therapist’s place? Gwyn’s done it for real! But I’m not sure we’ll be
